Purchased a used outboard from Mac Sport & Marine August 2021. The process was smooth, professional, and easy. Stopped in on a Monday to look at the motor. Negotiation was smooth and unpressured. Left our boat with them that afternoon, and they called Wednesday saying the motor was installed and everything was ready to go. I went in to buy a circuit breaker for a boat I am restoring and walked out with an excellent condition kicker motor, tank, fuel line and primer bulb. Could not be happier. Many of the local shops for marine parts and service have closed so it is nice to have a quality dealership remain in the area. Only issue I had was when I dropped off my boat to have a new water pump, impeller and pressure test done on the lower unit, the drain plug was left in and with a heavy rain the new floor ( marine plywood ) and carpeting had about a foot of water inside, my fault for leaving the plug in but it would have been nice if someone there had double checked but, as I say, my fault. Otherwise exceptional service. Will continue to deal there.

Stopped in here while I was shopping around for boat motors and i met a really nice salesman and learned a lot about the store as well as finding out that they purchased another store or South of where Im located. Salesman was really nice and friendly and helpful also helped me understand about purchasing new wheelers and boat motors.

Working with Tyler has been wonderful! From purchasing a year ago to replacing our Bennington pontoon this year! Tyler has been more than accommodating on in all our changes/updates to picking up the pontoon on a Saturday. It has bee great working with him and we will return!

This was my 2nd or third time there and I just am not impressed. Took my pontoon there for a tuneup. Promised it would be done in a week, it took three. Finally get it home, and there were numerous problems with it. Two times, Ive been there for parts and for starters its like you are inconveniencing them when you walk in the door. I need this part, we dont have it. This is where I got it before, here is the part number. Oh, heres one just like it. I get it home and it is the wrong part, even after giving the part number. I think I will drive a few extra miles into Duluth from now on! Just saying.

We bought a pontoon from MAC this summer, the whole process was great. They even made sure we had our boat by July 4th which didn’t leave them much time. Tyler is very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions I still have, John is always friendly and willing to answer any questions I might have also. I dropped my boat off over a month ago and I finally just picked it up because it’s still NOT FIXED. I have been told so many stories as to why..1. Part was ordered boat will be fixed in 2 weeks and the part is in stock despite Covid delays.2. The person who ordered the part has been fired! No worries ma’am we will now be able to take better care of you! New manager Ryan says to call him and he is now the man for this job.3. Someone calls me over 6 weeks later to tell me.. “Bill” ordered the wrong part even though they checked on that a month ago. We need to order the correct one but it is no longer available due to covid.I go to pick up the boat today and no one, no one is watching the boats left outside at all. I hook up my boat and can’t find the keys so I go in and politely ask if I can get the keys to my boat. Thinking any normal business would have them protected and cared for. NOPE they said they store them all in the boats for anyone to drive up and take. Eventually i found the Keys laying on the floor.There absolutely can’t possibly be a worse business in all of the twin ports!!Heading to minong an hour and half away to see if I have better luck at link bro. Will update-UPDATE! I took my boat to link recreation in minong and they fixed my boat for under two hundred bucks and less then 24 hours. A positive wire was hooked up to a negative wire under the dash board. Simple fix! Max sport and marine quoted me over $800 dollars! And said i needed a whole new electrical holster.

Went here with my son who was looking at buying a pontoon boat. The sales person was very courteous and helpful and answered all of my sons questions to the best of his knowledge.

Great service testing my outboard and due to it being old and not working, ordering a new one. Service was very good in spite of the Covid-19 slow down of everything.

When I started searching for a replacement motor I knew I wanted a Yamaha. I contacted many different dealers to get pricing and “ feel” them out. I emailed Tyler and explained what I was looking for. Tyler was prompt at responding And answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly. He ordered my motor as they didn’t have it in stock. Not once did he try to push a in stock unit. Tyler also arranged to have the motor sent closer to the Twin Cities. Mac sports will be my first choice for my next re-power or next boat.

Ive bought a new boat from them a few years ago when RJs ran me out of there store.{Best thing that ever happend to me} There staff is great, Tyler is great, John is always nice to deal with. There service department is the best around!!!! Ive had some problems with my boat but they have taken care of everything even when it has been my fault. Ron in service has been great at keeping me informed on whats going on with my boat. All the guys in back my hat off to you your work is great. Worst customer service they lost techs due to not taking care of there employs and wont return phone calls until the customer calls back and complains. Its not my fault that they dont care about customers or there employs.

I bought an aluminum row boat from them 20 years ago. I am back in town and need another lightweight jon boat that I can carry on my pickup ladder rack. They dont carry anything like that anymore and didnt express any interest in ordering anything for me.

Bought a new Suzuki KingQuad ATV in late winter/early spring, and first of all I couldn’t be more pleased with the machine itself. It is the smoothest riding 4-wheeler I have ever been on, without compromising power whatsoever. Secondly, buying from Mac Sport was a real pleasure. After finally deciding I was going with the Suzuki, I just had to get the wife’s final seal of approval. We visited 4 or 5 other dealers, and after walking out of Mac’s, she instantly said, “we are buying from Dale” (the salesman I was working with at Mac’s). They are knowledgeable and passionate about the products they carry, and are always friendly and readily available to answer questions or discuss your needs, without being overbearing or pushy. They will be the first place I check in with for any future “toy” purchases.

Very nice people. Unfortunately, I dropped my boat off there to be fixed because they had promised they could get to it quickly. They didn’t even look at it until 4 days later even though I called daily to check in. Once they figured out what was wrong, they missed the deadline to overnight the part. Now, I’m missing my vacation because my boat isn’t done. If I’d known it would take this long I would’ve gone someplace else. I’m very disappointed.

I have been to MAC several times in the past two years. My last experience was repairing my boat trailer wiring. I called to see if they did rewiring and I was happy that they did, and more so when they said to bring it in the next day. And I was amazed when they called to,have me pick it up the day after that. They charged me for two hours labor plus the kit which was a great deal based on other calls I had made. My experience with their main competitor in Duluth would,have been a two week wait and much greater cost. They have also gone out of their way to find me a fuel filter several months ago that the other dealer had on order for two weeks, and it still had not come in. MAC pulled the last one from their service shop to sell to me. Always seem very appreciative for the business, helpful and competent. I highly recommend them for service and parts.Mick L.Duluth mn

My wife and I visited 9 dealerships and considered 12 pontoon packages before purchasing a Bennington/Yamaha/Trophy package from John at MacSport. The clear difference was the combination of a quality in stock product and a customer centric, knowledgeable, patient and always professional sales manager. They delivered a complete product on time and at a great price. They fully explained all the features, maintenance, warranties and made the sales experience stand above all the others.

We have used Mac Sport and Marine to purchase a used boat and motor as well as a new motor, have regular maintainence on motors done, and also to have specific problems with a motor and pontoon serviced. We have found the folks at Mac to be easy to work with, honest and skilled in taking care of problems that we had. I would recommend Mac to anyone for both purchasing of equipment and service of equipment.

Took my waverunner out of winter storage and did not seem to be getting full top end speed. In the past, this normally means carb clean and rebuild. They said they needed me to authorize 2 hours of shop time to diagnose problem. They ended up spending 2.5 hours to diagnose. ($275) They said it needed the carbs cleaned, but that it also needed a new engine because the compression was 100 in all 3 cylinders. The quote was a minimum of $1,050 to rebuild the carbs plus another $3,500+ for the engine. They suggested it was not worth putting money into it and recommended I talk to sales about possibly buying a new one.I was kind of suspicious because it was running great when I put it into storage and I know that it does not cost $1,050+ for a carb rebuild. Ive had the carbs done at Heiens in Osseo for $650 and at St Croix Power Sports for even less than that. I chose to bring it to a different place where they redid the compression test and found 115 in all 3 cylinders and did not think there was anything wrong with the engine.I dont know if there was problem with Macs compression tester and reported it too low, or if there was something wrong at the other shop and they reported compression too high. So, I am not suggesting that Macs tried to do something unethical, however their repair fees are much much higher than what is charged in Twin Cities. Because of this I would probably not go back there.

John at MAC Sports did a great job of asking how we would use a pontoon and then showed us the Bennington Swingback model that has a couch with reversible seat on the back. Its perfect and John & staff had everything ready to go on they day we picked it up. Also we were happy with the trade-in value for our old pontoon and MAC picked it up from our cabin an hour away.

Called parts Dept twice, left name and number. No response. Ive worked in the parts business, cant be that busy to call a customer back.

Bought a boat here last fall. I would say they are shady at best. go somewhere else and say yourself the pain.......update the owner called me and told me he was not aware of the situation that I had. He wanted to make it right with me. I give him credit for wanting to fix the situation. he was very reasonable to deal with on the whole matter. I guess the morale of the story is go to the top.

Dropped my boat off last fall for them to work on it, they did $800 worth of work, and needed a headgasket I wasnt expecting.This spring it wouldnt start. Called them and asked if they could look at it and tell me why it wouldnt start. I was told that because it took a few months for me to get the additional unexpected money that they refused to look at it. Dont waste your time, find someone who is willing to take your business and stand by their work.I will never trust them with any of my business again, one star because I cant give zero.This spring it
