Awesome deals no pressure sales great vehicles would buy another vehicle from them. ON THE FLIP SIDE, the promised me a full vehicle detailing that never happened, accused me of burning up the brakes only after owning the vehicle 3 to 4 weeks, I believe the brake tech over looked the burned up brakes. I tried to express my thoughts and concerns for having to pay a portion of the cost to the GM only to get no reply after calling him 4 times and when I did he promised to investigate and get back to me. It has now been 3 weeks since we talked. Now I am waiting to see the cost for the service LOF on my vehicle to see if they try to charge me for filters after only 5000 miles. Buyer beware be thorough before accepting your certified vehicle for them.
Very unprofessional, and will ditch you as soon as you sign paperwork. No communication between staff, and that leaves the customer in limbo. Have been loyal GM customer for over 25 years. Will never step foot in a Sunset dealership (all brands) again. Will recommend my friends and acquaintances to NOT shop there. Horrible experience. ** Follow-up - Went to another brand dealership, and was treated like gold. Got a loaded full size truck (2021) for about the same price I was going to have to pay for a 2020 Colorado. Not even in the same category. I want to reiterate, I will NEVER set foot on a Sunset sales floor again.

Stay away!!! I have purchased hundreds of cars over the past 35 years both in person and via the web and this is by far the worst experience ever. I made an offer on one 2016 4wd Chevy Silverado and they declined my offer, that was ok with me I wasnt desperate to get a new truck right away... but then sales person John Petersen offered me another truck they had on the lot in my offer range. We agreed on a 2016 4wd 4 door Silverado for over $33,200 they did not disclose any damage, in fact I was told it was in excellent condition with no dents, no scratches, no flaws... I said twice Are you sure? I want no surprises when it arrives... John said no surprises, correct. So he sent a poor quality cell phone video and the photos on the website are enhanced so you cant see the true image. A couple weeks later when the truck arrived in California via a trailer transport I immediately noticed some scuffs and twigs and grass stuck in the front bumper, so I took it to our local chevy dealer for inspection they found a lot more damage than I did. Both they and 2 other autobody shops estimate over $3600 to properly repair it. I contacted Sunset Trucks right away, the GM, Mr. Buzz Nielsen told me I was too picky! Really?! $3600 in damage is too picky??? He said they can only go by CarFax and no report was listed. I say they are a professional Chevy Dealer and there website says every car gets a thorough 160 point inspection... I guess they missed about $3600 of issues with this truck. When the truck arrived it also had over 258 miles more than the documents stated which is bad business and illegal! My bad was not having a thorough 3rd party inspection first, I didnt think I needed to do that with an actual reputable Chevy dealer. I was wrong. One more thing, I found out later they did not disclose that they acquired the truck through a broker auction in Canada then it was at some point imported to the U.S. which can also create problems when registering or getting warranty work done in the US. So now hey wont pay for repairs and they wont take it back! If this was such a great deal and a great truck with less than 10 miles more than it arrived with why wouldnt they take it back...? Because they finally got rid of it! I would praise them if they gave me the deal they promised and be a repeat customer but the failed miserably. All of the above is absolutely true, I have photos and repair estimates to prove it. Final word on Sunset Trucks = STAY AWAY, they lie and they dont care once they have your money! - Kent M. Collins
I bought a 55k dollar Certified Pre-owned Raptor from these guys this summer in August. It only had 50k miles on it, and after questioning them about the vehicle history and present condition of the vehicle, they had me convinced there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, they told me when the previous owner had traded it in, they didnt have to fix a single thing on it because he had taken such good care of it. The day I drove it home, I noticed some mold on the floor in front of the passenger seat. I thought maybe someone had spilled some food or drink on it and went ahead and cleaned it up without thinking anything of it.About 2 1/2 months later, November came around and my truck was parked out in the open during a heavy rain. When I opened the door I found water dripping from the passenger side of the sunroof and dripping out of the window column like a faucet. The whole passenger-side front quarter of the vehicle was soaked from roof to carpet.I called Sunset and reported this to them. I asked if they could pay for service and any damage that this leaking had caused. I told them I found mold on the floor when I first bought it, and I am sure this was a problem that was overlooked by their inspectors.They told me that I would have to pay for it because I didnt report it soon enough. I told them it was the summer time when I bought it, and that there was no significant amount of rain to cause this until now. I said that there was no way I could have known. They said I still had to pay for it myself.Now I am awaiting an appointment with a Ford dealership to inspect and fix my sunroof, and possibly the interior.For a 55 thousand dollar certified Pre-Owned vehicle you would think that they would have checked the sunroof for leaks...I have a lot of anxiety about how much extra this is going to cost me in the end. I feel this is terrible customer service and this is possibly going to cost me a lot of money.Update: So far, I have spent over a thousand dollars on repair costs and rental vehicles. I took it to Sunset Ford to fix, and they sealed the third brake light. Somehow their technician there missed the leak in the sunroof seal area and now I have to take it back there again...which is going to cost more money.

Went out on Memorial Day weekend to kick some tires and look over some options for a new vehicle for our large family of seven. We visited five other car lots before stoping by Sunset Trucks and we were greeted by Matt Becker and from the beginning he stood out from the previous salespeople we had talked with. He was very laid back but very attentive to our needs, he answered all of our questions. One thing we like most was he took the time to get to know us and our kids before advancing to through the sale. By the end of our visit on Friday our kids had reached their limit and the entire family was hungry, he let us leave without feeling pressured which was the main reason we returned the following day. We had a fun time negotiating and agreed on a final number. The important thing was we didnt make a purchase just based on price. Matts customer service was on point and he was a great person and the team at Sunset Trucks is very lucky to have him. Kenny and his staff diagnosed a misfire and knock sensor problem on our 2013 explorer and saved us quite a bit of money compared to what other shops thought the problem was. The final cost was a few hundred dollars under their own estimate, the vehicle runs like new and their service loaner was really nice. Can’t ask for much more than that!

EDIT:DO NOT buy the Gap Coverage they try to sell you. There are so many exclusions in the contract that they will only cover 10% of what they owe or deny your claim entirely.Next time Im going to a dealership that doesnt lie to me.Original:I recently bought a truck here and so far my experience has been exceptional. Chris Christophe was a good salesman to work with. I told him what I wanted, my price range, and my trade in value; he didnt try to oversell me or fast talk me into something I didnt want. While waiting for financing we even had a pleasant conversation. The finance guy (I cant remember his name) was great to work with and made the entire process very easy and fully explained everything in a way I could understand. Sadly, right after I left the lot late on a Saturday with my new truck, I found out that the tire pressure sensors in the wheels were not compatible with the truck (long story). I returned after a couple weeks to get my license plates and asked to speak with the manager. He came out quickly and though I was fully prepared to be a huge pain until the problem was resolved, none of that was necessary. He listened to me and immediately offered to get it looked at and fixed right away. I was greatly pleased that there was no argument or rudeness, just good customer service. The only negative in my experience was waiting 4 hours for a repair that should have taken 1, and I had to go to a tire shop the next day to fix the terrible balancing job. Final opinion, GREAT customer service, TERRIBLE mechanic (probably just the one guy though).
I went to Sunset and bought a Ford f150 it had low miles, drove great, had a fun but odd Test-drive with Chatty it was a good time, I actually took about 6 hrs of his time looking at vehicles test driving and finding something I could finance and a payment that would work for me. He was extremely patient and helpful throughout the entire process and with my indecisiveness of the vehicle I ultimately wanted. I felt a little pressured to buy optional warranties which I ended up doing because you never know with a used vehicle. After a couple days I noticed the brakes had problems no big deal just had to find the time to get the truck in they would fix it, after about 10 days it had developed or I tuned in on a few other noises and problems no biggie theyll fix it. I was driving home on Friday and I had an extreme loss of power and it shook for about 30 seconds and the check engine light flashed at me, the power came back the shake and noise went away and the check engine remained flashing for about 3 minutes. I called Brian at sunset and asked if I could just exchange the truck and to my surprise he said bring it in tomorrow well see what we can do, either put you in another vehicle or fix this one. When I pulled in at 10 am he came out to me and said Hi Aaron this is Doug, how about he takes you around and we find you another truck thatll make you happy to drive! Doug was an amazing salesman to work with and found some awesome vehicles for me to try out. I felt completely comfortable with him and no pressure whatsoever he was more like a friend helping me out. They took the Ford back as a trade in and got me into another truck. I couldnt be happier with the Service at Sunset, I am very happy I purchased my truck through them and I recommend to everyone that they go there. I plan on being a return customer.

While my husband and Stacy where test driving the truck I thought was the one . I found out was out of my price range, Justin came up and mentioned another truck ( even though it was not his deal ). Im only giving 2 stars because they had a great selection of vehicles otherwise theyd get 1. When we arrived there the stereotypical vulture came out and Im fine with it because I know its their job. But this guy never stopped talking and didnt give us any chance to look at a vehicle. We left the lot after less than 10 min without looking at one car. We went to 3 other lots where guys came out to introduce themselves and ask us the typical questions but then left us so we could look around. I wont be going back to this location because I dont want to feel pressured to buy a vehicle.
Make sure you look around, the Warranty for life sure raises the price. Looked at a 2012 F-250 diesel and it was 2k more then several 2017 F-250 diesels. I was told that the KBB value was accurate for the 2012. This isnt my first time buying trucks, I own a business and we have several trucks on the road. Im sure there warranty for life is a great deal but they sure charge for all of those repairs before hand. I made several calls and ended up just buying a new 2017 F-250 diesel from a different dealer and it was less. The new truck comes with a Ford warranty that didnt cost me an arm and leg.

The worst experience I have ever went through with buying a car. They are extremely rude! They do not return phone calls or voicemails. Trying to reach the finance department is a joke! Their mechanics are terrible. They give you this spill about how they do a thorough inspection and then your car breaks down the same day! The sellers are cocky and rude also. I would never buy there again or recommend them to anyone I know.

If i had to recommend this place i wouldnt i would say steer clear unless you like migraines then by all means go to this place. I purchased one of their pre-owned vehicle as a newer family vehicle it had minor issues that they said would clean and fix a few of the issues for instants the car wasnt vacuum/full detailed because they said they just got it in within 2 weeks which i figure no biggie but that was the only the tip of the iceberg what really got me upset was the fact that the front and rear airbag suspension was faulty meaning it was illegal to sale and the fact i drove off with the vehicle with my children in the car and finding out few days later when the check light came on. They did fix the issue as well as all other issues that they found in the car which made me not have the vehicle for half a month after purchase. they do have a system when they get new cars in to the dealership i dont know why they didnt take care of all these issues before hand. So If you do choose to purchase a vehicle from them just have a full inspection done and printed out to you to see if its worth the headache.
We purchased a truck from Sunset ford that they just got as a trade in and it had issues and they promised that everything will be fixed by the time the will give it to us, so we got the truck and guess what nothing was fixed, even the 3rd break light wasnt working, so we went camping as we believed everything was fixed, on the road check engine light came on and all other stuff that were supposed to be fixed were NOT fixed. We brought the truck back and the manager said dont worry guys write everything that is not working down we will fix it. The next day we got a call from manager named Jim, first of all he was very rude, not professional at all and doesnt know what customer service is. (Youll get much better customer service when you spend 100$ at a grocery store than spending tens of thousands dollars here in Sunset Ford).It appears to me that they dont care about you they just care about the money and since they already been paid by the bank they say screw you and your problems, we got your money ha ha.I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone buying anything from Sunset Group, they will lie to you and make you feel like you are a stupid person And as they say we care about clients so they can come back, no they dont if they did I wouldnt be putting this review here.This review will remain 1 star (I wish I could give them 0) until they make it right. Be the man of your word and fix this situation.

I bought my Evo from here in September 2015. My salesman Doug was helpful and easy to communicate with. They also gave me what wanted for my trade in. However when purchasing my car i asked if they had changed any fluids etc. And was told that they changed the oil and checked the fluids but they used correct fluid and parts. Changing my oil today i see an AC Delco filter which is not correct. Will be changing all the fluids in the car to prevent possible damage that could be caused by this dishonesty.

Let me tell you, pure financial magician. Great work by that man. If he says he can do it, it will get done. The service department is amazing. Had a minor issue I asked about, used vehicle so didnt expect much, but they were on it. They all bent over backwards to assure I was taken care of and my truck was good to go. Before buying the vehicle they were very responsive with the email but after the sale it’s hard to communicate with them. I bought a vehicle from John P with his manager pushing us. John P. Told us before we bought the vehicle that we can get service from any sunset dealership as long as we bought it at one of the sunset dealership, I asks that because I have bought a vehicle from auburn valley kia which became sunset kia so I wanted to get my vehicle service at sunset kia because it’s closer to me but when I get to service for oil the service department was trying to charge me for oil change which is supposed to be free since I have lifetime oil change so they take care of that but the manager told me that next time I have to bring my vehicle that I bought at sunset trucks to get service there and I told him that my dealers at sunset trucks told me that I can get service any sunset dealership and he replied they have lied to you. So double check guys before going to any sunset dealership and when they said “lifetime warranty” it’s not because it’s not covered everything it’s only “basic” so that they can sell you another warranty.

Worst experience ever!!!!! Horrible customer service. We worked with David and Matt the finance guy. We Waited 6 days to get answers about a vehicle we were interested in. They never called us we had to do ALL the calling!! And they knew we were in need for a car because we were in a car accident. They had another vehicle that we were interested in and they told us we were all good to go and all we had to do was sign papers. And right when we walked in the doors they told us it was sold 10 mins ago!! they sure dont know how to do there job and also Wouldnt you think they would call you and let you know as soon as they had gotten the answer? And to mention we drove all the way from Graham!! Working with them was stressful!!! They kept putting us on hold they said they were to busy to work on ours. So Finally we called them and told them were going somewhere else. We went to Carmax and got approved in 10 min and a way WAY less down payment and it was a 2017 Kia Sorrento with 11,000 miles with warranty!! Im So blessed !! it was meant to be !! Dont waist your time with sunset trucks there all about there money and not helping there customers out !!!! And they had text me saying The bank that approve us was in their favor. He blatantly scammed us. if you see this guy on the sales lot stay clear of him he will rob you. Worst company ever! I will be reporting him and the company to local law enforcement as well.
