Needed a power supply for my looper pedal and ended up using the wrong one and killing it. Liz was super helpful helping me to troubleshoot and helped me choose a better pedal. Kim was very knowledgeable on what strings paired well with my guitar and playstyle for my guitar and Jess was the nicest, most friendly person greeting me with a big smile when I walked in the store. All in all a great experience, looking forward to going back for my guitar needs anytime.

Such a great experience today. Walked in and was warmly greeted immediately by Jess. Who not only fixed my daughters violin string right then and there. But also showed me how to tune it myself. She was so sweet and helpful. I recommend anyone looking for anything instrument related to go there.

The entire staff is always friendly and helpful. I brought my daughters violin in twice for them to tune and they did it complementary, when I realized it would be easier to buy a tuner, they spent a good half hour walking me through how to use it. Thanks Jess, Katie, Kim and Liz!

I went there yesterday to have my granddaughters violin re-stringed.Jess attended me and was excellent. I had two issues resolved flawlesslyin one visit. Violin re-stringed and tuned. And a new violin case at a great price. The old one was broken. Customer service is top notch. Jess is the best. Thank you.

My name is Lou Fasano and my Daughter was in need of a Marimba to practice on and create an audition tape for the colleges that she has applied to. After calling all around I could not find one local to rent and at a reasonable price. I stopped in at the Stony Brook store and Jess said she would look into it for me and call me. When she called she found me the instrument my daughter needed plus a stand and had it shipped to the store. The rental price was AMAZING. $40.00 for a 3 month rental. Thank you so much for being a life saver and for helping my Daughter prepare for her college auditions. Also a big shout out to Katie and Ken for their help in all of this as well. You folks are the best!!!!!

I just had my first violin lesson with Anna and am blown away by how much I learned in just the one lesson! Anna is knowledgeable, friendly, and so encouraging. The customer service was also fantastic. Jess and Katie were super friendly from the moment I walked in. Such a great experience and I cant wait for my next lesson!

I have never written a review before but Kim at music and arts in stony Brook was so wonderful today I couldnt resist!! I purchased a A guitar a few weeks ago from this store. Everyone who works there is so lovely to deal with . And their prices are fantastic. But today was the best one yet. Kim, couldnt have been sweeter. I brought the guitar in to be tuned. I did not know if there was a fee or not. Kim, jumped up with a smile on her face and tuned my sons guitar, explaining things to us that I did not understand (because I do not speak musician ) she took her time in the sweetest way possible explaining how to tune a guitar and then at the end...there was no charge! When she went to put it back in the box we brought it in she mentioned that they were guitar cases on sale for as low as $25. I just love when people are competent at their job and do it with a smile on their face. Kim was honestly so terrific I wanted to steal her to come work for me at my business!!!

I love this store. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. I purchased an acoustic guitar for my daughter and we had to bring it back because there was a problem with the fret. Liz took great care of us! Very satisfied with the service we received.

I went to Music and Arts Stony Brook to buy an electric guitar and amp. Liz, Katie and Jess helped me understand what type of guitar and amp would best suit my needs, and they even had equipment from other stores delivered the same day. Extremely helpful and friendly. I will definitely be visiting them for future purchases.

I got both my acoustic and electric guitar restrung by Liz, she was very nice and kind and helped me find what I needed and restrung both. Both guitars play great again and I will definitely go back to Music and Arts for any other things I need. Great place : )

I have had such a wonderful experience dealing with this music store. Everyone in the store is always so pleasant, and experienced. They all go overboard to be helpful. Bill at the repair shop went overboard helping me after I bought a used clarinet. As an older adult, and not having played for a MANY years, he went above and beyond to help me. She also swapped out instruments so he would have no down time, gave me some general maintenance tips, and recommended some sheet music to keep him interested. Really excellent shop. Jess & the entire team are friendly, extremely knowledgeable & will go out of their way to help. My daughter had to send on her clarinet for service the day before a concert - they just lent us one to cover & said bring it back when youre ready. Really super - highly recommended.

While tuning my daughter’s violin, one of the strings snapped. We were panicked, but Jess was wonderful. She replaced the string and tuned the violin. She even walked us through how to tune it at home. She was fantastic and knowledgeable. She saved the day!

Weve been coming to the Stony Brook Music and Arts location since it opened years ago. The people -- from sales staff to the music instructors -- are very friendly and helpful. The store manager, Vincent, and all of his staff are a pleasure to deal with.The place has the feel of a cozy, mom and pop store. There is a decent selection of musical instruments and accessories for purchase or rent on site, but M&A can order almost anything you need.I took a free trial music lesson a couple of years ago [with Adam for drums] and have been hooked ever since. Not a bad way to see if it makes sense for you too.Good place for beginners to experienced musicians and whether youre a rocker or lean more toward the classical (or anywhere in between).

Poor equipment condition for rental and would not reimburse the first payment. Rent 1/4 size Cello. Got a broken neck that was glued together and gave a wrong size bow with bad condition. Try to replace with another cello. They were all beat up including cracks on the body. The rental rate is complible with every rental store. Inspect the equipment before you give them the deposit.However, the staff were very friendly.

BUYERS BE AWARE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!! My lesson from this store: Never buy any instrument from this store, they might be used and rented before, and they are about to break down really soon. And those product warranty are NOT reliable!!!I bought my first Bundy piccolo for $489, from this store at the end of 2016 for my daughter. She used it for 2 months, probably played it for less than 10 times. Then it is broken!!!! Not sure if the store gave me an used one!!. When I was trying to claim warranty (this product has a 5 five manufacturer warranty), the store offered me no help in contacting the manufacturer! They can not even provide a phone number for the manufacturer. The store buys instruments from this manufacture, how is it possible that they do not have phone number? I emailed the Bundy manufacturer and got no reply!!!
