When I worked in Spartanburg I would often go by Chips place and hang out during lunch. Good camaraderie and very good experienced service. Was like a therapy session. Moved away 6 years ago to Chattanooga but even now if I need clubs I just call and they ship my needs to me. Thats how good, dependable and experienced they are.

Been driving by this place a few times but I didnt know if they were open or closed for business. So finally I went there today and was surprised what a nice golf store it is. They have everything youre looking for. I just had new grips replaced and the service was fast. Good to know Spartanburg has a nice golf shop in town.

When I moved to Greenville area in 97 I asked some people where is the best place to get irons worked on and a guy told me Bypass Golf.. I said “ I looked it up. That place is in Spartanburg” He said “You asked me where the best place is and if you go there you’ll know. He was right. Been driving up from Simpsonville for 24 years for anything I need related to golf. 5 stars every day.

This place has as terrible customer service as I’ve ever experienced. The last two times I’ve come in they have acted like I had no clue what I was talking about. Not only did they question my intelligence when asking about a driver, they basically laughed at the old driver I brought in. They are totally unprofessional in every way. Will not recommend this small minded golf shop to anyone. DO NOT GO HERE.

This is a really unique and wonderful golf shop. The owner is very friendly and helpful and can fit you perfectly with the right shaft for your clubs. They have a great selection of putters and clothing. A great assortment of everything you need to up your game and play fun golf.I would highly recommend checking this out if you need a new shaft new grips new clubs this is the place to go. By Pass Golf is a great place to get your club modified. They are fast and you get excellent quality at reasonable prices. They also have a very good inventory of new and used equipment.

Good golf shop for the most part. I would say if you can do your own club work that would be best. I let them change grips in the past and they would just spiral a piece of tape over the old tape. Sometimes I go in and get a grip and it’s one price, the next day it’s another. More or less it’s a “who you know” kind of shop so if you’re not a regular or in the loop you won’t recieve the best deals or service. They charge full loft and lie price just to check a club even if it didn’t need bent. Of course it might not cost but a $1 tomorrow with a different guy.

Stopped in to get a shaft replaced and to do a bit of trading on a brand new club that I won at a tournament that I couldnt use due to being left handed. Chip was helpful enough during his time there, but had to leave while I was debating on what piece of equipment I wanted to trade on and another man was overseeing the store until closing. Im not displeased that the trade wasnt going to happen in the way I wanted it to, that happens. However, when in any form of retail or sales you never EVER disrespect the customer. This happened after Chip left and because of that I asked for my club that was having the shaft replaced to be given back to me and left without doing any business now or in the future. Im sure this isnt everyones experience, but it should be noones experience thus the 1 star review.
