My daughter takes drum lessons here and we absolutely love it. Her instructor, Tim is so knowledgeable and great with kids. The atmosphere is very comfortable while waiting for lessons to begin and during lessons.
Excellent place. I always buy musical equipment from here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The teachers there are also amazing at teaching guitar.
This place is well worth the drive from Peoria. Great product and service and from the owner himself, not some silly kid. A must visit for all musicians.
Service from the Rock Shop has been fast and friendly at a reasonable price. I havent purchased instruments or supplies from them. The hours could stand to be more accommodating for people who have day jobs.
Great selection of New and Used Guitars. Prices are fair. Knowledgeable Staff.
Real musicians helping others love music. Quality instruments, supplies, service. These guys are great.
Thought this place was cool and a good way to support local business. I hate leaving bad reviews, but they attempted to sell me used instrument cable and failed to repair a speaker while still charging me a deposit. They worked to convince me the cable was just opened until I noticed the ground had been pryed off the plug end. Their inventory is very low and now I see why. Also, upon dropping off the speaker they were super cool and convinced me they could definitely fix the problem. Zero help in the end, only gave them 18 bucks for not doing anything or selling me anything. :(
Jay is my daughters guitar teacher and has gone out of his way to accomodate her lesson time. Shes been thrilled to have him as a teacher. The whole shop has been very friendly everyone Ive been in the place.
Always love going in there! Todd and the guys have always been hospitable to me even when I bet they didnt think Id buy anything! Love my Les Paul, my Crybaby from Hell, my regular Crybaby, my cords, my Petrucci Picks and anything else I bought here while doing buisness since the late 90s.
I’m a local poser-musician-wannabe. I blow lots of money on music gear mostly to collect dust and annoy my neighbors. Rock shop has been around since my childhood and I have a lot of love for them. Keeping a music store going in a strange town like this, in the age of prime delivery, let alone growing like they have, clearly a mark of hard work and dedication. They support a lot of local talent by hosting lessons and even sometimes live events. However, I’v always been kinda sad at the general vibe of the place. They got that angry old sound-guy vibe, if ya know what I mean... Fair prices, though many things are marked high and you gotta talk them down, which is a huge turn-off for me. Id rather be able to compare items and know what the real price is without bringing a sales guy into the situation. If you ask an atypical question, prepare for a condescending answer. ve bought plenty of things here and will continue to shop here, but more-so as a last resort. I’ve literally walked in, no other customers in the store, two guys chatting at the counter: totally didn’t even say ‘hi’ or ‘welcome’ or any sort of acknowledgment. I stood by the cymbals trying to crack the price-code of what they REALLY would change, for over 7ish minutes, never approached me to see if I needed help. I made long eye contact with them as they chatted, for around 20 seconds, no acknowledgment. I walked out and drove across town to the Music Shope; where was greeted by NAME, as I walked in.
Nice little music shop with one of the coolest business cards Ive seen, its picks
