I live very close to Harter House. I do like the more old fashioned type of shopping there. They Actually have check out registers. I however really miss their bakery they always had. Not sure why they did away with that yummy department. Sarah Tyler

This is the place to get your meat. The staff working with the meats are friendly, professional, and theyre accommodating. We were told by a friend about this place, and Im so glad we went. The beef we got was much better quality than where we usually buy our meat from. We will definitely be back.

We are from the STL area. Any time we get to the Springfield area, we have to stop and get the hotdogs. We have not found any around us that compare. They are awesome.

Great deli, but I went in for a sales item. They were out the next day the sale began. I asked for a substitute, but the meat department acted like they had no authority to do anything involved with the rest of the store. They told me to just ask to see if someone could help me up front. The basic impression was good luck.

I live right down the street, so this is my neighborhood grocer. I would much rather go there than walk into a Walmart or even Price Cutter, and I dont even mind to pay a little extra for the stuff, because theyre small and convenient. However, I will say I consistently am disappointed by the evening workers. Every time I go there after 8pm, the open sign is NEVER on. The first time I remember that happening I saw it wasnt on and I kept driving because I assumed they were closed. The next time, I saw there were still people going in, so I checked the website, hours said open till 9pm. So I went inside. I realize the kids are trying to clean so they can get out of there, but the way youre treated after 8pm is not customer service. Last night was the final straw! We got there at 8:20pm...again, open sign was off...there was a kid on some sort of machine, buffing floors or something, going up and down the isles. We walked down an isle to look at some things and he was coming up the other way. He just stopped and stared at us. We literally had a 1 min. staring competition. It was so awkward. He was looking at us as if to say, can you move?! To which we held our ground, because it was 8:30, the store is open, and we are here to shop! Luckily the cashier gal was very nice, so that made up for it, but I think its poor customer service to be treated like a nuisance if you come in after 8pm. Response: It was the location on Republic road. Im wondering if the open sign is broken. I drove by Sunday at 7pm and the sign was off.

Place looked clean and staff was friendly. Store relatively small but seemed to have almost anything you may need, and even some things I didnt see in other stores. Prices for meat and few other items were really good. I wish they would sell bunches of fresh dill(kinda like bunches of cilantro) Springfield has pretty big Russian community which would buy it all(especially considering no other stores sell it) plus it goes well with meats and fish which this store speciality.

Love the harter houses, best meats around, very helpful staff, quality meat, and family owned and operated, I like the mom and pop stores and will always help support the small businesses instead of Walmart, Walmart makes enough money its time they start sharing the wealth

I purchased Tyson fresh chicken on April 30 with a sell by date of May 4. The Harter House sticker had been put over “best to use or freeze by 2-21-2021”. It was on sale, but nowhere did it say it was previously frozen. I bought it to freeze, however I now have to cook it. This is very deceiving. When I talked to the meat department manager I was told this is standard practice.

Clean well stocked with the groceries and goodies with a friendly staff. Beer and wine, meats, fresh fruits and vegetables cakes and pies. Not just a pit stop. Highly recommend

I love harter house. Their house breakfast sausage is wonderful and usually very reasonably priced. It has the feel of a small town grocery store. Plenty of people to help you and theyre all very friendly. Best meat selection in town and best quality.

This is where I purchase all my various meats. The meats here are just so voluptuous and eatable. The filet mignon leaves my mouth watering. The shrimp leaves me in tears. This place is the best.

The produce was varied and perfectly ripe. The meat department had a lot of variety as well and was cheaper than anywhere else in town. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We are new in town and have found our new favorite store.

Great little supermarket, known for their butcher shop and meat selection. Absolutely recommend if you are looking for a great butcher shop. They have been around since I was kid in the late 70s, at least, and have several more larger locations now.

Harter House Supermarket is not large. It does have great meat. Groceries are reasonable, with specials every week. With their smaller size, my wife can even get in and out I less than 45 minutes.

We love this place. Weve shopped there many time, and stock up with lots of their meet.

They only had two tri tips left until the next day. Wow! Why isnt there a cattle chute behind the store? Overall the store was tidy. I was becoming irritated at the Zambonie driver as he refused to go around customers, rather kept asking everyone to move. Politely I might add. My meds were running out of my system for the day, so it was probably me. 🙃

Oh my goodness. I love this store. I always felt that it would be so expensive. But its not that bad. It has clean vegetables that are always fresh. Shelf are well organized. People friendly. Their meat counter is the best around. Sales !! You need to go in and check them out if you havent already. Easy to get into even with wheel chair or walker. Also if you need help getting your groceries somrone will help you. Love them at this store.

Have been customer for 15 years since moving to Springfield. I’m 86 and a cancer survivor with Auto Immune Disease so am high risk for Covid . Today woman defiantly standing at meat counter no mask and no social distancing. Please enforce your mask rules as you advertise for the rest of our sake. One person can infect many and cause death. Your safety rules are why many of us trade there.

My go to place for good meat. I try to buy as much of my meat as I can here. Its the only local grocer that rivals the quality of farm raised meat at a reasonable price.

For a while now its been too expensive for the cuts of meat and the ground meats yall have on hand. yall also have less variety of the things i buy. seasonings, sides and produce. I love the staff and the cleanliness of your store but honestly would rather drive to nixa harter house with their prices. I use more gas but save the difference at least in the process on meat there. I have a large family and a budget that cant be stretched. still a great store just not for my budget. I buy so much at once it actually just works out better to travel the 6 miles almost.

I believe this is their best store. The prices are great. It is a fact that some meat prices are more expensive compared to other stores but it is beautifully priced for the quality, Amazing fresh steaks and vegetables and for people who cannot eeat processed foods or gluten, since all of their food is fresh, the options are endless! The employees are very sweet!!

This was one of the Best shopping experiences ive ever had. The meat counter was like Christmas. We live an hour away but brought coolers and i cant wait to sample everything. The Tbone steaks were the absolute best ever. Look forward to going again.
