Great place! Staff is awesome! I wish I had time to try their food! I stopped for a quick glass of wine and I wasnt disappointed. This location is amazing. The place itself is what I envision in my mind as what I would have if I owned a place like this. It was quiet when I got there and a few others stopped in as I was leaving. This place is a diamond, Im shocked it wasnt packed when I got there.

All the food is made from scratch and the coffee is top notch (they carry Intelligentsia.) One of my favourite places.

It’s a coffee shop, and a nice place for lunch, and a wine bar later in the day. Try the Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich (or wrap), it’s an interesting and flavorful twist on the regular chicken salad staple. Staff are Midwestern friendly, with good opinions on what to try. If you’re up for a yummy sugar-based treat, try their desserts! Don’t overlook this “coffee shop” at lunch time!

What has happened to this place? The last few times we have been to the wine bar it is as if they dont want anyone here. This is the perfect place for a wine bar but the outdoor patio is dirty, the tables and chairs are askew and completely empty on a Friday night! Beautiful view on the patio, but owner doesnt seem to know how capture the patrons. Its Friday night at 6:30 and the place is dead. How about some live music to draw patrons to this wonderful site? Management doesnt know what they have here. This is truly a lightning in a bottle place. What a shame. Ill update this review when I can see that they care. Please. I want to see this reach its full potential.

Great view of the little Sioux river, delicious coffee and good choices. I was there when the river was flooded almost up to the out door patio, but it was still a beautiful experience!! I enjoy coming here, I work in Spencer, Im from Missouri, and this place is a nice little get away

We stopped here late in the morning and it was pretty calm with plenty of seats available. Both food and coffee were very good. The view of the river was really enjoyable while there too. Highly recommend stopping here.

The atmosphere and environment are inviting and cool at the Bear Coffee Shop. The coffee on the other hand was underwhelming. The milk for my wifes latte was over steamed to the point where the drink was too hot to drink and the milk was scorched. As a barista myself I was disappointed because scorched milk is easy to avoid with a milk thermometer.
