Love their garden shop! Bernice and Donna always take care of you and Bernice is super knowledgeable on all her plants. You can also find hardware here that the big box stores dont carry.

Alway a great place to find what you need for that do it yourself at home project. I like the home town feel compared to the big box store.

Visiting this location is always interesting. I went to get a kind of specialized lamp bulb and left with a back seat full of plants and flowers. They were however able to order my bulb for me even though they didnt have anything in the store that would work. All of the plants and flowers were half priced even though the gentleman that was outside working in that area didnt know anything about a sale. Luckily for me the young lady at the register knew and that allowed me to purchase a couple more plants. Its always a friendly environment and its a local store.

I love the fact that you can phone and have a “real person “answer your call. Will be my go to hardware store now even though I have a big box hardware store less that 5 minutes from my home.

I was searching for a Christmas Tree that Ace Hardware sells and not one store in Raleigh or anywhere close to Raleigh had the tree I wanted in stock. It had to be ordered. No store even had one in the store to view. I found the tree in Tarboro and decided to take a road trip. I found the tree I wanted and also something else for my yard. Just wanted to thank the employees for being so nice, friendly, and helpful. It was worth the drive because I found what I wanted and I felt good making my purchase at a store that values its customers. Thank you!

Excellent and expert service! I needed a new storm door handle to replace a decades old recently broken latch. I proceeded immediately to Ace to see if they had something that help. After a prompt and friendly greeting from the staff who inquired how they could help, I showed them the broken lock. They located the exact same model that I needed instantly. I spent less than 3 minutes and left with exactly what I needed, for $20! I highly recommend them as your first stop for any and all hardware needs!

Good hardware store to get stuff from for local shopping. It didnt have what I was looking for and doesnt have as much as other Ace stores I been to.

I walked into this store yesterday and the employee (young white female) at the cash register was very nasty and rude and wouldn’t allow the other employee to come and help me with the items that I came to purchase that would have equaled up to at least $300.00 or a little more. As the other employee (young white male) turn to come towards me to help she called him back and tells him No u cannot help her! And so I asked what is the reason that he cannot help me? Even he looks confused at this moment and wanted to help again but he obeyed her command and stood at the register. So she said he cannot help u because it supposed to be both of us at the register (let me remind you it was no customers at the register or in the store at this time) So I told her I guess I had to be white in order to get service so I’ll go to another store and I did call the manager and he thanked me for calling and apologized for this and said he would have a “talk” with her. I’ll never go back to this store ever again.

Went in last week. Wife is from Tarboro. Lived here 58 years.i wanted to go down the road but to accomodate my wife, I went in looking for a step ladder. Didnt have what I wanted in stock, and while I was trying to make my mind up the associate was looking around and acting like he wanted to be as far away from us as he could. Very impersonable and standoffish. Short fella with red hair. My wife says hes worked there foreverOne bitten twice shy? Apparently not me. Went back today per my wifes begging, and attempted to purchase a cheap mower for trim work. I walked in, and sure enough the man behind the counter had no idea what mowers were even out there. I mean, theres only like 3 or 4. Anyway, as I attempted to ask a question, he was acting very nervous and pushy. Very rudely told me what I said didnt mean anything and he needed a number (same red haired man). As I was trying to explain what I wanted he kept nervously saying Ill get someone out there sir, just wait outside. Said that about 3 times. Walked outside. Waited. Waited some more....9 minutes....hmmmm.Oh well, theres the proof dear wifey, they were rude and couldnt care less if I was in that store with my cash in hand or not.. The so called Helpful Hardware Folks aint at this store buddy, trust me. So,I took the extra 25 box, went to Lowes and ran into Alex, a long time employee who almost dragged me outside to show me all the mowers. He had more product knowledge than either 2 of the Ace folks by a long shot and then some.Needless to say, Lowes got my cash that day.Maybe Ace is the place in Tarboro, but let me tell ya, if they dont recognise you and your money, well, youre on your own.A popcorn machine and the smell wafting is great, but it dont replace customer service and product knowlege
