Good selection. Clean store. Mostly friendly people. Except the kid working in custom framing. I asked for a specific item, was given a look that was supposed to tell me I was interrupting his flirting with a coworker and was told I guess I could show you where it might be. After he made eye contact with me and turned away to follow his coworker into another aisle and I had to track him down again.

Prime rib is great. Staff is wonderful too. Nice place to eat.

It has almost everything you might need for crafting. Beads, thread, plants, pots wire, glue and what not. Love it.

I love this Michaels, it always has whatever craft supplies Im looking for. They also have pretty nice discounts when youre a part of their rewards system and the cashiers will often remind you that theres a coupon.

Decently priced canvases. Only store around with a wide variety of sizes and shapes. If you buy smaller starter canvases they cost less at walmart for the same quality. Michaels is the only place with ranges of quality on canvases.They had a 70% off deal on canvases when I went last. I got their biggest canvas (36x48in) for about 12 dollars. Definitely wait for lowest prices of the season for big canvases.This particular store was clean but scarce on workers. Everything was in its place but I only saw one employee. Possibly I caught them on their lunch break.

I was on hold for 30 minutes on the phone when all I asked was a question about prices of a certain product. I went to the store and no one gave me an answer as to why my call was still on hold. Over 40 minutes and at this point I’m in the store and I’m still on hold. Really disappointed with how the staff responded to it. No one could explain or tell me who put me on hold. It was a really simple question and I wasn’t rude on the phone so I just don’t understand this customer service. The only reason this isn’t zero star is because the frame I bought was cheaper than expected. Support a different business

I had not been to Michaels in 4 or 5 years. A friend suggested I go there to get some crocheting yarn I had been looking for. Amazing! The yarn was on sale also. A good buy. I couldnt believe how specialized they had become. Whatever art/craft supplies you may be looking for, Im sure you will find it there at a reasonable price. Valentines Day supplies were already 40 percent off the original price. Some items are a bit pricey. These items I call keepsake items and you probably wont find these items anyplace else. The store was so clean and organized. The staff very helpful and polite. My cashier was Sierra. I could tell she liked her job! I could see an arts and crafts table in the back of the store. Not sure, but; they may offer various classes of sorts. Had a very enjoyable evening, mostly browsing.

Cool little store. They have all kinds of art supplies and things for crafts. A few models and even rockets can be had here but they dont stock the engines for them.

Could easily spend hours in this store getting ideas for winter time crafts. This store has everything imaginable to keep yourself from getting cabin fever this winter. I was easily able to look up the item I wanted using their website and know exactly what isle to find it and if it was in stock or not. Great shopping experience.

Its got a lot of craft supplies in a range of quality levels--including things for kids to do. There are drawing supplies as well, which is my main focus. The prices arent too bad, but its best to find coupons or go when theyre having sales.

Customer service was fantastic

First of all I LOVE Michaels. But I dont love the horrible music they always play loud enough to where I cant even think straight. I wish they would just have some jazz or classical music, its an art store not a club.

I make jewelry. Michaels is good for getting basic supplies and lacking in selection for more advanced work. Joanns is the same as is Hobby Lobby and AC Moore.I get my basics here if run out in the middle of a project. Otherwise its Amazon or Etsy.

I enjoy going to Michaels to get all of my craft needs. I would give this store five star rating however, due to the lack of availability of staff to help you is why Im giving it a four-star. I do find the store at this location a little confusing and hard to navigate.

What I like most about this store is I can pick up my order placed online, though I was not sure where the pickup location was when I first went there. Obviously, it is located towards the back of the store where wooden frames are displayed.

Picked up online orders that were ready when I arrived. I had to to the back of the store to the frame desk. It was not clear at first where to go, and it was a little difficult for the worker to find the orders - no scannable bar code or finding by order number - but it was still quick and convenient. And I would do again.

The store is a bit pricey on some aspects, however I love to stop here for my latch hooking kits as theyve got a pretty decent selection; therefore when I’m done with a project I can start a new one. They have tons of artsy supplies and I can usually spark craft ideas just by walking through the store. The clerk at the register I dealt with twice didn’t seem very happy the one time I was there but the next she was pleasant.

I ran into micheals really quick to find some lip balm containers, and couldnt find them. The only workers there were were the ones running the cashier, so there was no one to ask. Eventually, I was forced to leave without finding what I came for.

I give Michaels a solid 3 because I am constantly disappointed in the corporate policies and the convenience of this particular store compared to other local shops where I can get better deals. I craft a lot and buy many materials from all over and the prices are too high to conveniently purchase anything without a coupon but even when I have coupons, it is rare that I can use them on the items Id like to because of terms and conditions listed in fine print. Im much further ahead to go to Jo-ann where I can use coupons or Walmart where prices are half as much originally.I will say though that they often have unique or trendy items if you are looking for something special or a gift.

They definitely have the best selection of Cricut supplies. I will say that if I check on the website if the Altoona store has something in stock, its not always accurate. There has been 3 separate occasions where I checked the stock online and then got to the store only to find out it was out of stock. I ended up driving to the State College Michaels to get what I needed.

The store is clean, the staff are helpful. It didn’t have what I needed but it’s surprising with such a large selection of craft items. I always try to utilize an online coupon when I’m there.

There is a lot of selection in this store. Pretty much every time I come in looking for some thing insanely specific I am able to find it.They have some pretty great sales too. I happened to stop in for something random and they had several great coinciding sales, so I got nearly everything I bought more than sixty (sometimes seventy!) percent off retail price. I dont know that the prices work for me when things are not on sale, but Im pretty happy with my last haul.I would say the store is generally clean and orderly and the staff are always very helpful and friendly.The only big downside is I detest the parking lot. It is really weird.

When you know what you need, and the fact this is the only craft store besides walmart... its ok. But if youre looking for wide variety friendly staff or a new hobby... go to walmart.

Store #2710First of all I love writing about good experiences with establishments since it’s so hard to find these days. I have been looking forward to framing some recent movie posters and rare news papers. There was a young lady working in the framing department that was so helpful. She had no problem stopping what she was working on to put me first above her task. That’s what it takes to keep people coming back to a store these days. I am huge on customer service and so should every single business I write about since this market is heading to the internet so much these days.So, 5 stars for outstanding customer service from the framing department at the State College Michaels store today.Hope your experience is as good as mine!

Great place for craft supplies, art supplies, projects for kids and adults and many gifts ideas. They also carry seasonal decorations, and has a framing department. You can also take classes here for different crafts and hobbies.

Sales are great, especially when using the app. Staff is friendly and helpful. I can never leave empty handed!

This Michaels is typically clean, neat, and well-stocked. I like that Michaels always has coupons online and can scan them from my phone.

Good place to get painting and hobby supplies if you have a reward card and use the coupons that print with receipts (good next day, not for that visit). The Tandy leather section keeps getting smaller but they still have a ~8 section.

Great store for crafts, scrap booking & holiday decorations.

My mom and I went into the State College location looking for the finishing touches on my wedding decorations. We have gotten quite a few other items from Michaels, but this evening when we were shopping we had our eyes set on their ribbon (being pulled in by a 10 for $10 on 360 brand ribbon). The ribbon we found was 360 and would work perfectly for the wedding decor. We loaded up our arms with 12 roll and proceeded to the checkout counter. Once we were checking out we were very surprised when the sales girl said our total would be $79. My mom mentioned the sale to the sales girl who proceeded to speak with her manager over the store walkie talkie. The manager, as we were told by the cashier, went to check on the price for us. She then spoke with our cashier over the walkie talkie again stating that only the 360 ribbon with the yellow label is 10/$10 and it is the one that is regularly $2.99. As my mom pointed out to the cashier there is no price tag on the individual roll nor did the sign state that this sale only pertained to the yellow label. When my mom was looking at this sale there was a sales sign right over the ribbon we were going to buy. This leaves a very poor taste in our mouths as customers with Michaels. Not once during this entire exchange did the manager come to the front of the store to speak with us nor did she offer a solution to what was misleading advertising on the stores part. Needless to say we are very unsatisfied with our experience with Michaels and we did not make a purchase today and do not plan to in the near future.

Good staff and selection, but the prices are just rough

Had just what I needed and were nice as well.

To be honest I really dont care much for this place. They sell a range of craft items but in the times Ive shopped there Ive found the quality of the picture frames to be somewhat disappointing (in the sense that they are acceptable at the 50% off level, which happens rather often, but Id be unhappy if Id paid full price for them). I wanted to get some matte board to frame a picture but every single piece in store looked bedraggled and crumpled around the edges. I wanted to get something to cut foam boards and matte boards only to find they had a very limited range of products with little to indicate whether the $50 product was going to offer me anything useful over and above the $5 product, and a display that left me thinking the best course of action was to go home and research it on Amazon. And if Im researching on Amazon I might as well buy from Amazon. It took a surprising amount of time to find an assistant (I use the word loosely) and when I asked about the cutting products the assistant wasnt able to actually offer any assistance.
