This place will RIP you off every chance they can get. Craig the nighttime manager takes the cake. He is definitely the most uneducated, unprofessional and argumentative employee they have. How he was promoted to Manager is beyond me. They must be either desperate or have zero requirements for him to be promoted to that position. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE unless you want to be lied to and price gouged. Factory radio went out and stopped displaying the factory backup camera video. They sold my daughter a $700 stereo and then told her if she wanted to be able to have the factory backup camera reconnected it would be an additional $300 because they would need to do additional wiring at $150 an hour?? Save your money and frustration and go to sounds on wheels. At least their Managers are professional and have integrity. I imagine this place is always hiring....no experience necessary.

They were able to get my install done same day. Got my car back with everything back in its place and ready to go. Knowledgeable & professional staff.

Paid $500 and spent 5 hours for the remote starter that didn’t work. Now they asked for another 5 hours so that they can figure out what’s going on or reprogram it. Time is money, and these people are big liability. First and last time here.

Have you ever had your car so clean you didn’t want to let kids back in it??? There was sweet and sour sauce stuck on one of those seats!They were unable to get a sticker off my window at the shop because it adhered to the tiny, but told me how to safely remove it at home!

I had a great experience with purchasing a deck and speakers. The team were very accommodating and installed the system very quickly since I had to wait at the store. I will definitely shop here again.

The team at Car Toys were very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs. Both the installation manager and general manager worked very hard to get me everything I asked for and they ensured that I felt comfortable with the investment. A complete system was installed and it surpassed my expectations. I’ll return to this shop because I trust the people there.

Over priced shop. I don’t doubt their work is good.. but they wanted to charge $400 for an installation.. that’s $200 an hour.. I’ve never even been to a shop where a mechanic fixing major issues charges that kind of fee.. I’m also not over exaggerating this.. they quoted me $615 I have my own sub and amp.. the $215 came from a high low converter and a wiring kit..

3000.00 and i get an amp falling off my trunk paper thin wire and they change out speakers i paid for with a different brand and didnt bother to tell me. Very UN professional. Promised me is get it installed a week after i payed for it and they would call me a couple days later, or was 2 weeks later. They say anything just to get your business. Garbage installation to boot. Wouldnt recommend

So I had to get an Intoxalock installed. As embarrassing as it is to have this done, because I was stupid, the staff NEVER made me feel that way, not did anybody look at me sideways due to my situation. Carl, in particular, was very helpful. He explained the device and all its ins & outs better than Intoxalock themselves. He gave me tips for use, explained how to put in in power saver mode to salvage battery use. The company itself only sold me the item. He went above and beyond, by switching out my plates on my new car for me. I didnt have tools in this car. The whole staff works well together and I watched the interactions with other customers too. They treat people right here. I would drive past 3 Car Toys to get to this one!!Thanks Carl, and staff!!

The door was covered in plywood when I went they must of had a break in. Theres not a lot of staff and each customer take up a lot of time due to the nature of the business so dont leave your phone in the car because youll have time to check your email or play a round of your fav. Game. Theres a separate glass enclosed section were the install happens Theres not a lot of merchandise out but that could be because it was all stolen im not sure. The young man that helped me was nice and helpful.

I recently got my chevy detailed by their detailing manager named Edwin. I have to say that i am very impressed. I have gotten my car detailed in many other places but the quality of detail i was presented here was amazing. Not only did the detailer fix my carpets and clean my car, he also gave me a really good deal. He didn’t over charge me for fixing my carpets and he also threw in extra ozone treatment for my car. Edwin looks very young, but dont judge the book by its cover, his skills and talent as a detailer is showroom worthy. The only thing that might bother other people is the amount of time they need for a detail, but i can happily pass than off for the amazing quality they provide, both in cleaning and service. I wish i can rate the service more than a 5 star.

It must be the groupon. Got my SUV interior detailed and they missed so many spots and couldnt get the smell, didnt clean my headliner, left spots etc.Music wise I dont know, but this interior detail sucks. Waste of money.

Terrible experience!Last year, I bought a Groupon for interior detailing. I make my appointment, dropped off my car and paid full price for exterior detailingCame back several hours later and they were too busy and didn’t do my car at all!I received a full refund and received a voucher for a free interior and exterior detail.Fast forward to a month ago, I found the voucher in my wallet and called to make an appointment.I attempted to drop my car off and they didn’t have a record of the appointment I booked 2 weeks prior. I made another appointment for 2 weeks outThis bring us to today. I dropped off my car at 9am this morning. Reminded the agent about my voucher for interior and exterior. I did a walk through with a detailerI picked up my car after calling ahead to confirm it was done. The interior was done, but not the exterior. The agent talked to the detailing staff and they didn’t “know” it was supposed to be exterior too. That is BS! I talked to multiple agents and they were all aware the job was interior and exterior.I took my keys and left. I will never return and I caution anyone else to avoid detailing at car toys. They have terrible service.

I came in today looking to get my radio fixed(which I did) and discussing with Adrian about the cost I explained that it was too much and I would like to get it checked out to see the issue and not actually fix it today but instead Adrian and Cj worked with me and zero out the cost which is truly amazing! Also Adrian and Cj provided good customer service throughout the appointment, receiving my service once more in the future!

Thought I would elaborate on my rating as I was asked by someone here.So, was getting a stereo put in my Mazda. Came in for a mounting kit. Was sold the wrong one.Came back and returned at the Tacoma location. They didnt have the one I needed called another store and was told that they had it. Drove there to find out they didnt. Ended up at another store after two other attempts and phone calls. Was a terrible experience.

A staff member by the name of Brandon was very helpful as I was having my own issues with finding the right fit for a mounting bracket to hold my phone in the car. He took control came out to the car and set it up to my satisfaction. He was very friendly and helped a lot in resolving my issue. Thank you car toys for a good experience.

Literally waited over ten minutes and one old guy was just standing around, nobody acknowledged us and when we walked up to the counter the large man told us it would be a few minutes. We waited, after he finished what he was doing he just walked to the back. So rude never coming back.

These guys are helpful & I appreciate the great communication regarding my interior detail service. Kerry took great care of my car that had never been detailed before & explained everything along the way. I’m so glad I got this done today. My car & I are quite satisfied.

If I could give a negative star I would. The customer service is absolutely the worst, you think you are spending full price on a new stereo to find out that they used the display with customers phones stored on the radio with no discount. The connection Job was a joke, the charged me $60 for a $25 wiring kit and didn’t even connect my amp and my sub. I came back and they just had excuses make it sound like it’s my fault they couldn’t do the work because my sub was broken, when the day before when they were installing it they looked at my sub with nothing wrong. This place is an absolute joke. The invoice had a bunch of misc charges they said were for “labor” how is installing a deck and wiring over $500 in labor. They are running a shotty business here and corporate needs to know what is going on because how could they have a store like this representing a car toys.

My friend recently brought their new van here to be detailed. It wasnt super dirty but she wanted everything as clean as possible. She asked for top of the line every bell and whistle. The staff was nice, gave her a discount and even finished a fewhours early. When she picked up the van we noticed that there were crumbs in the cup holders, dust on the dash, and the 3rd row seats hadnt even been folded up. They barely wiped or vacuumed anything and only shampood the floor mats. The windows were more dirty after they cleaned them. There were still bobby pins, pine needles, and sand all over under the seats because they didnt even vacuum under there. If this was the best they could do I would hate to see their worst. She paid something like $250.00 and they barely did anything. She was furious. Do not give these people your money.

Ive been to Car Toys several times for product and service in the last year and Im always impressed with how quickly they acknowledge my presence and take care of my car stereo needs. Kerry (one of the techs) and the manager Camille were two of the notables Ive had the pleasure of doing business with at this particular Car Toys. I would recommend this store to any of my friends or associates!

To add to the unnecessary complaint with Meghan D. I overheard the conversation with the sales team at this location while I was being helped by the great, helpful, and very respectful staff. The detailer they had was great! The issue was that she wanted something she did not pay for and expected the staff to kneel to her demands. I understand the struggle of not getting what you want the first time, but it doesnt give anyone the right to treat the staff in this location like garbage.I had my moms car detailed here and the detailer cleaned my car with 110% effort and did not miss a spot anywhere. It is true that the detailer is very slow at getting cars done, but thats actually a good thing. I think that taking the time and working hard to clean a car is better than getting my car back within a few hours and only getting less than 100%.Coming from a food industry background of experience, I know that things can get out of hand and hard to control. The review and treatment that Ms. Meghan gave is invalid and does not reflect the service and care the staff of this location provided. Yes, there was miscommunication and yes there was mistakes made, but at the time the staff was getting overwhelmed and they were doing their best. I wish I can give this location 6 stars for doing their best and willing to loose money just to provid amazing service. If there was a way to rate and review costumers, Ms. Meghan would get 0 stars and will be banned from my establishment.

Was shopping for myself today. I was not greeted by not a single person. Was not asked if I needed any kind of help. The manager was really too busy copying some things. The woman that was at the register was helping customers already. There was a guy in the back shop that decided to come in, but he helped the men that came in after me. (Half hour later)They lost business and who ever I care to share this with. I wasted my time, not my money.

I called to inquire about installing an all-in-one under-seat subwoofer Rockville RW8CA that I purchased from Amazon. I spoke to Camille, she was on it. She asked a few questions, and there was no appointment needed. I went in the store in 20 mins, Camille greeted me while helping other customers. She was quick and explained EVERYTHING in the process. She showed me a few better subs in the store to show some options, she did good explaining and comparing other subs that they had. I had to stick with my sub because Im on a budget. The tech Damian looked at my unit and my vehicle to access it. I have a 2016 Chevy Spark LT, it has very limited space. He explained the best location for the sub and he was showing me how it would look under the passenger side seat. I left my car, and came back 3 hours later and my car was already done. Damien gave my car back looking so much better. He did a slick job. I cant tell that this guy took my car apart. Hes like a ninja, left no tracks. The staff was helpful, they know what theyre doing for sure. The staffs professionalism was a positive experience for me. I hope they get some acknowledgement from their employer for best customer service. Good customer service from real people doesnt compare to on-line retail. I will probably come back here for some detail work.

I went to two separate stores and had to return the speakers I received from both of those locations due to low quality. He was very clear about what my car would need done, and when I came to pick it up he explained his whole process. Very professional, very kind, very helpful. 3-4 stars is good. The real techie in there is THE INSTALLER. They have been in the trade long enough to know what constitutes good sound for the customer. Decent selection of mid grade and some very high-level audio decks with separate midrange and tweeter combos. If you go in knowing what you like that would be best. Id say they are competitive above the box store BEST BUY.You have to really enjoy listening to quality music to get into a nice system. It will beat the stock radio setup in your current vehicle..

Went in for a simple radar detector rewire for a new car originally bought the radar detector at that store they quoted me 150 then called me wanted me to pay 240 by the time I was out the door it was 290.I asked if they knew how to change the color on the screen and he said he didn’t knowyou would think about being that proud of their install and being that they sell the product there that they would be more educated on how it works.The actual install was cleanit was the customer service and product knowledge that was below average.You would think they would have booked time to know what they should charge for my rig being my rigs has been on the market for over 10 years!I won’t be returningplenty of other stores to get this kind of work done.

Walked in having issues with my Kenwood stereo system. Im an Analog guy and had no idea how to work the settings to get the best sound. The gentleman came out to my vehicle and in 10 minutes hr had it tuned to perfection. No cost, just professional and friendly service and expertise. Ill be back for any upgrades and Ill send anyone their way! Thanks again guys!

After going back and forth about a backup camera for my 2013 VW Passat I choose to go into CarToys Tacoma Mall location I looked around found the camera section only three options I then walked around some more even walked up to the counter and looked but never greeted I should have know the level of service but I over looked it finally Camille very nice helped sale me a camera the cheapest one of $49.99 minus the $10.00 dollar discount they had going on this camera my grand total came out to $418.74 and I still did it crazy me right I know but I digress the reason they have earned a one star is the customer service after they get your money they can install anything they sale right then or within a day but if they messed up or you have problems with the item please feel free to schedule a service three to five days out the we hope you just go away mentally we got your money is clearly the golden rule of their business and not just this location ALL OF THEM I called oh and VW fixed their mess up for a small few cause this is not the first time this electrical problem has come up oh might I mentioned I asked them when would the installer be able to fix this or should I have VW check it out but do business as the paperwork says that you signed to get the work done AT YOUR OWN RISK oh know I’ll wait for the half tale reply I’m going to get if they are smart they won’t waste their time typing it up and actually work on a better business model

I went to there to have a car alarm installed. Their hidden fees made it cost double the sticker price. They said I could have it installed right then and there but it would be a wait or come back the next day and it would be faster. I chose to come back the next day. They said it would be two hours. It took nine hours. NINE HOURS! And they kept telling me it would only “45 more minutes” so I felt I couldn’t leave. After all was said and done, my power locks don’t work right. I’d rather pull my own teeth than ever come here again.

You can tell that Kerry really loves his job, he’s such a friendly person too! This is my second time back to this specific location and the second time I’ve received 5 star service. Highly recommended.

I braught my gmc in for new head unit and back up camera install . They broke my dash panel and made cracks in some spots, DONT GO HERE but if you do, AFTER THEY INSTALL SOMETHING IN YOUR CAR PLZ TAKE YOUR TIME AND CHECK EVERYTHING IF THEY BROKE SOMETHING.

Full RipOff! I bought a remote start with free install. I went in to schedule the install and they told me it would be $560!! I pointed out the free install and they changed the price to $250 saying I need a bypass module and extra time for install. My car does not require a bypass and does not have power locks and per compustar (manufacturer) should require no extra supplies or time. I ended up returning my product and leaving never again to purchase anything from CarToys anywhere!

Recently had to do a long car trip with 2 small kids and a small dog, so my minivan was in desperate need of an interior detailing job. Kerry did an amazing job with every crevice and the mats looked great. He’s rightfully proud of his work and was very professional.

I give zero stars because the services done to my well maintained 2007 Lexus ES 350 now has cracks, and sagging leather when it looked brand new to begin with! if i had the time i would have taken them to court!!!! im extremely disappointed and will never take any of my vehicles to this place again!

They charged me $200 more than what they told me. They told me they were going to take care of it. Many months past and they didn’t do anything. Their lost! I wanted to do much more to my car, my husbands car, my mom’s car. They lost a lot of business with me by stealing my money! Now anyone that tells me they are going to car toys I tell them not to go. I will never go there again.

Carey did a great job on interior detail and was really personable. I only gave 4 stars because I think they need some extra hands to man the phones. I had to make an appt because of COVID and needed to reschedule. Took about three calls to do this but they were really appreciative that I rescheduled and didnt just no show.
