Alpine Computers always has the answer to my computer questions. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Excellent customer service all the way around. Thanks again for all that you do.
Thank you to Chris and the staff at Alpine. They have helped me out in a variety of ways; and are always courteous, helpful and professional. Ihighly recommend.
I live in Tahoe for 31 years and Alpine Computer has been the most reliable and trusted computer store and repairs in South Lake Tahoe. I highly recommend them because the company delivers with their professionalism and excellent customers service. They make sure that their customers leave satisfied with the good quality and value; and very responsive to their customers needs! Also, they will not over charge you with their service.
Good and knowledgeable staffs. I trust them 100% for my computer issues. Also, in the future I probably get their security camera put in my home. Thank you guys for your excellent and professionalism.
Alpine Computers has amazing customer service! I had brought in a Playstation that couldnt be repaired, but Alpine removed the hard drive for me with no charge as the unit couldnt be repaired. So amazing to have a business not take advantage of their customers.
Passing through Tahoe, I did not do much business with them but Chris and the team solved my problem and treated me with pleasant professionalism.
I had a problem today with my Kindle while I was visiting South Lake Tahoe. I needed a charger to reset it, but there are no big box stores close by, so I found alpine computers online and the gentleman on the phone thought that he would be able to help me. I drove over and Jon was ready to help me. He took the time to look online and figure out the steps that we needed to take, and put my kindle back in business. Since I was in the middle of my vacation, this was incredibly helpful. I really appreciate the time he took, this was great customer service. Thank you to John and Alpine Computers.
Needed parts for a new computer build and Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful. Helped me work through my issues and pointed me in the right direction. Thanks again!
John was great - he helped us get our wedding pictures transferred from a memory card to an iPhone flash drive so we could have our pictures on our phones. Great service !
Sometimes my mind gets stuck when I talk computers. But Ive had success with Alpine Computers. They have patience with my senior moments on what is wrong with my laptop.
I developed a problem with my email. Took the laptop to Alpine computers. It was not straightforward and it took 15 to 20 minutes to sort out which they did and at no charge. One year prior, there had been an inadvertent deletion of emails with a local computer shop stating there would be no way to retrieve them. Took it to these gentlemen and within five-10 minutes, all e-mails were recovered and I was on my way. These are very professional and knowledgeable individuals and will visit them again with any problems that develop in either the laptop or the iPhone.
Fixed a problem while on vacation. Very professional and most knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Took my wifes phone in for a repair....Left minutes later with all systems ago...Have used these guys for many years (since theyve opened) and have always gotten great service....Best in town bar none!
I cracked my iPhone screen while vacationing in Tahoe and needed someone to fix it. This shop was the only my place I could find to get it done that day. We had a scheduled trip up to northlake so I couldn’t hang around for it to get finished. He wanted $200 for a nee screen and I asked him to put a nee battery in for me as well. I’m not sure he even did that to be honest. The battery seems to die faster than it did before. But the screen is completely unusable. The lower third of the letters when texting Don’t even work. Autocorrect makes my phone type gibberish when I text. The backspace “button” works roughly 10% of the time. Also when scrolling pages on the internet it will suddenly click and highlight the entire page. I’m so mad.
Great service, prompt attention to detail. Highly recommended in this community.
I gave them my hardrives and they werent able to transfer data. Unfortunately I waited 2 weeks until finally saying come on are they done yet? And he said they were done next business day but i should have called to pick it up....poor communication. Also, have a mask exemption due to someone in my party being hard of hearing spoke sign. The front desk guy was rude and said hes never heard of the law and they dont abide by they, the law is masks. I tried to explain to him that someone couldnt hear and he didnt care. I honestly think they didnt even try to transfer data because he was so butt hurt that someone didnt have a mask on.
We were on vacation, just passing through when one of our chargers broke while being plugged into our phone. The part was stuck in the port and we could not get it out. We took a stop into Alpine Computers and they pulled the piece out in less than a minute. Not only did they treat us so well, they also did it for free. Great customer service, friendly employees, and extremely responsive!! We highly recommend!
John was awesome! Was able to help me fix my phone in no time!
So grateful for these guys right now. I had a failing hard drive in my Mac, took me almost two weeks to get my data off of it. After that I thought about bringing it to Apple in Reno knowing I’d get ripped off for taking the iMac apart and replacing the drive. I decided to go by the reviews for Alpine and give em a chance... so glad I did. Not only did they charge a fraction of what Apple would charge, but it took them ONE DAY. My iMac is running better than new, thanks to Chris 💯
This place is great! Super friendly service, great selection of cables and chargers, if you have computer problems in Tahoe, they will take care of you!
We were on vacation and driving thru town when the metal tip of my daughters IPhone charger broke off in her IPhone. We stopped by Alpine Computer and they were extremely helpful and offered to remove the metal from the phone at no charge. They saved the day! Highly recommend their service.....thank you Alpine Computer!
Such helpful staff, thank you for diagnosing the issues and getting it fixed quickly you guys are amazing!
Very helpful. Highly recommend them for tech needs!
Quick, affordable, and friendly service.
Not impressed. 2X as much $$. Should have driven my PC to Gardnerville, NV. A friend had exact same work done for less than half what I paid, & didnt lose a single file - I lost some.
Overall experience: 🌟 Best time buying a time critical replacement for my computer Ive ever had. In, questions asked, prices compared, equipment bought, and out in about 15 mins.Stock: 🌟 They have a good selection of hardware for the modest size of the place, or they do special orders if you can wait for a product to come in.Customer service: 🌟 Firstly, they are courteous, which threw me off at first as I expect the same type of know-it-all annoyed expert to talk down to me for 20 mins you get in most computer stores. John, was patient and helpful both when I called and when I came in. Not pushy, just informing.Price: 🌟(plus bonus 🌟)Everything in South Tahoe is hiked in price. So I was expecting to bite the bullet and pay through the nose before I even walked in. To my surprise the prices were decent. Then, they hit me with the military discount! Shut up and take my money!Facility: 🌟 Clean, sanitized, and capable of social distancing, which they seem practice. Its on the second floor, but there is a handicap accessible option to get there... At least thats what the sign at the bottom of the stairs says. Parking was easy and moderately available which is rare in Tahoe. If you check my other in-depth reviews military discount is automatically plus one 🌟. So..... congratulations 6/5 🌟 but Google will only let me give 5! Hope to drop in during my next visit to Tahoe!
Needed a power supply for a laptop. They had mine in stock and both prepped me to bring my laptop but took the time to ensure that it worked thru power up.
The guys Alpine Computers are extremely helpful and honest. I spilled water on my laptop took it to them right away. After it dried out they inspected everything and gave it back free of charge since there was no damage.
So helpful and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone and we will be back!
Good guy!
Quickly fixed my phone so I avoided any further headaches and expenses!
They helped me figure out why my new pc build would not start up. Them confirming the issue helped me replace the correct parts. They were super awesome and helpful i would recommend anyone to try them out.
Local computer shop that cares
Took my MacBook Pro into Alpine Computers as its been running slow. They informed me I had a failing hard drive and replaced with a solid state. My computer is working incredibly fast and Im super happy with the quick service and price! Dont go anywhere else! These guys are the best!
Great local shop. Very helpful. Good prices. They had exactly what I was looking for. I got a computer monitor and they had several to select from. They had all sorts of other items too. I almost drove to Carson City, but Im glad I didnt. Open pretty late too so I could go after work. I will definitely be back for all my IT needs.10/10 would recommend!
I recently posted a poor review due to what I felt was negligent service and bad business. I was mistaken, After seeing my review, the owner reached out and offered to make it right. This was a great business move and showed that customer satisfaction is the true aim of this business.
Great service! Chris was very helpful and honest helping me with my computer and external drive issues. Highly recommend.
Fixed my iPhone quickly and professionally. Highly recommend.
I brought my laptop in completely stumped, we agreed to $99 for one day work. Took 3 days to locate the problem an still charged just $99. Great place an knowledgeable staff. Thanks again Chris!
Had some questions involving chargers/cords and Brandon was really honest and helpful. He was able to quickly respond to my questions via the phone, and recommended I stop in the shop. He confirmed his initial thoughts by quickly researching my equipment. Even though I didnt purchase anything, he was very knowledgeable and provided really great customer service.
Cool place, has computer parts I needed in a hurry. The guy who helped me was very friendly. Also gave me some screws for free which is always appreciated.
I should have read the other 1 star reviews before coming here. Been a computer user for about 23 years, so been to few repair shops, this was by far my worst experience in 23 years. I have powerful Toshiba laptop, 12 gigs of Ram, 3.2 ghz processor, and it stopped powering up, so I brought it in, expecting that the cable between power button and mother board came loose, so theyd open it up and connect it or replace it. I was told that they only have one tech guy Chris, who is out, so hed look following day. Following day, I got a call from Chris, who said that laptop looks really old, and he doesnt recommend fixing it, and that he is not even going to look at it. I was like...its just power button...he said if you want complete restoration, he could give me a quote, but itll be expensive, otherwise I should just buy a new laptop and hed do memory transfer for $129. I am glad I have enough common sense not to buy into such BS...most people would probably believe such an expert. Long story short, I picked up the laptop that they didnt even care to open up and diagnose, and called another tech guy in town, who came over my house, opened the laptop, reconnected the cable from mother board to power button, took him less than 30 mins, he charged me $40, and that was it. The laptop is working perfectly. Also, their used laptops in store are WAY overpriced...they are selling a used laptop that shows some wear for $549, which they reduced from $599, and exact same refurbished laptop in pristine condition with zero wear costs $369 on Amazon. I say these guys need to clean up their act!
I called to ask if they could get some foreign object out of my charge port. They said to bring it in and now was okay to do so. THANK YOU! My phone was at 11% and anxiety was setting in. Chris was at the counter when I arrived. He was careful with the extraction of the tiny piece of something that found its way in there from my purse or pocket. I totally appreciate you guys. They had good options for extending my WiFi so Im going back to explore that.
I stopped in today, unable to charge my iPhone. The kind and helpful folks at Alpine Computers helped me right away, clearing the block from my phones charging port, free of charge. Ill definitely hold them in mind for future phone and computer needs.
I needed a keyboard and a mouse for gaming and the crew there hooked me up. Fast professional service and very good prices.
These guys rock. My sons computer was damaged and Alpine was able to fix it as promised. Alpine is professional, friendly, and reliable.
Arrived on a Saturday at 4 in the afternoon having issues with an iPhone home button. Employee was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and was willing to open it up on the spot to take a look. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an unrepairable item, but not for lack of effort! Excellent, knowledgeable service! Will be back for our iPhone and computer needs!
Always helpful and friendly. These guys know what they are doing. Thanks guys!
I took my phone in and they cleaned the charging port out right away. It only took a few minutes and fixed the problem. Great service. Thanks guys.
Super helpful guy behind the counter.
They are very nice and always helpful.they came to my home to fix my laptop and now my printer. great job.
Very happy with the service!
Chris is THE BEST! thanks for all your help through the years!!!
Honest and knowledgeable!! Had an issue with a pc. Tested a few things at home, then called Alpine. They were friendly and helpful in fixing my problem. Picked it up the next morning!! No price gauging, extremely fair, definitely recommend Alpine Computers in South Lake Tahoe : )
Chris was awesome. He removed my water-damaged battery and gave me some sound advice for free! I’ll definitely be back.
Great service, very helpful, and friendly.
Ive been to Alpine 3 times---with laptop and cell phone. Each time they fixed the problem--and one was not trivial--quickly and efficiently. For the trivial they didnt charge me, for the others the charge was very reasonable.Try Alpine these guys are the best.
Excellent repair shop, computer parts, retrieval of music and old data. Surveillance cameras, installation estimates $800 dollars. Knowledgable staff.
Recently I had a Iphone issue where the phone would not charge. I brought it into Alpine computers and Louis fixed the phone in nothing flat. He fixed it so quickly, that he didnt even charge me for his effort. I have always brought my computer equipment to them for repairs, but this solidifys my belief that they are the best and most honest and fair computer store that I have ever dealt with. I would highly recommend them. Two thumbs up! Great Service!
My iPhone recently stopped charging and needed a fix. Alpine were very helpful and resolved the charging problem on the same day. Excellent service!!! Would definitely recommend.
Great service. Chris’ help was great!
Luis, you made my day, week, month by getting my Chromebook up and running again so expertly within minutes! Amazing experience! You are the best!!!
Awesome customer service! The entire team is really helpful. Highly recommended.
Great place to find a good computer! Cool place for teenagers to game together too!
Vary nice and were fast with the fix
Great local, responsive service!
Chris came out and hooked up a wi-fi extender in my home today. I was surprised that we had computer services here in South Lake, that did house calls. Glad to know they also service Apple products. Very professional and fast. Yes, I highly recommend this company.
Great place. Had the cable I needed, friendly service.
Very helpful and helped me get my problem solved very quickly at a fantastic price!!
Bad
Completed the work well and quickly. I highly recomend
Yan runs a great show! From website development to graphics for print or online, to computer repair or connectivity improvements, they are my team!
Great shop with really friendly and helpful staff!!
The nearest Apple store is in Reno, NV. Left your power cord at home? Dont want to get fired? Alpines got your back.
Great service, friendly staff and competitive prices. Thank you
Very helpful to an out of towner with a broken hdd. Even let me return some merchandise when they couldve been a lot less accommodating. Highly recommended for friendly service and good attitude.
I needed a PCIe card for an HP Slimline computer. I ordered the card through Alpine and they ordered a regular PCI card which was too big. They told me to take the metal plate off the end to see if I could make it fit. It didnt work so I took the unused card and the receipt back to Alpine. They refused to refund my money and since the card was the wrong one and I couldnt use it - they kept it. After doing business with Alpine, I am out the money, out the part and dont have a working computer. They educated me that I should never do business with their store as I will lose my money and receive no help or professionalism from them. Take your business elsewhere.
Quick fix on my laptop. Chris knew his stuff
Good service
Great service very knowledgeable.
Great service! I broke my phone and Alpine Computers was able to fix it quickly, professionally, and at a reasonable price.
DIdnt fix the problem, and worse still, didnt seem to care to! Poor attitude guys!!
These guys are major jerks, I wanted to have my computer cleaned. I got it back virus free and clean, but I now didnt have a genuine copy of windows, and they told me to google Ccleaner and download it to prevent further viruses, turns out the Ccleaner I downloaded was a virus...apparently you have to download one from a specific website. They said for another 99$ they could fix it.. Ive heard numerous people in Tahoe complain about this guy. DONT GO HERE!
Excellent service!
This place went above & beyond because they let me return an item when they didnt have to
UPDATED 1/10/2018I received a missed call from Keely from Alpine Computers this morning. I called her back and we discussed my experience as outlined below. Keely offered to swap out the new hard drive and install the old one, as well as provide a full refund. I jumped in my car, drove over, and within 5 minutes of arriving had my laptop back with the old drive installed, plus a check for $300 in hand. This is a huge relief. Keely was extremely nice and accommodating, and I appreciate Alpine Computers taking the time to make this right. It would have been very easy to simply blow me off and take my money, but they didnt. Thank you.~~~Formerly loyal customer, now Ill never go backBefore I get into why Ill never return to Alpine Computers, let me preface by saying that Ive purchased quite a lot from the South Lake Tahoe location in the past, including a refurbished Dell tower last summer, not to mention a variety of peripherals, cables, etc. Brandon was especially thoughtful and attentive to my needs, originally winning over my loyalty.Unfortunately, my recent experience with Chris was the exact opposite of my experience with Brandon. It started several weeks ago, when my MacBook Pro began having issues on boot up. I called Alpine looking for a new machine, but Chris convinced me to bring it in for repairs. I dropped it off the next day and explained the issues I was experiencing. A few days later, I got a call from Chris to let me know that the issue was a failing hard drive, and that I could get a replacement 1TB drive installed for $300. I was also promised that if the new drive didnt fix the issue, the money I paid would go towards whatever was needed for the final fix. I gave the go ahead, and about a week later, I had my laptop back in hand. I noticed it had a new 500GB drive rather than the 1TB drive Chris had promised me, but oh well – the important thing was it worked. That was until 8 hours later when my “fixed” laptop once again crashed and failed to boot. I brought it back to Alpine, and after spending 15 minutes attempting a quick fix, Chris shelved it and told me it needed to be sent to a motherboard specialist. Nervous that my $300 was wasted, Chris assured me that I would get a free estimate on this second round of repairs, with Alpine at least picking up the shipping and handling to send the laptop to the motherboard specialist. He promised to get back to me by Monday with an estimate.Monday came and went, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. On Thursday morning, Chris finally calls me back, saying itll be another $300 to $500 on top of the $300 I already paid, but they wouldnt know for sure until the laptop was given to the specialist. Additionally, I would be paying for the shipping and handling to actually get it to the specialist, despite multiple promises from Chris to the contrary. So this is where Im at now – $300 out of pocket, a computer thats still broken, a list of broken verbal agreements from Chris, another potential $500 out of pocket, and no guarantee that the computer will even work after paying through the nose.So then – would you take the risk? Would you return to a store that neither guarantees its work nor keeps its promises? To make matters worse, Chris has been pushy, rude, and unhelpful throughout. I always feel as though Im wasting his time when speaking with him, rather than receiving the sort of attentive service I experienced with Brandon. In closing, Id like to say that Im a journalist that works from home here in South Lake, and I need a local computer place that I know I can count on. Unfortunately, Alpine Computers is no longer that place.
Ive had 2 appointments so far at my business with Chris for my computer needs, I would highly recommend them to anyone .
Iphone brought back from the dead after getting soaked in hot tub. Saved the vacation.
Luis SAVED our vacation. Within seconds of bringing our troubled iPhone in, Luis diagnosed the problem and had it repaired in 30 minutes! I kid you not!
Fixed my iPhone six phone screen when the screen replacement wasnt even available yet at most stores.
Brandon is my hero. That is all.
Good service
$150 and my phone that died in the water is alive!
Nice people
