I can only say buyer beware -- not everything is as advertised and some sketchy things were done do the car before I purchased to accommodate my requests. My fault for not catching them upon delivery inspection - and after delivery when I pointed out my disappointment - there was NO RESPONSE or acknowledgement that some corners were cut (literally) I paid top dollar for a car but am stuck with a mediocre example. -

This is a wonderful and friendly place. They not only are honest but thoughtful. Everyone was helpful in getting the car and then later the motor loaded. Now it is my project to get it all working. Could not have been nicer. Thanks for finding the rare engine.

Things have been going well so far with the car. Unloading was easy. Got it MA inspected. And drove it around the day after I picked up the car. Its a blast to drive. Love it. I am very happy. Even if the weather isnt great right now and its most of the time in the garage. But spring will come.

I appreciate all of Marcs hard work. It was such a joy driving my 73 MG back home today, it drives like a dream, looks fabulous and is literally a completely different car than the one I dropped off here just a few weeks ago. It is now the car I have always dreamed of owning and Marc has made a middle aged, Connecticut based Englishman very happy! I don’t get excited about much, but today was truly an exception!

I cant thank Marc enough for his assistance in my choosing the Healey. I hadnt driven one since college, it runs great and has been one huge thrill ride. Todays kids will never know! The CD player is also a great touch and it is nice to know I have the backup fuel pump installed just in case.

You are so friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive (and total integrity, a rare thing anymore). You are one of the only people I would consider purchasing a car from on the Internet. I am really enjoying the great JVC stereo you put in, too, it is really nice. The interior is hard to believe after 32 years! You and I lucked out and made a good connection on this deal. I wish I were not 3,000 miles away, I would love to tour your showrooms (someday). Anyway, everything great so far, I will keep in touch, and I will certainly recommend your dealership to everybody.

I really enjoyed meeting Marc and him taking the time to show me around. I could have stayed all day! I think his suggestions around an external jump start point, back up petrol pump and radiator cooling are all good additions as well as the work on the springs we discussed.

Your description of the car was spot on. Your approach to customer satisfaction was professional in every way but you were at times able to maintain a personal touch which is so very important to a classic car buyer. I look forward to working with you again in the future and will be sure to recommend your fine organization to my collector friends. Keep up the Great Work.

After weeks of distraction, I was finally able to do something I havent done in ten years... I put a car up on jack stands! I greased all the fittings(couldnt find 2 of them, but will keep looking), pulled the front wheels off for better access, and marveled at the new suspension! New upper and lower A ams. Uprights, springs, shocks, steering idler arm... wow!. The underside is exactly as described. All original, no rust, no signs of floor welding or replacement. The fender wells are remarkable. I havent yet registered her (waiting for proof of insurance) but I threw an old plate on and terrorized the neighborhood for a few minutes. Shes a delight. I practiced erecting the hood, and after a half hour sweating and panting, promised myself I need to practice more. Anyway it gave me a chance to properly stow the top as per the manual that was so thoughtfully provided. I bought a lead hammer over the net, and a good Porsche friend bought me one as a gift. The last time I put a hammer to a car was one of my old VW beetles! Its good to be working in the garage again.

We wish to thank you for the wonderful experience we had in buying our 1983 Carbodies FX4 London Taxi from New England Classic Car Company. What made this such a wonderful experience is that we had to conduct our business long distance (1250 miles) via phone calls and emails and not in person. We had to put our trust in you for all the answers we needed before deciding to buy.She was very apprehensive about buying this vehicle with only pictures and your responses to our concerns. However, she is now very glad and satisfied that we put our trust in you and purchased the taxi. The difference is a result of the extra effort you made over many days checking out additional details about the taxi in order to answer the questions we raised. The price was very reasonable and our concerns focused around specific interior details which you, without hesitation, got us the answers we needed. The Taxi arrived here just 4 days before a British Car Show in New Orleans. She said if we wanted to go to the car show, I had to drive only the taxi, and not any of our other cars, for those 4 days to ensure our confidence in making the trip so soon after buying the car. Needless to say, we drove the taxi to the show and enjoyed ourselves. Lots of people there, older and young alike also enjoyed getting a chance to step inside, see how roomy it is, and even have family members take their picture in the back and/or the driver’s seat. When people see that the driver is sitting on the right, they say “It’s the wrong side.” I enjoy responding, “No, it’s the Right Side.”We are able to have fun because you and your company sold us a very clean and proving to be very reliable classic car that runs well for traveling to car shows. We can’t thank you enough for the pleasure we now enjoy because of your efforts. Your honesty, courtesy and attention to detail helped us decide to purchase and the rest is now history. As a final note, we belong to the South Alabama British Car Club (SABCC). Many members of the club are very impressed with the condition of the Taxi and excited for us to be able to show it off.Once again, thank you for, as the British would say, a very Singular Experience

There are some impressive pieces in this collection. Trim on many vehicles could be improved, but as Marc points out, what do you want from a 50 year old car?

All is well I got home and the car was running great. I did a steady 65-70 all the way home on the highway with no problem.

I am new to South Carolina, having retired here this past summer. I told a friend about the car I am buying and he took me to a shop not 2 miles from my home and introduced me to Patrick, the shop owner. He is very experienced in maintenance and repairs to English cars and has worked on a few cars sold by you over the years. He had nothing but good things to say about the cars!

This place is definitely a throwback, these cars are kind of surprising, but I must admit I love the thought of a Bugeye with a CD player.

I am beyond delighted with the car, you were right, it looks like a gem. It arrived dirty, but in perfect condition with no scratches, dents, etc. What a relief! Driving home I didnt get past 2nd gear, and I can tell that the car will really fly. It is amazing sitting so low, you are almost on the pavement, and you do feel as if you are going faster than you are. Im getting it registered/insured in a few days and then will drive around Carmel and work on my stick shifting. I havent driven a stick shift in about 20 years. The gearbox is nice and tight, as you said. Thanks for the information and the nice Lotus keyfob in the glovebox. Especially thank you for giving me a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a dream machine.
