I was just a number here. Had multiple issues with brand new regency boat from the day I received it. They didn’t have the right parts on the boat to read the depth in lake, speakers did not work, boat vibrated, had to come get it twice. Then had to send someone to service it a third time at my house. Still not correct. Said it was normal for the boat to vibrate when driving. You will be just another number here. I will NEVER buy another boat here nor would I recommend you buy one. As soon as they were paid, I wasn’t a customer anymore. If zero was a rating, that’s what I’d give them.
Very good highly recommend anyone Buying a boat to go shop there
Great selection. Easy to work with.
Pretty straightforward transaction and easy team to work with. Still have to make a extra trip back down to pick up the manuals and such that were not in the boat when I picked it up as they dont want to mail them. I also order an additional GPS/Fish finder, they had it shipped directly to my house, but it ended up being the wrong one and it was missing a feature. Quick text to Doug (sales) and Sam from the serivce/parts dept called to confirm what was required to make it right. They tried to reorder the correct one, but it was out of stock, so they ordered upgraded individual parts and had them shipped directly to me with in 3 days.
The staff is friendly and professional. I dont think it is possible to find a boat that is perfect in every facet. I will say that Chris Stevens is a stand up person that will work with you to address any concerns after your purchase. If you treat others respectfully you will receive it back. I would not hesitate and already have recommend this business to my boating and bass fishing friends.
Consumer alert!!My friend asked me to post for him.He decided to by a new boat from Grand Pointe Marina in Sterling Heights. Sales told him $ 40,450 and will give him $ 15,000 for his boat. Final price $ 25,450.Finance from the Marina calls him yesterday and goes over the numbers. He asks how much do I need to bring to have a $ 20,000 loan. Finance told him $ 5,750 and his boat. $300 higher than they told him, but document fees etc., he didnt care.Goes to sign the paperwork today and they have the price of the boat at over $ 51,000 and they denied they ever told him they would sell that boat for $40K.Dont waste peoples time Grand Pointe. Spread the word. Stay away from this business.
Dealing with the owner Chris was an excellent experience. He is an honest and honorable person and runs his business as such which is rare these days. This place sets the standard of how to treat people. Very satisfied with the outcome of my transaction here and would not hesitate to do business here again.
I am not someone who typically writes reviews, especially negative ones, but I have been frustrated beyond belief with this dealership. Customer service at the sterling heights location is awful. My boat has been in for service multiple times this season and 95% of the time you call them, the manager does not know the status of the boat and says they will call back right away, but they never do. The person answering the phones also wont let you talk to a service technician that could assist in technical questions. I had to take my new boat there 4-5 times this season for warranty service work that should have been fixed the first time i brought it in, but instead was done incorrectly and needed to be taken back again, only to have the issues still not fixed. On multiple occasions they either didnt fix all the problems the boat was in for, or fixed them wrong. This is all for simple work done on a boat/trailer only two years old that I bought from them new. I have been back and forth to their shop over 3 times now for a hydraulic trailer brake issue that they caused in the first place. Three times now, I went to pick up the trailer after being told they fixed it, only to get there and find that the brake fluid was leaking all over the place and the line held no pressure! You would think for something as serious as a braking system on a trailer, they would fully test the system to make sure its working properly before telling me its fixed... let alone knowing that i have had my boat in for this same issue multiple times already. So now i have to commute my way through traffic with no trailer brakes.. again! As it stands now, the trailer is still not fixed and at this point i am going to have to find another dealer to service it.
As a first time boat owner, I am writing about the great experience I had working with Doug Roosen and the team over at Grand Pointe Marina Harrison Twp. I had looked at a four other boats (at two other marinas) before purchasing my 2009 Bayliner, and what stands out most for me was the friendliness and no pressure to buy as you often see (and I experienced) from other boat stores. Doug took his time answering all my questions making sure I was completely comfortable with the purchase. The whole transaction was flawless and they delivered everything as promised. They earned my business and for that I thank you!Kevin Bayless
Let me start off by saying I had Kyle as a salesman.. It was a nightmare. I purchased a 2017 Party Barge 22DLX Pontoon. He couldnt get the right mouring cover to save his life. Three attempts and still failed. The lies were unprofessional, never called back to update any information. I had to constantly reach out to him. Had sticky note of issues day 1 when delivery was taken. I can say that the owner did apologize and made things right which was greatly appreciated. I did however miss out on some boating. Still need the right table top & pole that was lost in transportation back in for the service/issues hit list. Ill be glad to return what I have because its useless on my pontoon.
Is there a way I can give this place negative stars. This place is horrible. Bought my boat in June of 16. Around August of the same year, my trolling motor stops working. I called them and took my boat in. After 2 weeks of not hearing from them, I called and they told me it was the battery. I understand that they might had to take it else where to find out what was wrong with it, but they should have called me after they found out. And now, may of 17, the same thing is happening. Ive called them 3 times in 3 days, asking if my battery was still under warranty. Every time I called, they said that they would call me right back. Which they never do. Never ever buy from this place.
If I had the option to give it ZERO stars I would! I never write reviews but found it imperative to tell people to stay AWAY from this place! I have never seen worst customer service in my life! When it comes time to buy the boat they will bend over back wards for you and do whatever you want, but after when issues arise they are careless, unprofessional, and outright negligent! Being in sales and an executive myself, I am appalled by their management and their lack of care or proactiveness to fix issues and concerns from customers. They are extremely active when it comes to selling you the boat but become very forgetful and unresponsive as issues occur. I have bought and own expensive products (cars, boats etc.) from various dealers in the past and have always been given exceptional treatment and service based on the experience you deserve for buying luxury products. As they say, you get what you pay for...this is by NO MEANS the case at Grande Pointe Marina of Sterling Heights!FYI- I just bought my boat 1 week ago!! 2019 Monterrey 278SS!!
Friendly staff. Fast service on a couple of warranty issues. Service email updates kept me informed of progress. This was done at the Sterling HTS. location.
Top notch company. Its a family owned and family run business. Thats exactly what your get with Grand Pointe a boating family that can be trusted. Talk to my buddy Rob he knows boats!
We have received horrible customer service from both locations, Lansing & Sterling Heights. We have had issues, and are not getting any response from anyone there. The boat is new & still under warranty. The service engine light is on. Their response “it’s a new boat, that’s normal “. Really??We had them winterize the boat & shrink wrap it, and the swim deck mat was destroyed. They are not cooperating in fixing the mat. No one returns phone calls. We are now thinking of selling the boat, just to get away from this marina.I would not recommend this marina to anyone!!!
Great place to deal with. doug was honorable and chris was also great to work with. top notch service after the sale. bought a boat a couple years back....will buy another from these guys
1st class operation very professional! These guys took care of me and fast
Amazing... They will not service your nearly new Ranger boat unless you purchased it from them? Great business guys 👍🏽Thanks for reply but it wasn’t warranty work, gal on phone stated “you only work on boats that you sold “ I just thought that was strange and can’t believe that makes Ranger too proud ..
Still waiting for things to be ‘made right’ in numerous areas on my 2019 Ranger Reata 200C. Just like someone else experienced, they bait and switched selling me a last year model (2018) engine on a current year brand new boat. On the purchase contract it said “2019” for both the boat and engine along with the serial numbers. When the engine paperwork (MSO) arrived in the mail weeks later it clearly shows it’s a 2018 engine manufactured in 2017 with the same serial number as the contract that stated was a 2019 engine. The boat cover was also swapped out for a used one at the time of delivery. In the showroom the week prior they had a new cover under the seat in original plastic wrap. Below it were the support poles. At the time of delivery I went to the Sterling Heights location to inspect it. Under the seat were only the poles, no cover. I mentioned this to my salesmen Steve who was next to the boat. Before he could answer another employee who was onboard cleaning because the seats were just as filthy as the week prior when I agreed to buy it (and of course I was assured it would be “completely detailed” prior to delivery) said she saw the cover in the office. Steve quickly corrected her and said the cover was in the bed of the delivery pickup truck. She insisted she saw it in the office. He firmly responded the cover for this boat was in the back of the truck. I thought the interaction was strange but verified there was a cover in the back of the truck (it wasn’t in plastic wrap) and let it go. After the boat was put in the water and taken for a test drive the delivery driver almost left without giving me the cover. Extremely disappointingly, the cover was covered in dirt, pollen, and torn in 11 places as if it was dragged over a sharp bicycle sprocket. It was well used and I assume they’ve had the boat since last year and tucked a new cover under the seat for the showroom knowing almost no one would figure out their game before being stuck with a rough cover waiting months for a “warranty replacement”.The delivery driver was nice enough to stop on the way to my house to let me fill up the boat tank at Costco. The paperwork said the marina gifts you five gallons of gas with each boat purchase. My boat specs say it has a 32 gallon tank. It filled 35+ gallons at Costco. Either the Costco pump is way off, the boat secretly has a 40+ gallon tank, or the boat was near bone dry at delivery. Salesmen Steve did start the engine for a quick moment prior to leaving the store so there had to be some gas in the system but I didn’t physically check the level in the tank. The gas gauge was resting on E though. In the showroom there was no battery in the boat. Upon delivery on 5/23/19 I was pleased to see a brand new high quality battery installed but didn’t realize I needed to test the radio prior to taking delivery. On our test ride in the water the radio reception was garbage. Later I figured out the radio antenna under the helm was not connected. It was a simple plug in but shouldn’t have been necessary. Just like the hour I spent detailing the boat after it was at my house. The same dirt was on the seats as the week prior in the showroom and same pollen stuck in every seat crevice (minus a few areas that were cleaned while I was at the store and I helped them clean as well just prior to delivery).Other problems in short were/are: the rear seat screws were stripped out but they sent manager Rob to my home to fix and see the other issues; I still have a torn seat it sounds like they don’t think needs repair; silver paint pen marks on a seat-back; no replacement cover yet; no word back from the Lansing office regarding the engine year and torn seat; all of the title paperwork was messed up and just yesterday, 7/8/19, was finally fixed (including originally being sent the MSO for an engine I didn’t buy).At this point I regret the entire purchase but hope the store will follow through and fix what can still be. I will gladly update my review as progress is made.
Throughly enjoy working with these guys. Rob is the man and gets things done. The family that owns the business is absolute class. I cannot recommend them enough.
My original review was a 5. I purchased 2018 tracker targa v18 and also a cover for the boat. After shopping on trackers website for more accessories I noticed I was over charged for my cover by 300.00. The next day I contacted my salesperson Mark and he told me they would refund me the difference seeing tracker is a no bargaining brand. THIS WAS 8 MONTHS AGO!. I have been given the run around everytime I call. Either the owners not in or just left for Florida. I called today one last time and was told Id be called right back!. It never happened!!! 300.00 will not make me or break me now its principal and how they conduct business. I will be calling tracker tomorrow and letting them know how Grand pointe does business!UPDATE**** ITS BEEN OVER A WEEK SINCE YOU REPLIED AND I STILL HAVENT HEARD FROM YOU!THE COVER I HAVE IS THE ONE YOU OVER CHARGED ME FOR. (I LOOKED IT UP)..
Bought a boat 9 weeks ago at boat show waiting to hear anything from them. Have NEVER gotten a call from there staff, I have called them with an Ill get back with you! Still nothing, now they wont answer phone because of another boat show !! Still waiting to hear about my boat. Ask to talk to owner Manager said she would take care of it. Still nothing ! Horrible customer service. !
Great showroom space! Lots of boats on the floor. Very knowledgeable & passionate staff.
Grande Pointe and Chris have been true to their word. Chris went above and beyond in securing a location for warranty work on my boat in central Pennsylvania. Further, even though Grande Pointe no longer handles Regal Chris has continued to honor all warranty work and has gone to bat for me with the manufacturer.
Great service and responsiveness by Doug Roosen, cant wait to enjoy our new boat!!!
I ordered my boat in March 2018 from Kyle. Let me start by saying I love what I purchased, but leading up to the actual signing of the boat, was a different story. Information I needed to pass on to the finance company was very hard to come by from my salesman, Kyle. During the building process of the boat there was no communication from Kyle unless I initiated it. Getting the vin numbers were a chore! I was told by Kyle that he couldnt get them until the boat was bulit. I made a call to Ranger, and the young lady I spoke with told me the vin was very accessible, (before the boat was complete). When the boat was complete, I never received a call saying that it was at the dealer, I had to call and ask about it. On May 19th (delivery day) there was no SPARE tire assembly on the boat. After asking about it Kyle says he forgot to order it. So from May 19th to now July 4th, I still do not have a spare tire for my boat. Instead of taking the initiative and calling on his own, Kyle has repeatedly pass the buck to the Ranger rep about my spare who has nothing to do with the trailer. Hes a boat rep, not a EZ loader trailer rep. Whenever I call and ask about it, I get the same LIE, Im waiting to hear from Pat. Im tired of waiting! All I want is my spare. The other accessories I asked him to order for me that he didnt (my boat buckles and rod holders that have nothing to do with Pat from Ranger), Ive gotten myself. Be the stand up guy you say you are, and get my spare! It doesnt take almost two months to do so.Follow up to my original post. Thanks for the spare tire Chris. Youre a man of your word.
Sold me a 2018 with a 2017 motor without telling me. Fish finder was supposed to upgraded never was. No apology and thier solution was for me to go buy another and pay them 200.00 to install . Uprade was 200.00 now its 300 for finder and 200 for them to install. I have to pay for your mistake. unfornutely thats not the worst part they upsold us to bigger boat and motor (the 2017 they passed of as a 2018) by preying on my wifes insecurities about the safety of our son who was present at the time. Now we are stuck with a boat thats too big for our garage, a fish finder that doesnt work over 5 mph, cant even see the depth and payed for new motor and they gave us a 2017, whos to say if its been on another boat our been reconditioned. Cant describe how disappointed I am.
Good family owned and operated dealership with one of the best selections of boats in Detroit!
POS marina bought a brand new with Nothing but issues. Avoid at all costs. If I could return it I wouldnt hesitate. Very disappointed in the service here
Their staff is outstanding, product is excellent, and their prices are competitive.
Chris and his team are awesome people to do business with!!
O.k but a little on the pricey side
Promised a 10% discount if I ordered a Ranger. Would not honor the discount when I went to place an order. Bought a Lund instead from another dealer.
Very pleased with Grand Pointe! Great team!
I wish someone would have showed us how to operate the boat and take us out or maybe answer their phone :)
