I rarely write negative reviews but felt that our dissatisfaction with P2P had grown to the level that it warranted one. After approving my computer repair estimate online, I heard nothing for almost a month so I called in for a status update where I was told that due to a glitch in their system, the invoice that should have been emailed to me upon approving the estimate had not been sent and thus the parts had not been ordered. No one reached out to me to ask why the invoice had never been paid or checked into the issue until I called. Our interactions with the managing staff and front desk staff at the State College P2P specifically were less than pleasant with both employees demonstrating a lack of professionalism. We regret enlisting their services and will go elsewhere in the future.

I ended up fixing my laptop myself. I went in there, told them the battery was dead, and they charged me 80 dollars for a diagnosis to see what was wrong with it. After I already told them. Then they said they would email me and charge me more money to fix it if I wanted to. It was way cheaper just to buy a new battery and replace it myself.Also, 3 days passed and they still hadnt even looked at my computer at all after I left it there. As a college student, I needed it back ASAP so I went and got it back after it had been too long. I dont even want to know how long it would take for them to fix it if they hadnt even taken a look after 3 days. An extra star for not making a fuss about giving me a refund for the diagnosis though.

I took in my 2020 MacBook pro because it would not turn on after it was on a plane. They told me it looked like the entire inside was corroded due to water damage and it would be $1400 to fix it. When I called and asked for a breakdown of what we would be paying for, they told me that I would be getting a refurbished laptop. That is all they would say! Because they would only tell me it was water damage and not what on it was broken or why we would have to pay so much I took it to an apple store. Not only was there NO WATER DAMAGE, it was covered under my limited warranty, unlike what p2p had said. Apple said if it was not covered it would only be $500. $900 less than what p2p had said!!!! This place is a joke of a business. Not only that, but when they opened up my laptop they broke the hinges on it! What was I paying for? The parts that they broke? I would give them negative stars if I could.

Went here about a year ago and received excellent service. Was told it was possible the same issue I had that time could come up again, which it did recently. Upon taking it to them and telling them I thought it was the same issue, they were able to fix it in 5 minutes at no charge. I will return with any future issues with my Apple products.

I’ve been to P2P twice now - once for a computer repair and once for a battery replacement on my iPhone. Great service both times - they are super nice people and the repairs were done quickly and without issue. The computer repair required waiting on a part, but they were super communicative about it and once it came in, it was done in no time. Prices are reasonable IMO. Happy to support this local biz!

Consumer Beware! P2P has a policy in which they throw away your computer if not picked up within 3 months. My husband was waiting for P2P to get in touch with him. They emailed but he didnt see the emails. They never called. They never texted. He finally called to see what was up and was told his Mac was recycled. Gone for good. No apologies, no compensation. He was not informed of this policy beforehand. It was $1000+ computer, still under warranty. Apple wouldnt replace it because P2P is 3rd party, eventhough theyre Apple certified. Apple certified means nothing. Stay away from P2P.

Brought my desktop in to get it diagnosed and they got back to me within the 3-5 day waiting period. They were thorough in checking my desktop and didnt give me any problems when I came to pick it up. Word to the wise if you plan on having them upgrade your pc, they will pick sub par parts and overcharge you. One worker offered to help me pick out parts and sent me an invoice, I looked on my own and found the same parts on amazon and other retailers (newegg and bestbuy) for more than $200 less than what P2P would charge me for the parts alone. I was even able to find better parts for my computer while still being over $200 under what P2P would charge me.In summary, they are great at diagnosing problems, but dont trust them for anything further.

When I was still teaching (SCASD) and my MacBook Pro decided to pitch an occasional fit, it was easy enough to call the IT specialist or Computer Services to get it up and running again. Retirement closed that avenue for me, and I am very glad that I found P2P Computer Solutions to provide analysis and repair when things go amiss. Ive taken my computer to P2P twice in the last two years - the first time when it shut down completely without warning, the second when the touchpad became unresponsive in one corner. Both times the machine came back to me in perfect working order, and the staff was so great at listening to my descriptions of the issues that brought me to their office, and explaining what they did to make things right again. In this day and age when our myriad devices are so crucial to our everyday lives, its great to know P2P is there to make things just a little easier for us when trouble calls... Thanks to all.

They had my phone for 6 hours to fix the screen. Takes 15 mins at other places. fair enough. I call throughout the day to check on it’s status, they said both times- no eta, it’s not done yet. at 4 I stop by to check on it and they say they were unable to start working on it because there were additional issues that would cost several hundred dollars more. what were they doing all day? They held my phone for 6 hours, telling me it was being worked on, then they gave it back to me still broken, and without my screen protector.

Took computer in for repairs and SSD installation. Took a couple weeks, and they ultimately accidentally deleted all of the files off the computer, including our engagement photos. They then took a month to try to rescue those files.Our mistake was not backing up our data.But if thats indicative of what you can expect here, then...well, you draw your own conclusions.

I needed a battery replacement in my macbook air, and they said they would have to hold my computer for over a week to do it. I was told it would take at least 2 business days just to run diagnostics to make sure it was a battery replacement, and then 3-5 more days to replace the battery, and this time does not include weekends.

I bought a prebuilt that wasn’t working properly. Brought it into them and in 3 days they had it working. Had another problem pop up and brought it back into them. They have a 30 day guarantee so they took it back in no extra charge. Waiting to hear back I turned it in today but have full faith they will find the problem. Definitely recommend.

My iMac had failed to boot and Apple support recommended P2P for evaluation and repair. (I am 2 hours away from the nearest Apple Store.) What I expected to be a hardware problem turned out to be a software/malware problem. Matt Hill was very knowledgeable and professional and took the time to listen to me and answer my at times naïve questions. Though they kept my computer for over a week, I realize that was a result of their thoroughness of both evaluation and after-repair testing to be sure it was done correctly. I highly recommend their service.

DONT GO HEREI wish I could rate lower on this company. Ive never actually taken the time to write a review before, but people need to know how terribly they handle customers here.There is NO communication between the workers and between the workers and the customer.I dropped off my broken phone almost 3 weeks ago thinking it would be $80 to do a data recovery (according to someone on their phone line) if it worked, turns out it is $200.It should have taken 2 days to get the data off and 2 days to download the data max (according to them), but it has now been about 3 weeks.They forgot to tell me to turn off find my iphone so it got delayed because they never sent me an email (even though they consistently insist that they did). I was the one that had to call and find out why my phone was not ready 2 days after I dropped it off. On that call, I determined with the person on call that I had turned it off successfully.... Well, 2 more days go by and no email and I call again.... Apparently find my iphone was not turned off and they did not bother to inform me. I was definitely upset at this point on the phone with the person and he threatened to not do the data recovery. Thats not how you work with customers. Instead, you should represent the company that did a poor job and offer to knock off the already outrageous price.I just want my phone back, it is not that hard. Communication is key and they should have informed me that I needed to come into the store to turn it off. Now, I have to wait until Monday at the very least to pick it up.

Great place for Mac and i-device repair although they offer other computer services as well. One of the very few Apple certified shops in the area doing warranty work as well as regular repairs. Great and knowledgeable staff and competitive prices should you not be covered.The biggest advantage is the location, so close to Campus which makes it extremely convenient for students and locals alike.

P2P staff did excellent job diagnosing and removing viruses, malware from my laptop. They answered my initial questions by phone, described services and rates, and serviced my 2015 laptop well. I was really hoping not to have to write a typical this place is shady and deceptive review of a tech place but after multiple difference services provided by P2P, they absolutely fit this description. They constantly provide false information about whether your device is being worked on and they do not even begin repairs or data transfers until days after they claim you will have your device back. This company is definitely shady and I would recommend that you find another service provider in the area if at all possible.

If at all possible, I would try to avoid going to them for computer repairs. If you must use them, just expect the time window that they give you to be tripled. I have gone to them for computer repairs twice and once time a one day time estimate turned into a week. Do not feel forced to you use them because they are the only apple recognized provider. Many better places I would recommend downtown.

Great service! My track pad was acting up so I went to P2P to get it checked out. I dropped it off on a Tuesday, Thursday I received an email with results from the diagnostics, and by Friday my computer was ready to be picked up. I had a battery replaced in a 5 year old Mac Air and also had a computer glitch addressed after a software upgrade. While the repair was definitely expensive, I was carefully explained options I could do on my own to make the servicing significantly less expensive. I opted to let P2P computers do everything instead. I have only had the computer back for several hours and was pleased to find none of my data or information was lost. That meant everything to me. Expensive? Yes. But the cost was worth it to me.

P2P upgraded my iMac by installing a SSD drive. They provided a quick turnaround (they had it in the shop around 5 hours) and quality work. With the SSD drive installed I am now seeing around a 5-10x improvement in system and app start-up speed.It was well worth the cost; my only regret is not doing it sooner.I will be sure to contact P2P for any Mac work in the future.

I took my iMac in to have it checked out for water damage, I explained what happened and the technician zerod in on the problem immediately, a damaged power cord he offered me a replacement and gave me some valuable advice on setting up some additional equipment. I was in and out in under 10 minutes with a working computer. Service was professional diagnosis spot on and customer service was super. If you have any computer problems in State College head right to these guys they were great!

Apple recommends P2P to replace my failing iphone7 battery. I call last Tuesday and get the first available appt this Tuesday. I explain I am driving over an hour and will be waiting for it to be replaced. So, I get there today at 9:45. Wait in line until 10:15. They check me in and tell me it will be approx 3 hours. I again state I will be waiting for it. At 1:00 I go on to check on progress. Front desk clerk checks with technician and says it will be done by 2:00. I tell him I will be waiting out front in my car to please call if it gets done early. 15 minutes later technician calls me and tells me that they have no iphone7 battery in stock and I can leave it there for a couple days and then come back and pick it up. What??? You give me an appt. Have me drive 1 hour 20 minutes. Wait 3.5 hours. Then tell me you have no battery? Worst business model and customer service experience ever. Would never recommend this business

Good location with timely repairs unlike other places. I got my computer back with a new screen in a week and a half. The diagnostic fee is kinda hefty but worth the speed of the repair. Payment though their online system is fast and convenient especially when/if you need to consult other people. They dont always hear the door chime, so you might have to knock on the employee door.

The place is alright. Only certified repair store downtown.They took 7 days for diagnosis but I ran the diagnosis myself and it took 5mins30secs. I mean its alienware - it has one of the best self diagnosis system. It literally tells you where the problem is. Staff can be friendly or rude depends on if you ask them to speed up. I guess its the culture there.

Claim to be Apple certified. But they’re not. Unfriendly and unprofessional people! Got back my computer with extra damage and they dont take responsibility for that!I took my laptop there; after paying 52$ for diagnosis later, they asked for 180$ to change a cable worth 10$! I got back my computer to do it myself because it was a very easy task. However, after opened it, I find out they caused damage in battery! I went back to this store and explained the issue, but a super annoying manager didnt want to take responsibility for what they did!I called Apple, and they are going to fix all issues with my laptop, including the battery damage!If you have any problem with your Apple products, instead of going to this self-declared apple authorized place!!, I recommended contact Apple; they will send you a box that you can mail your phone or computers to Apple service center!

I brought my iPhone to P2P for a repair about one month ago. They told me that my phone would be replaced in up to 2 days, and I paid the money for the replacement process. However, they couldn’t do it in 2 days, and I canceled the repair and took my phone. It is one month, and I still haven’t get my money back. I put comments and also emailed them, but they didn’t respond to me. Besides, when I called them, the person that I spoke to told me he would send the request to the accounting section, but he cannot do anything about it. This is, by far, one of the worst experiences that I have with apple-related service centers. They are not professional, and they are not responsive at all.

Do not use their services !!!!!!They took my laptop for a simple fan replacement and were unable to do so. They also charged me $120 and my computer was never fixed. I am still trying to get a refund for about 2 weeks. I can assure you that you will regret giving your computer to them. Try another store.

Matt reached out to me when he heard of a program Apple extended to fix a keyboard problem that my computer was having. Excellent repair service on my MacBook Pro. P2P is fully certified as an Apple Authorized Service Provider, meaning they know what theyre doing, they will use genuine new Apple parts, and they can save you a trip to an Apple Store (over 2 hours away for me). If they have questions about whether your device qualifies for a warranty or other free repair service covered by Apple, they will clear it with Apple. Very happy, I will use them again.

I took my 12 year old son’s computer in with a broken hinge. He was charged $50 to diagnose it and tell us after a day they couldn’t find the part. A valuable lesson for my son to choose your service providers more carefully. He’s also warned all his friends.

The keyboard & touchpad are unresponsive, which I can see from Mac forums is a common failure mode for 2015 and 2016 models. I called for a best-case-scenario ballpark estimate so I can weigh the cost/benefit of repairing the computer vs replacing it. The person on the phone was unwilling to provide any information at all, because only repair technicians can give estimates. I asked if there was speak a technician in the shop, and she said yes but refused to let me speak with one because they are busy. I called on Monday morning 20 minutes after the shop opened, I have to think a technician could spare (literally) 1 minute to speak with a customer. Instead, she insisted that I need to leave my computer with them for 2-3 business days before anyone could provide an estimate.I can see that P2P has great ratings and I have no reason to doubt they probably do good work. However, if you had the same interaction with an auto mechanic (they wont talk for 1 min, just leave your car for 2-3 days), you would go somewhere else. Im going somewhere else.

I was totally pleased with my experience with P2P. I took them what seemed to be a difficult problem (intermittent shut-downs of my computer), they ran it through extensive testing, diagnosed the problem, and had it fixed quickly. I dealt with Matt, who was a nice person, very professional and knowledgeable. He called and texted at each step of the way. Im the sort of person that tends to fix things myself but in this case I needed to go to someone, and I couldnt have been more pleased with P2P.

My computer display was super messed up so i brought it in to p2p and they had it back to me by Friday! The lady who helped me was super nice and they also emailed me with updates throughout the week. 10/10 would recommend!
