They always have a van when I need it. I usually use them to puck up and move props for shows I am working in the DC area. Expe t long lines and to wait as they are very busy and under staffed.

The truck was great but read the small print! Mileage is extra so when you book a truck at $20 a day, the total you see doesnt include the miles that charge at over 70c a mile so 100 miles will add More than $100 to the price you will pay. So it looks like the cheapest deal around when you see it but if you do the math, other rentals may be cheaper.

It has gotten a bit better. Some visible improvements. The person who helped me was not very pleasant or knowledgeable.

Decent and quick service so i’ll give 3 stars for that. But, the parking lot is full of people hanging out who are asking to help you move and won’t leave you alone. Someone even rushed to my car as i pulled in. I wouldn’t come back to this location.

Made it very hard to get my rental and took 30 minutes to find and get the keys to the rental truck. Smh. Very bad experience for me and this is the 1st time I ever used them and more than likely my last.

Made my 24/7 truck reservation at 8am and had confirmations the day before that all would be good. To only show up and be told I have to wait until the store opens after calling numerous numbers and being told to call back between normal hours and waiting around for an hour as employees avoided me.

Online pickup didnt work but the staff handled eveything pretty quickly when I asked. Was a sold option for a couple hour rental of a cargo van

One of the female associate look like she doesnt like her job she was so slow take her almost 40 minutes just for rent us a tow dolly plus she didnt give to us any information about when we have to return cost or why we need to pick up a location to drop the thing before to know with is close to or destination. I what to conclude saying the experience was stressful none information at all about the rental plus by side the rental you have to spend another 40 dollars in a Tool because is not included in the rental illogical they rent dollys and dont include the essential thing.

The staff is very helpful. I had an issue with my rental and the staff went above and beyond to fix the issue and get me my truck in a short period of time.

Be Sure to take your own pictures of the condition of the uhauls. I was charged for 11 Gal of gas after returning the fuel on the same level. Also charged for 2 days when it was only one. They dont do any due diligence here, so make sure to do your own. I used the digital pick-up and return which seemed like a pretty good idea, but now im stuck trying to get ahold of someone in a long call queue just days after moving, charged$100+ over the quote with bogus charges. Definitely not ideal. Look elsewhere for truck rentals IMO

Overall the location is ok,but the representatives seem as if they dont want to be there. A few times a couple employees told the others they would be back while they text on their phones. When they returned still on the phone asked for the next customer. The employees continued to text whoever was on the other end. Im not sure who the manager onsite was,because the uniforms were all the same. The customer service needs improvement.

Uhaul is charging money for an outstanding bill i got as a result of a motorcycle accident during the rental. They are charging any amount to my Credit Card to pay the bill in full. I tried to do a payment arrangement so I could maintain a suitable financial structure, but Uhaul feels as though the Snack & Grab is the better way to go..... SMFH

BUYER BEWARE avoid this place for hitch installation at all costs. They installed an improper hitch on our vehicle and it has been a complete nightmare to resolve. It is rattling our entire car while we drive because it was installed right up against our exhaust. Impossible to reach the mechanic/manager for a tangible timeline without physically showing up at the location.

The worst experience I have ever had with a moving company, or any uhaul store I have been to before this. The staff was inept and incapable, and refused to take initiative when it came to helping us in any fashion. I went to this store, waited 30+ minutes just to talk to someone, then waited another 30 minutes to speak to a manager named Erfan who gave us the most useless information one could possibly give. This location is understaffed and unfriendly, so if you are looking to waste over an hour of your time as well as your general happiness, come to this location

Made a reservation. Store manager said the reservation could not be found and it’s customers’ job to make sure u-haul representatives did their job. Didn’t want to fix the problem. Asked customers to call customer service and deal with it.

Good customer service once arriving. Friendly staff. Calling over the phone is a nightmare. For context, I called on a Tuesday morning at 8am and was put on hold for more than an hour. I would call back after awhile to see if theyd forgotten about me, but each time theyd answer I would immediately get put on hold. I finally got through when I talked to Corporate who called the location.

Horrible costumer service. We made a reservation to access our U-Box with 48 hours window and when we arrived they claimed we didnt make any call. The manager Erfan Hedayati claims we did not make any reservation and we wont have access to the U-Box. He claims is our fault since we didnt follow up to be sure they schedule the service. They want the costumer to do the job of U-haul.He laughs at the face of the costumer since he does not want to solve the problem. Read all the one star reviews at this location and just go somewhere else.

I cannot fathom still how rude the front desk woman was towards me. She threatened to smack me when she saw me In person all because she chose to retaliate and not run my card and charge me for the uhaul I had rented??? Then threatened police activity when I said take my money??? So I could extend???The company didn’t care that the threat was very much recorded and heard clear as day. Instead they tried to extort me by making me pay extra when I should no have.

Super long line and only one person working on a Saturday morning. Digital pickup option didnt work. About 10 different customers waiting with same frustrations. Not the one person working heres fault, just a bad setup and process in general.

The manager here really went above and beyond to help get me the info I needed! This location was out of UBoxes but he found me a location nearby that had them.

I came in to put a hitch on the car, I got the wrong day. My bad. The guy behind the desk said no problem he could do it that day, just give him and hour/hour and a half. I waited there and in a nearby park for 6 full hours. Every time I checked back they would say he is just getting to it now, give him an hour. 6 hours waiting at a Uhaul is way too long. I wish they had better communication skills at this location.

Make sure you take a picture of the odometer. This Uhaul location charged me for 65 miles when I only use 9 miles.

When you are looking for a moving company you want to know the people stand behind the products and work. They dont here.Heres what happened to me: I had arranged to have a hitch installed on my car on the uhaul website. I paid for it directly on the site- came to about 317 dollars. I scheduled the appointment for 8am on a Monday and showed up about 15 minutes early. Then things went wrong. First, health-safety-wise, hardly anyone was properly wearing their face coverings. Second, they didnt have a record or my appointment. Once I showed them my confirmation, they only grudgingly acknowledged it. Third, they would not let me talk to a manager at first. Finally when I did meet the manager, Dointe, his mask didnt cover his noise, and he had no sympathy for my situation and told me to wait until his mechanic showed up. We arranged to talk again in 30min once he had a chance to review with his technician. Since I already paid, he offered no compensation for my lost time. After waiting patiently for another 30 min, Dointe never returned... I waited on him an additional 30 min. By this time it was closer to 9:30, and they were installing hitches on other cars. Dointe never showed up to speak with me again, but instead someone named Rhodric said they were searching for a hitch for me to install sometime today. He made it sound like they were doing me some great favor. At that point I just asked for a refund. At least Rhodric was wearing a mask properly. While waiting, another guy in line chatted me up and told me about how they installed the wrong hitch on his car last time. He paid for primium hitch, but got a less expensive one installed. He noticed, and got it replaced. I wonder how many people are not that lucky. I have 0 trust in this store or company.

The worst experience Ive ever had. Customer service was awful. When I arrived I was accosted by 5 or 6 day labors. When I returned the vehicle the young lady behind the counter was sitting in the chair obvious that I was waiting. Not until the post man came in did she wave her hand. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. When I expressed to her my concerns she did not even acknowledge my concerns. She simply asked, are you here to pick up or return. I will NEVER EVER use Uhaul again. TOTALLY unacceptable.

I rented the 20 truck with $39 for a day. It was convenient. I like Uhaul.

I was so grateful for my experience renting a Ubox and a U-Haul from this location/branch. Not only did my items remain safe, dry, and not-musty for many months in the Ubox storage, the process to retrieve them and load them into the U-Haul was very smooth. The rented truck was ready and available on the day. The manager at this location was communicative with his customers and his staff, even amidst a busy weekend with many people renting trucks. Thank you for a great move!

They gave me a terrible truck. Steering was dancing so the truck on the road. When it came to even a little uphill, it was slowing down to much even with no load. I just did not have time to replace it but i am shocked how do they not notice this. Not to safe drive at all

Had to cycle through 4-5 different vehicles for self pickup before I found one that was actually on the lot, but otherwise the experience is relatively smooth.

I would give this facility zero stars if I were able. They have had my U-box in their facility for 2 months (it was shipped from New York.) When our movers went to pick it up a week ago, they were informed it was not yet ready even though the facility was aware that that was our pickup date for two months. Frustrating, but we rescheduled it for a week later and were hopeful that would be that. No such luck. When our movers went back they were informed that the facility still had not located the box (I sincerely doubt that the attempt was even made during that week.) They were incredibly rude and all but refused to speak to my moving company while they were quite literally standing at the general managers desk. When I then called, the general manager (the man who tried to avoid my moving company) hung up on me and then turned off his phone so that I could not reach him or the facility. The facility clearly needs to hire a new general manager, or U-Haul needs to cease its association with them. Its an embarrassment. Oh, and I still dont have my belongings. At this point it may require legal help to obtain them.

Dont bother ordering for pickup. I placed an order a week ahead of time, and when I got there to pick it up, I was told a key item was not in stock. When I asked what the point of ordering ahead was, the staff told me that in theory it was so they could set stuff aside, but since there was no room for that, there was, effectively, no point at all.

I quoted myself for 30 miles of driving and did under 30 miles. Drove from takoma to eckington and back (11 miles give or take). When I got back the guy told me I drove 70 miles which was incorrect. He then charged me 40 dollars to make up for the misquote I gave them.The truck was also filthy. The buttons were sticky and the floor had dirt all over it.Lastly, at this location none of the workers had masks on when checking me out.

Insanely slow service and unfriendly staff. Been here three times over two years and it’s been this way each time. To give you an example of how bad this is, I’ve been in like for 50 minutes and I’m still not next up. Only one guy is working. The guy outside who checks the vehicles does not have a mask on and is avoiding customers who need him to check their vehicle. 11 people are in line. One guy just came in saying he waited 45 minutes and when he finally got his truck it has the check engine light on and zero gas in the tank. Welcome to Uhual...

I was waiting in line and one of the workers came in from outside to ask me if I was returning the trailer. He pulled me out of line to take care of everything out by my truck. Saved a lot of time and made the drop-off process very easy!

Wanted to return van. Waited 30 minutes with employees wandering aimlessly around the store. Line literally wrapping around the store. When we finally were attended to we were told to go outside to the attendant. We did not see an attendant before we went in order after; there was an open garage that said employee only and nobody outside. We flagged a person in the garage and he helped us. This is only getting a second star because the actual return attendant was quick and efficient, after wed waited for 30 minutes.

Additionally, a year ago I had issues installing a hitch in my car and the techs at this location helped resolve the problem. Couldn’t recommend this U-Haul location enough!

I had a reservation for a cargo van, and the staff was very helpful when I arrived. I did not have to go inside. Mr. Gregory brought me my key outside and showed me where the vehicle was parked. I would definitely recommend this location.

Reserved a 10 ft truck. got there at 10 am and after waiting 2 hrs to be told the truck I reserved 2 weeks ago wasnt available. told to got to another uhaul lot to the same situation. then they gave me another location and while heading there they called again. that truck wouldnt be there until 6 pm. I advise anyone not to deal with this company, they run you around forever.

HORRIBLE! I was one hold for a total of twenty minutes. No one asked me what I needed assistance with or anything they continuously placed me on hold and kept me on hold. UNPROFESSIONAL AND RIDICULOUS!

I am impressed with the attention they gave me today I have always rented trucks here but this time they told me that I could not because my license was not good I have been with this same drivers license for 6 years I have never been discriminated against as much as today.

Go somewhere else & reserve when you do! When I pulled up to this location there was already a long line which is isn’t a problem, it’s Saturday. The problem came when my boyfriend and I stood in that line for almost 40 minutes and weren’t told they were all booked until we finally got INSIDE and were maybe 4th or 5th in line! And I’m not saying we’re special but for everyone in that line that didn’t have any thing reserved (most), they could have had the courtesy to notify us so we’re not wasting our time.

I have paid to have a hitch installed on my vehicle and visited twice. Ill have to visit again as they still dont have the necessary parts. The first visit was met with their computer system down, and with a system down, the staff have no clue about handling rentals and payments. So I rescheduled.The second visit, during which I waited over two hours, resulted with being informed they had the wrong hitch to install on my car. I received a call later stating they couldnt find the right one within 100 miles and need to order it. Well see if they can find the correct hitch or if Ill need to cancel the order...

The experience with both the national and local entities are terrible. Use Pods or some other service and save yourself the hassle and frustration.We moved using Uboxes as we had not yet found our next home. The website has 3 options, one of which is Truck Delivery. Takoma Park UHaul refuses to deliver our 3 Uboxes to our new home in Virginia via the Truck Delivery option. This forces me into a situation of having to rent a truck & hitch then tow and unpack 3 different U Boxes. Effectively forcing my move to be completed over two days when it should take less than 4 hours. Id communicate this to someone at the local site but there isnt any one paying attention or cares. The national group heard my complaint gave me a complaint # but has done nothing about it.Ive now spent $800 on the packing of my old house $420 dollars on 2 months worth of storage fees and will ultimately be paying close to $1400 to have my stuff unpacked from the Uboxes and loaded into a truck to be delivered to my new home. I really wish I had used an alternate vendor.

DO NOT USE UHaul. Made reservations to install trailer hitch for my car at 7:30 am. The tech was not there and was told that he should be there any minute. Almost two hours later, he shows up and the tech tells me that part needed is not even there. Now if you were a busy working parent that has a million other things to do, would you be able afford the hours just wasted. The entire place looked disorganized and they could care less. So many businesses that will love to take your $ and your business. This is not one of them.

The DMV of U-Hauls... Do not sign up for a trailer hitch installation here!! I had a hitch installation appointment scheduled for noon and the install wasn’t done until after closing time at 7 o clock. I was told it would take 2 hours. I would totally get it if it even took 3 hours because installations are always a little hard to judge. But this long is completely unacceptable. I asked if they could comp a moving truck so that I could move while waiting or knock something off the installation but they wouldn’t budge or do anything to make it right.There are tons of people in the store stacking boxes but only one very slow hitch mechanic. Lots of people. Little work. Very unimpressed.

I had a great experience with this u-haul location. I move quite a bit so Ive used many different services but this u-haul specifically was awesome. I showed up earlier (and later, ha) than my appointed time, but the staff were great. Very understanding, friendly, and helpful. Would absolutely recommend.

Preordered a truck. When picking it up I did not mind the 30 minute wait in line to get the keys I had been forewarned. Unfortunately they ran out of the truck I had ordered and had to figure out what to get me. I was able to get a truck and use it for the day. The next day I realized I was overcharged by a substantial amount and tried to get my money back. Unfortunately this location wont answer phone calls. Their back offices are very helpful though and they helped me get my refund. Go to a more professional location. If I could give less stars I would.

To some of them public interest is unimportant. I was also inconvenience to no avail. I really dont understand how you stay in business. I was kept on the phone for long periods of time. Then the call dropped. I had to call back. Your system is very frustrating maybe some can figure it out but there is some others that cannot. Poor job

The staff mischarged us for insurance after we declined, then told us they would refund when we turned the truck in. (They even wrote a note on the contract). Staff then said it wasnt possible when we returned. Thankfully phone customer service helped out. Dont hesitate to call them if this store gives you grief.We also tried to return some boxes and they wouldnt give a refund (just a credit) because we didnt have the original receipt even though THEY printed us a copy of the receipt.Dont expect reserved equipment to be available: we ended up with a different truck and had to buy a furniture dolly because they didnt have our reserved rental.It was really insulting after spending $2200+ to have these small requests denied. DO NOT TRUST THEM and make sure to give yourself extra time even when there is not a problem.

This is a good U-Haul location if you make an express reservation online and come early to pick up the truck. Jonathan Adjetey Jr was very helpful today and made the check out process smooth. A few of the other employees outside helped make the experience more efficient as well.

Had a truck reserved for a month, did an Online Check in, and when I got there had to wait 40 minutes just to tell me that they dont have a truck for me. They sent me to another Uhaul 30 minutes away. And the other Uhaul did not have furniture pads and other kits, so I was without those. Came back to original place but figured Ill have to wait at least another 40 minutes to get supplies. So I gave up. Try to find another place. This one is a risk!

One of the employees was not wearing a mask — indoors. I reserved two dollies and neither of them were available. Will not use this location again.Also Uhaul online check in is always terrible, but that isn’t a problem with this location specifically.

Worst nightmare experience: If inefficiency and poor quality are what youre looking for, Takoma Park Uhaul is the place to go. Make sure you get a decent insurance policy and read the details of the policy carefully -- you will likely need it.I am deeply disappointed in both the poor service and quality of the pod aka U Box rental from this location. I hired movers from Moving Help to retrieve the U Box and get it loaded up, and it took them two hours of waiting on location at Takoma Park despite my calling ahead to confirm it would be ready. I called the location during this time to see what was the hold up, but they kept me on hold until after the movers told me they already retrieved the U Box.Aside from the inefficient and unprofessional service, the U Box latch was broken upon delivery, which the Moving Help movers attempted to fix by screwing it back into the container. Given that we were already way behind schedule, this seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, the holes were apparently stripped and after loading the U Box and getting onto the road, the U Box opened mid-transit and many of my possessions spilled onto the highway. When I went to address the situation in person at the uhaul location, I waited over an hour (even when there was no more line, what gives?) to have this addressed by someone but they dismissed my concerns. I reached out to corporate for a response, but yet again poor service prevails.The U Box is set to arrive in a couple weeks but Im concerned that upon arrival many of my belongings will either be lost or damaged. I have yet to have this addressed by either the local Takoma Park Uhaul or the corporate Uhaul location.When it comes to pods or U boxes, save yourself the frustration, stress, and trouble -- just go elsewhere.P.s. While I was waiting, I met a nice man who was waiting for his hitch to be installed on his car. He shared that he had been waiting for five hours for this to be completed, and that this type of service is what hes come to expect from the location.

Absolutely the worst uhaul experience of my life happened right here at this Tacoma park location. I reserved a tow dolly and showed up on time just for them to tell me that it was not here and that none were available in the entire Baltimore/DC/northern VA area.... The corporate office put me on the phone with scheduling managers (children) who ultimately hung up on me twice, and accused me of being rude when I called a third time to get the corporate managers number from them. They even threatened me with their typed notes from our conversation, implying that a complaint to their manager would fall on deaf ears because they noted that I was very rude. Lol. I wish someone with some sense in their organization would listen to the recordings from my calls.

I went by this location on Monday around 4pm to attempt to pick up some boxes and packing materials. There were at least 10 random men hanging around the u-haul trucks parked in the lot that are there for people to rent. As I was trying to park, 2 of them came walking up to my car to my door trying to speak to me. As I looked visibly frustrated and just sat there in my vehicle, I assumed that they would leave me be, but of course they didn’t. I ended up driving off without going inside at all or even parking. If you’re a woman by yourself, I wouldn’t advise going to this location since there seems to be packs of random men roaming around the parking lot waiting to harass customers.

Very friendly associates. They take time to explain everything upto customers satisfaction.

The owner alfonzo charged me incorrectly. His employee caught the mistake but the owner disregarded it, stated he does not know. This prompted me to call customer service and get a $60 refund.Terrible store owner. Unnecessary time wasted when all he had to do was either trust his employee or double check. smh

Rental trucks here are generally in good conditions with no problems. If you want to refill the gas before you get back, there is a gas station right next door with decent prices. The only downside is that check-in and check-out tends to be slow, they never seem to have enough people on duty during the weekends--and thats when most people move!
