One of THE BEST hardware stores ever! Bigger than most. Really is helpful, friendly staff, Everyone, Everytime I turned around asked if I needed help. They are knowledgeable when asked questions, and knew where to find everything.Love this place!

Love the flowers ! Pricey they do have finishing products such as trim that others dont have ...they have a huge array of things that no one else has around here ! They also do some millwork as well. Before heading to Brownwood - try them out !

This is the best Ace I’ve been to!! Has a huge selection of just about anything for the home or job site. Many professional brands. Has an extensive collection of woodworking tools as well. Also has a Home Place part of the store with all kinds of goods for the kitchen, etc

I always stand in awe each time I have the prevledge of shopping here .I love it.

These guys have always gone above and beyond for me any time Ive needed any assistance with something. Whether it be some random diy I got in over my head with or any number of other things Ive ended up asking them about. No matter how busy theyve clearly been, they always took the time to really listen to my questions so as to provide the appropriate and knowledgeable solutions for me. Just beyond nice. Ill return here many many more times just based off of the kindness theyve always showed to their customers.

A fantastic store but determined to gather your personal information. They ask for at least your name even on small CASH purchases and won’t take “no” for an answer! I won’t be returning to shop there.

Please stop asking me for my phone number when I make a purchase. If you need confirmation of my credit card, check my government issued ID. As well, I have read your previous replies when others have made the same comment as me. If I lose my receipt, I accept the fact that I cannot get a refund. If you double charge me, I will call my credit card company and deal with it on my own. There is no good reason for you to collect my phone number.

Love love love this Ace Hardware! They are always extremely helpful, even whenever I come in with unusual requests. I can walk in and attempt to explain what Im looking for and even on the days that I dont make much sense, they always do their best to figure it out! Many of the Ace Hardware stores that I have visited have been super helpful, but this one is the best!

I love this welcoming, accommodating, helpful, happy, clean store. The Home Place at ACE is a store that i loose all track of time.They helped me find exactly what i was looking for for a friends birthday. I bought 2 of the items for myself. At the check out the items were placed into two very attractive bags with colorful tissue paper. If you are looking for kitchen anything, go there.When you go, hubby can visit the well stocked hardware store and also loose all track of time. Lots of easy parking. Many handicapped spots.

They are always friendly and helpful. I cant count the number of times they have saved us with some speciality tool screw bolt part pipe electrical Sunday @ 5pm. Very grateful to have this store in town. Also they have lots of home decor and patio products. We are always checking out the plants and trees for that season. Highly recommended!

Price gouging when your well is out. Just taking advantage of people. Ask for a quote before the work and said we will see. Easily one third to half more than anyone else charges

Nice clean water

I love this place. I can find every drill bit or rotary tool I could want but they are very expensive so watch the prices. I wish they had more accesories for small rotary tools beside the dremmel brand. Know the drill bit you need because I was told one would drill a hole in granite and I didnt have luck with it. I noticed it was not for stone and I should have caught that myself. Great store for convenience and excellent employees that may or may not know what drill bits or rotary accessories are for . Google it! I still recommend this place highly if nothing else its fun to look around and I never leave without buying tons of neat tool accessories.

Always fast in the department of making keys and very excellent work every time I need a key made. Always fits perfectly!

They have a decent selection on items for a small town. Just wish the staff was more friendly they always seem mad. There is one exception the garden people are always nice.

Ace pretty well has what I want. They make good keys! However, they are always higher than big box stores. The employees are very helpful, and the store is open on Sunday until 5:30!

Good place to go for your plumbing parts needs. A sizeable inventory, but sadly, did not have the part that I needed. However, they were helpful enough to identify the brand and model of the part I was looking for which made it extremely easy to locate elsewhere. They didnt get my business that day but provided me with the benefit of their knowledge and experience which allowed me to finish my project. Ill keep them in mind for my future plumbing needs.

ACE Hardware wants to record your name & phone number in their database when you use a credit card. When I objected, they blame “management” and their rules. So, when I asked if they would pass along some customer feedback that I don’t want this info recorded, the lady at checkout just laughed and said “no”. I asked the guy who helped me find stuff if he’d pass along my concern to the store manager, and he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled. So, “no”. Really? They won’t pass along customer feedback? So, here’s my feedback, Mr Store Manager. I don’t want to give you more info to record because someday, your data will get hacked just like all other retailers.

I had not been here in many years. It truly is much more then a hardware store. It has everything from simple tools to large tools, lawn and outdoor equipment, house paints and accessoriesb home rehab and decorating, plumbing, electrical. It even has school and office supplies, grills, pet supplies and food. Therr is a second store attached for all the cooks and home decor buffs. The kitchen appliances and tools is my own personal heaven. They carry the best selection of NordicWare Bundt pans and cast iron in town. They have Cuisinart and other top brands too. You can find almost anything here and not the hassle of a big box store. You are also supporting a locally owned business.

This place has just about anything you can think of. Been going for years and they havent let me down yet. And the staff are courteous and very knowledgeable.

Store is huge with great selection& staff is friendly but not very knowledgeable about the items they sell. I live 30 mins away& went to get a part for my water heater just to get home & find out it was not the right one!!

While traveling through Stephenville, I stopped in Dowell Ace Hardware on chance they might have had a hard to find item. My experience in the store was very good..everyone was polite and helpful. When I left my car wold not start. I was two hours from home, alone, and on a Sunday. I was panicked. I walked back in the store and asked if someone could help me and immediately two young men came out to help...long story short, they found a loose battery cable. The young lady at the register offered her jumper cables and car, the manager came out to assist. These people were so gracious and kind to a total stranger. Stephenville is fortunate to have them as part of their community.

More than a hardware store. Have all kinds of household items that you usually have to drive to city for.

My daughter and I went there to get a replacement for our glass door handle and the girl we approached was downright hostile. I noticed they hire a lot of young staff and thats great but my advice is for them to remind those they hire tthat they have jobs because of the customers. I quickly stopped my daughter after the girl snapped at us and said never mind wed find it on our own. And as we walked away the girl saidI dont have time for this. Charming even after we left her alone because she was rude to us in the first place. Id like to mention that the female cashier was rather impatient too. Ill shop elsewhere from now on.

Do not expect any customer service. There are about 2 guys in there that know whats going on and they have them in the back. The rest of the employees know how to restock shelves and run the register. Thats it.

On May 8th 2018, I purchased a Husqvarna front tine tiller at Ace hardware in Stephenville, TX. It cost $ 449 plus tax. Took it home and within five minutes of running it in my garden, it began making a loud squawking noise while tilling, I shut it down, called Ace, talked to the manager, he said go ahead and run it, I liked about 30 minutes finishing, and it made this loud noise the whole time. The next day I washed underneath it so I could look it over, I found where the inside tine was hitting the iron frame, again we called Ace, they then told us we would have to take the tiller to a repair shop to have it checked out. We tried grinding the tines off that were hitting the frame, we got them to clear it, and tried the tiller out in garden, it still made the loud squawking sound. On the 10th, I loaded the tiller and took it back to Ace, asking for a refund, I was told that it was not their problem, that I had to take it to a repair shop and it was now between me and Husqvarna. I could not believe what they were saying, there they had my almost $500 and they would not stand behind the product they sold me. It has been 14 days since this all took place, and I still do not have a tiller. So please think twice before you buy anything of this nature from Ace, and get it in writing what their return policy is, before you buy from them. No one bothered to mention their return policy to me at the time of purchase. Before this episode, I had been very proud to have this store to shop at, now Im just very disappointed in their customer service.
