I went to Ulta Beauty for the 1st time in Oct 2021. I went hoping to find my Tree Hut mango scrub as every other store didnt have it and online sites wanted to charge way over price for one jar. All I will say is, I fell in love with this store. I even bought items I didnt even need. This is definitely a gem of a beauty store. They have EVERYTHING!! LOL!! Ulta definitely has a new customer and will get a lot of money from of me. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very good customer service.

Absolutely loved it here service they give is so professional and Maggie did my haircut she is very humble sweet and amazing at her job. She gave me wonderful look! So Happy with their service.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING customer service from Abigail! Abigail was very kind and helped me find exactly what I needed! Her shade matching was spot on for the foundation she recommended as well as all of the other products she recommended. I will definitely be coming back to her when I am in need of assistance. WOW!

Great location! I came here to browse and try some new fragrances. They are pretty well stocked. I noticed the workers never walked around to ask if you needed assistance. Other than that, I give it a thumbs up.

First of all thank you for having one of the greatest skin care product brand! I love Clinique and always went to the mall just to buy my skin products. I live in South Plainfield and the mall is like a 15-20 minute drive so kinda wasted gas going over there. Anyways why waste your gas for that type of drive when you have an Ulta Beauty nearby never knew you guys existed and thank God my curiosity got the best of me because not only I found Clinique but the people that work here definitely know their stuff! Two ladies helped me I forgot their names 1 white and 1 black lady! Both were very sweet actually everyone here is helpful and sweet! They will make you feel welcomed! But like I said you wont be disappointed with this place! This place also has their salon 😱😱😱😱! If you come here you wont be disappointed! Whoever is reading I hope you have many blessings coming towards you!

Worst customer service by Bryce. She dont listen or attention to the customers what they are saying. Bcoz of her mistake wasted my time and bocz of her missed my class. She is not even feel sorry what she had done.

This Ulta is great, staff is very pleasant, and there is always a variety of items available in makeup, hair accessories and hair care.

They literally have EVERYTHING beauty!!! From drug store cosmetics to high end. Designer fragrances as well. They also have a salon in the back if you havent spent all your time browsing in their huge product selection. They sell sample sizes of cosmetics as well so youre not forced into buying something expensive that you havent tried before. Wear comfy shoes to this store, you will be there for awhile! Sign up for their Ulta program where you earn points on purchases, its easy to spend there!

I made an appointment for hair services for my mom and I with Emily K. Not only is she super professional and knowledgeable, she is also so so so so so patient, kind, and considerate. Her recommendations were wonderful and made my mom feel so comfortable (which is not easy). She also really listened to our needs and made suggestions accordingly. I advise you to see her for any of your hair services, she’s so pleasant and fun! Thank you Ulta for a great first experience!

You get a LOT of employee attention immediately, as in every Ulta --- the employees always come at me so fast it seriously makes me feel like a criminal and totally uncomfortable. I understand a layout like theres could cause stealing to be a problem, but Id rather they had security cameras with someone or several someones always watching than being chased around the store. Nevertheless, the employee was super nice and helpful and knowledgeable, and they do have a wide selection. However, when I asked for Olay products, the employee pretty judgmentally said, all our wholesale supermarket things are way over there. Like dont judge me, brah.

Being black is an issue in this store. My friend & I were constantly followed around. Very uncomfortable. Not only were we followed, at check out the alarm kept going off one of the employees assumed it was me. She kept going through my bags stating maybe someone put something in one of these bags and weren’t supposed to. Soon after SHE realized SHE forgot to take an alarmed tag off one of my purchases. Unfortunate being that I probably spent the most money in that store that day..

Love coming here to get makeup and skincare products. I also love how they offer hair services, eyebrow services, and much more. It’s a pretty clean store and a nice atmosphere overall. I always find the things I want and need at Ulta. At Ulta, you can buy many things that you may need in just one stop! Would recommend this place for sure!

Five stars hands down! While the store is easy to navigate & always clean, my review is mainly for the salon. After countless bad experiences at the Clark location, where I live, I gladly travel to this store. The salon staff are great! Emily in particular is absolutely amazing. She is professional and knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s done my hair twice so far & needless to say, I will continue to travel to this store for her services.

Decent laundromat

Would give zero stars if I could. Manager kept following me around the store and hiding between the isles. Made me feel really uncomfortable as though I was trying to steal something. Never going back again. This store is empty for a reason.

I love make up but as a beginner you want various of items and i feel ULTA just isnt enough its good for those who know what they want but they do have a few good products

Helpful staff

My first experience in early May was pretty good. The staff was helpful and sweet as soon as I entered the establishment, I truly felt welcomed. It was on my second (mid May) and third visit (June 4th) that left me unpleased. My second visit I was treated as if I was not welcomed to shop at the establishment. The sad thing about that encounter was Management’s treatment towards customers; very curt even though I was the second customer in line. There was no urgency to get me in and out. During my third visit I was welcomed and then followed around the store until I made my purchase. I work retail so I understand there is a need to engage with customers, but to walk past me through aisles and not speak, just looks weird. I will not be coming back because management/floor leads don’t know how to properly engage with customers. Hope they fix this problem in the future.

If only there was an option for zero stars.... after booking an appointment 2 weeks ago for makeup for June 14 for a wedding party I just received a call letting me know that one of their employees no longer worked there and they were not going to honor my appointment!!! Very unprofessional to say the least! I was told to call another ultra! Are you kidding me right now??? You have lost me as customer forever!!!!!

I had a facial done by Delilah and it was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and recommended the perfect product for my dark spots. I will be back in to see her!

Came in at 5:30p on a Sunday, even though I knew they close at 6p on Sunday’s. I knew what I wanted though, and knew where to find it, so I walked in and made a beeline for the product I needed. Was immediately greeted with “We close at 6.” When I went to grab the eyeshadow palette, I was again met by another employee who reminded me of their closing time. I was reminded another time on my way to the line. I forgot my wallet in my car and told my friend to hold my place so I could run and get it. I ran and grabbed it, came back, and the doors were locked. I checked the time, it was only 5:45. I kept tugging on the doors, and all the employees would turn and look at me, and turn away. I wasn’t let in until another customer had left. When I walked in and headed towards my friend in line, I was stopped my an employee and said “We’re closed. That’s why we didn’t let you in.” I’m going to take myself back to the online store or Sephora. Not going to be coming back here. A shame bc I was waiting for the grand opening for so long

I had a really negative experience at this location during their 21 Days of Beauty event. The staff was unhelpful, unknowledgeable and flippant. When a product was sold out, they informed me that they were not set up to order and send items home. They did not provide any additional information or strategies and I ended up missing out on the sale. I recommend going to a different retailer for your cosmetic needs. This store was a true disappointment.

Ive visited this Ulta Beauty at least four times now and the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Some other Ulta stores Ive been to have long checkout times but the South Plainfield store is usually very fast.
