The bagels tasted like someone threw upIn them. The bagels are too hard. Bought six bagels, brought them home and now, two days later, they are too hard to eat. Can barely get them open to put cream cheese on them. Maybe I should have them slice them for me. I don’t know if I will visit again. Two stars for the excellent cream cheese and for a nice, clean bagel shop. I don’t know what the other reviewers saw but I can’t recommend this place. Service was okay, but the guy behind the counter was creepy.

They have great bagels - the kind I remember eating when I was a kid and the kind I remember buying in New York. Soft, yet with a crunchy outer layer.Plus, usually when I go in and order one bagel they always throw in an extra one. I dont need an extra one so I always give it away but its a nice touch.

Product is good!Service is very disappointing.Even with an empty store the lady behind the counter rushes you.I ask every time to have the everything bagels put in a separate bag and this last time after I ordered the rest of my dozen she dumped the everything bagels out of the small bag onto the bagels including two sticky raisin twists.I have had the same problem three times now.My choice is not shop here or not get the everything bagel my wife wants....... Rock and a hard place.I am near this shop twice a week and I am thinking I will likely not shop this location again.This has not been an issue at any of the other NY bagel locations. In fact I cannot remember a bagel store where I have ordered and everything bagel that didnt either ask if I wanted it in a separate bag, or put it in a separate bag as standard operating procedure.

Besides all the people thinking waiting in a tiny store is a good idea. Waiting in a line outside must be to difficult to understand. The bagels are good.

New York Bagel has the freshest and best bagels! Even though all of their bagels are fresh and delicious, their Everything bagels are especially wonderful. They also have a variety of heavenly homemade cream cheeses.

Bagels were nice and warm

The bagels are always fresh, the staff is always extremely friendly. In the past when I have gone in the owner would tell me he had fresh bagels in the oven and if I wanted to wait for a couple of minutes I could have nice warm bagels. He would also give me 1 extra when I got 6 or 12 bagels. He was always so nice.

I dont live near New York Bagel but I love it and I go in there every time I drive by. They are always nice and very accommodating

Not sure why all the rave reviews. Stopped here last Sunday to get some bagels and they were not very fresh or flavorful; quite hard actually. Ive had bagels from the Frendale location that were excellent, maybe it was an off day? Will update this review if I have a chance to give them another shot.

Good ol fashioned bagels without all the extras. Love this place. Kind hometown family service. And just really really good bagels.

Employee seemed completely put out that I required change from my order. Huffing rudely at me and mumbling. Ill go elsewhere next time so I dont inconvenience this place with my business.The bagels were just ok.

Ive been coming here for over a decade. Ive lived all over the world, including a miserable stint in New York, and these are world class bagels. Service is efficient and prices are low. Some bagel places are essentially sandwich shops, with every topping under the sun but horrible bagels. If you want a truly excellent bagel, this is the place to go.

I LOVE this place. The bagels are always delicious, the service is always top notch, and the price is good. My office/family/ friends are always happier when I make a pitstop here.

Ive been coming here since I was a child (Im 28 now, so over 20 years!), and these are the best bagels in lower Michigan. I moved 40 minutes away and still make the drive because these are the best bagels Ive ever had!!

I visit the Southfield location, rarely the Ferndale location. The people who are in Southfield are always friendly: recommending products (cream cheese flavors and even letting me know when a bagel is fresh out the oven! I love their bagel and coffee deals ❤

I absolutely adore this place. REAL BAGELS!!! Coming from the west coast this place was a godsend when I arrived in Southfield. Ive had to learn to not ask for them toasted, like a real bagel eater. The staff is super nice and everything is made the old school way, no preservatives, no funky stuff. The only downside is the styrofoam coffee cups are both bad for the environment and cool off really quickly, so definitely bring your own mug. A medium coffee and a bagel with cream cheese is a mere $3.50 - cheaper than any of the chain stores offerings and a thousand times better.

Convenient location, great bagels. Sometime the pricing is not consistent dependimg on whos servicing you on the weekend.

The little boy working there is not that friendly and the bagels are hard and the cream cheese cost too much the strawberry k i n d. He act like I was asking him to go to war when I asked for the strawberry cream cheese he asked me did I want it and I said yes and he had to go from behind the counter to go get it it seemed like it was a problem I didnt feel welcome. Never going back there again.

Going back to Einsteins, Brueggers, or Elaines in Berkley. I made the mistake of getting a dozen bagels from this location and they were VERY HARD and dried out. I put them in a ziploc when I got home too. They were terrible. Theyre bagels, how difficult can it be?

The location on 12 mile and evergreen has gone down in quality it’s dirty inside outdated cream cheese and the new girl that replaced Mike in the morning has the worst attitude ever
