While getting my oil changed in early July by a different auto shop, a variety of vehicle maintenance issues were flagged. Rather than just going back to that same place, I figured while I was out of town later that month, I would leave the car with a friend - Mr. Edwin Lazo over at Sugar Creek Auto - to get their professional opinion.Whenever their multi-point inspection was finished, I received a link via text with a tour of my vehicle and their findings! Using an easy to interpret traffic light color-coded key, I was able to view photos of the car parts that were flagged. Not only did they show me those photos, but it went on to explain the importance and function of the part itself, what is at risk whenever the part is malfunctioning or not performing at its best - all in simple little video snippets that would make a toddler understand!The problem I ran into was now having two different inspections with different maintenance suggestions and not knowing which report to rely upon. Not to keep me confused for long, Edwin was available to help sort out those differences both over the phone and via text (whichever one I was best accessible with at the moment), as well as help echo the prioritization of the suggested repairs.Putting my trust into the hands of Sugar Creek Auto, I decided to have them hold onto my car and make the repairs as suggested. Despite needing a few parts to ship in from out of state to make the repairs, to my surprise, they loaned me a vehicle to use while my car was in the shop - no additional fee! When my vehicle was ready for pickup - again with the surprises - they had it washed and polished, too!Through their clear communication and problem solving processes, as well as their generosity shown for an average customer like myself, to say that Im grateful for them taking care of me in full is an understatement. We use Sugar Creek Auto for repairs for the transportation bus at my senior community. After several pleasant conversations with the technicians here, I decided to take my car to them for my inspection and oil change and they did not disappoint! They squeezed me in last minute on a Saturday which means a lot to me since I never know what my work schedule will be. They got me in and out in an hour and also made some recommendations. Unlike other shops, the technician at Sugar Creek Auto showed me exactly why he was making the recommendations and I knew it was something that needed to be done and not just a way for him to increase my bill. I have owned cars and trucks for over 40 years, so I have had over 40 years of experience dealing with auto repair shops, both dealer and stand-alone. For the most part, I have found them to be unreliable money-grubbers. I can thankfully say that Sugar Creek Auto is the complete antithesis of such classification.I am in the process of getting the truck in the attached photo back onto the road as a daily driver, so workmanship, responsibility, honesty, and cost are very important to me. I have found Nick Dixon and his crew to be the finest examples of all of these characteristics; I really do not think that their commitment to these characteristics can be matched in the local auto maintenance market.If you are looking for a shop to do work, or even if you are not but are at all curious to know how the great ones approach their work, you owe yourself and your finances a trip to Sugar Creek Auto. After finding this location on Google I went for a consultation and they quoted me $2500 to fix my heater. My AC was working fine it would just not get hot. So I dropped the car off and they had it for two weeks. When I picked up the car heater was not hot but it was warm. They told me I needed to run the engine some more and it would get warmer. A week later I turn on my AC and now it’s throwing water at me so I took it back to the shop and they told me they had to clean out the drain. Now my car has no AC or heat. $2500 just wasted. I should have taken it to The dealership. I was trying to support a local small business before a big dealership but it backfired. Please be careful if you decide to use them in the future.

I’ve been a customer of Sugar Creek Auto for the lifetime of my car. The guys there have always taken care of my every need for a reasonable price, and this time was no different. I usually deal with Nick, but this time Edwin took care of everything. He was able to get my car towed to the shop and started up no problem, and even replaced my battery under warranty. He was also kind enough to break in the battery and do my state inspection that was due that week. The whole thing only cost me $200—much less than I had anticipated. Upon picking up my car, he was able to give me good advice on getting the most from my aging vehicle and some tips on the new car I was planning on replacing it with. All in all, it was a great experience and in line with every other experience I have had there over the years. Kudos to Edwin this time around!

Great services at a fair price. Staff are friendly and helpful. They always go above what you would expect. My battery died on a Saturday and they sent a person to trickle charge the battery and then install one. I asked them to review systems that may need repair and they did so without charge. They provide service you can trust.

I just called to get a quote on a tune up on a simple vehicle and the lady couldnt give q price she said that they need a lot more information on my vehicle... I gave the year, make, model and engine size... doesnt seem like a mechanic shop that has much experience.. I wouldnt/ didnt come to this shop...

I am based in Austin and was investigating a used car purchase in Houston. Nick and his team performed a pre-purchase inspection. The price was very reasonable, he was extremely thorough with pictures and details. He followed it all up with a phone call, email with information, and a text to the report. Went here to have my tire plugged and a break light switched out, great customer service. However, I asked how much to replace a break light on my truck that I had my own light and I was informed free of charge, but at check out the service person took it upon himself to use the store product and so I was charged $20 for a service that I didnt ask for. I paid and said things happen, but had he asked before hand to make sure things would have worked out perfectly...still I will try them again. Second Chances.

When I spoke to Nick on the phone he was Friendly and very good about explaining the details I asked for regarding the service I needed to have performed. When I arrived for my appointment, they were very friendly and got me right in. The Facility was very organized and had a comfortable waiting area. The shop seem to be clean and organized. When the service was completed, The service tech (Julio ) brought my vehicle out and explained to me the details of what was done.

I own a business and we bring all of our service vehicles here as well as my personal vehicle. REAL RATING - PLEASE READ - Not an honorable shop – beware! Other posts must be from the owner!Okay, I have a nice, will kept Pontiac G8. I went here to get my car inspected. The shop manager, Chad, came out to speak with me upon competition of the inspection - - - with a quote for new tires. He handed me the unsolicited quote and explained that I would need my tires replaced soon. The quoted “out the door” price was reasonable (they included a swap out the best used tire for the spare tire) - and I was aware the tires were needing to be replaced, so I made an appointment.On the day of the appointment, I again reminded the service tech to attend to the spare tire.They mounted and balanced the four tires and proceeded to give me the invoice……which was $17.11 more than what was originally quoted. They also failed to swap the tire with the spare. I mentioned these facts to Chad and he took my car in the back to get the spare swapped (he also took my money). They used the worst of the tires for the spare (of course, they sell the used tires to the secondary market). When I called Chad on this he took me to the back and showed me the tire they removed from the spare rim and he showed me the other tires they removed. This act pissed him off………..I left the shop and went home to collect the original written quote (I should have taken it with me to the shop). I also checked the pressure in the tires, which were EXTREMELY over pressure – 50 psi.I returned back to the shop where the OWNER greeted me in the driveway. I explained the tires were over-inflated and that I was over charged. He gave me all sorts of excuses why the bill was $17.11 more than the quote, claimed that I was unreasonable. He was quite aggressive and immature with his tone. He ultimately agreed to refund me the money (claiming that I was “pulling one over on him”) and adjust the pressure in my tires. He gave me the cash, fixed my tire pressure issue, then told me to never return to his business again. I dont like getting one price and then charged another. Nice way to do business????????? BTW, Chad stayed inside during the conversation because, and I quote from the owner, he is to pissed to deal with you.Seriously, how does this place stay in business?Later I noticed that I also had one scared rim from the amateur instillation of the tires. Wish I would have taken a picture of all the rims before the instillation.Typical auto shop BS..................Stay away, you have been warned!!!!!!!!

These guys are hands down the best in the Sugar Land/Stafford area! We had an issue with a used vehicle that we bought and these guys went to bat for us. They diagnosed and quoted what it would take to fix the vehicle, spoke to the dealership on our behalf, and then got the work completed ASAP. They are friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable. All of them said we do not work on my type of truck they do not have a mechanic that knows about this vehicle . Another words nobody knew how to work on a carbonated classic engine, a basic v8 350 stock motor a Chevy C10. These guys did. Having an older car requires more maintenance so I have been there several times and have been very pleased with the outcome! Last repair took several days and they gave me a loaner car to drive while mine was in the shop...very nice! Worst place ever, stay as far away from this place as possible... they are very unprofessional. They prejudge you by the car you drive if you drive luxury you get 5 star treatment if you drive a Honda the most the way to you is the total. I left there with my tires basically done and no one told me that... instead they gave the lady before a whole 5 minute summary of her vehicle. I hate to say it but I think it may have been a skin color issue. Never support them! And I heard when you leave a bad review the owner calls you and curses you out... I wish he would call me, I will report him to Mayor and Mobil Corporate. This place needs to be shut down.

They stand behind their work and do not have any inspection/diagnostic fees etc...The way I was treated by Chad and his staff was amazing...I will go back to them over and over again. I was a few miles over my service interval today and called Sugar Creek Auto for an appointment. Nick was gracious enough to squeeze me in at noon, same day. Chad, John & DJ, always cheerful guys, greeted me at the door when I arrived. Nick grabbed my keys to get the service started and Flo gave me a big hug (shes always glad to see me). Wow! This place seriously enjoys the benefits of being outside of a nice suburban neighborhood. They pull the benefits of OVERCHARGING seniors in comparison to other auto repairs quoted for the same job without expecting them to do their research and just openly hand them their money for whatever problems they come up with. My mother has went here for a long while and I was astonished to find out their pricing differences after I compared them after having suspicions on how high their fixes were. I am upset that they had EVER received any money from her. I wish that money could have went to an animal shelter or something rather than the greedy owner! Be ashamed of yourself! To everyone, please compare quotes before paying to do expensive fixes on your vehicle! They may not turn out to actually be expensive.

I got flyer says Includes new disc, brake pads or shoes for 49.95 per axle. It sounds too good to be true. I called the store. I was told new disc is not included. For 49.95, they will use very bad part and skip a lot of steps. If they use better parts and new disc, it would be 400 per axle. That is exactly 8 times of their advertised price, which is not acceptable.I have never been there. From their flyer and the phone call, I dont believe this company can be trusted.

Regardless of your vehicle type, age or make you will not find a more consistent service facility that you can trust to tell you the truth about your need for repairs or cost to do so. Free coffee and Wi-Fi as you wait or loaner cars are available when you cant. They will treat you like family so be prepared to like it!

What wonderful service and expertise. I have a work van that needed to get back on the road SOON and they worked hard to find the parts (not easy on an old van) and get them installed as soon as possible. The electrical system was a mess, and they got it back in working order. I would highly recommend their service!

I feel totally robbed from this mechanic! I paid over $1,000 for a problem that should have cost less than $100.00 to fix. The markup on parts is ridiculous. Worse, they tell you they have to run tests prior to fixing which costs about $200 before even picking up a tool. If you know nothing about cars, DO NOT go to Sugar Creek Auto, they will certainly take advantage of your ignorance.

Nick and Flo and their team at Sugar Creek Auto Performance are our go to shop for all our vehicle repair and maintenance issues. They are fast, fair and always give a detailed explanation of the whys and wherefores of the suggested repairs. They did an exceptional job refurbishing our first generation 300c last year, rebuilding and upgrading the transmission, replacing the rack and pinion assembly, various sensor systems, a/c, etc. They were even able to replace an exterior door handle and straighten a sprung hood hinge (I never had to go near the dealer!). It drives like new again. I told them once that I was always amazed at what they could and would do to ensure customer satisfaction. If youve been disappointed with your repair shop, you wont be with SCAP. Give them a try!

Last I went there one of the mechanics got offended I called him out on breaking a part, trying to get away with charging an extra hundred dollars for a 20$ fix and then using leverage on some prior troubleshooting to one of our cars when that troubleshooting was completely obvious after I did the fix myself.  So the offended kid decided to literally throw my tire out the front door after being confronted that he was being negligent breaking the valve. Funny how the owner is now claiming that my behavior was vile and I was extremely aggressive when you know very well that your subordinate was out of line when he had his own tantrum throwing my tire out. I believe you are the one with a masked anger problem. Explain how the person covered in tattoos that works for you grabbed my tire and literally threw it out 5 feet outside of door when I disagreed with how they broke a valve. Im sure that is something you are pretending did not happen with your response to this comment. Im appalled and disgusted by how far from the truth the owners response was to me.

Went for an AC diagnostics. They told me 35 dollars for the AC check then later called me to let me know they need another 130 dollars to do an electric check for the AC. Other stores told me 98 dollars for the full AC diagnostics. They just need to be straight on their pricing!

Horrible customer service, was trying to get gas very rude and gas was very expensive, repair quote is outrageous... and they don’t allow you to use restroom, (Because it says NOT for Public ) I would never go to that place ever ..

They advertised alignment for 49$, but when i took my car to get alignment done, very rude guy at the counter will ask you if you wanna make appointment, i said ok, he says tomorrow afternoon, false advertisement, they dont want to do the work where they are not making much, there was no customer waiting when i went in, and its monday 2pm,i would not recommend this place to anyone, and will never go back there again.

Their hours are remarkably inconvenient, but they know their stuff.

I just came to State Inspection, but the boss is very kind and the price is very reasonable. It only took 25 US dollars and took about half an hour to complete. I recommend everyone to refer to it.
