Me and 4 of my girlfriends went and had an amazing experience. Loved the Narnia theme, food was amazing and desserts were so yummy as we shared 3 different ones. Mac and cheese sandwich was surprisingly very good.
What a fantastic find this place was! Very unique decor and the food and desserts were absolutely amazing!
Extremely offended by a restaurant that “bans masks” ………. No matter what your affiliation …… this is ridiculous and irresponsible and does nothing but alienates customers who have the right to decide whether or not to wear one. Just dumb business model all around. Also … WAY too cluttered and the staff feels the need to discuss their political beliefs as you dine … not enjoyable and will never go back.
This place is amazing!! I went for my 40th birthday. The atmosphere and food were both great!! Perfect place for a girls luncheon!!
Loved this bakery; so fun & creative! I felt like I was in a themed cafe in New York. My sandwich & tea was delicious & the desert was unreal! Can’t wait to go back whenever I make my way back to Georgia. Much love from Charleston, SC!!
I stopped in yesterday to try something new. First impression is it is really messy and I’m honestly surprised they are allowed to serve food here. It’s not a sanitary place. Also the conversations were pretty inappropriate.
Throughly enjoyed our group experience celebrating a birthday yesterday. Theme and decor outstanding and festive. Small dining area and reservations are suggested. Staff very accommodating and friendly. The food was good and the desserts were amazing and delicious!.
Wanted to like this place. At first glance the decor was cute but honestly it just was random junk. It was also all very dirty, dusty and cluttered. Everything was horribly sweet including the mimosas (if you can even call them that, it was just sugar peachy syrup and sparkling moscato). The French toast wasnt warm and the bread was dry and tasted old. Service was bad and we didnt get our waters until the middle of the meal. I went to the bathroom and it was so crowded with junk -- no way anything in there gets cleaned.
Doesnt serve people who choose to be safe and wear masks. Dont bake their own confections. Ignorant hacks.
I see what they were going for with this joint, but the mark has been missed by a mile. It is insane how cluttered the entire restaurant is, especially the restrooms. Seems like everywhere you turn there is some other item of clutter covered in dust. The food itself was ok (not great), but Id get it to-go if you absolutely must try it.
Dry sweets with light notes of flavor. On the surface, most looks okay, but once you take in the environment, you can tell they do not care about their or your health - an occasional sweet treat is fine, but when it’s subpar in a messy place with toxic vibes, I’d rather not and wouldn’t recommend.
The food here is not fresh bordering on completely stale. The restaurant was very warm and poorly air conditioned. The bathroom was filled with clutter and there is just no way it is clean in there.
You definitely cannot find a better atmosphere! This place is beautifully decorated inside & out! The entrance is a wardrobe to Narnia, you walk through the wardrobe.I had the egg salad & my daughter ate the Western omelet, both tasted delicious! All food & drinks come out on unique dishes that are absolutely precious. The baked goods look amazing... we tried the chocolate covered cannoli. One of the best cannolis ever. Cannot wait to go back!Wonderful place for a date. You can call to make a reservation ahead of time. (alcohol available, Mimosas come with strawberries)
What a wonderful experience. Saturday brunch and felt like a princess in fairy world. Such a gem. Make reservations! This is worth the drive from anywhere in the Metro region. I ordered the Ruben and it was not your standard thick sandwich, but I loved the shredded corned beef. Different, but delightful, like the whole place!
What responsible proprietor bans mask-wearing in the time of COVID? My two friends and I left as soon as we heard that “God does not wear a mask” as part of the owner’s explanation for “NO MASK ALLOWED.” Outrageously irresponsible.
Id been really excited to come here for awhile and finally was able to. Ive always seen it from the outside, which looked so enchanting. I came here for lunch with my husband, f-i-l & s-i-l. We all ordered different variations of the mac n cheese sandwich. I ordered the veggie one, and I asked how much would it be to add bacon? The waitress asked an older gentleman, to which he said itd be a $5 upcharge! We ordered tea&lemonade, tea, peach coffee, & peppermint coffee. Each drink just tasted off, not sure if it was just the cups used maybe, but tasted like dishwater..All of their desserts are from my favorite place, Alpine Bakery, which I noticed and pointed out & the lady looked at me like a deer in headlights and kept talking over me.. They also upcharged the desserts ALOT & gave way smaller portions than Alpine! The inside was beautiful but you could barely walk, and it was hot even with the door open..Our waitress was sweet, and the food was decent, it was just not the experience expected. Between lunch, drinks, & desserts for 4 people it was around $102..Would recommended a visit on one of their good days, but not a regular eatery.
AMAZING FOOD! Great atmosphere! Loveeee
Enjoyed cute little restaurant; great for little girl parties and Fabulous deserts. Most impressed with who ever supplies bakery items!
It is a new town, modern dinning places, clean, moderate pace, not a whole lot, so plan accordingly.
I cant describe this adorable little gem (tucked away off of Peachtree Industrial Blvd. & Hwy 20); you simply have to experience it in person. When my sister and I were there its as if we were in a childhood dream. The decor inspired WOWs and OMGs, and all the little touches make it sooo worth a visit. Example: hand written bill on cute notepaper enclosed in a thank you card.As for the food...DELICIOUS!!! Mary had Creme Brulee French Toast, and I had Snoopy (Macaroni & cheese with Maple bacon, Honey ham, all on Cheddar and onion toasted bread. There was also mixed greens with their amazing SugarHillLand vinaigrette. The desserts made our eyes roll back in our heads, as we moaned over the sheer yumminess! 😂 I cant wait to take my husband. ❤Im only posting a few photos of the little touches, because you must go through the wardrobe entry to Narnia to see for yourself. Complete and wonderful sensory overload. 😉
Bakery goods bought and up charged. No masks allowed. Divisive place. I don’t feel strongly for masks but why be hating on masks?
OMG the cupcakes are so good I will drive 2 hours just to get more!!!
Imagine still thinking covid isnt a big deal? Im so glad you live in Narnia but the rest of us are in the real world where people are dying.
I just had lunch here today for the first time... Love the atmosphere. The food was fantastic.. had the top shelf burger.. delicious. Warm, friendly people working there. The owner is lovely.. highly recommend this little bakery.. my favorite place so far.
Unique place. Great food and service.
LOVE this Whimsical + Magical restaurant and all of its Narnia touch!!! My family has come here every year for the last 3 years for a mom and sister date to kick off the Christmas season and we love it every time. From the decor to the food — it is so wonderful! The owner and staff are always so kind. The whole experience of this little place is just perfect!!
Great cute place. Very friendly
LOVE Sugar Hill Bakery!! Wow love the decorations! Love walking to Narnia in the bathroom! We had the chicken salad sandwich. It tasted so fresh and so delicious!! The cupcakes were sunny yummy!! We tried the chocolate, raspberry chocolate and the Oreo cupcakes! They were amazing! Love the staff and the owner! Looking forward to coming back again very soon!!
A very unique restaurant. Perfect for a girls day or tea party. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
IM A SNOW FLAKE & I LOVED IT—— This was a fantastic experience, I’ve never been any where like it! The owner and the other server were SO attentive and kind & the food was absolutely phenomenal. It was also very cleanly. I would 100% recommend everyone to go here!!!
What a magical place! The environment is so elegant and enchanting! The food is to die for. Also, I have to love a restaurant that is true to American values and celebrates freedom and democracy! Masks aren’t required, but if you wear one, that’s fine too.
This review is purely based on their care of the bakery and their food NOT their political stances.this is the first review ive ever given but this place is just disgusting. cat litter stored above food products and its so cluttered that it makes it nearly impossible to truly clean the facility. dont even get me started on the food. they pass off other peoples baked goods as their own which is just deplorable. ive eaten there and have even given it 2nd & 3rd chances. its never improved which makes me quite sad. the idea behind the bakery is wonderful. the execution, not so much.
A treat for the senses! What a heavenly experience. As an artist this place made me feel truly joyful. Not only was the food displayed as a work of art, it tasted magnificent. A truly divine experience. I recommend to anyone looking to get in touch with their creative side and be reminded what life truly is about.
Wow this place is so unique and family friendly! Highly recommend the chicken salad and the chocolate mousse cupcake. They put the cupcake on the grill. Can’t wait to go back for more!
Most of the weak reviews are literally people who disagree with this bakery’s stance on the covid hoax. Don’t believe me? Run a sort and see when the majority of 1-star reviews are...almost ALL are after April 2020. There was a “leader” on the Nextdoor App that organized an effort to bring this bakery down from a 4.88 rating to sub-3.00.If you’re looking for a new experience...go to this bakery. It’s a step back in time and an escape from your routine chain restaurant. Places like this should be cherished. They’re different, quirky, & a great expression of what the American Dream is.
Disgusting health code violations. Workers wear their hair down, open toed shoes and the cat food in the kitchen is horrific. Do NOT come here. Had a tomato on my plate with a bite out of it, which doesnt seem to be uncommon. As well as a 1$ refill for soda, my waitress did not inform me about. Total came out to 45$ for two people, uninformed charges and disgusting environment.
Most negative reviews are about the owners political stances but my GOD that food is immaculate and is so worth it. I very much recommend this place, the food tastes home made and the atmosphere is wonderful. Never let this place close! (By the way I recommend the muffins, they are wonderful; the coffee is really good as well).
Had a bridal luncheon here today. First time ever visiting this place. Very creative concept! The food and desserts were all good. Service was great. We all loved it and really enjoyed ourselves. Will be returning!
Came here for a bridal luncheon a while back & it was amazing! The bakery is so cute and wonderfully decorated. It really felt like eating in a magical forest. The owner was very sweet and the food was delicious!
This place is horrible, not only for their uneducated decisions but the food as well. A lot of reviews on here saying all the negative reviews are just trolls that have never eaten here. I have eaten here before all the covid and political biases have took place. The food is such as bakery items are not fresh and actually bought from other makers and passed off as their own. They have had multiple issues with the health department due to cat food being stored above the food. The place is filthy, if you dont believe me just walk in and swipe your finger anywhere and see how it comes up. I dont agree with their views but to each is on, but lets be real the only positive reviews are just the people trying to hype a place because they want to argue with the other side. The food is not good, the products are forged and misrepresented without referencing the original creator. The overcrowded decoration has caused an unclean environment, and as far as their views towards covid this is actually a law by the health department and they have been cited already. So even if you are against mask you are actually breaking the law just being among these people so good job saying people are only having an issues because they dont follow the law. You are among them. For the safety of all people do not eat here, covid, food handling, animal products, and etc. It is not safe no matter your views.
I enjoyed the Poched eggs and steak.Absolutely the best I have ever tasted. My servicer and the others couldnt have been better. My server remembers what I had ordered Previously.Great place.Bill D.
Skip this cluttered space. It verges on a hoarder space.. and buy baked goods direct from Alpine Bakery. Alpine is worth the drive to buy from the source directly.
Not getting involved in the politics but the restaurant is horrible. The place is cluttered and gross. The staff were uncomfortable to be around, that’s the only way to describe it. The food wasn’t good at all. I brought home dessert for the family and we threw it all out after one bite. It’s also worth noting that the place is not handicap friendly either. I am shocked they are allowed to stay open with the entire building being a safety risk. There is so much “stuff” everywhere that 4 people could not get out quickly. Save your money and protect your health and stay far far away.
#1- The food is AMAZING, nothing is better than a mom and pop dinner/café. I could eat there every day!#2- The atmosphere is so homey and chic. It is like you walk into a magical wonderland.#3- The staff is just wonderful, you really feel like a cousin at a family reunion. #GoodFood #GoodFellowship
They had gluten free cake, red velvet cupcakes and many other delicious options! Thank you for curing my sweet tooth. Plan on coming back to try everything!
An interesting and fun place to eat. Good people. Reservations recommended. If you are a freedom lovin American that likes excellent food, this place is for you.
Amazing food. Great people . Ignore those bashing them for their political views. Have a slice of pie and chill!
Must try their free special - COVID19! Delicious! If a place is not going to follow expert/government health recommendations then in most likelihood, they dont follow hygiene protocols either. Gross. Would never eat there and will make sure my friends and family know too. Disgusting.
I could not have had a better birthday, my absolute best one yet! Due to the pandemic, the bakery had shorter hours (to our unknown). My fiancé called to make a reservation (just in case) and heard on their voicemail that they were already closed. In despiration, he left a voicemail saying how this was one of my favorite restaurants both because of the food and decorations. Long story short, the owner called him back & she opened back up for just us! It was the absolute best and to top it off, she made a toast to us with a story to commemorate my birthday. It was the absolute best birthday I have ever had & makes this place even more special ♥️
This place is wonderful the people are nice and i have never had a meal i didnt like! While the inside is a bit cluttered that just ads to the wonder and aesthetic of the place! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Great place, great food, owners are so kind and attentive. Loved our familys experience here for our boys ninth birthday lunch!
My mother (in her 70’s), myself and adult daughter enjoyed our lunch. The place is whimsical, delicious and simply different. And experience. Delicious, reasonable and an escape. Thanks for the pretty dishes and whimsical dessert display! The chicken salad was yummy. Cannot wait to come back!!!
My wife has taken our daughters here a few times. The food she would bring me was fantastic. We were driving in Sugar Hill and the sign outside caught my eye. They proudly support law enforcement and the military. As a retired police officer I felt obligated to visit today. And I was not disappointed. The most eclectic restaurant Ive ever seen. The owner Nancy came over and asked how the food was, she was so gracious. I then learned that on the flip side of the sign out front it says that they dont wear masks or social distance. So that made it even better, to know that there are other Americans that can actually think for themselves and not believe the false reports that come from the main streamm media. As Ive said before, wear a mask if you want. If you are certain that they work, then why do I have to wear one? Will definitely go back and support this great American Bakery!
Really fun place to enjoy a light lunch or tea. Very whimsical decor! Perfect little place to get away from it all!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE AND NANCY, YO ARE THE BEST!!
Its kind of dirty inside. I dont know how they pass health inspections. The food is just ok. Much better options on the same street. Also alienating half of your possible clientele is not very business savvy.
Went there once prior to world becoming infected. I was looking for cookies or cupcakes of which this bakery had none. Now that I have seen their open deviance of science and Georgias state mask mandate I will never go there again. It was dark, dusty and the decor was straight out of Arsenic and old Lace, holding the arsenic but providing the covid 19
Save your money and your health. The service here is terrible and the food mediocre. There are so many things hanging from the ceiling that are covered in dust that is makes it hard to breathe (it is impossible to clean well in there) and is an allergy induced asthma attack waiting to happen. Not to mention that they have crammed so much stuff in there that it is extremely claustrophobic.
Dont listen to the negative reviews from people who have never visited this restaurant. We should be free to have different beliefs and not cancel people or businesses that you disagree with. If you dont like their policies, dont visit and support them but dont make fake reviews because you dont like their politics. This restaurant is a hidden gem and totally worth a trip.
A “bakery” that doesn’t really bake anything. I would love to find out what real bakeries they get their deserts from, so I can support them directly. The whole place is cluttered and dusty. The sign upfront regarding masks and social distancing only validates my choice not to support this business in the future.
Decor is overdone. Covid policy is egregious. I prefer my chicken salad with more seasoning and less politics.
This “bakery” doesn’t bake anything, rather sells baked desserts. No COVID safety protocols in place, dirty inside, not worth the stop.
They ignore science and safety. Just remember, this bakery is one of the exact reasons why we cant have a normal life currently (sports, concerts, etc) and past that they are making it apparent they do not care about your life, or any other persons life. They do not care about the hospital workers ruining their mental health and risking their lives treating covid patients that are Infected due to people and businesses just like this one. I avoid mediocre baked goods anyways, much less ones that carry a dangerous virus
Would not recommend. If they spent as much time on their menu as they did making signs to spread false information it might be ok....But seriously, if they refuse to follow CDC guidelines then I can only imagine they also don’t follow health inspection guidelines...yikes
This place is so lovely! The food is fantastic. Best croque madame I have ever eaten! Their desserts are heavenly! Highly recommend.
This place is pretty. Although the service is not and good luck calling them. They never answer the phone. My daughter went to eat there for Prom and they were told the kitchen was closed, 45 minutes before close. And all they wanted was dessert.I also had my wedding reception here because it was so beautiful. The owner is cold as ice. Not pleasant to deal with at all. And we were charged $1000 for 15 people and finger foods only. Everyone had to pay for their own drinks because we couldnt afford it.We also had to buy our cake else where because they didnt want to make a specialty cake. Horrible horrible. Dont waste your time or money.
Delicious food
Love this place. Great food and atmosphere. Everyone is so nice there
I had heard a lot about this place. Some good, some bad. Decided to try it for myself. Not a cake or chocolate person so I thought I would try some cookies. They were so cute! Was really looking forward to eating them. I have asthma so I didnt try them until I was driving home. They were NOT good. VERY dry. Little flavor. And the frosting was hard as a rock! BLECH! Had to throw them in the trash! Place is cluttered and dusty. Never going again.
Latinos denied service here
Very good service and incredible food! Also very accommodating for my dairy allergies.
The tattered, weathered Trump flag flying out front made me physically ill, so I can’t imagine the food would be any better.
Want to get sick with COVID-19? Come here!Outside the shop, the business has posted a sign saying “We do not wear mask, we do not social distance.” They’re going against CDC recommendations and ousting themselves. Typically businesses provide a safe environment for customers - not here!Keep this in mind when in two-weeks you’re at the hospital racking up a $15,000 bill.
The 1 stars are only by people who have never been here only dislike the political thoughts of others... this place is amazing and ill be back over and over again
This place is amazing! The service is friendly and makes you feel like family. As soon as you step in the door, you greeted with lots twinkling lights and whimsical decorations. This is a little girls dream! Its Narnia meets a little bit of Alice in Wonderland. Its magical here. When you come to eat here, get a cupcake for dessert!
I hate leaving a bad review, but the food wasnt good, the service was worse, and it felt claustrophobic in there. We had to squeeze into a tiny booth with a comforter for a table cloth and a wine glass for water that wouldnt stand up on the comforter. Their deserts are clearly bought from another familiar bakery, and sold as their own. We were excited to try it out, but will never go back.
Poor ownership & management. Nancy is nuts. Also it’s nearly impossible to sit in here and not have a claustrophobic attack from all the clutter. This place is a fire waiting to happen. On next door they were brought up last year for passing off a local bakers work as their own.Just not good people, and not good business.
A restaurant that actively brandishes the fact that they dont wear masks and dont social distance during a pandemic of a century. Thank covidiots like these for the sad state of cases and deaths in this state. I wouldnt eat here if it was the last food on earth.
This is such a cute idea but it’s poorly executed. The service is unenthusiastic and slow. The food was soaked in butter and portions were small for what they were charging. The food we ordered also was missing key elements that were listed in the description, such as the French gravy and brioche, and there was no orange juice in the mimosa. Their baked goods taste like freezer burn. The frosting on the cup cake was separated and was clearly not made fresh that day. They also packaged the cupcakes in a paper bag not a box so when I took it out the cup cake was all smooshed. This cupcake was $5.50 and it was not worth that at all, we threw it out. There are plenty of great cafes out there this is not one of them. Dine at your own risk.
I had to dumb down this review because obviously ... anyway horrible food and horrible service. I didn’t try it but you can just tell, you know?
Their store appearance is a disgrace to the town.
Chicken salad sandwich was delicious! Slice of Happy Crazy cake was delicious and enough for two! Be sure to make a reservation as only a few tables and very popular/busy.
Place is ok but not great food. As so do not wear mask and want you to take yours off at the door. I have been here a couple of times but left when I was not able to protect myself.
