Just moved to Statesboro 4 months ago. Finally got to go to Ellis. They have every kind of meat you want . Homemade cakes and seafood. Beef is cut on premise. Couldnt ask for a better small town butcher. Love this place.

I dont think enough people know about this place because its just easier to go to Wal Mart..... Its solid though. Only downside is that its way too small and doesnt carry bison/buffalo anymore.

I got a lot of Meat & it filled up My freezer under My fridge and My deep freezer. Wasnt expensive at all, paid a Good price for all the Meat I got!

I went to the store and brought some Buffalo wings and when I got them home they looked like they are freezer burnt. The bag of wings have ice all over them, like food look when freezer burnt. So I called and spoke with someone and they stated they don’t know why they would look like that because all the cases came in at the same time. So he then proceed to ask me what you want me to do for you, now all I wanted was to exchange them. He then states he’s not able to do anything for me. I guess that will be my last time shopping there.

The folks provide the best service. Ive never gotten a bad piece of meat from them and they are happy to share recipes! Try everything!

I love this place because of the quality of the food they also have everything to go along with the meat that you could possibly think of you can create a whole meal in one store healthy as well as delicious if theres anything you dont see you can ask the staff and the butcher staff will cut it for you they also offer freezer wrap they have seafood as well if youre wanting to cook dinner like a romantic dinner I would suggest going there to find everything you need staff is excellent friendly courteous and extremely respectful

This is the only store in the area that sells/stays stocked with dry ice. The people that work in that area arent the nicest. They barely acknowledge you when you come through the door. I used to go regularly but enough is enough. I will not return.

They dont have the best customer service. The lady barely makes eye contact with you when you walk in or greet you. Also, the area where I go the man and woman never wears amask or a face covering. The only reason Im leaving there stars is because they already know what I want when I arrive.

Staff in INCREDIBLE! So friendly and helpful. There selection is really nice. Ive been looking for cubed, bone-in leg pieces to make Jamaican curried goat, AND THEY HAD IT! It was even labeled as such. I was also looking for andoulli sausage and they had that as well. They have SO much more than meat. Had a great selection of fresh hulled beans and lots other frozen vegetables and pastry breads like dumplings for cooking. SO glad I found this place. Will definitely be back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Weve been buying meat and veggies at Ellis meat market for a long time now. Their meats have always been great and the veggies are too. You have the choice of buying what theyve already packaged or have them freshly prepare something for you. Their prices are very competitive with the supermarkets and you always know what youre getting is good. We buy all of our meats there .

Not a reliable source for the little guy! Companies like this start off with small time customers like me and grow. But I feel, upon first impression, they’ve forgotten the importance of that. I moved to Statesboro about six months ago. As a culinary/pastry student I got very excited about the possibilities of ordering different kinds of things and trying out different projects since we had skilled butchers in town. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to find that a small customer like me doesn’t seem to really matter. I have found that when I placed orders I really could not get a straight answer about quotes or even estimates on prices. Anybody who has ordered food or services for parties knows that an estimate is a suggestion and that you can’t get a final price until you’re close to the event; but you still want to have an idea of what somethings going to cost to make reasonable decisions about budget. I also found that orders weren’t done in a timely fashion. I understand things happen but for a big business like that I can’t imagine not taking care of things. I placed an order two weeks ahead for a small amount of hamburgers and found that I had to still wait 20 to 30 minutes more after arriving 2 hours passed the set pick up time. I felt that the staff wasn’t very concerned about my inconvenience. Further, they seem to get irritated by the fact that I was upset. If I’d been a major restaurant or hotel this would’ve been unacceptable and they wouldn’t of allowed this to happen I’m sure. On top of that they actually struggle to decide whether or not to discount my order nor tried to make things right somehow. Most businesses would’ve done so since it was there their mishap. I had placed other meat orders and found that they were pretty unresponsive as well. So if you want something quick to pick up out of one of their cases they’re great but I don’t see them being somebody that I can really rely on anymore for my events.

Ellis has that hometown feel the butchers are helpful and fast. The prices are fair and the meat is good quality. If you frequent enough they will know what you want before you can ask.

What a find. Ellis Market is the best place for fresh, regular-sized chicken breasts that are full of flavor, not hormones! Their pork sausage is flavorful and not full of additives... and I love the chicken/pork dry marinade and use it on everything grilled. And if that isnt enough, the employees couldnt be nicer or more friendly folks - I will be back!

Best cuts of meat! Really great quality!

I liked the quality meats they offer and how you can walk up to the meat counter and be able to tell them what kind of meat and how you want it cut. The fresh ground chuck hamburger meat. And all the employees there are so nice and courteous. When you check out they have guys to help you take your groceries to the car which is awesome. And the prices they have. You can buy a meat package for a week month. They have whole hogs to cows. The pig we got for a family members family was awesome. I would tell you if you live in statesboro or surrounding counties its worth the drive to get fresh quality meats at a great price. I been shopping there since 2011 and thats where I get all my meats and vegetables from.
