This place has it all! We first went to Bass Pro to get the new Shimano C5000XG reel and the clerk there told us that he hasnt seen it in a while so we were out of luck - or so I thought. On Amazon, it was $50 more expensive and would take a week to get to us so we called Tampa Bay Outfitters and they had it in stock and for the MSRP. We headed over there and although a little far out, we were going to be on that side of town anyways so it all worked out.We were greeted and helped right away. The people there were great and the store is filled with all the fishing stuff that you can imagine. They were very helpful and got us in and out. I highly recommend this place if Bass Pro does not have what you need or just head out here anyway because they probably have it!

TLDR: Great service and knowledgeable staff.I always have fantastic service here. Today I bought two pairs of shoes but have also bought my MOAB Midcalfs here too.My dude Matt had all the answers and worked with me to determine what type of shoe I wanted/needed and expertly identified 4-5 pairs that should suit my needs.I ended up loving two of them so much I got them both.Carries keen, Merrel, Obos, salomon, and barefoot shoes. Numerous pack options and various gear. Can do special orders, just ask!

I was not having luck finding a good hiking shoe before I visited Tampa Bay Outfitters. The staff are very knowledgeable and the manager very kindly explained her own experience re: sizing to help me decide which pair and size was right for me. Im very happy with my purchase, shoes were great for recent trip to Yellowstone.

We drove over an hour to get my husband a pair of Vibram Fivefinger shoes because we have not been able to find them anywhere else. Jeremy helped us and was very patient and helpful in finding the right pair for him. This is a great store with kind and helpful employees. We highly recommend.

This review is long overdue. Went in early March to grab some trail sneaks. Aegan (sp?) was super helpful. Im a huge pain in the ass and take forever deciding and he was more than patient. Literally tried on every sneak in the building. He was AWESOME. Ended up special ordering and he had them shipped to my house. Great shoes, great service. Thanks so much will be back!

I love love LOVE this store! They have great shoes and tons of knowledge! They really want to help you and make sure you get what you need. The girl that works there is SO much fun! Sadly, I found out she is leaving at the end of the year. You should hustle down there and let her help you before she goes! If you are in the market for shoes that take care of your feet and you are super conscious about supporting small, local businesses like we are, this is a perfect place to check that box! We drive all the way from Hudson just for that reason.

I always have a difficult time finding shoes that fit properly, so I was more than willing to drive an hour in the hopes that Id have better luck here. The staff was very helpful. Definitely worth the drive for me. Highly recommended.

New to hiking we needed to get some info on a planned Camino trip to Europe. We needed to look at equipment and talk to someone knowledgeable about hiking long distances. We found that person at Tampa Bay Outfitters! Chelsea, was a wealth of information. She spent a lot of time with us going over types of hiking gear we are going to need. We need everything because weve never done anything other than some 10K runs and half Marathons. Weve never planned a 30 day trip outside the country and Chelsea had the information we needed. We will be back for shoes and packs in the next few weeks so we can start our training program. This place is really great and they have everything from clothes, to backpacks, to shoes, to accessories. Great place, if your at all thinking about any type of hiking trip check them out!

Was looking for a hiking boot for an Alaska trip. Had no idea what I wanted but the staff was so helpful. Tried on a number of shoes and finally found a pair that was comfortable. Cannot recommend Tampa Bay Outfitters enough. Customer service was the best I have experienced in a long time.

Pretty much the only place in Tampa that carries a decent selection of hiking/camping/backpacking gear and essentials. Although the store is small I must commend them on the selection of merchandise they choose to stock on the showroom floor. Basically all that you would need to outfit yourself for the trip.Although they would not be able to compete with a big box store style outfitter they do a great job and fill a niche not really accommodated for in Tampa.They also have a good variety of hiking shoes, packs and clothing.The staff is friendly, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and eager to assist you. This is a great place to start looking for your gear!

The service is amazing. They always remember us when we go in and they ask us about our upcoming trips. The prices are occasionally higher than online, however you get to try on the equipment here and that is the most important part of outdoor equipment. I highly recommend stopping in and taking a look around.

Awesome collection of really high-quality hiking and camping equipment! I love supporting the local shop versus going to one of the big box retailers. Though, understandably, the selection is less than you might find at those larger stores, the prices are right on par with others. In addition, we had fantastic service from a group of experienced salespeople and hikers. They offered some solid suggestions, and we could not be more pleased!

Great experience at Tampa Bay Outfitters. Extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell. Had a particularly good experience buying hiking boots. Staff was patient fitting me in 7 or 8 different styles before finding the perfect fit. Its just a fun place to shop. Look forward to going back.

Other than the stores smallest size... I am super impressed with their assortment. They have North Face, Patagonia, Mountain Khaki and Howler Bros brands. I would not call call them an over the top outitter, but there was lot if gear here I would want. Need a Christmas present for a outdoorsy girl or guy... this is the place.

It was the day before my trip overseas when I realized amazon sent me the wrong sized backpack. With the day I had, I was not able to come any sooner than a minute of closing. I was that person, but Jake and Chelsea treated me like a welcomed guest. They are very knowledgeable about their products. After hearing their recommendation on my Osprey and using it, I have them to thank for helping me get my perfect backpack!

I came in for a pair of boots and to outfit a trip down to South America. Over the several trips I made to the store for what I needed, every staff member there was extremely friendly and helpful. Most importantly however, they were all experienced in using most of the gear sold in the store and knew what they were talking about and what to recommend, making the advice they gave during my visits much more valuable. I would definitely recommend checking out the store because of the great staff and the quality of the equipment they sell.

So, Im not an outdoorsy guy. Sure I enjoy hiking and camping but Im not the type of guy who goes into these kinds of stores. My wife is nudging me, well forcing me to do a thru-hike with her so I guess Im going to have to start liking these sort of places.My wife and I went in a couple of weeks ago because she, I mean we, wanted to look for trail runners. (Apparently there are different shoes for trail running? Yeah... totally not my thing...) The associates in the store were super friendly and they took a lot of time explaining different products. I didnt realize so much thought went into just walking and carrying a backpack.Anyhow, after that massive knowledge session, Im actually pretty excited for this thru-hike. We will be back many times in the coming months to buy gears Im sure. We are fortunate to have such a store nearby with super helpful associates.

Great place for hiking boots and camelbacks. I do a ton of stuff outdoors and this is probably the best place in Tampa I could find. Prices were competitive with online but service of this place could not be beat. They helped me find the pair of boots that are rugged yet comfortable.
