I tried cleaning the lint out of my dryer myself.. not the lint trap but the inside of the dryer. Did I mention there were clothes in the dryer when I did this? Afterwards, it made a loud noise & was bouncing around. It smelled like something was burning. When I folded my clothes, I was missing a sock. I never, ever lose a sock.. ever. I called an A&_ Appliance company. They came out for $89.99. They determined that I needed a new blower & motor assembly but it was on backorder with each of their distributors. 7-10 business days. Only another $226. I was patient. Used my sisters dryer. I have a lint trap on the outside of my house. I noticed that it was jammed full. Opened it up & there was a piece of my sock. I had a feeling that the rest of my sock was stuck in the motor. I watched a few Utube videos & figured I could take dryer apart myself. But, before I did I called BTP Appliance & spoke to Gary. To make a long story short, he told me NOT to take the dryer apart myself. He said it was rare that a dryer needs both the motor & blower replaced and it sounded like A&_ didnt know what was wrong with the dryer so they were going to replace the whole thing.I made an appointment for Gary with BTP to come take a look at my dryer. I am SO GLAD I did. It turned out that it was the rest of my sock in the motor & with his expertise he was able to remove it. Dryer ran like a charm and still does. Total cost $95. Gary was knowledgeable, professional & honest. I referred him to my sister, the one who let me use her dryer, a week later when her stove stopped heating above 250. I will recommend BTP & Gary to everyone I know. They are the only company I will call in the future to fix any issues I have with any of my appliances. Thank you so much BTP & Gary. You are truly awesome!
