This is my 3rd car from Pape and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. The sales department is so responsive, and they genuinely work with you to get the car you need, even with COVID inventory. Finance makes it a breeze, they are honest, and savvy to get you a rate you deserve and will worn for your budget. I asked them for a lot of scenarios and they sent them to me without a second thought. Even the GM, Katie, reached out to make sure I liked my purchase!!! I actually enjoyed buying a car!!! 10/10 recommend.

My Subaru Crosstreks starter decided to stop working and so I dropped the vehicle off at Pape. They were super busy and didnt promise anything. Said they may not get to it until the following week but would squeeze it in if possible. And they did. Just a couple days later my car was returned. Im especially grateful knowing oftentimes employee numbers are down during these Covid times.

Jeff Wheeler is seriously the BEST! I can’t even imagine working with anyone else. I had to buy a new car and move on from my old, manual transmission outback, and Jeff made the ENTIRE purchasing process so easy (and I am NOT an easy person to please - it is what it is). He answered all of my questions, went WAY above and beyond to get me full and complete answers/information (where other dealers just said, “you can call Subaru corporate and ask them”)…. Jeff took care of LITERALLY everything. If you need a car, go to Paper and work with Jeff!

I really was hoping to leave a positive review as most are negative and the good experiences are not reported on. I just moved to the area and was looking for my new dealer to work with on service and future purchases. Unfortunately my first service (oil change) took over 2.5 hours to complete. The appointment was at 8:30am and the vehicle was not put on a lift until 10:30am. Unfortunately I am now moving to another dealership. This could be due to many different factors, but the wait is just something that’s poor and disappointing.

Thank you Pape Subaru!! I just purchased a 2021 Crosstrek Premium and I love it. The whole process was so smooth and unpressured. My sales person, Tony Woods, was so warm, easy to talk with, listened to what my needs were and the price range I could work in. I never felt rushed and the explanation of what the various trim levels were and what would suit my needs, made it really simple. The trade in for my car was fair and generous. The car came in when it was supposed to and everything I needed to know was explained to me very clearly. There were no issues in finalizing everything. I was also impressed with the many staff people I met. I was taken on a little tour of the dealership and service dept. and everyone was genuinely warm. Kind of like a family. I usually dread going to car dealerships. This actually turned out to be fun! Thank you again Tony, David who did the closing paperwork, and all of the staff. Sales was okay. There should really be something online to tell you that the car youre looking at wont be ready to go home for a week. Holiday or not getting it a week after buying a car feels weird for someone whos already signed all the paperwork for it. At the very least instead of waiting to tell the service department until after the holiday you couldve told them the Friday I bought it. Wouldve just waited to buy if I had known prior.

Sales here is good, worked well with me to make a reasonable deal, were friendly and helpful. Service department is entirely untrustworthy. Went to them for six years (until my service contract was up) and multiple times they refused to acknowledge a problem existed for as long as possible and then tried to make me pay for it even though the contract I had was able to. Avoid getting service here if you can.

We had a 5 star experience with the Pape sales team. My wife and I were turning in a lease and looking to move into a Crosstrek. Rick in sales was great, he worked with me over the phone first so he had everything ready for us when we pulled in. Rick did a great job listening to our needs and got us the exact trim package we wanted. At no time were high pressure sale tactics used and negotiation was very fair and timely. Rick was thorough, but also very safe with covid protocols and even stayed late to do our final delivery when he had a personal time commitment. We appreciate it Rick!Tim in finance was energetic and efficient while being very personable and easy to talk to. Tim went out of his way to help make our registration process as easy as possible.To summarize, this was a great car buying experience all around, dealership is clean with adequate sales floor and inventory seemed to be great. Could not be happier with our experience at Pape. Danielle was my sales person in 2018 and again in 2020 when we traded in our Crosstrek for a brand new model.Also, My girlfriends newly-retired mother was in the market to trade her old Forester for a new vehicle and Danielle was able to get her into a pre-owned Crosstrek of her own.Danielle spent the ENTIRE day with us and handled every one of our questions and concerns. She was beyond patient in showing us as many vehicles as we needed to make our final decision. Called ahead for wipers for my Suburu Tribeca and was told they had the replacement parts. Drove out of my way only to be told immediately by the woman at the service desk that she didnt know what to do and that I had to wait for someone to get back from break. After ten minutes she finally asked what I needed. I explained my wife called ahead and we needed wipers. She said oh, I can help. To which, she disappeared for another 5 minutes only to return and tell me she couldnt find them. A service department manager and another employee then came and informed me that the one person in the service department who could find the part is MIA and they didnt know where he was nor when he would return. So, in all, three service department employees provided NO SERVICE, didnt page anyone and wasted 20 minutes of my time.

I just purchased a new Subaru from this dealership and it was a great experience. The Covid protocols are top notch with great attention to detail and everything was conducted by phone, text and e-mail right up until delivery. The model of car I wanted was very specific to color, options and custom accessories. It was ready at the dealership as quoted and outfitted exactly as I requested. I was looking around for a Subarau knowing theyre great cars with a long life expectancy. Other dealers such as Partiot-were overpriced when I met with them and in a rush to sign, Lee Auto-led me to a lot that was supposed to have Subarus, and after I borrowed a car and drove out there there were no cars that I requested nor any attendants, and Charlies had a few day lag in responding to my emails. The team at Pape Subaru was really quick at getting me into a car once I shared my preferences. I will note that I went through the pre-approval process and this helped them to help me. The finanace department and sales team seem to have really great internal communication, and someone always got back to me in a timely fashion. I wound up with a really awesome car (more than I was expecting) in my price range with all the trim on a used vehicle with low miles (which I specified). My request for the CarFax was sent over the same day. They negotiated with banks for financing, I stopped by to approve and that was it. The cars alignment was off. I contacted them and the had the car in the next day to correct it and was ready in a few hours. And they contacted a couple days later to check in to see that everything was ok. So I am really confident in the their maintenance team as well. I had a bunch of questions regarding care for the vehicle and a team member put me on the phone with a member of their maintence team to answer all of my questions and even sent me a servicing schedule. This is more than just picking up a car and driving off the lot. I am super happy with all of the positive, proactive, and most importantly reliable staff. Moving forward I know all of my concerns and issues will be resolved with the utmost of professionalism. Props to David, Vinnie, Brian, and Amy!

Didnt expect top-notch service on my FREE VISIT for recalls on my 2014 Forester. But I received the best experience in a car dealership since purchasing my first car in 1977. My car was in and out in no time. In the meantime, Scot treated me like a queen and led me to a clean, quiet spot in which I would work on my laptop. I began going to Pape Subaru out of convenience. Recently I had a concerning experience. Took my car in for routine 36 K service. Told all is well with multipoint checklists marked green and safe to drive following this service for all items. 2 months later, I came limping in to them with brakes completely worn down. Metal on metal. I returned with paperwork documenting recent normal inspection and was basically told too bad, anything can happen in that time. No effort to make amends or apologize. The service manager was abrupt and only interested in my leaving his department. Clearly their multipoint inspections cannot be trusted and I will have the whole car reevaluated elsewhere. It goes without saying I will not be returning.

Great service while buying my Subaru. Sales professionals that I dealt with were prompt and honest and I felt the pricing of my vehicle was fair. While this does not apply to Pape, I want to issue a warning to all future financers...DO NOT use chase bank for an autoloan. This is really my only regret of buying a new car. They are truly the embodiment of a large greedy organization who do not value their customers and will charge you fees at any given chance and provide zero input or help on a customer service level.

Non-pushy help from Mike (Chizik last name I believe) who took the time to hear what I wanted specifically and found it, rather than trying to sell me on something sub-optimal on the lot he could flip faster. Price was near as makes no difference to the lowest I saw within 500 miles of Maine, could not be more happy with the value or experience I got after years of researching my next car. Most importantly, even after the sale was made, continued to help even thereafter with questions etc.

Called a week and a half in advance to schedule oil change and inspection sticker. I’ve been waiting for 4 hours and can see my car still sitting on the lift. Don’t bother making an appointment here, slow service. I made an appointment for 10:30am. My car wasn’t moved from where I parked it til 11:30. I needed an oil change and Maine inspection sticker. I bought their tires for 125$ ea. That’s alright. and I got charged 211$ in labor. I waited in the parking lot for over 2 hours watching my car sit on the lift. I think if I saw people working on my car, I wouldn’t be upset about an $820 bill. Buy your tires somewhere else, get your tires balanced and aligned somewhere else. This place will charge you $70 for an oil change. $100 for a tire alignment.

Not a good experience at Pape Subaru. Team used a $400 in “free service work” to close the deal on a used car - I agreed, since a dealer-installed tow hitch is a good idea (take it to any dealer if issues while towing). They made me wait over a week for the appointment and then, without telling me, they had moved the car down the street to have some cheaper mechanic do the installation!! What the hell? Other mechanic took over 4 hours to say they hadn’t started the job! took the car outta there - still lost a full day of my time. Bad sales, bad team, scam in service. Stay away!

I have experience going to many other dealers, and I could feel that he cared the most. Buying a car is obviously a big decision, and they worked with me to get me what I need and the price that was the most doable. I purchased a used minivan from Pape Subaru a little over a week ago. The sales process was very straightforward, and Jacob was great to work with. A couple days after I drove off the lot, the front brakes started acting up on the minivan. Found a great little used Forester online. Gave them a call. Spoke with Jun and scheduled a visit. Jun worked with me for the entire process and even went through all the work that had been done since they got it in trade. The process was easy and numbers within the deal were made clear. No funny business. After the sale the check engine light came on and they made it right and fixed it no charge. After looking at other dealers in the area they were pretty honest and upfront with no hassles. I would do business with them again.

Service experience: Hurried through my explanation of the cars problem over the phone, which no one bothered to write down. Hurried again while explaining it to someone else in person. Earliest appointment available was 8 days later for a potentially serious mechanical issue. Had another small issue, an intermittent rattle, fixed only to find it now worse and continuous. Then found a new paint chip on a rather new well kept car that was exactly where they were working. When I mentioned it they said, you think that the tech caused that!?! rather than, Oh, Im sorry to hear that - lets take a look. The other two issues were blown off without any evaluation other than a test drive and plug into the computer. If the problem isnt there the instant you look for it, it must not exist. Having some personal experience fixing cars, I could think of at least two obvious additional things to check that would take only a couple minutes. Nope. Again blaming the customer, one issue was deemed to be because I must not know how to drive a manual (Ive never owned an automatic). Pape has too little patience for the art of diagnosis and too little respect for their customers. Despite the small issues with the car itself, my Subaru has been fantastic. Pape is another story.

Buying my Subaru was a fun and simple experience the salesman did a great job of explaining all of the options which was most enjoyable for me. I did not have to spend a week reading the manual! The Crosstrek is a fun, sporty ride. I highly recommend the Pape team beginning to end. They have even checked in with me a couple of times since the sale, which I appreciate.

Veteran salesman Rick ONeal, with whom I had dealt before, again did an excellent job in acquainting me with a newer model Subaru, and in helping me to reach an acceptable deal. He was more of an advocate than an adversary. I enjoyed the test drives in his company, which I would normally insist upon doing unaccompanied. As a result, my experience was very positive at this dealership, and I recommend Rick to anyone.

Everything should be this easy. I made an appointment last week, online, for my 15,000 mile service, which was this morning. I drove into the service bay at 9:30, they wrote me up, I sat in the waiting room with a free cup of tea, and at 10:00 they came to get me. The car was ready.This is my third visit to the dealership for service since I moved to Maine with my Subaru Forester earlier this year, twice for routine service and once when a pebble got stuck behind my wheel. Each time I was taken care of right away, the service staff was friendly and I was on my way quickly.

I would advise proceeding with great caution if you choose to do business at Pape. They did not disclose damage to a vehicle we purchased. When trying to resolve the issue, they have been minimally responsive. The sales representative did not return phone calls after assuring the issue would be resolved. He stated to be working on the problem and ordering what it needed, but there is no evidence of that at all. We are being told we may need to pay for the repair. We are past two weeks since purchasing with no resolution. Very poor business practices and just poor decency and consideration of your customers.

Id give them zero stars if I could. My mom had a faulty wiper, so Pape told her she had to order a bunch of hard to find parts and have the entire dashboard replaced because blah blah blah quoted her over $1000 for just the parts! went to another dealer who fixed the issue for FREE by tightening a bolt. Whats worse is that their service dept has a better reputation than their sales dept. Pape is a joke STAY AWAY there are enough Subaru dealers around that dont play those games. Shame on you, Pape, for trying to take advantage of an older women
