Absolutely gorgeous course!! Best and most challenging course we have ever played. Fairy new to the game and decided to treat ourselves to a top ranked course. Did not disappoint. We were pretty humbled but could not get frustrated because of the sheer beauty.

I have nothing but great things to say about working with Liz and the rest of the folks at Boulder Creek Event center. We had to switch venues for my daughters bridal shower unexpectedly. They created a custom menu and the best sangria (also a custom request) for her shower. Everyone commented on how good the food was and what a nice place it was for a shower, such a great location, etc. Thank you for helping making her taco themed bridal shower a success!

Boulder Creek with its manicured fairways, its length, quick greens, different challenges on every hole, island green, and much more is a true golfers course. Its a beautiful 140 slope course with multiple tee boxes to accommodate all golf levels. But this course, as beautiful as it is, is not for the feign of heart. You have to be prepared to play to beat this course. And you cant allow the views to distract you from your game. I would compare the difficulty level of this course with Olde Stonewall in Ellwood City. Boulder Creek reminds me a lot of the big courses I play in North and South Carolina and Florida. Although fairways are wide, the designer placed hazards in key areas to force good shot making. Miss a fairway, and you may be trapped behind a mound, in a trap or pond, or in the thick of trees. Its a stunning course just to look at that would provide a nice scenic walk even if you arent golfing. Everything about Boulder Creek shouts golf at its best. Even the concrete cart paths are in excellent shape. I couldnt find one junk area on this course. Its very clean and pure. The ranger and starter are good guys, and the 15 minute spaced tee times help so that you arent running up on the group in front of you. As is the case with all good and great courses, keeping the ball in play is crucial to putting up low numbers. Miss a fairway, and you are looking at a pretty good scramble to make par. I love this course. I love the placement of its 6 tee boxes giving golfers of all levels different views of the greens. It presents itself from a 5600 yard course (ladies tees) up to a professional competition course measuring 7200 yards. This is excellent. Ownership takes a lot of pride in how it plays. Good drives get a lot of roll to set up great second shots. You have to be patient and not intimidated by its size. Boulder Creek is an Ohio gem worth the drive to play a few times a year. But be prepared for longer rounds due to the very fair greens fees. It attracts a lot of golfers. The ownership should be very proud of the layout and design of Boulder Creek. Its definitely on my loop of must play courses throughout the season.

Had a horrible experience, if I could give it zero stars I would. Pace of play was absolutely horrible. There is no ranger or concern from the clubhouse about speeding things up. Be prepared for 6 hours or more play. GPS died on hole number 2 and would not come back on. Tried to get a hold of the PGA Pro/manager fellow but he wont return calls. Left two messages, plus one the day of, for him to call and nothing as of yet, a week later. One bright spot was the lady at the desk was very bright and nice. Is a beautiful course but definitely not worth the headaches. Will not be back.

Boulder Creek is one of my favorite public courses around Cleveland, and unfortunately today was really disappointing. Had an afternoon tee time on a Saturday. You have to expect a popular course to be playing around 4.5 hours on a Saturday. We played the front in about 2 hours and 10 minutes, but holes 10-12 took an hour and a half. My girlfriend and I decided to just pick up and leave. No rangers came by to speed up the groups. I have never seen a more mismanaged course on a weekend. Groups taking 30-35 minutes to play a par 3 is not okay. I want to continue to play this course but today left a horrible taste in my mouth.

Pretty Good but….Had not played BC in a few years. Had 12:50 tee time on a Friday. The positive: course is beautiful and greens were good. Fees very reasonable. The not so good: GPS on carts deactivated, starter kinda grouchy, overall maintenance of course not what it use to be, and a 5 hour round. Basic problem is that the course is on the challenging side, which makes it quite slow for mid to upper handicap golfers.

Amazing course that has everything to offer. Played very early to make sure I was first and nobody was in front of me. I’ve heard about the pace of play so I made sure that wasn’t a problem.Course was in pretty good shape except one green and the 17th tee box(it looks like everyone plays 4-6 shots) had huge divots. I feel like the course could be in great shape if people had golf etiquette. Pitch marks and divots everywhere. Not the courses fault, but a lot of people play here clearly.Service is what set this course apart from most. Everyone from the cart guy to the pro shop guy where amazing! The driving range was awesome as well. Will definitely play again, maybe late in the day. But I really fear a long round if I play mid day. Great job guys!!!

Tough course from the tips! Fun with done beautiful holes. Course is basically in my back yard. One of the issues people have is pace of play. Tough holes and people who simply do not have golf pace self awareness. You can possibly expect to play a 5.5 to 6 hour round if you don’t get off early on the weekend when we do. Everything else is very nice. The adjoining restaurant “The Barrel Lodge” has great food. Highly recommend. Overall, beautiful course that may not want to be played on the weekend by the 100+ golfers.

This is a really great course with a lot of variety in the types of shots you need to hit. My complaint, along with others, pace of play. Not entirely managements fault, as many golfers play from the tips and even the blues, and can not drive the ball over 300 yds. Do not play from the blues if you cant drive the ball consistently 285+. It slows play and makes the course very tough. Swallow your pride and play from the forward tees. You will have more fun and everyone behind you wont be in for a 6 hr. Round.Management, please raise the price about $10 a round and only have tee times every 15 to 20 min. vs. every 10 min. It will be more enjoyable for everyone. Id rather pay in the $80s, not have to wait every shot and play a round in 4.5 hrs vs 6 hours. I think many will agree, rather be told you are booked for the day then sit on every tee box and fairway for 10 minutes.I want to return, but only if tee times get more spread apart. This is a special course, please make it that way.Thank you,

First and foremost, this was a beautiful course. However, the 2-star review is a direct result of poor management and awful playing experience. We tee’d off as a twosome at 2:20pm. The beer cart stopped serving beer and snacks at 2:45pm. The turn-house to get food or a drink at the turn was closed. It took us just shy of SIX HOURS to play 18 holes. Horrible experience. Again, beautiful course, bur I will never pay money to play here again. Golf is supposed to be an enjoyable relaxing experience, this was long, frustrating, and disappointing. The 3 groups behind us all quit. Will definitely not be back and would not recommend to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere!

Gorgeous course, which doe live up to the hype. This was the first time I have played it, although I did admire the one hole you pass by on the turnpike coming from the east before the 480 exchange. Not particularly long from the gold tees, but plenty of uneven lies, traps and occasional water hazards. If/ when I play it a second time I would choose a club shorter on most of the par 3s.

Played here on 9/28 for the first time. The 2nd star is for the scenery here. Really very pretty, reminds me a little of Castle Pines G.C. in Colorado. The staff however reminds me more of McDonalds. The young lady in the golf shop was on the phone with her boyfriend and couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge me until she was finished with her call (about three minutes of awkward waiting), while trying to find a cart key or someone to ask for one, the outside staff member drove right past me as I tried to flag him down. I went into the golf shop and was told I didn’t need one. Now that I know you don’t need them I feel a little silly but as a first timer, how would I know? That’s why you have a staff, they hand out useful tidbits like that, maybe just say hello, give a smile and pretend you are happy to have business, ask if they have been here before, things like that. The halfway house had either the GM or Head Golf Professional in there counting cash on the front counter and flirting with the counter girl. Unprofessional at best. Pace was fine because it was empty (greens were just punched and sanded) no big deal, it’s that time of year.Unfortunately it is my job to notice dumb things like this, as a Caddie Master at a private Club elsewhere in the country, my sole responsibility is to provide superior service and an exceptionally experience to my members and guests. I get it, I’m short and fat and am generally dismissed at first sight, probably look like I can’t play worth a damn but I am very good at my job and I am rewarded for it. If anyone of my staff members would have been as nonchalant or oblivious to a guest of my club they would likely be fired on the spot. I realize this is not a private club but golf is about service. The least you could do is train your employees to smile and greet people. You can do better. Having said that, the actual course was great, I enjoyed it.

Aside from not being informed at the time of check-in or by the starter that the GPS in the carts was not functional, this course in Streetsboro Ohio is fantastic! This facility has a range that is able to accommodate many people at one time.In light of having above normal rainfall over the past few weeks, the course was in great shape from tee box thru the greens.Pin positions are noted on the score card in quadrants and today was #3 and we had personal range finders to replace the GPS which was not working.I personally think the pace of play could have been a little faster and attribute this to at least 5 holes with pin placement in locations that resulted in several three putts that we observed of the group in front of us, and personal experience!!This course has multiple fairway bunkers and green side bunkers to create a level of accuracy and difficulty for a true test of a skilled player.Very easy to see how this course has been ranked in the top 5 public courses in Ohio and how we justify traveling 2 hours a few times a year to play.

The group in front of us did not even consider letting us play through, and when we asked the ranger about it, he said there is nothing we can do about it. The website and scorecard makes it seem like they take pace of play seriously, they don’t. It’s a beautiful course, but it’s impossible to enjoy when you’re waiting on Every. Single. Shot.

Pros: Very nice layout, very friendly staff.Cons: Terrible condition. Just about every tee box is burning out, all of the greens have burn marks, the fairways are burning out too. I was excited to play here as the website makes it look gorgeous, however if you are not going to maintain the course, it shows. Yes I know there has been no rain for 12 days, however the bent grass doesnt brown up like that unless you are not watering it at all.I was disappointed to drive an hour and a half to play on such a poorly maintained course. I heard such nice things about it however my expectations were not even a fraction of being met. If the course is in this poor of shape in May, I would hate to see it in July

Like many others here Ive admired this course from the turnpike and had hope to play is someday, that day came on Fathers Day. After reading the comments on the dreaded 6+ hour rounds because of slow play, I was a bit concerned. Our round took 5.5 hours but we were never held up, in fact Im not sure there is any way to play a course of this caliber in under 5 hours. The drive from green to tee is as impressive as the course itself. Conditions were great greens were true (slow but true) and, aside from the 18th, the fairways were in very good shape. And not one but two par 3s with island greens! Very nice indeed. Given this is in Ohio I was also impressed with the elevation changes and undilation of the fairways and greens. Ill welcome the opportunity to play at Boulder Creek again.

The course itself is a great design, however, be very wary if you make advanced reservations for a group. I just discovered they dropped my group (6 foursomes) for a larger group and only found out when I called them to check something else. While I can understand the desire for a larger group, I think you owe at least some consideration to people who already have existing reservations. Simply dropping them is extremely unprofessional, and even though it’s a great course, I won’t be patronizing them in the future.

First the good. This is a great track and the course is in pretty good shape but soggy from the recent rain. A lot of great holes with risk/reward options. Now the bad, expect slow play and 5 1/2 hours to get around this track. The day I played it was cart path only. Many if not most of the cart paths are away from the fairways, so expect to do a lot of walking. Take a lot of club options with you. Even without the cart path rule, it’s still 5+ hours to get around. The beverage cart girls must not want to earn any tips. They are driving around but not stopping to see if you need anything. If you don’t wave them down they go right by. If you are over a shot, you’ll miss them. Remember, the cart paths are away from the fairways. There is some kind of construction project going on on the course. The workers care less about the golfers. One guy on a loud cart drove up on us on a tee box and drove right on by down our fairway when we were teeing off. We had to wait until he was out of range to finally tee off.Too bad it takes so long to play the course or it would get a much better rating.

Dude needs to be taken off his power trip and striped of his ranger status. Then he followed us around like criminals. A kid in front of us ramped his cart and the old guy didn’t bat an eye at him. A couple of groups ahead of us backed up until we waited between 5 and 10 minutes to hit each shot. I am embarrassed to say how bad i played the remaining 15 holes. No marshall in site, as we finished in just under 6 hours!Upon arrival we dropped our bags off at the drop, but were not greeted by anyone, the guy at the counter was friendly, but the starter seemed rather bored. The driving range, although acceptable, had the worst balls i ever have seen, especially at a course of this caliber. Not sure who is managing this course, looks as if they are making improvements, but they need to get rangers on the course to improve pace of play. Bunkers need some help, and they need to tell their ground crews to stop mowing near the greens when your putting.I will be back, at a time when their is fewer golfers as the layout was both fun and challenging.

Our first group was about 25 minutes late teeing off. No explanation. From that point our first group did not finish until almost 4:00 PM. Almost 6 hours. Waiting for every shot. We never saw a ranger until we had only 3 holes left to play. A 6 hour round a Tuesday!!! Absolutely unacceptable. Beautiful course, terrible experience. We come to this part of Ohio every year and are not likely to return to this course.

This course needs a new manager! No one is monitoring the pace of the players on the course. It took 7 hours to play 18 holes! Also the new GPS golf carts suck! If you go looking for your ball the cart shuts down until you go in reverse all the way to the cart path!!

What real American does not give an American soldier a discount? You get to run and own a golf course because of our brother and sisters who died for your rights! Greedy people who do not recognize the sacrifices others make so they can live in their bubble, I have zero respect for them!!!

Beautiful course, but wont be back. Horrible slow play, in some fault by the course design. Tee times booked too close together, constantly waiting on every shot with the group behind pushing...ugh... dont go there unless you want to spend 6 hrs for a round of golf.
