Ill start at the beginning. I have never had a tattoo before. I was looking for something specific ( a sports tattoo) I contacted Jeff the owner and he put me in touch with Kyle Lambert. Well let me tell you my experience from the beginning ( the design) to the end (the aftercare) could not have been better! Kyle listened to everything I had to say, he never minimize anything!!!! I got tattooed by Jak a day ago and I am absolutely IN LOVE with it! Jak was extremely nice and professional, he even touched up/fixed my tattoo above the butterflies that had been messed up by another shop. If you’re looking for a place to get tattooed, Bay City Tattoos is the place to go!!

Went in to mostly get a design sketched out and priced, had a small hope that possibly I could get a tattoo done the same night, but was prepared to have to come back. John agreed to do it right away, drew me a beautiful design - it was just as I pictured it in my head - and quoted me a really fair price. I’m so so so happy with my new tattoo and John’s service and talent! If I knew how to post a picture, I would. My tattoo is so lovely and makes my heart happy.

I got new tattoo from Jak..first time with him and this shop, he did an amazing job listened to me made sure It was exactly how I wanted it and would be happy with it. I will definitely be going back to him very soon.

I went here to get a cartilage piercing with friends and I was told that they only pierce with a hoop. I simply told my friends I wasn’t going to get one because my cartilage doesn’t heel right when I get it with a hoop, as I have prior experience with it. One of the piercers over heard and told me that a hoop is the best way to get your cartilage pierced which I know is simply not true. He then proceeded to tell us to go to Claire’s if we wanted to get a stud pierced because no tattoo shops pierce with studs. He was very rude and did not seem to be educated as every tattoo shop I have gone to has told me to get my cartilage pierced with a stud as the hoop will move around to much and let bacteria in. Also the Claire’s comment was not needed as they pierce with a gun and you should never use guns for piercings. Very rude and unprofessional I will never go back.

So I have to say the tattoo I got came out ok.The problem is, its not even close to what I wanted or asked for and the artist didnt reference the photos I showed him AT ALL. Very frustrating.If he couldnt do that kind of work or didnt want to he shouldve just said so and I wouldve found somewhere else that could. But its just all about the $$$ for some ppl.Anyway. Im very disappointed and regretful and I know I shouldve just walked out before the tattoo got started. But its done now.

I have been getting tattoos from Bay City Tattoos for over a decade. I recently had two completed by Jeff that came out fantastic! I generally bring in custom art work and then discuss with Jeff his thoughts. He brings a creative vision to my ideas and they have all turned out great.Great artist!I have brought in a number of friends and family for tattoos and they have all left satisfied. John is a very talented artist as well.Very clean and comfortable shop. Always a great experience and reasonably priced.Cant wait for my next trip back!

My wife and I both have been using this shop for some time now. Jeff has been our artist, my wife has gotten a piece on her wrist and arm, both came out amazing! I am having a back piece done which has is looking great thus far as well! I hope to be in soon to have work resumed, unfortunately life has gotten in the way lately. Anyhow, I highly recommend this shop. The staff is friendly, accommodating and the prices are fair! I encourage you to give them a shot if youre considering a tattoo.

John is great at coming up with imaginitive, awesome art off simple ideas by implementing the theme or look you want. And he picks up on little things you might say and will make c. He definitely isnt your basic, plain jane artist and he makes it a fun experience. I mean he spent 3 hours drawing up my girlfriends tattoo and threw out so many ideas we never even thought of. And with all that time he spent on the design and work itself, he gave us a hell of a deal for the size of it. Finnaly found a artist that we really connected with and he will be our go to now for sure..

Worst piercing experience I have ever had. I went in to get a second cartilage piercing and I was told that I had to be pierced with a hoop. Despite things I have read online about the negativities of doing so, I went a long with it because the piercer sounded like he knew what he was talking about. They also had me pay BEFORE the service was completed which I found very odd, so there was no going back. Afterwards the piercing remained red, sore and bloody for about a week despite proper cleaning. I know this can be common but I had a feeling something was wrong because I never had this issue with my previous cartilage piercing which was done with a stud. I ended up walking into another shop a week later and asked them for their advice on the jewelry and they were shaking their heads upon the use of the hoop as well as the cheap materials. They ended up changing out the earring for me to a small stud, carefully to avoid too much irritation.

A few weeks ago I got a septum done by Jeff and it came out really nice. The aftercare instructions he gave me were really straight forward and it was an overall great experience.

Jeff is awesome at what he does. Hes honest and takes time to listen to your ideas, provides feedback and is very fair. I have 3 tattoos by him and about to add one more soon and I have not been to any other artist. My black and grey daisy was a free hand and spontaneous tattoo that came out amazing and I have a started half sleeve that always gets noticed! My husband also had his black and grey Harley Davidson tattoo done. He takes his time and doesnt rush through his work. Ill always recommend him to anyone! Thanks Jeff!

I got my Monroe done and it looks good. I got my piercing done by Jak and it was fast and almost painless. Hes really the best at what he does. Very professional and skilled. It just felt like a pinch. I will definitely be coming back for a nose piercing after this heals. It swelled up pretty bad but I came back and they happily changed it for me for free. It feels a lot better and its helping nicely. Ill definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.

We read all the reviews and reviewed all of the artists portfolios online before arriving to Bay City Tattoos so we knew when we walked in that any of the artists would be great. Went in with my boyfriend for him to get his first tattoo and ended up needing to get another one! Steve at the shop was super friendly and has a traditional style with tattooing, which is exactly what I love. He was very open to my tattoo idea and made an awesome sketch for me to get the tat I love! I have been a lot of places where I dont find the people working there friendly, but here I felt very comfortable. My tattoo from Steve came out better than I could have imagined! I’m sorry But the tattoo I got last night at 1:30 a.m by Jeff was not good in my opinion and I’m saying that as a person who has paid for quality work.. The previous work I saw Jeff do was actually good! But I feel as if he just didn’t put any effort into mine last night for whatever reason.

Fantastic experience- went in to get my nose pierced and didnt really know what to expect. Jak was great and super helpful. will definitely go back the next time I want anything pierced :)

Very unprofessional, the artist never gave me a set time and kept putting off my appointment. I was told to come in at 12 noon and the artist himself did not come till 12:45 so I did not have faith that the it would be a quality tattoo. Didn’t seem very knowledgeable and the price was cheap witch on top of everything made me think it would be low quality

My piercer was great. Totally forgot her name though! I went to Tampa for bush gardens and decided to finally get the demand on my arm Ive been wanting for months. I felt pressured not to get it because of all the horror stories Im assuming the piercer heard which was awkward because Im confident that it would work it just fine on my skin considering Ive had over 15 dermals on my skin but I guess that didnt help convince her I still wanted it lol.she was CLEAN! one thing I look for is confidence in my piercer because it shows me that she knows what shes doing and shes gonna do a damn good job at it. She did a perfect job! She went just deep enough under my skin. The jewelry fits perfect as you can see in the photo. It took about 3 weeks to heal. Great people clean joint excellent work. I wish I was closer so I can do my other arm with her! Go for the girl with the black hair

Ok. So the guy who did my tattoo was nice. But within 3 hours of the tattoo being finished. I developed an infection. And three days later ended up in the ER because of the infection. Not cool

Just went here today with my dad to get a couple matching tattoos, we had Jak. It was a walk-in and he took us right away. Very detail oriented, helpful and got the Hebrew script perfectly (as well as a beautiful font). Clean area and a really cool guy. Highly recommend.

OK so Ive been to this place before and didnt have an issue at all, loved the work and professionally done. Recently walked in and was greeted they asked can I help you I said yes I wanted a piercing and they told me the price I said ok fine. There was one customer in front of me waiting on her tattoo. So after they took her upstairs a few more people walked in and started talking to the guy behind the counter and eventually there were served before I was in less than 5 mim there were given their consent form and so on.I almost feel as if it was discrimination I sit there like is this really happening... I sat there about 20 min waiting needless to say I just got up and walk out and took my business to an establishment who were a little more professional. So never will I return. I rather spend my money where customers like me feel comfortable and where the business appreciated its customers.

I walked into Bay City Tattoos to get a Sternum Microdermal. The staff was very friendly, as soon as you walk in its nice and calm. I only waited less than 10 mins until I was sent upstairs and I was greeted by Jeff. He had 2 people sit in who were learning how to perform dermal piercing. Jeffs method was quick and the least painful way to get a dermal. He was very informative as well. It was $55 which is much cheaper than the other shops in Ybor. I highly recommend going here for this procedure.

Great people in their. Although Im not 100% happy with my tattoo... I still love it. I just got something spur the moment. My tatt is nice and smooth and coloring looks good. I wish I had more time to detail my tattoo, but hey its what I get for coming in 30mins before theyre about to close. I dont know who that dude was that did it(he wasnt fat just a little bit bigger than everybody else tho), but he did a good job on it. The cost was very reasonable. Id go back.

My twenty year old daughter recently got a tattoo here and the next day on our (seven hour drive back home) red streaks started going up her arm from the tattoo sight. She contacted the store as to what she should do and no one responded. 😡 As the streaks continued up her arm I finally pulled over at an urgent Care center in the middle of nowhere to have it looked at. They said she had gotten a bacteria infection in her blood stream from the tattoo and received a strong antibiotic shot in her rump and was given ten days worth of antibiotics along with a prescription strength Ibuprofen. They said if we waited much longer she would have been in the hospital and it could have been very serious. Im thankful I have the kind of relationship with my daughter that I knew about the tattoo and what was going on. Im upset that the tattoo parlor didnt get back in touch with her to let her know she needed to go to a doctor immediately. If she hid it from me it all could have ended very differently. Im very disappointed that she got a bacterial infection from this shop and the lack of customer service support they exhibited. I have lots of friends and family with tattoos and Im sad to say I wont be recommending this shop to anyone.

My spouse and I have both had work done by Jeff and have referred many other people there as well. He really enjoys doing special pieces rather than picking the boring page 11, picture 22 type of thing. Go in there with an idea and an open mind and Jeff n the staff will turn that into more than you would ever imagine. I thought being in Ybor that they would be more expensive and they really werent. Quality costs money but they are extremely reasonable. Very personable, very respectful, very light touch, very precise. You just cant ask for more.
