I purchased glasses from the Sulphur Walmart Sulphur - N Cities Service Hwy back in May. I received my glasses a few weeks later. In June my granddaughter accidentally knocked my glasses off and they were ultimately scratched. I went out of town and was unable to get to the vision center until July 11th to make an insurance claim requesting new lenses. It’s almost THREE MONTHS later and I still haven’t received them. I call every month. Every month is a new excuse. I won’t be getting my next appointment at Walmart.
My husband saw his eye doctor (a specialist due to his cornea transplant) and there was a need to change one of the lens in his glasses. We bought the glasses from Walmart in Sulphur (and they have been the best glasses he has had in many years) so he called to see if he could bring the prescription in and order the one lens. He was told yes, no appointment needed, just walk in. We went. There was a line outside the optic area. After about 15 minutes we were 1st in line and he explained why we were there. We were told to leave and come back in 30 minutes as it would take that long before they could get to him. I asked how they would know we had been there already, she said she would remember us. We roamed around the store for 15 minutes and returned to the optic area. Only one other couple was there waiting. We waited. A lady came and took his prescription and put it on another lady’s desk. It stayed there a while and then that lady took it and put it on someone else’s desk. 30 minutes later we still had not been waited on. Someone else came the lady asked her if she could help her. We noted that we had been waiting 50 minutes by this point. We are told that was because we didn’t have an appointment. We noted that we had called for one and were told we didn’t need one. She clarified that was because we weren’t seeing the doctor and the people who see the doctor get to order their glasses before the walk-ins. Once my husband was taken in, he was very impressed with Tiffany who assisted him. I think their system is very flawed. We are both over 65. I really think there is a better way for them to do business.
Waited in line to get glasses, had prescription already. Was told that I could not be helped today because they were too busy to verify my insurance. I asked if I needed an appointment and she said no. Today is Friday and she said come back Monday and MAYBE you can be seen then. Disappointing.
I have been a patient/customer of Dr. Fontenot for several years. He is always professional, kind, and thorough. All of the glasses I have ordered through Walmart Vision & Glasses have been of good quality. The associates are friendly, professional, and willing to help you to the best of their ability.
I have several issues with my vision and Dr. Fontenot has been great. He takes his time to patiently explain what is going on with my eyes, and he is always very kind and professional.
Absolutely love Dr. Fontenot & the staff there! Thrilled he’s back!! He’s very friendly & will explain everything if you have any questions. Dr. Fontenot & the staff go above & beyond to help you with any vision issues. There’s a reason they’re so busy (going by some reviews) so just be patience! Everyone loves the Doc & staff so they’re packed now but totally worth it 😁
I tried to get the same safety glasses I get every year and this boy said his boss said he can’t sell those anymore I said why do you have several pair here for sale and he didn’t answer he said the other ones have a better nose price I said I don’t want those I want the same ones I have that I damaged ? He said do you want your prescription so you can go somewhere else? So now I have broken safety glasses and can buy new ones and have to go somewhere else unprofessional!!
Absolutely love Dr. Fontenot, very professional, best optician I have been to by far. The staff there is very friendly as well.
