We absolutely love RUSTIC MUFFIN! My oldest kid is obsessed with the food. Well we all are honestly! We have gone there different times of the day and have had fantastic service! We love the family atmosphere and the personal hellos and conversations from the owners. I see the hard work and dedication they do, not only with their business but helping with the community events! Thanks Grant & Jennifer for your mom and pop shop!
I ordered their traditional cheesecake with homemade strawberry topping for a work party. It was a huge hit and several colleagues asked for the name of the bakery.I also love their bagels and muffins. They are doing great in spite of worker shortages
The best! I love their muffins, try ANY flavor they have and you wont be disappointed. Love the owner, Jen, and her husband. Could not recommend them enough - stop by if you live in Cane Bay or even passing by on 26 or State Road!
We love this place. This is our go-to place when I’m busy at work but need breakfast. My husband will order a bacon or ham and egg cheese everything bagel for me when I’m swamped. We also love their jumbo muffins! They deliver too to our neighborhood which is fantastic. The owners are super friendly as is the staff. Oh and I LOVE their s’mores cookies! I also love that they try and introduce new things all the time. I’m glad to have this shop close by!
Great Bagels, reminds me of home. Best in town.
Love Rustic Muffin! Ive been in with groups of 4 to 6 as well as with my family of 3. The staff is always friendly and accommodating including the day I was joining some friends for coffee with my infant in tow. The staff brought me a dish with hot water to heat my babys bottle. Above and beyond service! I love their coffee. Unique flavors and the staff is always ready to make a recommendation if you arent sure what to try. I also love their breakfast sandwiches. The drive thru is quick and friendly despite a packed house on a busy weekend morning
I’ve had nothing but absolutely amazing service every time I’ve been here! The biscuits and gravy are absolutely delicious. I’ve often craved them throughout my pregnancy! The staff are always extremely welcoming. We ordered cake pops for my baby shower and they were perfect!
The place is clean, the waiting wasnt bad at all. The staff was very friendly.I recommend this place, the food is delicious and the coffee too.
I absolutely love this place!! So much so that I drive almost 30 minutes from my house to order their bagels. Lol. Im originally from NJ where Ive had some of the best bagels (and pizza). I had such a hard time finding good quality bagels until I found Rustic Muffin. BEST AROUND by far!
Been here at least 7 times now and Im always happy with the service and the goods. They do run out of items but they are a small business and with baked goods, anything leftover at 2pm is a loss, so I understand why its better for them to run out than to run out of time to sell it. They employee many young people in our community and give them a good start in the working world. (also their ice cream is delicious!)
Lots of gluten free bagels 🤤 If you want gluten free muffins you will need to call ahead. Great customer service too!
The only reason Im giving a 2 star is because the food is great. My issue is they never have the food I want. Three times in a row I have ordered and them not have at least 1 item I am wanting and this is between 830 am and 10 am. They run specials and have no French toast bagel to do their own special, out of biscuits, basically bagels and muffins are continually out. I will not spend another of my dollars at this place but I have a feeling they wont be here to much longer anyway at least with the current ownership.
This place is amazing! The bagels are just like home in NY and the muffins are one of kind delicious! Love the vibe and family owned small business employing the young in the community. ❤️
Best breakfast place ever! Its in my way to work and I love it. Ive had the chorizo burrito, the hazelnut frappe and bagels. Everything there is just amazing. Definitely the best bagels Ive had . They are fresh. The staff is super sweet and fast. I love that they have drive thru.
The bagels are SO reminiscent of home (New England) they are delicious! The muffins are amazing too, and youve got to try those famous cinnamon buns! Service always excellent and youre always treated as a valued guest.
Worst bagel ever. My husband bought me bagel to go. I wanted veggie cream cheese and bagel toasted nice and brown. I got bagel it was not toasted nice and brown and couldn’t even taste veggie cream cheese. Cream cheese was put on like butter. So thin. Very disappointed
The SoHo sandwich and the Hungryman are the two best sandwiches in Summerville hands down. Be careful. Rustic Muffin is addictive!
I really enjoyed my experience here! The atmosphere was rustic like the name. The menu was more extensive than I thought it would be. I got a Raspberry chocolate frappe and would say its much better than Starbucks frappe.
The food here is AMAZING! I had a cinnamon raisin bagel and it was the best bagel I ever had. It was very fresh and crunchy and flavorful. My fiancé got a bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese and he said it was the best thing too. We both shared a corn muffin and it was so delicate and moist. The owners were amazing and very friendly. I wished we lived in the area because I would come everyday.
Highly recommend! Amazing coffee shop to eat at with my family. The coffee and bagels are unmatched anywhere around. Its our go to breakfast place Saturday and or Sunday mornings! Very friendly staff as well
Staff was very courteous and friendly but the cold brew was extremely bitter and undrinkable. I added as much sugar and creamer as they would give me and it was still bad. When I asked to refund it, I was told that is how they make the coffee.
Great atmosphere but like someone else mentioned they tend to run out of items. I drove 30 minutes one way for “cinnamon roll Sunday” to be told “we sold out early” and the rest of the selection was very limited. Telling a lot of customers you don’t want their money by always running out of product.
The bagels and muffins are good. The service is terrible. They have 6-7 kids working today and they answer the phone to take our order but put us on hold and never come back to take the order. So I drive the 25 minutes there to place the order. When I got there, no line. The phone rings after I have been at the counter waiting to order for 90 seconds and one of the kids answers and starts taking the order. What!? Finally a kid comes over and asks how my day is. I tell him the phone story and he says they were busy blah blah blah...and short staffed. Short staffed? Lol. Ive been here when grown ups were working and they have way more people in line and were able to get the food out without making a bunch of excuses. I said so are you going to make me wait forever to take my order like you did when we called? And one of the kids says yep, pretty much. Now thats service. Whoever runs this place may want to have an adult present instead of leaving their business to a bunch of kids who dont know anything about customer service.
Wonderful place. Love grabbing. Bagel at the drive through or stop in for a toasty sandwhichHoney walnut cream cheese is my fav!!
Food was ok but coming from New Jersey, these were not “NY bagels”. The bacon seemed like it had been microwaved. The coffee tasted burnt and my husbands asiago bagel was burnt on top without much flavor. Service was very slow. I understand food shortages because of covid and all but $35 for two coffees and two bagel sandwiches is excessive. I never paid that much for a real NY bagel sandwich. Not worth the price, unfortunately.
Great food and service! I love everything… cannot make a bad choice. Ten stars for me!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Every day, fresh baked goods! The service here has always been welcoming and accommodating. If you are a regular, they know you and talk to you. Even if youre not a regular, theyll still talk to you! My go-to order is s/e/c on an everything bagel and a muffin. The peach cobbler muffin is delicious, but I also want to try out the dozen other flavors they have!
Our family loves it here! They are kind, polite, offer a lot and gave GREAT muffins.
Great food. Service is nice but SUPER SLOW and by 8:30 am they’re all out of most popular items
Had their sandwich I think it was called the Manhatten. One of the best bagel sandwiches I have ever had.
I had an everything bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers and onions...It was fantastic!!
There were 6 people working and no customers in the restaurant and they still got my order wrong. No one apologized or seemed to care lmao
Great little shop! Went to the shopping center for another reason and decided to stop in since I had heard great things about it. I love blueberry muffins but none were available. This was around noon so maybe once an item sells out there isnt any more made. I tried a cinnamon roll ( I believe that was the name) with pecans and a muffin with carrots and raisins. Both were great. I will try to go earlier next time to see more variety of items.
The Rustic Muffin is the newest gem located just a short distance from Cane Bay. The neighborhood Facebook page has been raving about how incredible the bagels and coffee are so I made this a must try. I came in around 10:45 and the parking lot was packed. Not a spot to be had. However, people were walking out as fast as they were walking in, so I managed to grab a spot and head in. The atmosphere has quite the charm and I could feel so much positive energy. There were three young ladies staffing the counter and constantly smiling and moving with a purpose. They provided excellent customer service and did so with efficiency.I just finished my Jalapeno Bagel with Jalapeno cream cheese and Ill have to say it was probably the best bagel Ive ever eaten. The bagel was lightly toasted and had a perfect amount of cream cheese applied. The Cane Bay Bold coffee is equally as amazing. I drink it black of course, and this is just the right amount of smooth and bold to be perfect for any time of day. Im always hesitant when I hear so many great reviews because it puts it on a pedestal, but fortunately, The Rustic Muffin delivered. Ill be back this weekend to try a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. Thank you and welcome to the Bay.
Stopped in to pick up a quick client gift of fresh muffins. They had a fun variety to choose from and I loved the peach cobbler with real peach inside! Really quick and unique! Thank you!
Our family really loves it here!Gotta try the jalapeno bagels and iced coffee .My High school son just sent me this text message a few days ago. **** mom? bring me a da Bronx from rustic muffin and give me $10 at the game instead of $20 to cover my da Bronx ****This happens at least 2xs a week. I cant blame him, because they are the BEST!
The food is fine. The problem with this place is how the manager treats people, and in turn the staff treat customers badly too. I have had multiple bad experiences here with service. I’ll be taking my dollars elsewhere.
So far, the best muffins around. The croissant was also very good. The staff is really nice there.
One of my favorite breakfast places.
Always a great selection of bagels and muffins and fantastic coffee!
As long as you get in there early and they still have items on the shelves you will love anything you try!
Absolutely love this place . We are here all the time .
All I can say is wow! Its only the second time weve went there and I had to make the time to review how amazing this place is. Service is attentive and kind. My husband went crazy over the breakfast burrito. This will definitely be our new coffee place over starbucks anyday! :)
First timer here and with all the good reviews i decided to try this place. Do not order the egg sandwich here . I ordered 3 S.E.C sandwiches over the phone. When I got there the lady told me whoever helped me over the phone got the order wrong. I let them know its fine and I waited for them to make it . I paid in advance and what a mistake ! I was shocked on how they make breakfast sandwiches. They microwaved the egg and sausage. I thought to myself if I wanted a microwaved egg sandwich I could of just went to McDonalds and gotten a egg Mcmuffin. Very disappointed and I decided to pass on the I want a refund and take my loss. Maybe they are great for bagels and muffins but not the breakfast sandwiches.
I would not recommend anyone working here. I have never bashed a small business before. The owners seem kind at first, but treat their employees horribly. You are trained by a brand new employee who does not know how to do anything either. The female owner, Jen, will tell you to make a coffee a certain way (Which is fine). BUT, then she will proceed to yell at you in front of customers for doing it wrong (even though you are doing it the way she just told you). I consoled multiple 16/17 year olds who were crying after their shift due to Jen. They post on Facebook weekly looking for new workers because everyone quits. Yet, they will never look into the reason why everyone is upset and quitting, especially for a $9 an hour job. I really tried my best to like working here, but Ive never had such an unkind boss. I have worked in toxic management before, but I promise you this place is not worth it. I found another side job with respectable management while I am in school.
I have not had one thing from rustic muffin I didn’t enjoy. I recommend the soho bagelwich. But those muffins are top tier. I ventured away from my usual today and got the peach cobbler muffin. Easily the best muffin I have every had. Came for the bagelwichs staying for the muffins.
Tried it for the first time and definitely cannot give 5 stars. The muffins were excellent. However, the coffee is weak and is served lukewarm. The website says neighborhood coffee shop, but it should say neighborhood bakery. The service was so-so. Not much in the way of friendliness or southern charm. And please dont ask the customer if they want to leave a tip, even if they are using a credit card. That is tacky. Have a tip jar on the counter, where we can put money in if we desire. I will go back to try the bagels, since they looked good and update my review.Went back this weekend and tried the Cane Bay Cobra. Really good! We also had a plain bagel and an egg sandwich. We used the drive thru, which was very efficient. The bagels are just the way I like them. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious. Updated my rating to 4 stars. I would give 5 stars if the coffee situation improved a bit.
Came by this morning and picked up 10 muffins of various flavors for my workmates. Everyone thought that the muffins were the best they have ever had. I think youve got several future customers.
That is the second and last time I waste my money here. I got a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and a soda that cost $8+. The biscuit literally had one piece of the worlds thinnest bacon
The sandwiches and muffins here are so good! My hubby loves the whoopie pies too! They now have a dinner and a new outdoor seating area. A great local spot for some good food!
I went there is morning and my hash brown felt like it was sitting on ice
Awesome food! Owner was super nice and friendly as well as staff. She also took time out of her schedule to discuss the community with me. Look forward to having lunch there regularly!
A very thoughtful patient brought us a huge box of assorted muffins. The pistachio is my favorite! These are huge muffins, big enough to share, but you won’t want to haha! They are delicious and moist! Will definitely have to check this place out in person.
Came here for lunch with my wife and daughter. Heard amazing things about this place. Placed our order and specifically asked for no tomatoes on the salad or my sandwich. After 25 mins of sitting outside waiting we finally got our food. It took 25 mins to make one sandwich and 2 salads..... and they put tomatoes on everything. Normally this wouldnt bother me but, I had roughly 10 mins to eat to get back to work on time, and had to pick though my salad for 6 mins to get all the tomatoes out. Mind you we were the only ones there..... this is just sad. Thanks for blowing my lunch date with my wife and daughter.
Great food and great service
Bagels were very good.
Good food, great people!
NY style bagels, fresh with crispy outside and soft inside... generous amounts of cream cheese, most excellent. I have also had the breakfast burrito, very good, potatoes, chorizo and eggs
The female owner and the employees are terrible. Their “training” isn’t good at all, they’ll teach you one way and then Jen (the female owner) will yell/complain in front of customers even though she and other employees taught you how to do it. The owners (Jen and Grant) will allow older employees to yell at new employees for anything in front of customers because the training is terrible and they didn’t know how to properly do the task. Jen also talks bad about her own employees to customers and obviously doesn’t care for anything but making money. The employees are just as rude and disrespectful and will talk about you to Jen and Grant(the owners) and cause you to be held back to tell you about your “bad work ethic”. There have been many times where I felt like working there would be worse than going to hell and never felt comfortable talking to the owners or the employees, only because I couldn’t trust them to continue the “friendly” behavior. Overall toxic environment to work at and would not recommend supporting their small business.
Love the atmosphere! The coffee and the crossiant sandwich was delicious!
Very friendly staff, great selection of food and drinks!
Delicious! My husband and I both got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel breakfast sandwiches. The bagel consistency is awesome! Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We also got iced lattes and some breakfast pastries to sample. So good! We will be back!
Great service and delicious food!
Very tiny/tight place but homey. Coffee is good and big sizes for the price. We also had their Tuscan pizza bagel. Yum 😋We got a huge muffin, bagel, and a large coffee for about $7. Not bad.Right now its super busy because they recently opened so theres a lot of people. There was a pair of woman taking up an entire corner booth table to themselves to run a business out of basically. I dont know if they own the place or not but still extremely rude to take up so much space for so long when theres so many people waiting to get food and would perhaps like to sit too.If youre going here when its busy please be considerate and dont sit around long after you finished eating.
Delicious food and nice folks!
Always a tasty treat! Delicious is an understatement. Staff are wonderful and helpful as well!!
Being from Long Island I am always looking for a good breakfast spot with quality bagels and my husband stumbled upon them. You will not regret grabbing breakfast here. You have a life long customer here!
We went here to try the gluten free options and there were about 7 employees that I could see that were not friendly at all, and said that they couldn’t make the cauliflower pizza because it was “the weekend”. When really I think they were just lazy and didn’t want to make a pizza even though they had the staff to do it. And not to mention, the food wasn’t great either, I got a latte and it was overly sweet. We talked to the owner and he wasn’t apologetic at all about not cooking pizzas because it’s “the weekend” and didn’t think there was a problem with the way the staff handled things. Won’t be going here again, horrible first impression.
Nicest staff. Owner is super friendly and always asks how you are doing. Also, food is great. Go there for breakfast pretty often.
Cant get enough of their Pistachio muffins and bagel sandwiches. Real standout is the light pumpernickel bagel with sausage, egg and cheese.I hear they are either from NY or have the water imported. I know its not just the water that makes a good bagel but also the skill and the baking. These folks seem to have all of that and they are in SC.Pretty much the only place to get a good NY style bagel in the lowcountry.
I love this cute bagel shop. The food is priced well, cheap even, and the quality is top notch. The staff is always very friendly and fast even though they are fairly busy. The coffee is definitely worth a try too!
Cane Bay Cobra French Toast Bagel, was all that and more, well definitely be back.
Used drive thru. Very friendly Muffin was great..
I stopped in this morning and it looks great inside the cafe. But most importantly... THOSE MUFFINS! We got a French toast and a cappuccino chocolate chunk and they were both heavenly! Its not a cheap place but its well worth the price. The muffins were big, had that crunchy top part I like and were moist in the middle. Absolutely will return!
Loved thw gluten free bagel!
They are very friendly and the place is beautiful. I tried their caramel latte and some pastries. I loved the latte, but the pastries for my taste need a little more sweetness to it. I also had a bite of their bagel with cream cheese Apple cinnamon and it was so good. Im trying their muffins next since those go quickly so Im assuming are great. Overall I really like it and will continue new things from here. Great place to hangout for friends in the mornings.
Never a bad experience here. Theyre always friendly and even know our drink orders by heart. Thankful to have a family owned and ran coffee shop that I can support thats right down the road.
So nice and very unique flavors and terrific Service! Friendly, informative about flavors of bagels, muffins, English muffins, and cream cheese with their homemade flavor spreads! Such Yummy & Great Food! Be back soon early for fresh breakfast.
Normally an amazing place, best bagels hands down super nice people. But very bad at updating hours. Online hours say 2pm close and they actually close at 12. Plus they turn the toasters for the bagels off a half an hour early. I drive a long time to get here and theyre closed.
These muffins are what dreams are made of. Nice crunchy outside amazingly moist inside and so flavorful! Fresh bagels and delicious strong coffee make this a one stop shop
You have to try! Well everything!!
Theyre the only place to get onion bagels they are very close to new York
Nice little place. Very nice owners. Authentic NYC water bagels. Had then Pumpernickel today and it was amazing! Top notch in my book and Im from NYC. The Italian Ices are authentic as they are brought in directly from New York. Many flavors to choose from. Had the chocolate and mango today. Perfection.
Absolutely delicious! The bagels are on point. Great prices and a super friendly staff. Their menu is starting to grow and their offerings are all delicious. Great coffee too! Please support myself local business like this one!
This place does not care for their employees, they like to talk about their employees on social media instead of just handling the issue. It seems they care more about making money then caring for their employees.
The pizza bagel with jalapeño cream cheese ... changed my life! Best bagel I’ve ever had!
Great coffee but my blueberry muffin was a tad dry and had only two blueberries in it. I just felt like and it tasted like I was eating yellow cake. Great atmosphere though. Cute local shop
The muffins, bagels, and drink were all great! Well be back soon.
Consistent Quality, Best Legit Bagels in the area. Id stop by every morning if I could!
Great bagels, the staff are absolutely fantastic. All muffins, cakes, bagels, cheesecakes are Amazing
Always wonderful customer service, but you gotta make sure to come early to get what you want. The good stuff goes pretty quickly!
Excellent local food. Love the bagels!
Came here with a friend for the first time and loved it. Friendly staff and they made sure my drink was how I liked it before sitting down. Food was yummy.
Fantastic bagels, good coffee, outstanding service, and incredible staff. I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants NY style bagels
