They are always helpful and explain things completely if you need the information. Apparently the computer decides which insurance to put through for RXs. I cannot imagine it’s possible that the staff there are so incompetent that they don’t know how to pick up a phone call.

I have been going here for more years than I can remember. Most refills are stress free and some require more patience than I can muster. Apparently the computer decides which insurance to put through for RXs. Believe it or not the computer supposedly confuses Medicare Part B with PartD. I believe most anything BUT I think there is some human input causing the screw-ups. Most often desk help seem either mystified or downright belligerent to correct insurance entry errors. Prescriptions that are years old and refilled 4 to 5 times per year are suddenly changed for no apparent reason. Usually the MD office is blamed but you would think there might me some inquiry if a longstanding RX quantity is changed. I must admit about half the time it is the MD office who cut refill quantity half by shear inadvertence. The other half goes unexplained. If you have multiple RXs it can be a part-time job to figure out who is changing long-standing RXs. When this CVS operates normally, which is almost always, all goes smooth BUT when there is a problem with insurance entries or quantity changes you will develop a headache sooner than you could imagine. For those of you who read all of this entry: Let me say this CVS has never made an error that was other than a nuisance and then cost me my patience. I get my injections FLU etc and trust their professional competence. BUT I wish the manger reads this and other reviews and makes the occasional complaints become ancient history. The location is very convenient and the STAFF are just about ALWAYS friendly. I still go here frequently, usually without problems.

Moved and have been trying to transfer to this pharmacy but there’s an issue every time. They never update my phone number so I never get calls from them. This recent visit I’m told I don’t have a prescription but what I’m looking for is offered over the counter I explain the prescription was called in so my insurance can pay for it then said I’ll call the doctor cause it’s from a week ago he must not called it in. The. The story changes that there’s a hold of some kind and I have to go to the drop off window. At that point I was so frustrated I just left.

If you ever want to feel like you are losing your mind or being gaslighted by a pharmacy, CVS in Southbury is the place for you. If you want any sort of positive experience with a pharmacy, go to another. Horrible customer service, rude, downright bad business practices.

Just called in to track down a missing Rx transfer into CVS (last week). First, the limited robo answering service argued with me, then put me on hold for almost 20 minutes. Covid, covid, covid. Then someone finally answers, was borderline rude, told me they had no Rx transfer. Did not offer to help me with it. Then I said, would you please let someone know that your robo service is frustratingly limited. She hung up on me. This is why I dont like CVS--but Walgreens, who are amazing and professional is not my insurance provider of choice. I know they are busy, but rudeness and unprofessionalism is never an option. If you dont like working with sick folks, get another job.

Every time I call them, Im on hold for over 10 minutes before someone even picks up the phone. Last time I called it was over 12 minutes. The wait time is tremendous whether you go into the store or go through the drive through. Generally the staff has been nice.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so there must be an issue with the pharmacy’s phone system. I cannot imagine it’s possible that the staff there are so incompetent that they don’t know how to pick up a phone call - “maybe they were busy” - yeah, that makes sense, that explains why I have called this pharmacy 5 times in The last two weeks and been on hold for 20 minutes with no answer every time. Fix your phones, or train your staff on how to answer them!

Absolutely amazing store! The pharmacy works so hard, and the store manager is the best manager ever! She always does such a wonderful job with making the store stay clean, and that her employees are efficiently working! She needs a raise!

I would give zero stars if possible, the pharmacists are completely incompetent, they have actually lied to me about my doctor not sending them the order, I actually watched the doctor send it and receive confirmation, I guess whether you are first or last in your class you still get your license. Wouldnt let them fill a Flintstones chewable prescription. MORONS

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever encountered. Seems to be more of a sorority than a place of professional work. Nobody knows how to do their job. Never had a prescription filled properly. They continuously mess up my scripts causing me to scramble to get a new script on the weekend which is NOT an easy thing to do. Sat on hold for 30 min just for the pharmacy to hang up on me. This is all for a medication that if I don’t take every day I become very sick. They don’t care about anything other than flirting with their coworkers. Absolutely TERRIBLE.

Have been shopping at this CVS since they opened, over 30 years ago. Probably shopped there over 1200 times and have never...not once...had a bad experience, either with the pharmacy or the store. Are they busy at times? Yes. Do you sometimes need to wait longer than youd like? Perhaps. But its not bc theyre slacking. Its bc CVS is utilized by so many people and not just from Southbury! Residents of Woodbury, Middlebury, Roxbury, Oxford, et al, also shop there. And, hands down, it sure beats Walgreens!

Worst service in pharmacy. It took me 30 minutes, with 4 trips to the counter, 3 different people to pick up a prescription that was ready the day before. Staff had no idea what 2 quarts equaled.

An amazing pharmacy staff who truly cares about its patients. They noticeably go above and beyond to be thorough and take care of all their customers needs. The long pharmacy lines are because of its high volume and thorough service. Customers are happy to patiently wait and are understanding. Southbury is an amazing community!

Sadly, the pharmacy here is understaffed and the employees overworked. Friendly enough and they try to be helpful, but its a sophomoric operation. Im in the process of transferring my scripts elsewhere.

Very disappointing experience at this CVS. The manager Kim was not helpful, made gestures behind my back with her co worker watching and doesnt understand CVS own company policies. Its unfortunate that undertrained immature people like that even find themselves in a managerial position. They WILL be recieving a formal complaint.

Prescription drop off is a little slow at this location. They always seem understaffed. At least the employees are polite when you speak with them. Wish CVS corporate would give them more help here, it’s just a busy location.

Felix at the drive thru is a rock star havent met a nicer tech in a long time. Makes me feel like he cares... Rock on Felix. Asks how I am doin and says gave a great day and means it. I its the little things that make a difference. Thanks buddy

Most strange service experience. I was waiting at the counter here for a good 20 mins as my doctor sent a prescription and there were 3 folks inside no one even acknowledged me. Then I reached out and asked and the person cleaning said she will check and another 10 mins later someone finally came to the front desk and asked me if I was picking up. I am a Walgreens customer and the only reason I came in here is because my son needs antibiotics and the prescription was provided after 8pm post the Walgreens pharmacy hours. They were not rude but also not helpful. Guess I will stay a Walgreens customer!

Can I give zero stars? Nothing but frustration from the start. I had my vet call in a prescription for my dog. This CVS claimed they never got a call. I had my vet call again (they also verified they in fact did call the previous day). I verified with CVS that they received this call and went to pick it up. After returning home, I noticed there were no refills, so I called CVS to ask why. Tory the pharmacist answered, and when I asked about refills she said she had no information on the prescription. I told her it was called in that morning. She said no one called in a prescription. I told her I already picked it up. She again said no one called it in. She repeated this several times even though I informed her that I picked it up today because it was called in. After arguing her point over and over again that no one called it in, and that she was the only one who would have received it, she checked with someone else. Surprise! She confirmed that it was in fact called in, but instead of apologizing, she tried to justify her argument. There was no justification. VERY POOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! They need some serious customer service training.

I recently tried to refill a prescription from CVS Litchfield ct. I believe the women I spoke with got approval from my provider to fill the order. The last Filled date on the container was 9/15/2016 but I didnt pick it up till 9/22/2016 because I was on my honeymoon and out of the country.She then informed me that my refill cant be filled on 10/15/2016 because I was late picking up the September order. This will be the second time that I have had to go without my medication for several days because of these date issues.My medical provider has instructed several ways as to how I take this medication in order to reduce dependency and /or increase a dose as to continue to stay calm. This is an anxiety med. Im 58 very health male and I do not abuse any drug or alcohol except for this drug. The prescription should be filled according to the dates from one fill /30 days to the next fill. Why does the pharmacist have the right to fill a prescription based on the date you picked it up. The pharmacist has no idea as to how my doctor instructing me to take this drug nor should she . Just do your job Kristy. I will now change to Walgreen pharmacy.

Unacceptable level of service in the minute clinic. I made an appointment. I received a confirmation and was told by staff that I had 30 min to arrive or I would have my appointment canceled. I promptly arrived 15 min later. And was told I had an hour wait. There is a Walgreens less than a mile away.. do yourself a favor and go there.

I would give CVS less than 1 star If I could. Every time I try a pick up a prescription there is a issue, never fails. Not ready, not run through insurance, printers not working, Dr didnt call it in etc. The excuses go on and on. Then after being on these ridiculous long lines, order is not ready. They say go wait or my personal favorite..drive around and come back. It will be ready. Are you kidding me..I just waited 20 minutes on your drive up window..and you want me to drive around and do it again!!!! No way..I am pulling all my scripts from CVS. I will go to Walgreens or Woodbury. I even complained to manager..complete waste of time. She is useless. Maybe, all CVS is not like Southbury..but I am done with them.

The rudest pharmacy personnel ever. Lied to me, lied to my insurance company. I’ve never had such poor pharmacy service in any CVS I’ve ever visited. Never fix any issues they say they will, never let you know something is wrong with your prescription or that they don’t have the medicine until you show up to pick it up. Poor service all the way around.

Terrible experience... I went to the Minute Clinic, signed in and was given a 96 minute wait. At that time, the sign-in computer said a patient was being seen and then there was a 1 hr lunch break. I left for a while and returned to the store about 45 minutes before my appointment. I was sitting outside the office and could hear the nurse talking on the phone. I recieved a text message from Minute Clinic saying I had a 30 minute wait. A minute later, my phone rang with Southbury phone number, so I answered it. The nurse from the clinic said she wanted to update my wait time and told me that she was going to lunch and had another patient head of me. She told me she could see me in 2 hours. I explained that I was already waiting in the store and that I was sick and had been waiting for a long time already. She said there was nothing she could do and explained she was with a patient, which was an obvious lie. Extremely disappointed with my experience.

The pharmacy has messed up on medications more then 5 times in a matter of a few months!! Some not filled, some double filled, then we r being harassed to pick things up and dealing with rude people on the phone. We are now moving our medications over to walgreens!

Terrible service at this CVS. They had my daughters script for five days never once calling us to say there might be a problem. When we went to pick it up we were told it wasn’t covered by insurance and would cost $206 did we still want it. We needed that day so I said yes then they proceed to tell us they have to order it that they didn’t even have it in stock . Needless to say I was upset I had them check Walgreens to see if they had the medicine in stock and they did. The amazing part was that it ended up not costing us anything at Walgreens! How is it the insurance covered it when walgreens sumitted it??? This isn’t the first time I had a problem with CVS. One time they put the wrong doctor on the prescription bottle and said it wasn’t a big deal. They don’t seem to see a problem with their incompetence! I do not trust them and would not recommend them!

I work for a Dr.’s office - had to call younger sounding female pharmacist to get patient’s medications refilled a day or two early as the patient and her mother were leaving for holiday - which any patient has the right to do that and appeal to their insurance for a day or two early refill for vacation reasons - I had even confirmed with the patient’s mother prior to calling the CVS Southbury Pharmacy- the young female pharmacist made multiple Snyde remarks on how she did not believe any people on this specific medications and they were “always going on vacation”. She was not only being completely judge mental against my patient, she made huge prejudice comments about the type of customer I treat at our facility due to their medication/treatment. In all my years at this doctors office helping clients I have never experienced a young female pharmacist with such despairaging remarks as I encountered when I talked to this young female pharmacist- I have now called my patient’s family and let them know what was said by their pharmacist whom they had already had the sad experience of dealing with her and her despairaging remarks before and are now moving their whole family to another pharmacy. I would warn you as someone who works in a doctor’s office and calls in prescriptions each day - this young female pharmacist is the most demeaning, condescending, unethical, disrespectful pharmacist I have ever encountered over my years in working for a doctors office and calling in prescriptions- heed my advice - DO NOT EVER USE THIS PHARMACY- this pharmacist has no right to make judgement on patients due to their medications- she knows nothing of their medical conditions or why they would be on such medications, and rather than do her job, she will give you the toughest time giving you a refill and then try to talk bad about you with your doctors office. I have the date, I have the time I received a call from my patient and I have the time I called and spoke to this female pharmacist and I guarantee you that I will report her not only to CVS Coorporate offices everywhere but I will also be reporting her to The State of CT Health Commissioner and everyone else in the State of CT who will guarantee this young female pharmacist never works in CT again. To all the Southbury residents - go to a different pharmacy- you do not need your pharmacist talking bad about you with your family/doctor/or neighbor and breaking every HIPPA law out there. I 100% behind this pharmacist being fired!
