I see nearly 58 reviews here and every single one has given the business 5 stars. There’s a reason for it! I had bows repaired and repaired here recently and both customer service and workmanship were phenomenal! Definitely a place to go for repairs and all but please, try the bows that Tony makes and the violins by John. I tried one of John’s last violins and despite the fact that the “varnish was still wet on it” it sounded like it had been played for years - meaning, the sound was unrestricted, opened up and the violin felt fantastic under the fingers. Great business, professional and high quality work!

I got my bow fixed and rehaired at the Southfield location of AD Bows. I had a pleasant experience and great results! Anthony was very personable and the service was great. Would recommend, and will be coming back for future services.

I bought a violin bow from Tony in August 2020 and it has completely changed how I play. He is an exceptional maker that gives great detail to his work. His rehairs are also the best Ive seen. I highly recommend him if you want quality work done on your bow.

I’ve worked with Tony for a few years now and have not looked back. He’s given me his honest opinion of several bows I’ve trialed and has done several world-class rehairs on my Fuchs and Tepho viola bows. I would not have thought that such dramatic improvement could be had with such notable bowmakers but I was wrong. They both sound and play better than when I bought them. Tony’s work is top notch and his customer service is just as good. He spends time explaining his craft to you and is a careful listener of both your concerns and playing. He counts every single hair and takes copious notes of your bow for consistency and improvement. He’s the real deal.By the way, Tony is a noteworthy bowmaker himself and the last viola bow I tried of his was very comparable to a Mohr or Zabinski. (i.e. good company to be in).I am very lucky to have found Tony, he’s spoiled me for all other shops.

Tony is a wonderful person to work with. I needed an insurance letter and he handled it for me very quickly. Making an insurance claim and hunting for a new bow is not a fun process, but Tony made it as stress-free as possible and I really appreciate that. He has my highest recommendation!

I completely sheared the wood at the tip of my bow during a performance .. bow hair went flying everywhere; and, I handed my bow over to Anthony in two pieces. I didnt think it could be fixed. Anthony fixed it quickly; and, got it back to shape - like new. I cant even tell where the original shear on the bow occurred. I highly recommend Anthonys work.

Tony has helped my son to choose his cello when he was in Psariano and he has an amazing knowledge of all kind of string instruments. When my sons bow had some problem, I had a chance to visit Tonys new shop. He changed the hair of the bow very quickly and professionally. He also gave me an valuable advice how to care the bow, and what to pay attention to. The sound of my sons cello became so nice and smooth, and could finish his concert successfully without losing any practice time. I really recommend Tonys AD Bows, LLC!!

I am lucky enough to have one of Tonys bows. I have been playing with it for ~1.5 years and couldnt be happier. The craftsmanship is exceptional, and when compared with numerous other bows I tried at the same price point, Tonys was clearly superior when paired with my violin. I recently needed to get it rehaired after moving across the state from Tonys workshop. He was terrific with getting the bow safely from me and back to me, and did a superb job on the rehair.

Anthony recently rehaired two violin bows for me. He listened carefully to how I wanted things done, and did an excellent job on both bows. Working on bows is clearly a passion for Anthony and that comes through in the work that he does. There was a profound improvement in how my bows worked after Anthony had rehaired them.

Tony met me to pick up the bows and made it easy to arrange the return. He also loaned us a bow which was great even though the rehair took only a day. Also a reasonable price.

Ive been working with Tony for years. He always gets my bows done quickly, even at times Ive brought them in at short notice. Most of the time Ive brought them in under these circumstances, he has finished them sooner than the expected wait time, and the quality of the rehair is always fabulous and very dependable. The last bow I brought in, since he opened up his shop, was finished in an hour. Its the best rehair job Ive ever had.Tony is super dedicated to making sure all of the customers needs are met, and takes very seriously the needs of people who require their bows for urgent, upcoming performances.
