We had a VERY good experience purchasing a car from Cook Chevrolet. We worked with David who was attentive and helpful every step of the way for multiple weeks until we made a final decision.We had one minor issue and the only reason I mention that is because they were on top of it right away. I was impressed with their customer service, to say the least.No pressure, nice staff and our used vehicle is exactly what we were searching for. After purchasing a car from Cook, it would be the first place I would check next time I am in the market.

I recently moved to Steamboat Springs and needed a car to safely and reliably travel long distances across the Western Slope. I called up Cook Subaru and was assigned to Ian Wolf Woelful. I found Wolf to be patient, knowledgeable, and, above all else, helpful as I figured out what car worked best for me in terms of my budget and needs.I moved from a place where I didnt need a car. As such, having someone who could clearly explain the pluses and trade-offs of different vehicles was extremely useful. I ultimately ended up in a 2017 Subaru Outback Premium that Im quite happy with. I would strongly recommend Cook Subaru and, in particular, Wolf for those looking to purchase a vehicle in the area. 5 stars.

I was approved for a loan on a vehicle and the vehicle fell through so I had 10 days to find something else. Put a call into Cook Subaru and simply just told them what I was looking for. Buy your used vehicle from Cook in Steamboat! Be sure to ask for Wolf, their best Salesman. Heres why:I am a FT Steamboat resident and purchased a used Chevy Silverado High Country which ended up having some issues. Wolf was our sales rep and he was wonderful in every way - expert on all the features in the marketplace - and his guidance was spot on because we LOVE the vehicle. Wolf even arranged to have the vehicle stored the vehicle for a few days because it was a gift! He also came in on his day off to execute the deal so I could give the gift on time.The most notable part is that we discovered a couple of issues immediately (not 1,000 miles or several months later, but immediately). Wolf was on it - attentive, responded to text messages right away - he wanted to make sure we were taken care of since we had just spent money with him. The owner of Cook got involved and provided immediate approval for his people to do a full, costly repair. I did not have to plead my case. They did the right thing, even though they legally didnt have to. Also, Wolf got us a loaner vehicle, which I did not expect them to do since we were not paying for a service call.A side note - we have always had our Suburban serviced by their Craig Cook location - they are excellent - they fix it right, and they dont overcharge. Buying a used vehicle, we experienced the same integrity/professionalism.

My car had its rear bumper literally smashed in when I took it home. It appeared somebody had backed into it while I was doing the paperwork on the inside. They were very courteous I believe they probably had cameras. They offered to have it fixed for free because I was coming in for paint touch up with their paint and body specialist. eventually when I finally dealt with the paint and body specialist he had ordered a wrong bumper and painted it and then said I had to wait for him to get another one. He never fixed my bumper. He never fixed another area he was going to fix as compensation to me and my inconvenience. And he did not touch up all the paint marks to my satisfaction. The dealership will not deal with me on it. Apparently they probably compensated him already and now it is up to me to get this done. Its never going to get done and my beautiful Volvo XC60 has a dented in rear bumper that is extremely bad! I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. And of course my salesperson Liana could only recommend me to the parts department or a service manager and so on and so on....

Darrel and the service team did an excellent job! My 60,000 mile service was nothing other than smooth. Because it was convenient to get a ride 24h before my appointment (I later learned they do offer a shuttle) I dropped my vehicle off a day early. My car was done 5 hours later and I picked it up the day before my appointment. Great work!

Just like making sure you have a wonderful hairdresser, one must always have a wonderful car dealership and mechanic. Cook Subaru is both (dealership and mechanic, not so much hairdresser). I have received the absolute best service, both when trading in Outbacks past their prime and my routine maintenance. The staff are courteous, kind, competent, perfunctory, thorough, knowledgeable...everything needed to ensure that I drive away secure in knowing my trusty Subaru Outback will keep me safe for the many miles that I drive. I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else for either a purchase or my car maintenance!

I bought a used car from Cook. Not even two weeks later the car kept over heating. Turns out there was a crack in the radiator. That was only the beginning of my problems. The car was in the shop at least 6 times within a year. I finally had enough when my car stopped in the middle of an intersection. I went to Cook to see if they could me into a better car within my budget. I was told that a 2015 Subaru Outback was out of my price range. I eventually ended up going to Steamboat motors. They got me in a brand new 2018 Jeep Renegade within my budget.I don’t know who is inspecting the used cars Cook is selling, but all I know is that I was sold a death trap.On a positive note, thank you to David at Cook for always getting me in a rental when my car broke down and for being so very helpful this past year. I just couldn’t bring myself to buy another used car from this place.

Im no mechanic and dont desire to be one. I take my vehicles to the shop to people who are supposed to know how to fix stuff. These mechanics are not those people apparently. They missed a hole in my radiator. They missed spark plugs. They missed brakes. I only found this out after a mechanically sound friend of mine took a look at it for a few minutes. These guys had my car twice and once for over a month and never repaired the actual problems. My friend found the problems, fixed them, and I havent had an issue since. Unreal.

This was probably the easiest car purchase ever. I had investigated prices. I had spent the weekend looking for cars in Denver and not finding anything. Was just passing by and I stopped on a whim. My car to be was just being pulled out of the service area to the sales area. (The previous owner knew it needed a new clutch but decided to trade it in rather than fixing it. The service guys put in a brand new clutch.) Stacey met me, and he was fun and funny. I cant say that all the sales there go as great as mine. I can say that I got a very fair deal and was treated well.

I just took delivery of a 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6R Touring and found the service at Cook to be outstanding. I was after a specific model in a hard to find color and they located the EXACT vehicle I wanted and had it on the lot in a little more than a week. The team at Cook went above and beyond in locating the vehicle, during the sales process, and, have checked in with me on two separate occasions since I have taken delivery to make sure the myriad of technology on the car and I are interfacing as we should be. Bought my first Subaru in July and at 6500 miles, the eyesight camera malfunction and electronics began to have a mind of its own; this required me to take the car to a dealer. I called Cook Subaru because they were the closest, about 2.5 hours. I spoke to Barbara; she was not helpful at all in addition to being rude. Being 2.5 hours away, I needed a courtesy vehicle but was told since I didn’t buy the car from that dealership, I wasn’t eligible for the courtesy vehicle. Then was told it would be another week before I could even bring my car in. I have a 2019 Crosstrek with less than 7K miles and this dealership was not helpful at all! I’ll now drive a little farther to Casper.

I love this dealership so much that I pursued a career working for them. My first year here, I along with three other salespersons, was awarded BEST OF THE BOAT. We, at Cook, are a family and treat every customer like one of ours. Our local community would be lost without our common courtesy and willingness to help good people into great vehicles. I went in to Cook Subaru for a recall on my Subaru Legacy and decided to have the summer tires swapped for winter tires as well. To my surprise, the tire swap was substantially cheaper than the shop I previously used. Cook took great care of the car and gave it a wash in the heated garage before returning it to me. Friendly people, good pricing.

FIVE stars to Darryl & the guys in the service department! They are honest mechanics, who are genuinely great people! They are so accommodating & not too pushy. They take great care of me and my Suby! I wholeheartedly recommend getting your vehicle serviced there.The sales department however, are your typical used car salesmen in my opinion. They were schmoozers, and had huge egos & snobby demeanor. Our salesman was cramming a doughnut into his mouth and talking with his mouth full when I was in his office chatting about buying a vehicle. Essentially, I was told If you dont buy the car, then someone else definitely will, and you can go look somewhere else. when I attempted to haggle the price due to some dents and paint chipping all over the hood. Then, the manager made a racist remark, in front of me, about the girl at the front desk because she screwed up on paperwork. The sales department (at least the 2 fellows I dealt with) get ZERO stars from me! Sorry.

Bought a Suburban and had issues with the motor that started on our way home from the dealership. Customer service wasn’t the greatest when I called and told them about it. Had to pay for half of the repair bill because “they’re not going to lose any money on this deal”. The work took a week longer than what we were told and we couldn’t get any straight answers from anyone.

I have bought two cars from here .both brand new . one i paid cash then traded that one in on a newer version.but financed the differece on the newest one. Well they crushed me with terrible payments and no Customer service after both purchases.i paid off the balance as soon as possible.I just tried to see if my credit is good at cook.its no good. My credit is my fault. But treatment is outlandish.i think my money will go elsewhere.This place ripped me off . thats how it feels. Beware of this dealership.Steamboat motors is no better. Wecome to the bloat. Oh forgot to mention if you try a trade in get ready to bend over.

I literally take my car all the way to Denver to avoid this place!! I tried to make an appointment and talk to the service tech “Darrel” and he was unbelievably rude over the phone!! My engine blew on my Subaru and I was trying to get it replaced, they never called me back and every time I called they told me I had to leave a message and someone would get back to me, to this day they never did, and this was Over a year ago

UPDATE:2 days before my paper tags expired I called Cook. Since I was told that I would get something in the mail and then I can go to the county and put it on the road.I never got anything. So I call Cook. They say it would be at the county and they should have notified me. Said Covid has them behind.Also said oh I have a check here for you....(for my spare key). I said I have emailed and called multiple times...So I will end this Saga with this I love my car, but I have not had a great experience with the service. I wish I had gone elsewhere. Thier attempts at service have been half-hearted at best.UPDATE:I know the official paperwork can take a while but I have gotten nothing yet from Cook or the lender for my vehicle that was procured by Cook. I dig through the paperwork from the load to discover it was from JP Morgan Chase. So I call them to try to figure all this out. They ask me to verify my mailing address which is clearly labeled on my Cook paperwork as my mailing address and they do not have that in thier paperwork.So my first payment was 4 days later because Cook didnt give the lender the proper information. Thank goodness for thier grace period and my nagging feeling I should have been billed by now.Lets see if the paperwork I need to get my tags makes it here in time I have just over a week still left on my paper tags and nothing....ORIGINAL POST:bought a car from them the other day. 2019 for over 20K.I was told while they were seeing if I qualified for my loan that it came with 2 keys.They let me know I can pick up the keys the following day.I come back to pick up my key and she gets them for me and I go out to the car. I go to test them and they dont work. I let Lianna my sales associate know. She says oh it must be the batteries, I say it didnt work in the car either and she replies the spares wont start the car. Odd, but also I have never had such a new car so I dont question it. She replaces batteries, and the keys still dont work. I ask if they could be the wrong keys and thats when I was thrown off because she gave a short and sparky reply of Its the only Hyundai we have! It seemed that maybe the key itself did not belong to my new car.This is when they come out and pop off the driver side door cover to show the key slot. Low and behold it is the wrong key. Thats when someone else comes out, I didnt catch his name and says we apologize the owners must have sent the wrong keys. It happens sometimes and they assure me they will take care of it and get back to me. This was on April 1st. I bought the car the day before on March 31st.After I havent heard from them I call touching base asking about the status of the spare key.. The reply I got said she thought she emailed me. The owners sent the wrong key, they dont have a spare I would have to buy one myself.This left me unsettled. I replied stating . I dont understand why it would be my responsibility to purchase a new key. That key should have been tested and verified before sale.I would have to insist Cook provide a spare key. Please have someone contact me with how you wish to proceed.Her response was that they dont service keys, that they are not promised and since I have now already finished my financing that it was sold as is. Even though I was told before ever leaving the dealership that they would hand me a spare key tomorrow. She openly admitted they didnt test the key and it was an oversight but refuse to do ANYTHING to correct the misinformation I was given before driving off the lot!And then put me off for a week before telling me, well you own it now so tough luck. I had to chase her down for answers and that was the one they gave me. I will be calling tomorrow. And posting all over how they will make promises for future events and then refuse to follow through or even take responsibility. Once you drive off the lot, assurances or not, they no longer uphold thier promises.Im disgusted with them and will tell everyone.

This dealership tried to take advantage of us. I found them to not understand our needs and just push a very small inventory. After trying to cut through bs they offered a price 153% of what you can get online or any other dealership in the state. My family (3 of us there) felt insulted. I could tell you more about my experience with this dealership but you get the idea.
