This is our family to-go bookstore. Every time we go there, we will have amazing finds. This bookstore carries a wide range of books, kids, fictions, cooking, medicine, foreign language, and manga/comic books! They also have beautiful selections of notebooks and fun board games too. We go there very often, and they have new stuff every time we go. I also like the facts that you can sell your old books to them. We have so many great finds in this bookstore, and the price of the books are amazing! The conditions of the books do vary, but most of the time the condition is great.

Awesome book store to support! It’s a shame that some of the other locations have been closing recently. Always good finds here for great prices. And they’ll buy your old books! I used to always come here for my school reading books and now like to come just to browse and see what interesting titles I can find. They also feature new releases and best sellers! Also a good spot to buy vinyl records. If you’re going to buy books please consider supporting this great store!

Always organized and reliable source for second hand books. Has great selection and most of the popular books would be on display. They have a section to sell your used books as well. The employees are very friendly all the time!

Come here all the time as my daughter loves collecting manga books.We probably stop by a couple times a month looking for new stocked items and getting our old stuff priced out.Friendly staff and highly recommended.

This is a great Half Price Books. The staff is super helpful and they have a great collection. The highlights are the rare books section and the bargain bins sprinkled throughout the location. I always bought my books for high school English classes here, and I have to say the store is a bit of a time capsule for me - in a good way! You won’t always find what you want but sometimes you walk away with unexpected treasures. Sadly the price you get for selling books isn’t great but saves you a trip to goodwill.

Such a large corporation scamming the little guy. FYI, if you buy a $4.99 book from there and try to sell it back, they will offer you 69¢. They did offer me 41¢ for three books: how generous 🙄

Well, I walked in with my daughter to sell some books. I walked in with 2 boxes of books. Everyone was wearing a mask. I began to feel the onset of asthma come on. I walk to the sell counter and was told I needed to wear a mask. I told him I feel an asthma attack coming on and wasnt going to wear one. He tells me where to put the books down and I literally end up nearly dropping the box. I reach for my inhaler then am told to wait in the store (as long as I have a mask on) or wait outside. Well, I would think as long as Im 6feet away everyone should be fine even while everyone is wearing a mask. Feeling like I was being treated as though I had a deadly disease I walked out and waited outside. I know so long as you have a medical condition you are excused from wearing a mask however not in this case. This pandemic has instilled such fear that even a person with asthma is considered contiguous. I wasnt viewed as a person but as a disease. I literally go everywhere without a mask bc of the asthma. Ive already had 7 asthma attacks in 4 days and a total of 14 since the pandemic and it hadnt been a yr yet. The most I get are 2 to 3 asthma attacks a yr. 14 in less then a yr is way to many for me which is triggered by the mask. Id like this store to know that seeing a person with a medical condition such as asthma isnt contiguous and ask that they see being 6 feet apart no different then wearing a mask and if everyone is wearing a mask why distance 6 feet apart? I would have argued with them but was unable to take my stand do to the asthma attack which sucked. I wont be returning to this store again.

This half price location is definitely my favorite. I always find something I like! I come here often. Great selection of music, movies, and books.

Great service and prices.

I took a box of books to see if they would buy any from me. They took about a third of the box, and I would have left the rest of them for recycling, but I was told that due to COVID they are unable to recycle books and they would be put in the landfill. I certainly hope that things will get back to normal, because I ended up taking the rest of the books back with me so I can properly dispose of them, if necessary!

This place is kinda in the middle to the left of the shopping center. Its a book store location where you dont feel like its a big store; its not little either

You might as well recycle any old magazines. They only want the two most recent months. I hope that theyll open Half Price Books inside Loop 610 again soon.

They take $2 books and give us 10 cents and clean it and put it for $3

My first time selling books here. Brought in several bags of books, including hardbacks and textbooks and was offered $8.00. Id rather donate to a library, school, etc...not a positive experience.

Love this place! I always find something to read. This time I was taking Mom who needed large print books. The cashier showed me to the area and we went home with 3 books.

Location always has solid inventory and good ambiance for browsing. The selling experience is not as fruitful.as it once was as percentage for items is now only typically 4-6% of what items will be listed for on the shelf but I would rather see these stores survive than try to squeeze a few more cents or dollars from items being sold to them.

They have a great selection of books, and you can always call them to check if they have a book in stock.

This Half Price Books is conveniently located right off of Hwy. 6. Its a good store to visit as items are well-organized and easy to find. Store employees are always on the floor working and theyre ready to assist. Theres a good-sized clearance section in the back. They buy used books. The store and its bathrooms are clean. Join their email list and receive coupons and special events sale announcements. Ample parking, plus bookstore is close to shops & restaurants.

Whats not to love about books at half (or better) their original price? This is a cozy book store. Lots of stuff to look at including books. They have a decent little section devoted to board games. If youre into vinyl, they have a few rows of albums. I personally enjoy the vintage section. My daughter always leaves with a good find. And of course, they will buy books. Which we typically just turn around as store credit. Win Win.

I have always loved Half Price Books since I lived in Dallas Tx but a friend mentioned that there are a few here in Houston so I had to visit. I did purchase a cd upon leaving.

The store is still organized as usual. They have done a remarkable job maintaining social distancing.

Love this store! They always have cute gift options, calendars, puzzles, journals and of course a large and extensive variety of books!

Thus place is awesome! Watch for the 50% coupons for big ticket items. I love the clearance section for DVDs and Blu-rays. $2!!

Went there to sell some books and the complete honesty of the management was very refreshing I received a call on the second day after having sold my books and the call was from one of the managers telling me that I was underpaid for one of my books which was Fahrenheit 451 which I have had for three decades they called to say I was owed some money and would I come in and pick it up???? I thank them for their honesty and integrity and went and got my money. I love Half Price Books.

Super nice staff. Dropped off a few books to sell at the counter and asked where the woodworking books were. He said It is difficult to explain so let me walk you over there first and then Ill work on your offer while you are looking. That is service, and I found just the book I needed!

Went there trying to find a book called Parkinsons protocol. Id really like to get a copy of that for my friend that has Parkinsons Ill really want to help him an I think this book would be good but I cant get my hands on a copy. They searched a entire 50 mile area.

My experience with this location is always good, meaning I always find something for my collection. Around in early July the company sends there coupons, that are worth signing up for, just give the cashier your zip code & your all set.Today was 50% Off the highest price item. And as you can see, my wife made out like a bandit on the wireless bluetooth headphones.Plus she got a cute cat cellphone holder & I found the cd of Glass House by Billy Joel. A classic cd for any music fan.Remember theres always something for the whole family, so take the kids & enjoy having fun, in finding a classic book or music cd.I know I always do.

Okay at best. People arent really looking to help you that much. You have to go up to him and ask. I needed a book that was being used in our local school and they were out. I had a few textbooks that I needed to sell. This area is well labeled, so you see it as soon as you walk through the front door. I gave them my books that I wanted to sell and they told me that they would call me once they are complete. I took a walk around the store and browsed the different sections of the store. There is a broad selection of topics to browse. I found a section that caught my attention. I spent my time there until they were ready for me. They called me over the speaker when they finished. They purchased all of my books. I normally sell my books back to the campus bookstore, but they dont always buy them back. They referred me to 1/2 price books. I also use to sell my books online, but the entire process is lengthy when compared to taking them to 1/2 price books and getting money on the spot. I can make more online, but it really doesnt bother me. I just want the books out of the house as they serve as a reminder of the hard work that I just endured. If you want immediate cash, 1/2 price books is the answer.
