It was great to work with the South Houston team on my 40 year old Perkins 4108 sail boat engine. They managed all the parts and completed the work on time. Importantly, there were no up-charges or change orders for minor modification. I paid the price they quoted which was great. And, the price was competitive.

The people here are amazing, very nice and very helpful. Always answered the phone with the answers to my questions. No issues with new Power Stroke 6.0 long block that is installed and running great. I dont want to buy another motor but if i had too it would be from them. Thank you

Full compression diesel here on the outer banks installed my 6.0 purchased from you 8 months and 13000 miles ago. This motor runs like a top with pep and great fuel mileage. Love my F350 and her new 6.0 you sold me! I ordered a 6.7 cummins short block from South Houston Engine a couple months ago, it arrived within a couple weeks. only complaint I would say with the engine is its bored 20 over, but other than that, I got it all done a week ago and it started right up after the third time cranking it over once the fuel injectors got primed. I am very pleased having my truck running again. Now all I have to do is ship the core back to them.

These guys are absolutely terrible!!!! Don’t ever use them! I wouldn’t let them work on my lawn mower! They rebuilt my friend’s engine and the specs were so far off it blew immediately!!! Had a machinist look at the specs and they were so bad the machinist couldn’t believe these guys were still in business. Not only that, they wouldn’t warranty their own mistake... Go ANYWHERE but here!!! Absolutely Awful!!!They also lie about how they handle situations and the response to this review is inaccurate and not what was said to my buddy.. Find a different engine builder!

I shopped Cummins, Jasper and a few other options for a rebuilt Cummins long block 5.9 Turbo Diesel engine. South Houston was the cheapest that offered a warranty. They delivered on time with no issues. I’m very happy with their service and support and recommend them to anyone looking for a rebuilt diesel engine.

They do first class work all the way! I have purchased two 7.3s already 1 was for a customer and the other was for my personal truck both engines 10k plus miles on them and run like raped apes lol I will be getting a third 1 built soon thanks for all the help guys!!

Thank You boys I love the engine. I have the engine less then 2 months and 8k miles on it with no problems. The engine was ready less then 3-4 days. Works great. All the gaskets and oring and some extra orings.

Dont go here. Purchased a remanufactured 6.7 for a ram and they sent me a used engine. Motor kicked a head gasket after only 3000 miles. took the head off and found it had a very old head gasket and pitting under the head. it was not decked and there is rust on several of the parts. I had this motor only 3 weeks. later found that the crank completley shot. JD the warranty guy would not even look at the pictures and obviously wanted me to send the only remaining core to be looked at. without looking at pictures he basically told me the only way one of their engines goes bad is due to the installer. They are crooks. I had three diesel mechanics look at this and they all said most abused motor they had ever seen. They were shocked that someone would sell this as a reman. on top of that this used motor they sent does is not even a usable core. meanwhile my work truck sits down not making money while I round up a new core, 10,000 gone now on to the courts. Dont be a victim of this group.

I would like to start off by saying thank you so for your great service and professionalism but down to business, I purchased a remanufactured 2007.5 LMM from South Houston Engine which once I placed the call I was informed that it would be ready in a week and it was. I think I placed the order on a Thursday and I was picking it by the following Tuesday.It took some time to get our old engine swapped out at our Mechanics place but once he started assembling the reman every single gasket, o - ring, on the top side and the lower conversion kit was there.We have about 20 hours so fair on the reman engine and it is very tight, awesome oil pressure and it runs very strong. I would even go as far as it runs like it did when we bought this truck new in 2007.Thank you so much for the great Engine!We are stopping by this afternoon with our Core... Absolutely horrible service and the warranty they offer is worth about as much as toilet paper. Had a motor rebuilt. Day one had major blow by. Called repeatedly was told it was normal let it break in. Finally when it was dumping several quarts of oil out the blow by tube was told to send it back. Abs just as expected was told it wouldnt be covered. First was told the motor ingested a foreign object. Was told dirt had caused severe cylinder scaring after having a second and third opinion miraculously the story changed to the foreign object was part of the piston and ring but it was a fuel issue not our problem and of course the major blow by videos I gave from day one were now not considered normal as they were for months. Final insult they were gonna do me a favor and only charge me $2600 to fix the motor they already charged me $6000 the first time. Save yourself time and headache go somewhere else!

Total rip off.. a quote was given to my insurance and when i came to pick up my vehicle was charged $400 extra for overtime

After going to several machine shops in town, these guys were the only ones to take care of my needs. They have the equipment, the staff to do the job!
