The smell walking through the door was fantastic. Interesting variety of fresh donuts. We had a chocolate frosted custard filled, a banana split donut, and a maple frosted Persian. Good stuff

Just stopped in and bought coneys. Terrible !! The sauce was real dark. Looked burnt. Tried it anyway. One bite and they went in the garbage. Sauce was sitting too long, and WAS burnt. Had to try it, and now I know I wont be getting them again.

The owners are very friendly and know how to treat a customer. They have a nice selection of cake donuts but also have some great apple fritters. A nice chewy texture with just the right amount of sweetness on the fritter.The establishment has some classy wood booths which encourage people to enjoy their treats right there. Coffee is availableA lot of their business is through catering.

My mother and aunt ordered a cake for my baby shower this past weekend. They had gone to the store and sampled cake and fell in love with an almond flavored cake with Bavarian cream. They proceeded to order this for the main cake and then ordered 60 cupcakes in vanilla and chocolate.The cupcakes were horribly dry, making it difficult to swallow them. The buttercream frosting on the top was an inch thick and so sweet every person scooped this off.The cake was a completely screwed up order. It was supposed the be a lightly tinted pink cake with a white frosting that was sprayed pink. It was neon pink frosting with white cake. The cake itself was supposed to be almond flavor with Bavarian cream. Not one guest could taste the almond and the middle cream was a horrible, thick, way-to-sweet butter cream, same as the buttercream on the outside. The cake itself was very dry. Not one guest finished their piece of cake. Overall, the cake and cupcakes tasted like they were made 3 days ago. The rest of the cake went in the garbage can.When my aunt went to pick up the cake, it was 80 dollars more than was quoted. And the check-out gal was trying to push them to give a tip on top of the much larger bill.The only joy out of this cake was the owner pushed her cards on us to put by the cake so people knew where we ordered this from. At least all the guests at the party will not be tricked I to ordering horrible deserts from this bakery.

I called miss Peggy at 6am this morning (not realizing they werent even open until 7) to arrange a delivery for a friend in the hospital, and she was just lovely! Stark contrast to the customer serviceOf the first bakery I called in Duluth. I was able to arrange a lovely, sugary spread of donuts all the way from Texas, and my friendloved the donuts! I Really liked it but i only had about one excuse so that means your lying and that your donuts are really good so i give it a 5 star rating because my foot hurts and im running out of time to live because were all gonna someday anyways so make the best of it and come to this donut shop and win at life because youll have a dozen excuses for your trillion reasons to stay(song). Stop here when ever I can for breakfast donuts near Duluth. Cozy enviornment, nice employees. Can call ahead for custom orders or browse the fresh donut selection. They also said you could email or use their website for custom orders.

A dozen excuses has never disappointed. The cake doughnuts are absolute the best Ive ever had. The fritters and other doughnuts are delicious too. You can also grab a cup of coffee or a bottle of juice while there. If your around during lunch they offer Coney dogs served on their fresh buns. Very good!

I recommend you go to Johnsons Bakery instead. This place was a waste of time. The cashier was so awkward and did not know how to refund us for water bottles that they didnt have. She tried to give us cups of tap water for the same amount. Not a lot for the selection and the donuts were just okay. At least it was cheap.

The donut I had was ok. Was disappointed to be meeting a friend here, all reviews say how good it is. However, the morning we went there was only about 5-10 pastries left in the case to choose from. It was still morning, so thought there would be more options.

Donuts are good and its a charming environment, Ill give them that. However there is a $5 minimum for credit cards and no wi-fi. For someone that wants to work or study for a couple hours, youll be disappointed.
