Drove through Taylorville and my car started having serious issues and Matthew got me right in despite the fact that everybody else was booked into next month. He got us fixed up very quickly and on our way & didn’t charge us for the time. Would recommend them to anyone as they seem like a very honest group of people!

NO STARS!!!!!! AS AN AUTO MECHANIC... THE WORST ONE EVER AND IM 53. AND CUSTOMER SERVICE... I CANNOT REPEAT THE WORDS YELLED AT ME AS I WAS TRYING TO GET MY CAR TOWED TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AS MY CAR SAT OVER 2 WEEKS AFTER PAYING 60 TO GET IT THERE. SAID THE TIMING CHAIN WAS ORDERED BUT COULDNT PRODUCE A TRACKING NUMBER. WENT THIS MORNING TO TOW CAR BUT CHARGED ME 90 DOLLARS BEFORE I COULD GET IT TOWED. HE TOLD ME TO GET THE *** OUT OF HERE AND GOT IN MY FACE TO TELL ME AGAIN. I DIDNT MOVE. HE CHANGED FROM CC TO CASH TO GIVE ME A HARDER TIME FINALLY PAID HIM AND HE WOULDNT MOVE THE CAR THAT BLOCKED MINE IN FOR TOW TILL 30 MIN LATER. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER GO TO MATTHEWS AUTOMOTIVE IN TAYLORVILLE EVER TIMES INFINITY.

Owner is obviously untrustworthy if he repeatedly breaks his word to customers. Need an oil change? Come here. Need an honest mechanic? Anywhere but here.

Overpriced and very unprofessional. Uses used parts but charges for new price. And cant show you the old parts he took off.Save your money and time. Stay far far far away from this crook.

Very ruff experience. I went to Greg in a panick google led me to him. My truck needed a thermostat and radiator hoses... He went through the run telling me it was my head and it would cost more than the truck was worth. He said I can get you a new motor and have it right in. Estimated 1036 for the motor and he would need that up front... so I did.. Never estimated the work never gave me any paper work on the motor. I agreed seeing how I was in strange place traveling with my child and after his spill I felt I had no choice. 5 days later and 490 bucks on weeks stay at a local hotel after calling and texting without any sort of reply. I finally get him to talk to me. So nice and kind untill he got another 1000 out of me. Then the man completely changed after I told him I didnt feel that this was legit and I had questions. He started yelling and threatening me he said Im locking your truck up and heading to house after taking my money..... So I had someone from the hotel take me over to his shop I wanted to test drive and check it I wanted proof of the miles you know maybe then vin number but no why would a reasonable business man give a customer he stole 2000 from any paper work. The locals told me he was no good and had a bad reputation after the fact. The new motor has oil in the plug wells. Valves chatter like Ive never heard one in my life and the mechanic hooked it all back up as s backward the oil week for the dip stick is bent and barley takes the stick.Do not take you vehicle here. The man said he already had my motor so it took him 9 hrs to out the junk one in. He charged 80 bucks an hour hahahahah he aint worth 2

Awesome people at Matthews Automotive, My 2013 Sprinter van broke down in town on a Saturday morning, I called Greg and he said they would take care of me and they did . Greg and his crew not only repaired my van they also gave me a ride back into town to grab some breakfast. Greg and his crew did a great job on my van and the cost was less than i expected it to be . I will say Matthews Automotive was the best service i have ever received in customer service, job performance and cost of repairs .
