Update: I decided to look for a replacement set. I found one on LetGo app in Baton Rouge and bought that one. As I was going through stuff, I found the 6 month used system that went with my husbands old 710XL Sata drive system. The first was a lemon, Gateway reworked it and shipped back while we were evacuated for hurricane Rita. Gateway sent a new system to replace the missing.Sorry I don’t have more to report on the actual company and dealings with them. I’m leaving this up because it has done technical info on it that is searchable on Google.Older post starts here: Erich is willing to take a look at my old Boston BA 7900 Sound Control Panel which is not functioning properly.*Bought a backup used, did not repair nor did I go to their shop.I will update this as soon as I meet him and I hope he is able to fix this. Everything else works great with my old 2001 Subwoofer, 5 speaker with Control Panel setup. I bought this in 2001 with a newly released Gateway XL700 system. The computer was wonderful, lasted about 8 years. And this sound system is still functioning, just getting a lot of noise from the controls.Hopefully its just minor issues that I am cannot fix. Ive tried cleaning the potentiometer a few times in the past, spraying DetoxIt D5 and it quietened it down for a while. Now the noise is massive at times like a sonic boom. I touched my blue cable by accident and the noise was really loud. I think I found the 2 culprits.I will attach a pic or two so yall can see what I am referring to.Ill let the experts see if they cant keep me going for another 18 years. :) I love my old Boston Speaker system, there is nothing like it. I bought a Bose Companion 5.1 the other day, but its going back to the store. You cannot compare a USB plug sound system with 2 Bose speakers to this Boston BA7900 which actually runs off of a sound card. Its like night and day.

Needed RCA jack replaced. They took my $45 to look at it. Knowing they were not smart enough to do the simplest thing. Save your money GO ANYWHERE ELSE
