I was shopping for a very specific brand and style of fan for a couple of weeks online. It was out of stock for 6+ months everywhereI decided to give Ray’s a shot. Sales staff and customer service was amazing! I was able to order the exact fan I was looking for online. Even though it was out of stock for them and everywhere else, it arrived within a month. Pricing was slightly cheaper than online. Will be going to them for all future fan and lighting purchases

Called to get pricing for led lights for my daughters room. 4 times sales guy made sure to bring up price, 4 times I told him I can afford it. Have all the measurements in hand, just needed price for materials. Said they wouldnt be able to give me a quote for 3 days after wasting 15 minutes on the phone. Zero people skills, avoid this location. They show absolutely no interest in taking your money.

My wife and I have been to this location a couple of times looking for fans for our new house. We worked with Amy both times. She is super friendly and knowledgeable! We ended up getting multiple fans that look beautiful!!

If I could leave 0 stars I could. We have had nothing but a run around since March of this year. We ordered 3 lights for our newly renovated kitchen. We were told 3 weeks for the lights. Then when that passed we were told 10 more days. Then May 15. Then we stopped there in June and we were told for sure on July 2nd. They did not call us. We called again and we were told that they came in the wrong finish. We asked for our money back and were told they would be in by today, August 6th. My husband drove all the way out there (about 20 miles for us) and he was told they were in the building and to give them 15 minutes to check them in. He said he would leave and run an errand and return in 15 minutes. He was then told that they never said 15 minutes, it would at least be 1 1/2 hours. He had to leave without the lights. Were having company arriving tomorrow and NO LIGHTS. This company has terrible customer service. Were obviously upset that weve been waiting since March and all we get are lies.

Came in lady at front doesnt speak or acknowledge my presence... i walk around still NOTHING... another lady walks in and she is IMMEDIATLEY greeted and walked around the showroom........... I ride by here daily and was looking forward to FINALLY stopping in..... smh... very disappointed!

Went to this business tried to buy a chandler the lady that helped us seemed like she didn’t want our buisness we called her two times to discuss the measurements both times she just wanted to hurry and get us off the phone so we just went to Shelby design center great customer service walked in and walked out with a chandler little more expensive but much better service

I needed to find a couple new light fixtures quickly so didn’t have time to order. The Novi and Troy stores were friendly and accommodating. I did not have the same experience at this location. The Novi sales person said if there is anything that I see that I like and it is not in stock, they will gladly sell the display. It turned out that one of the items in the color that I needed was on display at the Sterling store, so I had to go there to get it. The transaction was pre-approved and I paid for it before I got there. The Sterling sales person came out already agitated from what we else was going on in the day declaring that she needed to get out there for 20 minutes for a break. She treated me as more of a nuisance than a paying customer. She indicated that normally items have to be ordered (even though they have some things in stock) and they don’t like to sell displays because it takes 2 weeks to replace them, so I am lucky I got the one I got; I only got it because somebody was new and didn’t know and approved it. Strange, considering the Novi store was so accommodating and willing to sell any in stock items or displays (which btw, are easy to take down). I looked at some other fixtures and purchased a new boxed one that had to be picked up in Novi. I would have also bought another fixture there that was on display, but I got it from the Novi store instead. Overall, that is not the treatment I would expect at any retail store regardless of my situation and I would not return to this location.

Wonderful selection. Friendly knowledgeable staff who go the extra mile to make sure the customers needs are met. I worked with Mary who was so instrumental in guiding my decisions. I am so pleased with the results of my lighting picks. One item had to be ordered. It came in way ahead of what they promised. Pick up was easy and a very kind gentleman even loaded it in to my car. . I love the results of the new lights in my kitchen.

Listen, the selection is incredible and always on trend but it’s the service that keeps me coming here. I cannot explain to you the over the top level of helpfulness that Amy and Mary have given my husband and I! It is so incredibly rare to find these days. Hands down the only place to go for stylish lighting and amazing service.

Today was the 2nd time weve done business with Ray Electric on Hall Rd. and both times theyve been GREAT. This time we had Michelle helping us and she couldnt have been any more helpful. She even took a glass shade off of a ceiling fan light that wasnt connected and put it up against a lit lightbulb so we could see what the color of the shade would actually be when the ceiling fan light was on. Previously we dealt with Marti who is just as helpful. I could go on and on about Michelle and Marti, but I think I would run out of space! By the way, as mentioned above, this wasnt the first time weve done business with Ray Lighting in Sterling Heights. All together we have purchased 4 lights and 3 ceiling fans.

My wife and I went to their Sterling Heights location to purchase 2 new lights for our kitchen. We were working with Susan and at first she seemed a little put off like we were a bother to her. We ended up buying 3 lights for a substantial amount of money, all of which had to be ordered. the 2 kitchen lights came in and one was described in their ordering book as silver and was actually gold (not their fault). Then we were told the outdoor light was discontinued but she would sell us the floor model. I asked since it was a floor model with no box, instructions, warranty, been on everyday for who knows how long and possibly missing hardware, would she discount it? She said no! So their hours are terrible and I had to get off work early to be there before 6pm. She then tells me on the phone to hurry up because they close at 6pm and need to close promptly at that time due to the store alarm! While we were there the other salesperson told someone over the phone that she would be glad to wait past 6pm for them if they came in now. Apparently he was more important than us. So, while we were there returning the miscolored light she asked if we were interested in picking out another light and my wife told her we wont have time if we absolutley have to be out by 6pm (it was 5:50pm at that time). Susan advised us to go online and pick something out!!! She asked me if I still wanted the floor model for the outdoor light and I asked once again are you discounting it at all? She said to me why would I, it has just been hanging there. Nothing is wrong with it. I told her its been discontinued AND she wouldnt even attempt to find a box, paperwork or the parts bag for it! She then tells me Im just going to refund you your money, ok! I said fine, got my money back and would never do business there again! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!

I did have to wait a long time to get help, but the salesman was apologetic. After that the switches they tried to sell me were either scratched or had paint on them. I would still give 3 stars because they have parts that other places dont.
