This was the 5th safest Safeway I have ever had the pleasure to be able to witness. Simply amazed. The most incredible thing was the infinity mirrors room. Mirrors were two way interrogation windows. You could watch subjects inside make all these incredible calculations about the physical world that was merely a falsehood. A 2D projected but measurable space. What they did with the laser was incredible. They took a unit of measurements based off of their own body parts, as a reference. Then shone a laser...the beam seemed to go on forever and ever as it bounced back and forth between each image of the mirror reflecting itself. They calculated that it must go on indefinitely...but I was just on the other side.

The remodeled Albertsons now the Safeway Store on Steilacoom Blvd in Lakewood, WA is clean, new floor design in some areas, more self checkouts than before and have friendly employees. Need chicken for dinner? Cheap chicken Monday is popular! $5.99 for 8 piece. After 5pm they run out quick (after work rush) but if you have more shopping to do a fresh batch is usually done within 15 minutes.

I love the changes so far it appears to be much brighter, produce section is very nice and well put together & Great staff as always well done you guys however thought the Manager was a little rude when I tried to ask a question he didnt care to here the question and sent me to someone else so instead of just taking a second to answer the question he pushed me off on someone else poor customer service as hes always had however the rest of the staff make up for it .

I absolutely love the the pick up service at this location. The selections are just as if Id shopped myself. I ordered a cake mix and other things to go along with that. Holly actually called me and said it looks like youre going to make something and were out of the cake mix you ordered. Can I sub another flavor for you? Thank goodness because I needed that cake for a birthday. Rather than just leaving it off my order because they were out of stock she called which I appreciated.

Everything is great while they made the transfer from Albertsons to Safeway.Except. When they ring you up and have to type in a quantity, theyll fat finger the 0 or 3 while pressing the enter button. You might get charged for a quantity of 10 or 13 instead of 1. They were very understanding a couple days later when I had to go back for a refund. Only annoying thing is having to go back

WOW!! Was just in newly remodeled Safeway. Looks great. However, the gentleman working the customer service desk so unprofessional. Short tempered, appeared annoyed. Made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Never have I felt that at a Safeway.Sad

Every time I shop at this store the shelves are poorly stocked and they don’t have what I came for. Ridiculous. I’m forced to go farther away for a better shopping experience. Such a huge inconvenience.

Clean great produce wonderful meat I go at night so its not busy I dont like the people the stuff is all very helpful and nice

Beautifully updated store. There is a lot of frustration in the deli area. Every time I go in there is at least 5 people behind the counter and everyone ignores you. They have 1 person running the counter who is constantly slammed. Good customer service is acknowledging your customers even if you cant help them right away. Please dont ignore them.

Love safeway lines get a little long but what the heck

This Albertsons is one of the best places to buy flowers and balloons for most occasions, but their Valentines Day spread is simply amazing. If you want to buy your significant other a nice Valentines Surprise, this is one of the best places to go. The store is in the middle of some rearranging now and its a little chaotic, but Im sure items will be in better places once everything is complete. The express checkout just got a major overhaul and many more checkout kiosks were added. Overall this is a great supermarket with very friendly and helpful staff, and a wide selection of items.

Its the same store it always was, the remodel turned out really nice most of the same people still work there its a bit nicer now and I have some different products in stock

I love how easy it is to get in & out both as a motorist and pedestrian. Living in the neighborhood, we often walk over but every now and then i zip in on my way home from work. Good selection of products, we only occasionally have to go to another store to finish the weeks shopping.

This store used to be awesome….. before they put the Safeway sign on it. I know it was all the same conglomerate before but since the sign changed, the quality of the products and availability of all groceries in general has gone significantly downhill. The only time I’m guaranteed to get everything on my list is if I go in there at 7 am…. But not if I go in at 330pm, bc the shelves are mostly empty then. Apparently they don’t think midday stocking is necessary. Must be an awful store manager, idk. And even if I do get everything I need…. The quality of the products is just sad now. Especially the “signature cafe” products that dominate the shelves these days. At this point, I’m just grateful there’s a real butcher and produce store down the street. It might a bit longer to my travel and errand time to go to two different stores for the same needs but as far as quality goes…. TOTALLY WORTH IT…. Not mad at anyone but myself for not realizing that AAAmeats and H&L Produce are RIGHT THERE … and neither establishment sells mass produced SUBPAR meat or produce. So……. You can eat a **** Safeway…. We don’t need a or want you. Either get your ish together or go away, please.

I am a frequent shopper here at my neighborhood store. I stop in 2 or more times a week. Customer service has always been great, however I must say I was a bit disappointed the other day. My roommate and myself had finished our shopping and were checking out. Due to back problems, it is hard for either of us to carry groceries out and we always ask for help. I asked 4 times for someone to come to help us out. Each time I was ignored, so I finally asked Monjey . I shouldnt. have to ask 4 times for help. I know you guys are far better than this ..Customer service has always been great, but on this day you fell short.

Surprisingly not as clean as I was expecting it to be. Granted there was also construction there... But it looked dirty as well. Overall, not really impressed. Not the worst place either though just so I might add. But, I would have expected better.

The store was clean and well stocked, sale prices are clearly marked, and there were no lines.

While the store is remodelling they are still keeping it clean and organised. While some things have moved, the staff were very friendly when helping me locate what I was looking for. The produce was fresh and reasonably priced.

Great neighborhood grocery store good for sale items and last minute needs. If its not on sale, kind of pricey. Friendly staff. Love that they now have many more self checkout lanes.

Looks like theyre close to finishing the remodel and its looking good. Itll be great once its completely done though, because for several months it was very chaotic!! Everytime you walked in there things were in a different place. What made it the worst is that when they moved things around each time, they didnt even keep things in a similar area. Instead theyd put it at the opposite end of the store and change what it was even with or by... There was no since or even make since with what was put together (no rythm to the madness)!!

This particular Albertsons is too notch in my book. The moment I walked into the store I was treated like royalty. No joke. And all I needed was quarters to do my laundry at my apt. complex. Then I began to frequent the store more I felt as if I was at home. Anyhow I feel that these associates that work here are above and beyond the willingness to serve mark.

Store is great an convenient, but now that its a safeway suddenly everybody wants to shop there, so of course its crowded.Dont try getting anything at the deli, theyre so slow they work backwards.

Unfortunately I had purchased an item that was really, really expired beyond taste and it was not very tasty. Called and spoke to Krystal who was the Person In Charge. She handle the situation with empathy and consideration of the matter.My original trip there I had picked up some deli food and the worker advised which was the freshest so I wouldn’t be getting old food.Lines were a bit long, but cashier was handling a situation with a gift card balance with the customer two ahead of me, but handled it like a pro.Overall, each time when I visit which is frequent, I always have great experience with the employees and also the store is always layed out in a organized manner where I am able to easily locate items in a reasonable time.

I realize theyre undergoing a remodel right now, and change is always difficult to manage, but one of things that I would appreciate more coordination on is the communication with Instacart and other shopper app entities when products change inventory locations. Today I went to the locations specified on my Instacart app of where things were supposed to be in the store only to find that things arent where they are supposed to be, and that creates waste of motion on my part trying to find things, including interrupting store personnel from what theyre doing to ask for guidance, all of which leads to delay and are contributing factors in potential negative outcomes for the end customer. Im giving a 4 star rating because I have faith in this store for the future that theyll be better. The staff I interacted with were very helpful. My gripe is with the systems issues, not at all with the people who work there.

With a healthy variety to choose from, the produce department was well stocked and maintained with fresh high quality fruits and vegetables.Also found a fine quality and selection of fresh meats. This was impressive for (comparatively)such a small store.

The location is great for the local patrons. There are some seedy people in the vicinity of the parking lots. I prefer to shop at Fred Meyer for this reason. Its a Lakewood issue.

I noticed that the aisles have gotten narrower and employees are stocking as we are shopping and people are feeling like they are in somebodys way and apologizing constantly and we should not have to feel that way.the store is actually abusing us and turning shopper against shopper so Ill have to change my routine so they can gouge me with fake sale prices no customer service and interfering with employees stocking.sorry for being in the way yall

Clean and folks actually being asked to adjust and wear a mask. Politely and effectively. After each person uses the self check out an employee rushes in to clean surfaces quickly before the next customer begins to check out. They work very hard and it shows.

Had our Covid vaccine there this morning. Would rather go to shop though. Friendly staff. Renovating, it will be great.

The store is nearby my house, so it is convenient in a way . although they have signs all over for social distancing it is hard to be enforce when the store is busy .. The bread aisle I know it is vendor maintain but the bread i bought 2 loaves a both expired, I just never have find a time to return it, cause its over $6 for both I dont even know if they will accept it .. But it just need to improve customer service in the deli section ... Customers pile up, and tge 6 ft social distancing is not even fallowedAnd please check the bread aisle

Im new to this area. I like shopping for groceries here. The fruits and vegetables are fresh. I love the pies, cookies and cakes from the bakery. I like that I dont have to wait in line for a long time and the customer service is awesome.

The Sea Food Department Stinks🤢 No seafood should have a smell like I’ve come to this store numerous occasions after 10pm and the seafood is still in the case when it’s supposed to get put up and the case needs to be cleaned 🧽!!!!! Just walking by the seafood section you have to brace yourself for the smell because it smells THAT BAD!🤢🤮.DO BETTER ALBERTSONS!!!!!!!

I not use to write a review until I met Carmelina. She was so friendly and very organized with my groceries when she bagged them. I been going to this store many time because of sunshine, now came this lady just like sunshine. She likes smiling and waving to everyone at the store.

Need more cart holders in the parking lot. Only have them on the outer edges of parking lot. People might be better at returning them if more centrally located. Was very rainy and very inconvenient

During this time of Covid I recently witnessed a checker taking off her mask at the register and blowing her nose with very gooey snot into a already snotty rag. Disgusting. It is bad enough that this store as many others in Pierce County are not limiting shoppers and are not following disinfecting protocol.

This is one of the greatest stores in the area. They had everything I need. The only suggestion is expand variety of potato chip dip.

Decent food options with a large pharmacy area.Keep an eye open for coupons and specials to stretch your money.Meat options are excellent as is the produce.Employees are plentiful, nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Such a nice change from the cheap stores.
