The community is encouraged to shop local, to support small businesses and help in these struggling times. But when I walk into a small business and I am treated like I do not matter the only recourse is to use social media.The fact that you said a VIETNAM VETERAN had no courage just tells people the kind of respect you have for the people and veterans of this community.Now why you deserve only 1 star.I walked into Nevada small engines with a 2 cycle blower/vac. I needed to find out why it didn’t start or if it only needed a tune up to get it started. When I walked into the store I was not greeted and just did not feel welcomed. After waiting for more than 5 min. one of the people asked me what I needed. I told this person that the equipment needed to be fixed. (Now this is where the SMART A#$ and condescending attitude started). This person told me “ we don’t fix those “. I looked around the store and saw there were many 2 cycle engines. I told him that I thought they worked on small engines. At that time he asked me “DO YOU TAKE A FORD TO A CHEVY DEALER TO GET FIXED ?”. At that time I turned and left. I told my girlfriend outside that Nevada Small Engines didn’t know how to fix it. She told me that we could take it with us to her place in Washington and see if the man that works on her equipment could fix it. He did not have a problem with it. 20 minutes later runs good.Also if you could let the person know that I took a Chevy to a Ford dealer to be fixed. They did fine. I also took my Nissan to a Dodge dealer. So it is not uncommon for someone to think outside the box and help the people of there community and a Veteran of any conflict. Only a person that has not served his country would treat people like that. If you are a veteran you should be ashamed of yourself.Thank you for asking to define my reasoning for giving you the 1star rating. Just asking me so “politely” gave me hope that maybe someday you may have it in you to treat people in this community with some respect.HOW’S MY “COURAGE” NOW?

I hate to see places like this still in business when they have no desire to help the community they are part of. Zero customer service. I tried to call in on Monday, August 16th, 2021 at 3:40 to ask about a new diaphragm for a carburetor on a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower and was encourage to look online. People wonder why everyone buys online now, absolutely no desire to help or look, if I wanted to buy online I wouldn’t have spent my time trying to search local businesses. Sad to see, good luck on staying in business. I encourage everyone to try somewhere else.

I called and asked about bringing my lawn mower in and he just hangs up on me. Poor customer service hes sucks. And let’s tell the truth it was my first time calling and idk what mower you talking about. And I didn’t even yell I asked what time would be a good time to drop it off and he just hung up on me.

I see I’m not the only one talking about this guys horrible attitude towards customers. Clearly he either thinks his business is impenetrable or he needs a stick remover for himself. It doesn’t matter how small a family owned you are if you have horrible customer service, don’t run a business

Had a great experience with them! My husband called to have our lawn mower repaired because it was missing the pull cord since our dog decided it was a chew toy!Very pleasant and helpful on the phone as well as in person.Will definitely come again and recommend this place to others. Thank you!

Stood outside at the door and rang the buzzer as the sign said, but didnt get any response. Rang the buzzer again but still no response. Waited awhile and saw a man inside who came out of the back room, looked at the door, then turned around and went back into the back room. Waited a bit more and said hell with this and left. There was no one else in the place so I know they werent busy with customers. Heck of a way to treat a customer but I will go elsewhere to look for parts.

No customer service. Acted like he didnt want to sell anything. Then, blew me off to help a friend who parked behind me in their Union Pacific service vehicle. Bottom line...The guy has a stick up his behind for some reason...

I work with this business commercially and I have nothing but good things to say. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommend. If you have thin skin and cant handle straight up knowledge and quick business sense, then go to Lowes.

Moved to Reno and needed my Gravely lawn mower repaired. Read the reviews and was a little nervous. However, everything was great. Go in knowing that he will quote you 1 to 2 weeks. He isn’t the cheapest but he is honest and fair. He is very knowledgeable and thorough.Very satisfied with the work done.

So all of these bad reviews dont make sense to me. I bought a chainsaw here and didnt have any problem with the sales process. I said what I was expecting to spend and went home with a nice 20 chainsaw to deal with stuff around the yard, plus you get a quick demo of its features and its prepped ready to use while you wait. If you want parts you really do need to know at least your model number and serial, thats just common sense. Customer service seems to mean different things to different people: some people want no-nonsense service and some people want to have their feelings constantly validated. This is a no-nonsense kind of place.

Its all true! This guy is a rip-off! Quoted $75 to $100 dollars to change a chainsaw chain....when I asked for my saw back (20 minutes later) he charged me ten dollars for filling out the paperwork,,,the irony is that he had me fill in the form! Enjoy your ten bucks Mr. Sunshine!

Went in to have my TORO leaf blower repaired. The same gentleman most other reviewers are commenting on came to the counter and immediately informed me he wouldn’t work on my equipment. He could tell it came from a big box store. He flat out told me he was not going to work on equipment bought from a competitor. I was shocked and didn’t know quite how to respond. I thought I went to Nevada Small Engine not We Service Only What We Sell. A sign outside stating such would be nice.As said by other reviewers, some semblance of customer service would be appreciated. Being “honest” and blunt does not signify good customer service. How about treating potential customers like you want them to be there.

The gentleman who spoke with me was cordial but down to business. He said 1-2 weeks to fix my push mower but was done in a couple of days. Had a nice conversation when I picked it up. Mower working just great now. Would definitely recommend.

A very confident man behind the counter was sure he had the parts I needed, forced me to give him all of my personal information and got irritated when I asked what this was for. Once we went through the whole process he realized he did not have what I needed and started to look at me wondering why I was still standing in front of him.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. old man is so rude and he seems to be owner. The fact that you go out of your way to make people feel stupid about the questions they have is rude and unprofessional. obviously people go in there because they have questions and need help. You should give people knowledge and good customer service. Instead of putting them down. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE. I didnt even get to see what parts they had because he said my description of what I want does nothing for him.I will also be filing a complaint with the state of Nevada BBB for discrimination. ...RESPONSE: I dont ever remember insulting the tech at all.. nothing was said and an arguing conversation never took place. it really must be another person that is never going back there. take a minute too look at the reviews. Im not the only one saying the truth about this place. I went to another ship with the same information I took to yours and they helped me fine.

The WORST customer service . Tried to purchase a Toro blade . Had old blade but no number. Gave him size and model # of mower but was told he couldnt help me . Best stick to Carter Bros at Ace. Walked in told what I needed and they were more than glad to help.

I needed parts to repair an air compressor. The guy in the back looked over what I needed and gave me replacement parts. When I got home and tried to install the parts would not fit. I was given the wrong parts. I went back the next day to return the parts and get a refund. The lady at the counter refused to give me a refund, only a store credit. I argued that they gave me wrong parts. She quickly said if I didnt leave she was calling the police. Dont go to this store they are terrible business people and do not honor common curtesy and just business practices. Plus they threaten to use the the police as thugs to get rid of customers after they have cheated them.

Tried talking to somebody at the shop. He asked me if I bought it there and I told him no. He said shop minimum was a hundred dollars just to look at it and wouldnt talk to me about what the problem might be. Had mower with me and was trying to ask him about part on it and he refused to look at the part. He was very rude and short with me.

I needed some new drive wheels for my lawn mower and because I hadnt bought the mower from them they would not help in the least. I was surprised that the person I talked to wouldnt even recommend one place where I might be able to find some here in Reno. Zero help and I give them a zero recommendation.

I was on hold for an unreasonably long time, so I stopped by, waited to be helped and they refused to help anyone that is not a current customer.Sometimes shopping local isn’t worth the effort. These guys are awful!

Recently acquired a used Husqvarna chainsaw and needed some parts. Conveniently located, and the owner was knowledgeable and friendly enough for my tastes. Seemed like a direct, no nonsense kind of guy. I think some of the other reviews are a little harsh. If you arent willing to pay $12 for a spark plug, maybe you should just throw the machine away and hire a professional. Or if youre shopping for a warm fuzzy feeling and a fake Starbucks smile this is not the place for you. But if you need parts or service on your power equipment, Id recommend them any day of the week.

I should have looked at these reviews before I drove to this store. I was looking for a spring for my lawnmower (I forgot to bring it in, my bad) and the gentleman running the store (not sure if it was the owner or an employee) had zero interest in trying to figure out what I needed. He said that without the part, there was nothing he could do for me. He apparently had other things he needed to get done, which was very apparent by his demeanor, and taking a few minutes of his time to help a customer wasnt something he was willing to do. I would not recommend giving these guys any business.

This guy is a jerk I would have been a return customer, But he is so rude! he hung up on me yesterday because he had a roomful of customers with real questions So I called back today and explained that they had done a service on the same Lawnmower in the past .After he looked up my account, he was just as much a jerk as before . I ill take my business anywhere but there for good .

Came in to inquire about some parts for a Generac generator. I had parts numbers in hope that they could be used to cross reference or easily find an equivalent part. I dont usually leave reviews but this instance felt it deserves a review. I was informed that they did not carry any of those parts. While I have no issue with this, I wouldve appreciated the customer service of at least providing suggestions to help get my motor back to running - even a referral to Napa or in the least an apology for my efforts spent in vain. The owner was extremely rude and unhelpful. Furthermore, the layout of the store is that of a hoarder, half the aisles are stuffed up with product and equipment, leaving no access to half of the stores merchandise. Im honestly not surprised at how low the reviews are for this shop. Dont bother shopping local on this one, go online or go to Napa.

Make sure you get a tear down price/time minimum before they start. My bad for not asking but left a sour taste after paying 130.00 for a not formal quote of more than half the worth of equipment. And to haul a broke down machine away.

Terrible service, when I was there he was disrespecting a customer who chose not to purchase a $12 spark plug. It took two weeks to repair my mower. He didnt start on it until I called. No explanation of what he did for $142.00. He is obviously way too busy. Worst customer service ever

I read the reviews, I took a chance. Yes Ill admit a bit cranky on the entrance, I figure hes been dealing with the general public for a while, it can wear on you. I was informed a deposit was required, and I was looking at 4 to 6 weeks out (expected during peak summer) to my surprise they got it done in 3 weeks. The price was on the upper end but I was ok with it. The lab dog is very friendly, the cranky guy has a soft side and hes a dog lover so he cant be too bad. He thanked me for my business. Im going to use him again if I need. I didnt need it now, I didnt want it for free, I got what I needed thank You!

The older guy at the front desk is a jerk and a racist. He answered my questions in a rude manner and proceeded to follow me arround while I took a look because I am Hispanic. Go to Nevada Power Products instead. The staff there knows about this other shop being terrible and theyll take care of you

Very disappointed with this business, I called to see if they repair Rototillers at first I was told they do, however after e few more minutes on the phone I was actually talked out of having my Rototiller repaired and that The repair guy would call me back to discuss it with me except they never asked for my phone#.
