Found it around the corner from Subway. Decided to poke our heads in this little spot and got a surprise! Its bigger on the inside! Theres a full scale bakery going on in there with amazing creations! The staff was friendly and welcoming and there was bakery stuff going on right in front of us! A cake decorator was creating a unique watermelon design and another baker was dividing a 12ft long roll of dough into precise cinnamon roll shapes. The cake we bought was simply elegant and a perfect balance of flavor and texture. Cant wait to visit them again!

If you’re going to order a cake I recommend calling and not going through the online portal it’s a lot easier! I asked for something simple and elegant for my fiancé’s 28th birthday. They definitely understood the assignment, the cake is so pretty! I can’t wait to eat it!!!

This place is awesome! They took time to sit with us to custom order my daughters birthday cake and get all the details! It came out exactly how she wanted. It was above and beyond what we expected and the price was so reasonable. Will be ordering out cakes for all parties from here from now on :) Thanks for helping make our daughters birthday so special!

Ordered a custom gluten-free and vegan cake and it turned out beautiful and delicious! Ordering was incredibly easy and straightforward. Everyone loved the cake. The frosting was especially on-point. Just wish they had more gluten-free/vegan baked goods available in their daily rotation. Will definitely order from here again!

Building entrance is not marked. I parked in the handicap spot, only to find out that the entrance was to the left of the building, around the corner. And then before I even went to the bakery I looked online to see what gluten free stuff they had. The online menu said that to ask about the options...I was hopeful. Well, they no longer have gluten free breads or meals, unless you want a salad. Well, that sucks because I cant eat uncooked vegetables 😕 so we talked about sweets...they do offer gluten free brownies, cake pops, and cookies. The cookie pictured, is a butter cream sugar cookie that is gluten free. It tasted pretty good...however, huge disappointment with everything else. Especially the entrance thing. I brought it up with the girl that helped me, but she said that there was only so much they could do.I probably wont return just because of that comment.

I went into this bakery to order a cake. I was very unpleased with the customer service given to me. I had to ask the worker to speak up twice because she was so far away. I was simply just looking to order a traditional rectangle cake with decorations a week in advance and was told that was not enough notice. On my end I tried to ask for further days away and then she proceeded to tell me they weren’t accepting cake orders. My question to you is why wouldn’t you start with that before looking at my ideas and asking when I’d want it by. Very very unpleasant customer service. I’ve heard very terrible things about this bakery and now I will have to agree. Please figure out how to treat your customers with the upmost respect and work around both schedules to keep your business running.

Amazing baked goods and food. Came here Friday with my girlfriend on a date and got some cupcakes and cheese cake for later and got their lunch special. A great amount of food for a decent price. Just look at this GREATNESS!!!!

Lilac city bakery is amazing! They made my wedding cake in 2019 and perfectly fulfilled my vision. It was by far the best cake I have ever had and my friends are still raving about it.I recently ordered another cake for my sons 1st birthday. He has a milk allergy and they still amazed me with a delicious cake and within just a few days.Highly recommend!

Was disappointed that selection was primarily cupcakes but bought some. If youre going to claim cupcakes as your specialty better make a good frosting. Frosting was gritty. I can make a better one at home

As a gluten free (wheat intolerant, not celiac/gluten allergy) person it has been surprisingly difficult to find reasonably priced, quality, tasty desserts that arent vegan, too dry, all butter, overpowered with nuts/oats, or costing an arm and a leg. I had a gluten free brownie, sugar cookie, and cake pops. All were delicious, reasonably priced, and worth a return visit.

We wanted to support a local bakery. So many people gave us great reviews about the bakery. But we are incredibly disappointed with these 24 cupcakes that we were charged $98 for. They were sloppy and off-center and quite frankly in embarrassment. We ran to another bakery after we picked these up and bought French Macrons to off set these tiny poorly frosted desserts at our daughter’s bridal shower.

I submitted a photo from Pinterest and the baker made the cake the exact same. It was amazing. Everyone was asking where I got it. The cake was so delicious as well. We are very happy with them, and will be back in the future. Thanks!UPDATE: I went to Lilac City Bakery for a baby shower cookie set up. They off course did amazing once agian. They were even able to make vegan cookies for the mom to be. They are now my go to for special bakery items.

I stopped in to check it out, Im completely underwhelmed. The service was mediocre and the flatbread was soggy, limp and barely above room temperature. It was shoved in a box with a salad, good thing it wasnt hot!There is only one other table in here that has already been served, so I dont think it will a matter of timing. The baked goods smell good, but very pricey. No thanks

We just visited this place and loved it. It seems like a super tiny place from the outside but is actually a good sized bakery. There is seating both inside and outside. There are a large variety of unique, creative baked goods including, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, rolls, and cakes. They make pretty much any custom cake if requested with a few days notice. For the actual breakfast and lunch menu (aside from the baked goods) there are only a few choices but they were all good. Definitely worth trying if you love baked goods.

I cant speak for every item but the cookies Ive had were very disappointing. Wheres the real butter? First ingredient in the snickerdoodle is hydrogenated oil, no thanks. It was stale and I didnt even have more than one bite. The frosted sugar cookie I had was ok but the frosting itself was pure shortening with no salt and not tasty. Sweet Frostings wins every time!

Breakfast here was amazing. We were almost done when I remembered to take a quick picture of my husbands panini. I had gaucamole toast. This will definitely be our new favorite breakfast stop for us.

Your desserts are top shelf. Your lunch, presentation, service, attention to detail was subpar. I would not go to lunch there again and would not recommend anyone to have lunch there.

This place would be decent for a cup of coffee and a pastry. The customer service is lacking significantly. They have items displayed on screens which rotates through. The gal behind the counter asked what she could get for us. Asked her if the breakfast items on the screen were the only items available. She responded with i dont know I cant see on this side.I told her we would need to see the menu rotate through then. It took my 6 year old daughter asking if they had tuna sandwiches and then asking what kind of sandwiches they do have for her to offer a menu....As far as the food goes the baked goods are pretty good as you would hope from a bakery. The breakfast sandwhich was ok but nothing special. The coffee was also ok again nothing special. Top that with the high prices and makes it hard to want to return for anything other then baked goods to go.We ordered:2 cupcakes- good1 lemon bluberry bread slice- very good1 breakfast sandwhich - ok not worth the price1 maple bar - ok but husband said the donut shop in north spokane is way better1 20 oz vanilla latte- acceptable3 juices- bottled juiceCost $33

They made my daughters 3rd and 4th birthday cakes! Both were out of this world! Not only did they look incredible but they tasted amazing! This year I got a two tier. Top was chocolate chocolate. Bottom was strawberry with strawberry cream cheese frosting. AMAZING! So good I cant even. Plus everyone loved it. If you want something great with that wow factor Id go here. They do anything you want!

Fruit pies have always been my least favorite dessert, but then I had a cherry pie from Lilac City Bakery and it changed my life! Ok, maybe not my life, but my opinion of fruit pie. Y’all it is not like any pie filling I’ve ever had. It was perfectly sweet and not at all syrupy, gelatinous, nor thick. The pie crust was beautifully latticed and perfectly light in texture. If you want the most wonderful summer treat, pick up a cherry pie form Lilac City Bakery and serve it up with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream, it will not disappoint.

I really like the cake pops that they give to white dog in the valley. I have never personally been into this bakery though.

Was super excited to choose from several gluten free and dairy free items as well as vegan options. Everything was so good and since we were there at happy hour we only spent $8 on the 4 items we got!I got a gf df brownie with chocolate frosting, gf df lemon blueberry muffin and my partner got eggnog cheesecake (he just started drooling at that point) and a carmel mocha cupcake. We will definitely be back!

Im glad to have found this bakery, they are always polite and the food is really good! Today they were made me a yogurt parfait on the spot as they didnt have any left. Super nice! Try them, you will like them!

My fiance and I made an appointment a month in advance for a cake tasting/consultation with the owner for our wedding. The owner was so pleasant, helpful and excited on the phone when booking the appointment. I had asked ahead of time if my parents could come, making four people coming, she said no problem!We looked forward to the day of the tasting the entire month leading up to it! On the day of, we were greeted by very kind employees but they obviously were not expecting us. We were seated at a table, then we were asked to move to a different table a few minutes later. A plate of three hard cupcakes (I myself bake, and these were obviously not baked that same day) were placed in front of us accompanied by an assortment of unlabeled fillings. A lovely employee sat in front of us with notebooks and before she even introduced herself, she apologized that we would have to bear with her since this is her first wedding consultation. She was very sincere and I realized in that moment that this was not the fault of the employees that were working there that day; the owner had forgotten us. The employee did an excellent job, but I cannot stress enough the fear I had that if we booked Lilac City for our wedding, that we may be forgotten. Additionally, I gave the employee my number (watched her write it down) to give to the owner so she could call me and we could work this out. The employee informed me to expect her to call on Monday. No call.I wanted so badly to get our wedding cake from Lilac City Bakery, but unfortunately, myself, my fiance and both of my parents will never be returning to that bakery.

Also bakes for Celebrations in the valley.High priced items that were pre frozen not made with real butter and cupcakes are dry. Purchased a cupcake couldnt eat it, purchased a snickerdoodle it tasted like stale lard, couldnt eat it. Twice the item tasted freezer burnt. You can make all you want from scratch and then claim that but when you freez them afterwards YOU CAN TASTE THE FREEZER. And the cupcake dough changes consistancy stale. Bake only what you can sell in a day. Thats why bakery sell DAY OLD BREAD because the quality is degraded.

A true Bakery. The cakes looked marvelous. My husbands salad was very good. My bagel was doughy and tasteless.

We have been getting our cakes done for my daughters birthday for the last 5 years! They make it vegan for us for an affordable price (although I wish they would work on fondant being dairy free, it can be done). The designs always come out better than expected, the skill of the artist is incredible and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Will continue to get our cakes here, more often now that we have another birthday to celebrate.

This place is so good, and so cute on the inside. I highly recommend for breakfast! Haven’t tried their lunch yet, but the cupcakes are fantastic!

Had a cake made there got it home and it fell apart, they were nice enough to remake the cake the next day. 2 hours later the icing all fell off the cake. I think for the price of the cake I would expect something better then that. I dont know if I would waste my money there.

We came in on Sunday morning for the first time and were very pleased with the quality of food and service. I had a cinnamon roll which was absolutely delicious and the girl working the counter was very polite and friendly. We plan to go back for regular visits.Have to update. Returned the following Sunday and had a completely different experience. Different help at the counter = poorly warmed roll and inability to make a cappuccino. Still friendly but inconsistency will most likely keep us from returning.

Our new favorite. We stumbled upon this bakery looking for a breakfast sandwich. What we found was a GREAT sandwich. Savory taste, delightful crunch on the homemade bread and very fluffy and flavorful eggs. We bought a sugar cookie bigger than a plate. It was perfectly baked, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and the frosting was wonderful. We will be back.

I went here on December 4, 2020 to get some Christmas cupcakes as seen on Facebook. I went in, shocked at what I saw, no Christmas cupcakes! We then left, nothing in hand.

I have been here many times, but this past Saturday wasnt good. Took quite a while to get help, no clean tables and slow service. Some one had their child working with them in the assembly area. And a drink and half eaten burger from a fast food place on the counter?? Disappointing.

Had a perfectly made panini for lunch. The soup and salad were both quite good as well. Overall a great bakery and lunch spot that made a sound first impression. Ill upgrade to five stars if they get a tad faster. Will definitely return soon.

I bought a cake pop from wake up call whom got them from lilac city bakery and there was 3 hairs in my chocolate chip cake pop

Unfortunately, my favorite coffee place, wake up call, exclusively started carrying their products a while back. Every single thing I’ve tried from this bakery, cookies, cake pops, scones, etc. taste like they were made by a 4 year old that accidentally spilled play-dough in the batter. Every single thing has been disgusting - dry, flavorless or bizarre play-dough flavor, odd consistency, etc. I don’t know how they’ve been a bakery this long or how they convinced such a successful coffee place to carry their repulsive products. I hope you guys go out of business soon.

Bought a red velvet cupcake with butter cream frosting. The cupcake was dry and flat tasting. The buttercream frosting was terrible. Tasted like shortening with sugar. Wont go there again.

Based on the location, I did not expect what I saw when I walked in. I had expectations of walking into a quick sandwich and cupcake shop that would emphasize quick snacks on the go. I experienced a modernized quaint styled bakery. Immediately greeted warmly by the employees, I was happy to not get brushed off as I questioned the intentions of the decor. They were happy to let me observe them make the finishing touches on the beautiful cake they were preparing for an upcoming wedding.The Food: A+Affordability: A+Atmosphere: A+Recommend? YES! Guacamole Toast + add ons!Truly a flower within the city.

Visiting from Seattle and just happened upon this bakery after leaving Dutch Bros. The salted caramel chocolate cupcake was delicious and my son was very impressed with the large chocolate chip cookie!Well be back when in town!

There are several pros and cons I experienced with the food here. The desserts were delicious. My favorites were the cupcakes and raspberry oat bars. The paninis were huge and soup/salads were good. We picked a loaf of bread that ended up having raw dough in the middle and got a free replacement loaf and free lunch.

I ordered a simple sandwich for lunch and it took them 20 minutes to make it and put it in a box. The place wasnt busy when I came in. Their soup is thickened with way too much corn starch or flour to the point it wasnt edible. The sandwich tasted good which is what saves them from only getting one star. The muffin I ordered was over cooked and dry but it tasted ok.

I ordered my wedding cupcakes through them. They lost our first order form from the tasting. Then, made the cupcakes without the filling that was on the order form. We ordered 108 cupcakes, all with filling. I called after the wedding when I found out, and they gave me a refund for only $22.50. Completely ridiculous. Do not recommend.

I visited Lilac City Bakery for the first time yesterday after purchasing a Groupon deal. For almost $20, I was able to get a slice of cheesecake, two macarons, a scone, a muffin, and a sugar cookie. Portion sizes are generous. The bakery itself is very cute and clean with an open layout so that employees are able to see customers as soon as they walk in. They have a huge selection of baked goods with a great variety of flavors. Staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. Everything we purchased was fresh and well-decorated. My only complaint was with the cheesecake... It was pumpkin flavored and had a good level of spice to it but I would’ve liked it to be a little sweeter. There was a swirl of buttercream around the edge which was super sweet. I would’ve enjoyed it more with no buttercream and more sugar in the cheesecake itself. Texture was perfect and crust was yummy, just a little tweak in flavor would make it an awesome slice of cheesecake. My favorite thing was definitely the birthday cake macarons! I purchase much smaller ones often, from a different bakery, for the same price. These were a way better value and had the perfect combination of crispy and chewy like you’d expect from a good macaron. I’ll definitely be back again!

I walked in and there were at least 4 people and no one said hi or welcome. The girl that checked me out acted like she needed a quad shot and barely knew anything about the place. I got a breakfast sandwich that I could not finish because the eggs had so much salt and pepper on them I could not taste the bacon. As far as dessert variety you can find it all in a grocery store. Not impressed and will not go back.

I really, really wanted to love this bakery! Ive worked in bakeries for years. I ordered a smash cake for my sons 1st birthday. The ladies I spoke with were so kind and helpful! When I went in to pick up the cake, the bakery itself was so cute, and clean, and had a really great environment. Again, the lady at the counter was great.I had sent in a picture of an idea for the cake, and it turned out just like the picture!The problem...Is that the cake didnt last overnight until my sons party. When I got it out at the party, the frosting was crunchy hard. My son wasnt able to smash it.And THANK GOD because the inside was filled with toothpicks! Not okay for an infants smash cake! My BF was telling my to smash his face into the cake, I didnt because the frosting was so hard. But its a good thing because he would have been seriously hurt.If they would have maybe said something to let me know the toothpicks were in there, I wouldnt be so upset about it. But no one said anything. Smash cakes should not have toothpicks in them...defeats the purpose.

Pretty chill for lunch, they have a smaller selection for lunch menus since this is mainly a bakery, the South western panini is great and it’s a nice place to read a book and have lunch.

Customer service was a negative. The breakfast panini was a joke-previously frozen & reheated in microwave, plus very greasy.

AAAAAAAAA-MAAAAA-ZIIIIIINNNNG!!! I COULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED A MORE PERFECT WEDDING CAKE! Lilac city bakery had everything PERFECT, from flavor to presentation, they had everything down and transitioned my vision to a reality seemlessly. The fondant flowers were made beautifully and color matched to the exact color i wanted, Great job and highly recommended. I so wish i could add a million pictures here to visually articulate how much perfection happened here but i tried to compensate in verbage, PERFECT. We sampled several cake shops and they really capitalized on the overall experience. They had several cake squares to sample with fillings and let us take extra home in a box, i cant go on enough about the presentation and flavor though, exceptional
