We’ve been here many times for Steel Challenge events and it’s always been great. The range bays are the best we’ve ever had the pleasure to use for a match. Plenty of shade, good rock and bays for days.

I was there for USPSA Nationals and had an absolute blast. Amazing facility.

This is easily the best shooting facility for civilians. The staff is always professional friendly and knowledgeable. CMP Park is the best dollar value for shooting, all day for $30. Electronic targets, nobody goes downrange and the range stays hot all day. This is also the safest facility I have been to, military or civilian.

One if the nicest ranges Ive been to. Have only shot F Class matches here on the 600yd range, but lots of other range options I definitely want to check out in the future.

The staff is always wonderful, friendly and answers all my questions. I havent had the pleasure of utilizing the ranges yet, but the signage gives directions to multiple ranges from pistol, skeet, and rifle up to what Ive seen 600 yards. The facilities are beautiful and the history in the displays make it even better.

Complete waste of time. Typical of government waste. Alot of people getting paid for doing a whole lot of nothing. No inventory. I would buy anything you are looking for off the internet, then go to a local range where your money would be better spent.

I go here most weekends. It is a great place to come and relax and practice. Great ranges and a great facility. Would have given 5 stars but they have some issues with the golf carts. I am not sure why. When I am toting 4 or 5 long rifles it seems that it would be easier if they didnt make you take the carts back and go up and down 4 flights of stairs. If these carts are such a problem they should just get rid of them or maybe hire someone from a golf course where they dont mind you keeping the cart until you are finished. Considering I spend between 200 and 400 every time I come, it shouldnt be too much to ask to have use of a cart for a hour or so. Seems rather ridiculous. Thanks for the heads-up. I would gladly rent a cart, no one at the desk has ever made that offer.

One of the best shooting facilities in the country! State of the art ranges with electronic targets. You can shoot for $10 an hour or all day for $30. The range officials are instructors and are always available to offer helpful advice to shooters of all levels.

Been here multiple times and they never disappoint. They just opened their new steel target range. Has animal and plate steel set anywhere from 25 to 625 yards. Had a blast shooting there and definitely make sure you bring a spotting scope! Went to each of the other ranges as well and are top notch as always!

Fantastic facility and good, friendly staff. Not a bad drive from Atlanta, but if it were closer I’d definitely come more often. Great place to spend the day with a group of friends. I’m amazed more people don’t know about it.

Spent the past weekend at the CMP on Range 2 refining my skills at 600 yards. The Range Safety Officers John, Steve, and Don were excellent as usual. John has helped me on numerous occasions as he monitors the range by providing critical critique of my technique and pointing out areas where I can improve. I can now consistently score X.9 about 50% of my shots with the rest in the x ring at 600 yards. Brought one of my coworkers with me who is new to rifle shooting but who has a background with shotguns. He was nothing but impressed with the help provided by the range staff. He did manage to sneak off however and get in a round of Five Stand. Looking forward to my next trip to the CMP; the 3.5 drive is worth it!!!!

We had a great time! Short and long range as well as pistol poles and other targets. Nice places to eat lunch we brought as well as restroom facilities. Its a beautiful place! Cant wait to get back and shoot some clays for the first time!

Shooting here is a great experience. The range is super safe and the staff make sure that inexperienced shooters get the knowledge they need to go home and see their loved ones. The pistol range is great but the staff is kinda lazy and not very knowledgeable. They sit in the A/C and let people shoot. This would be fine if I didnt feel like I was inconveniencing them by asking them to call a cold range so I can put targets up. The rifle range is great. They usually have two guys walking around helping people out. They are extremely knowledgeable about, well everything. The technology here is top notch.

If you like going to the range and doing some recoil therapy and you live within a driving distance of say, 2 hours to the Talladega Speedway. You are missing out on what is arguably, one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced gun ranges in the world. Plus the staff is very nice and the range officers are knowledgeable and not hesitant to chat with you.

This CMP facility is the most advanced shooting range available. Money well spent on training. Great equipment and even better staff. Very friendly and extremely professional. A fantastic place to shoot, bring your friends and family. My son and I have been here multiple times with NEVER a bad experience.

I always have a great time when i go. The facility is clean and modern. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. They maintain a family friendly environment. I have taken my 13 year old daughter multiple times. Its a great way to spend time with your family in a relaxing setting.

They give you a firearms safety course before you can fire your weapon at a target. Real nice target practice. Targets are automatically retrieved for you. Very nice learning center for firearm practice and safety. 100% guaranteed fun if you like shooting guns of all denominations. Shotguns, rifles, and pistols. Lots of literature.

WOW! Great Staff, Amazing Facility. Myself and 2 other went for the 1st time over the weekend. One of us is a novice in all forms of shooting. Every range officer was great. The guys at the US Steel practice were fantastic. They took timeout to give us tips to make us faster shooters.

Sunday (yesterday) was my 3rd time this year down to the range from Atlanta. Never been disappointed not one trip. But Sunday was a day I’d like to comment on. The staff always remembers my face and my crew of guys that’s makes the trip. But one especially always stands out Don Rutherford. He’s a class act. I crept on the 600yd range and he hadn’t seen me yet so he was making his rounds and when he saw me, he came over and hugged me lol and told me “not to be sneaking in like that” he gave this ole Marine a reminder of fundamentals at the 600yd line and helped me out and got me on track. He and John have no problem sharing their knowledge and passing it on and just conversing with myself and the crew. These are reasons I’ll return as often as time and money allow. Have always enjoyed my experiences at this range. Having been coming here for several years, sometimes just to shoot and others for various competitions. The staff is very knowledgeable and patient. ROs are experienced and very attentive while doing their best to ensure safe conduct on the range and protecting the equipment. John and the other guys on the long distant range are always great to have around and dont mind helping people out.Will keep coming back!

Great experience. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. If you want to shoot outdoors, it is great. Safety was forefront, which I liked. And anybody who is tired of trying to peer thru a used range scope will be impressed with taking a shot and looking over and seeing where your round hit without really having to move your head much. The system is really great!

This is the nicest shooting range Ive ever used. The 100 yard range as well as the range with 200, 300, and 600 yard targets are all electronic. Its so nice to be able to sit at the bench and just shoot instead of having to reset targets constantly. I cant wait until we get some ranges like this in Ohio! I would come here exclusively if I lived nearby.

I went to CMP about 2 weeks ago on a work outing. Everyone at CMP is extremely friendly and helpful. We shot at the pistol range on day one and had so much fun we came back to the skeet course and 600 yard rifle range. This place is like Disneyland for guns. Its amazing!

Beautiful range, excellent facilities, attentive staff. Most technologically advanced range in the country, we spent 20 hours over three days, we utilized about every range on the property, all were clean, well kept, all the range facilities are top notch, nothing is half done no corner is cut. Most impressive range Ive ever seen. Sporting clays were challenging and fun and beautiful, rifle ranges were the most technologically advanced Ive ever seen, check this out of you get a chance.

This place is not beginner-friendly. They do not have any guns for rent, the mandatory video is full of highly technical jargon, and the targets start at 50 and up. A beginner handgun shooter needs closer targets.

I met some of the really great staff and shot the latest and greatest most technically advanced targets available.The staff were exceptional: from Sarah who greets you with a friendly smile at the check-in desk, to some of the RSOs like Michael Bean, Danny, and Mike S and John B. toname a few, who are so incredibly accommodating. It was refreshing to watch how they cared for and interacted with shooters of all skill levels.I am a certified Small Arms Weapons Instructor (USMC) and an Expeditionary Small Arms Instructor (USN) and have decades of instructor experience with military, Law Enforcement, and Civilians teaching the shooting skills. I have been fortunate to shoot at some of the really well run ranges in the country. I am seriously considering moving to AL. I only hope they have an opening on the staff for a retired ole Master Gunnery Sergeant.Dont forget to shop at the Pro Shop where you can get expert advice and just about anything you need for the shooting sports.Make plans to visit the best kept secret in the shooting sports.Stay safe and shoot true😎.

I have been to this facility many times and have never had the experience I had today. The RO at the 600 yard range, John, was extremely rude to myself and friends on multiple occasions. Not sure if he was upset about having to stop shooting with his friend on the end of the range or if it’s just how John is. This was enough to ensure I will be taking my money and friends elsewhere in the future. Horrible experience. Like I said before, I’ve been here multiple times before and had a great time. My recommendation would be to get rid of John and replace him with someone who actually knows how to be a decent person.

Best sporting clays any where. Great facility for sales meeting or other corporate events. Gun care and safety is stressed. Rifle and pistol ranges are state of the art and first class.

I use the pistol range about every 6 weeks. The facilities are the best and the staff helpful and knowledgeable. I consider myself very fortunate to live as close as I do. We will be making a trip there today to work my wifes new toys, Sig P938 and M400. Hope to see you folks there.

Rude staffJust because someone isnt shooting like Carlos Hathcock does NOT give your employees the right to make someone feel like they dont belong at your range. That guy was incredibly rude and needs to be fired or better trained. I WASNT EVEN SHOOTING! It was my father trying to sight in his new scope. But heaven forbid that someone posts a negative review online about this place, they will sick the dogs on you, stalking your social media, harassing you and your family because you spoke the truth. even after I deleted the review on Facebook for their benefit (I should post it again after all the sh*t theyve done since, its crazy) they are still attacking and stalking me online. Real classy place. Real classy people. AGAIN, this had nothing do with my father not being able to move up to 600, it was the incredibly rude guy at the long distance range. Everything else thats theyve done since my initial review is unbelievable. The epitome of unprofessional and leaning towards criminal. Keep it up and I will be seeking legal action. Very modern facilities that are very spacious. Modern tech really assists with the need to go down range all the time to see paper since its all instantaneous and electronic.

This is a review after my second visit. This is a great, safe, well-kept place to shoot. With the electronic Kongsberg Target System, you get immediate feedback of how well you missed the target! All joking aside, great staff. They spent quite some time to sight in my less-than-ideal rifle, and gave me some great tips that had me hitting the target nicely!We only used the 100yd rifle range, and the non-electronic pistol range. They have another pistol range, with electronic targets, that Ill try out once I can get proficient enough to qualify on that range.The clubhouse is pretty nice. Decent, but not stellar ammo prices at Creedmoor, however it is higher quality ammo than what I typically shoot.The only thing I have to hold against them is that its not near my house. :P Would love it to have been closer to home.

I’m considering moving to Alabama to be closer to this place, the range technology is a game changer, the people there were fantastic - I literally thought it was my birthday I was so excited ..., I bought a world war 2 M-1 garand from them . Can’t wait to come back here again and again .

I have been attending this range it was open today 12/23 /16 was the absolute worst experience I ever have had at this range. the range officer rudely instructed me that the targets cost $1,800 and since I was not hitting is 0 minutes of angle that he was not going to allow me to burn up their targets. Havent been treated with such disregard in my entire life. After deciding to leave and ask for a refund on my money I was told by the GM he could not do so. At one point I would brag on this place describing how nice it was how friendly the employees were at this point I will never return. My son and I were called Liars and treated like trash. They absolutely stole the $45 fee which I paid to shoot on that range I would not recommend anyone attending this place

This is a great facility for the shooting sports. I used the multi-purpose bays for an IDPA match and the pistol range, both superb! What impressed me the most was the rifle range. The displays determine your groupings at 200, 300 & 600 yds.

One word, OUTSTANDING! ! !Its usually a bear for me to go to the range with my sons, I never end up getting to shoot.Not the case here! These range masters are at the top of thier game, patient and knowledgeable .They helped my boys and me get our shots exactly where we wanted them The are not pushy or overbearing If you want thier help, they help, period. I cant say enough about them The site is FIRST CLASS! We showed up with a dozen men and another of boys and didnt feel for a minute that we had overwhelmed them Total class, just amazing. It truly is a world class range. Thank you CMP Talladega !!! Well be back!

Almost a perfect range. Staff and safety precautions are top notch. Things you may not know: you have to have a gun case and you need a safety bolt lock for the chamber- no big deal they sell the safety lock there for a buck. The real disappointment was there is no quarter or half dollar mark on the targets for you to have a consistent point of aim in which to be scored off of I.e it’s a 10inch black circle and you line your crosshairs up in the middle of the Target and let it fly. Sorry but when I shoot I need too know what kind of groups Iam shooting with consistency. 400, 500 and 700-1000 yard targets would also be nice when preparing for long distance hunts. However, I was informed after shooting I could have paid $15 per Target, for a Target to be placed for me at each range increment. I guess I should have paid the money. I enjoyed the trip and will be back.

Visited the CMP Range, Talledega, AL yesterday and must say the facility and staff are AWESOME - truly world class. More than anything, I appreciate the very strong emphasis on range and firearm safety. We shot rifles on the 200 yard range (i.e. Range #1) and the electronic targets seemed superb - very user friendly and intuitive. We will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend the Talledega CMP Marksmanship Range to anyone wishing to avoid the chaos typically encountered at public shooting ranges.
