This is a great bookstore! There’s something for everyone. We enjoyed looking at the new and used books, the games, cards, and lots of extras. They had jewelry and fun novelty items. We each had something from the cafe too. The drinks were yummy and a local customer convinced me to get a chunky monkey muffin and it was delicious and big enough to share. We enjoyed the decor so much—even the bathroom! 📚 The customer service was phenomenal and we really enjoyed our visit. Thanks!

This is the kind of bookstore I wish every town had. Friendly and very helpful staff, great selection of books and of the course the requisite wonderful in house coffee shop. This place could not be more cozy, comfortable or welcoming. Thank you to the owners and staff! Also, I found the perfect Christmas ornament by happenstace to remind us of our special time in Steamboat.

I just stopped in and got the Earl Grey Latte, and ohhh my gosh, it was the most delicious beverage Ive ever had!! I was shocked! Thank you to the gal who helped me for suggesting that I add Lavender to it.All the staff were super nice, the bakery goods looked insanely delicious, and the store was so cute.

Cute little bookstore but came here specifically for a pick me up. Got the Great Expectations and couldn’t have been more disappointed. I felt like Pip when he was jilted by Estella and Miss Havisham. It tasted like frothed milk with a slight hint of Earl Grey tea. I let it steep for some time hoping that it would improve but it did not. My girlfriend got a Mr. Darcy and it was rather underwhelming as well. I wanted to like this place but their drinks were a let down.

The only reason I did not give this place a 5 star rating is its just not very big.It is a very quaint store that has a lot of charm.

Love independent book sellers.The extra cost and sometimes delays to receive special orders are worth having solid merchants keep up our towns economic vitality.And grab a specialty drink and home made bakery item while perusing!Amazon cant do that or create the ambiance of an intimate, homegrown bookstore.

We come here at least once per year when we visit. I have always loved everything about this store and this week they just exceeded every possible expectation. On a whim they made a beautiful cake and it is delicious. So grateful for their kindness and fun spirit.

A very nice bookstore. Not the biggest selection, but they have many new books. They have an excellent puzzle section and the coffee bar is very good. Would highly recommend the East of Eden coffee or anything with violet in it.

This is a really cute book and coffee shop, located right downtown. They have specialty coffees that include lavender and dark chocolate, as well as spiked coffee. You can also pick up postcards or sit upstairs and read as you enjoy your coffee.

Really cute store, had a short line to get in because of covid but worth it. The way they organize the books is great and I love the recommended section. So many great options. The cafe has a great selection of yummy drinks and snacks too!

Great coffee and cool atmosphere. Lots of fun stuff to look at and buy, like puzzles and trinkets. Just dont know why I have to use the hand sanitizer to go in. That seems a little pushy. Im all for masks, but Im not a big fan of the sanitizer when I can use soap.

Independent book stores, hard to go wrong. If you like to read, or like someone who likes to read, or just like to look at the pictures, this is a great spot. I bought a book on the mammals of CO, and all of them (puma, bear, elk, moose, mt goat) agree, Books are good, and Off the Beaten Path is a good place for books.Word!

What a gem of a bookstore we found on our travels to Steamboat Springs! If I owned a bookstore it would be just like this enchanting and magical book lair! Quaint, cozy, and such a wonderful atmosphere! The coffee ☕️ was amazing and the book selection was unique and carefully selected. The locals are definitely a fan of this charming store and if I lived in Steamboat it would be my Sunday Funday! Thank you for the lovely experience and fun books and trinkets, I’ll be back to savor a delicious cup of coffee on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The food is delicious and the customer service is excellent. They have warm baked goods and great beverages. This is located inside a bookstore. There is no inside seating and items cannot be eaten inside the bookstore.

I cant recommend this place highly enough. I grew up in Steamboat, and I have so many memories of going here to look at the new books. Ive since moved away, but whenever I come back, I make sure to stop by and crab a pastry and a new book. I think it and the library really make up the heart of Steamboat Springs

Excellent bookstore with an adorable cafe that serves adult beverage coffees and INCREDIBLE gluten free baked goods. They are willing to order books they dont carry and its so nice supporting a local company rather than giving more money to Amazon and the ilk.

Great little book store! Loved getting a coffee and walking around. They have a nice nature section that I enjoyed catching up on the latest releases in. Also, make sure you check out the used section up top. While there are some serious duds, you never know what you might find in a place like that 😉

What a pleasant surprise this fantastic bookshop was in downtown Steamboat Springs! I love good bookshops and this place is amongst the very best Ive encountered on my travels around the world. The range of books was astonishing and all high quality. The extensive range of books specific to the Steamboat Springs area and Colorado more generally was an absolute joy to see. The staff are very knowledgeable and just lovely people to meet. The cafe is brilliant too. These guys operate a cafe that is probably the best for many miles around. I was blessed when I decided to head into town from the ski area and my bus had an advertisement for this bookshop. Tucked away from the main street, I may not have found this place without seeing the ad. My only criticism is that this bookshop stocked books containing ridiculous conspiracy theories regarding alleged Trump collusion with Russia. A bookshop of this calibre should be a bit more discerning in its choice of books.

This is a fantastic independent bookstore and cafe in downtown Steamboat. They have a wonderfully curated selection of books, friendly employees, and a great selection of beverages and pastries. They even had a few gluten-free or vegan selections to choose from (the orange cranberry vegan scone was delicious!). Ill definitely stop by next time Im in town.

Quaint little book store that offers a wide range of book genres and both used and new copies. They have a tasty little coffee stand that sells drinks and snacks in the center of the store. The main downside of this establishment is that they do not allow dogs since they sell food at the coffee stand, unfortunately. If they were to allow dogs I would have stayed longer and purchased a coffee, piece of banana bread and a couple books but any establishment that asks you to leave because you have a pet companion does not deserve to earn my business.

This is a cool bookstore, they have a bit of everything so it looks like they serve locals and tourists. The used / discount section is, shall we say, the high side of retail. Probably better choices out there for that.

My wife and I are avid readers so we like to look at book stores when we are on vacation in other areas. This bookstore is one of the best ones I have ever been to in my life. The selection was good (not the best but that is to be expected for a smaller bookstore), the people were friendly and they even had recommendations bookmarked inside their favorite books with synopses or information. In addition, the coffee shop inside the book store serves a pretty good cup of coffee as well. I would highly recommend this bookstore to anyone who likes to read or enjoys visiting local stores when traveling.

A must visit while in town kind of place! The abundant selection of books will keep you occupied for hours. Great reading area, super friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as reasonable rates when taking into consideration your location. The cafe offers so many great drink options. The hot chocolate was bomb, so was my barista! MUST HAVE COWBOY COOKIE

Lady told guy in front of me that he was the last customer while I was already in line for a while. It was 5:26. When I looked at the hours on the way out it said closes at 6. I guess they dont need money thru these crazy times!

This is a really nice and quaint little book store. They have a lot of variety, and its well organized. The employees are nice, and the little coffee shop inside is nice. They have a kids section, and puzzles and toys and what not, as many do. It is not nearly as big and doesnt have at many books as a store like Barnes & Noble, but for all other things, I prefer it.

Super cute bookstore and coffee shop in downtown Steamboat.They have lots of themed drinks with fun names and all sorts of flavor mixes. Both coffee and tea drinks are served. They have soy, almond, and coconut milk as plant-based options for all drinks (50 cents add on).Walls of books, cards, and puzzles are everywhere in this small place. There is nice seating downstairs by the coffee counter and upstairs in smaller reading nooks.The staff was very friendly when we ordered drinks and seemed happy to talk to us about drink options as well as books.They offer free WiFi with no code needed and the speed was pretty decent, although it was fairly quiet when we were using it.Make sure to tell them a tip amount to add before you swipe your card as it wont ask you to add later and they deserve some nice tips!

This store is lovingly run by book lovers. There are two shelves of staff-picks, but I get the feeling that all the other books are just as carefully selected. Like most book stores, it carries a decent amount of non-book merchandise, which is a unfortunate reflection of the book-buying habits of the public. But the selection of books for the upcoming Literary Sojourn festival, the attic filled with used books, and the enthusiasm of the book sellers make this a true haven for the book lover.

We go to steamboat every year and I make sure to go here. They are so so nice. I love the book selection, they seem to had pick their books. I havent had their coffee here in years but I remember it being pretty amazing.

Off the Beaten Path is such an awesome coffee shop! Good Books, Good Coffee, Good Friends is a great way to describe this cute hideaway. The bookstore inside surrounds you while your sitting at a table enjoying your drink. The selection of drinks on the menu is quite large and prices are good too! Theres even a boozey drinks section!The staff is friendly and helpful as well!With just a short walk around the corner from downtown, OFBP is a must stop coffee shop!
