Safeway in So. Lake Tahoe is Great place to shop for food clean nice employees Great Deli. Plenty of parking too

I absolutely love using the Safeway app gives me some great deals throughout the store every time I go.Is also easy to download and easy-to-use all I had to do is put my phone number into it and it was connected to my card super cool thanks guys

Fresh sushi fried chicken potatoes macaroni and cheese amazing deli meats, sandwiches, ready to eat meals and everything in between love the store great prices friendly staff kudos guys. Ill add pictures. There beer and wine and alcohol selection is huge. I never seen so much in a supermarket. The place is super clean and people are always disinfecting everything every time Ive been in there morning noon or night. Ive been here working the fires so Ive been in the store at all hours these people go above and beyond to make sure the store is super clean.

An antivaxxer works there and really invaded my space recently while I was waiting for my flu shot. She was not wearing a mask and actively fights against Covid safety. Knowing she’s working with so much food is worrying. I tried messaging Safeway directly to ask if they supported their employees not following the mandate but have not heard back. I think if they have people touching their customers without having the mandated precautions is morally wrong and dangerous since we are in a pandemic.

The store is clean. Easy parking. Has self checkout, friendly staff. If you have Vons account, just download Safeway app and log in to save the offers to your shopping list.

The most beautiful and biggest safeway Ive ever seen.The only problem was there was a very long queue for cash registers..need more open cash registers.You can find halal meat and halal ready-made food in this market. Thank you safeway for selling halal products..

I have a condo around the corner and was up for the first time since the Caldor fire this past week. The gentleman at the deli, Kevin or Keith I think is his name, was very helpful. I was shopping later in the evening and he was almost closed so told me to call ahead for a specific meat I needed cut and he would have it ready the next day for me. I was very appreciative of his helpfulness especially when the store was running on such short staff with people being gone for evacuations etc. Definitely a great experience!

Its always great here just an ordinary store. Its has nice workers which all that really matters. Oh but the hot deli food HARD AS A ROCK

They have some great deals. Pretty well stocked and open 24 hours. One of the best Safeways Ive gone too, and Ive been to many all over California and Nevada. Pretty clean for a store with millions of people a year visiting South Lake Tahoe.

Store was well kept including parking lot. Set up a little different than other Safeways but in a good way. Typical options youll find anywhere. Along bus route for commuting convenience.

Great inside of store, couldnt be happier with the stocked shelves and cleanliness. Homeless tweekers outside made wife feel threatened. She had to leave quickly. Clean up your parking lot from these losers.

Lots and lots of choices. Would have been 4 stars for being great regular grocery store. But convenience of being open 24 hours made it 5 stars

Surprisingly a lof exotic fruits and organic stuff

A clean, well organized and well stocked Safeway. There is nothing you might need that they dont have, from organic chocolates to ethnic foods. The staff is particularly helpful. The lady that made us sandwiches insisted on cutting fresh cucumbers, though some were already pre cut. The gas station here is usually the cheapest we have seen in Tahoe.

Great store. We bought blueberry, raspberry, chicken wings, and spinach salad. The berries/salad are very fresh / tasty. The wings are fried thoroughly without any raw chicken smell. The food quality is better than a few Safeways weve been to in bay area. And its relatively inexpensive compared with restaurant takeouts.

Clean, friendly. Staff really went out of their way to help find the things we needed and made us feel important, which honestly now a day you hardly find in most supermarkets. I would definitely shop their again when I go on my next visit.

Much better choice than CVS down the road. Newer facility, good service, full stock, and fast check-out.

Love Safeways! Been to several in many states. Never disappointed

PROS: Excellent variety of quality products.CONS: Large parking lot was mostly full, because this store is about the only game in town. Not enough handicapped parking spots. Homeless beggar lady near the front door. No workers to ask for help in the aisles. Totally out of Michelob Ultra bottles on a Monday... would have been great after a shortened hike with my trainer. Gatorade varieties 32oz. bottles were shown as only $0.69 each (12 or more), but rang up at the higher regular price. Similar to Walmart at checkout, with few Cashiers working. Cashback option showed $60, and I didnt select other to get a higher amount. The same out-of-place homeless beggar lady near the front door on the way out--so I felt rotten about not offering cash yet again.

It was a Safeway. I got what I came for. The restroom was clean. Checkout was reasonably fast. Everything I expect from a Safeway.

Self checkout was the best, you dont have to wait in the queue.Quick and easy.

This Safeway is seriously understaffed. I waited 30 minutes to buy two alcoholic beverages on a Sunday night. There were only 3 cashiers available and the lines were halfway down the food aisles. So not worth mine and everyone elses time. Your employees deserve better.

Decent Safeway location, with well stocked aisles and generally enough staff. It gets super busy with tourists, as is to be expected in this area, but the store seems to handle it pretty well. Generally lines are kept short and customers move through quickly. The last time I was there the lines were extremely long, about halfway down the aisles, but the staff pulled through kept things moving.

I love that they have a Starbucks inside. I found everything I needed. The store was well organized and clean.

This grocery store has a lot of variety of products with very fair prices. The checkout could be a little faster, but what more could you ask for from a grocery store?

The locals (employees) are awesome, and super friendly, if you have not experienced this yet, may I suggest you leave your attitude and bad manners at home. Just because you are on vacation doesnt give you the right to be an @$$. Avoid the crowds shop early.

The lines are REDICULAS. the line for self check out was 20 people. Now masks are not required and not one single person in line was willing to practice social distancing. The health department needs to be here. I dont like people standing on my heals anyhow but your customers dont care.. ELBOW TO ELBOW.. Id go later at night but they have one cashier and its a half hour wait.. this safeway his a HARD FAILWho ever the bot is that responds to these angry posts with Im sorry,, were contacting the store to make necessary changes. BS. we all know youre full of c*. The lines have been like this for years

Im a regular Safeway shopper. In my town there arent many markets because its so small. There is a Rayleys right around the corner from my house but I dont shop there. I get a lot more benefits and the prices are better at Safeway. If you have a Safeway card and use it, youll find out that you can save cash and rack up your reward credits that can be used for discounts at the gas pump or buy groceries. Believe that it is very good for saving 💰 money, I do! So get a Safeway card and start saving!

I go to this Safeway a lot. Its a good location with many food and recipe ingredients. I always tend to buy something that I havent tried yet every time I shop here. The sushi section is amazing. Its also fun to people watch here when the store is packed.

Clean and well designed. Creates a pleasant shopping experience. Prices can be a little on the higher side. Utilizing their club card and the app will help save time and money.

Nice and clean with friendly service. Plenty of ready-to-eat items for lunch or dinner. (Wasnt there for breakfast time)

One of the Starbucks baristas didnt put the the coffee condom on my hot drink. I ended up spilling it outside, and had to pay for another one. At least the second barista knew to put the cardboard on. Its kinda my fault that I didnt ask for it, but still it should be common sense for them put it on. There was a little bit of a wait both times, as they only had one or two baristas there. Havent really truly shopped at this Safeway, so I cant give a review for the store itself. The store itself seems okay I guess.

Very clean but expensive. If your going to Lake Tahoe and staying at an air bnb. Buy your groceries before at a Walmart in Carson. We bought a bag of ice for almost 6 dollars 🥴

Everyone is nice and the store is clean. The only thing thats kind of inconvient is that the clerks dont have a code for the firewood at the register. So you have to go to the entrance and bring it back to scan instead of scanning then picking it up on the way out.

Expensive and terrible service. Check out lines to the back of the store and slow cashiers. The 8 self checkouts were closed making the problem worse.

Great grocery store, just make sure to get a free club card or be ready to shell out a lot of unnecessary cash. Nice variety of foods. Large wine and spirits area. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Dont forget your mask as it appears everywhere around here its mandatory.

They were out of the beverage I was wanting, however the employee did not hesitate to make a suggestion for a substitute item, which I did purchase. Used self check-out for the first time in this Safeway store.

Wow this floral shop is so friendly and helpful. Im dumb as a rock on flowers and they were angels helping me for this impromptu wedding (Surprise! ). Ill definately be back. Bakery dept was very helpful (and fun) also
