Horribly unethical place! They don’t care about patients and their well-being. Their only goal is to charge your insurance and balance bill you for the services you have never consented to. The receptionist lady is super unprofessional and rude. As a resident of Summit, I have never experienced such a low level of customer service and lack of respect for customers. Please take your business elsewhere and save yourself the aggravation. I am still upset about the fact that they made me pay $275 for the exam that was supposedly not covered by my insurance plan after the eye exam had been already performed on me. She had a clear understanding that this benefit was not covered by my plan as she had printed out my coverage information prior to the exam but never mentioned that I would be responsible for the $275 copay. She mentioned another tiny copay to me ($30) prior to the exam but then balance billed me after I had my eyes checked. I had to spend 40 mins on the phone with my insurance company to get to the bottom of this and as a result I was late for my next appointment. Words cannot describe how upset I am, I really feel like she knew what she was doing and her objective was to take advantage of me.
Finally I was fitted with the right lenses and prescription! The Dr spent so much time with me and very professional. The office staff is so pleasant and following all the cdc guidelines . As a nurse I really appreciated the professionalism and excellent care
Dr. Seiler and his staff are always very warm and personable. This is a small, hometown office where you dont feel like a number and you never feel rushed. Dr. Seiler takes his time and gives a very thorough examination. Would highly recommend!
The whole team of the summit eye and optical is unprofessional and not kind to patients. I believe it just wants to make money and doesnt care patients. I WONT recommend it to anyone.
I had a great experience with my daughter. There was no pressure and they said she was doing well enough without them. When she wanted them, they were respectful of cost and insurance considerations.I appreciated the experience that now that I need glasses, I went back here for me.Strong recommend.
Dr. Seiler is unprofessional & unkind. My experience at Summit Eye & Optical was the most bizarre I have ever had with a medical professional. He was condescending, threatning, & non explanatory! I went for a contact lens exam & left with him refusing to give me my prescription for lenses. He claimed I needed a “treatment plan” which he said I could pay him out of pocket for, as they do not take my medical insurance. I had requested I’d like a second opinion before deciding to use his services as it was my first time seeing him. His tone was aggravated & all over the place while trying to make his point to me. Bringing up personal information about himself that was unneeded to be shared. While leaving he requested the front desk charge me a fee of 125$ for his 10 minute exam, even after refusing to give me my prescription. He made me feel very nervous & I just wanted out of there!! I am in the process of filing a complaint to the Medical board of New Jersey. Truly a terrible & uncomfortable experience there! Wouldn’t recommend him or Summit Eye & Optical to anyone!

Excellent experience. Dr. Seiler is a trustworthy optometrist; his knowledge and personality have earned our loyalty for the past decade. He conducts thorough eye exams and explains with great patience. His high-end equipment earns him an extra star in this review. Dr. Seiler stocks some stylish frames; his sophisticated suggestions draws me and my family to his store year after year. His staff is knowledgeable and courteous. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a terrific doctor.
I bought a new pair of glasses last year, nice titanium frames, progressive lenses, and that in itself was a very pleasant experience, especially with Doctor Seiler, very professional, funny and welcoming,and a great guitar player.But when I acccidentally broke the frame at home, I was pretty upset. Well, we went back to the store and they fixed them for free, in less than an hour. No questions asked. Great service thanks ! You made my day!
Dr. Seiler is exceptional: unfailingly patient, friendly and humorous, he does a tremendously thorough job of examining the changes in our familys vision using state-of-the-art equipment. He inspires confidence and exudes knowledge. My wife, daughter and I have been Dr. Seilers patients for over fifteen year and hope to continue being in his care for the foreseeable future.
