Staff didnt seem to know to much about their own store

We live by one closer to us but we prefer this store. Staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Love the daily deals!

Ths store is just ok. No help in finding the 10% online coupon, nor did the cashier offer to help find a discount.

I arrived at the store last night Saturday about 6:30 and was greeted at the door by four employees they asked if they could help me I said yes Im here to look at shoes and I stood around in the store for 15 minutes as the only customer and no one could come help me not at shoes not at the ammo counter nowhere in the store would they come and help me the whole time the two guys and two girls stood by the registers and chatted after 15 minutes of frustration I carried the shoe display I would have liked to have had them find for me and handed it to the tall guy of the four of them chatting at the register and told him I would NEVER be back TO THEIR STORE. Im in a big five store every couple weeks and this store has always been the worst of the 4 I frequent even though its close to the house. The sad part is one of them was probably an assistant manager and yet they were too busy talking amongst themselves to even check on the only customer in the store for 15 minutes. They could have cared less as their chit chat was more important. Their failure to realize that consumers get to choose where they shop what they buy and how much is spend for it will cost them even more customers ..

Not the biggest store but they definitely have little bit of everything from balls,weights, skateboards, pool stuff and so on. Will find almost everything you would find in any othe sporting goods store, even kayaks and rafts. Driving by it doesnt look huge but their inventory is good,they will not disappoint.

When you walk into the store the 2 customer service reps just glare at you and then go back to chatting. Service sucks!! Good deals on athletic shoes.

Came in today to get a couple new pairs of sneakers. I just want to say weve been shopping Big 5 for over 15 years and Im disappointed to say today will quite possibly be the last time we ever step foot inside of one.An employee who did not give his name (Grey hair, Glasses, middle-aged) very OPENLY got an attitude and became short when asked if he could check for a different size in the back. In the process of finally doing that only after hed had a fit, another person asked him to check on a different item and audibly exclaimed Youve gotta be kidding me! for all of us to hear.Yes, I deeply understand that life and work are stressful, especially right now. But that doesnt mean you get to take it out on everyone else. Everyone is stressed. Everyone is tired.If you cant say anything nice or just even attempt to be respectful and patient, either dont come into work until you can or find a different job completely.If you cant control and manage your own emotions enough to speak to clients and customers at the very least in a normal way, then working in sales is not for you.

Small store, great prices though. We went for hiking boots for the family and found some for all 5 of the kids .

The staff were friendly and helpful. They let me try on a knee brace which I bought. The prices were fair. I will be coming back to this location in the future.

Ive shopped here multiple times, staff are generally friendly and helpful. Product selection for most categories is decent, often with a variety of brands represented in some capacity. Depending on what youre looking for, you might want to be opportunistic with sales. Recently, employees assisted me with the purchase of a more expensive item. Everything went smoothly and I got exactly what I needed.

I love this store and I always want to buy everything. one of the staff was following me very closely to make sure I wasnt stealing, so I stayed for like 3 hours just to mess with him. It was only fair after he profiled me.

Manager had an attitude when I asked about Big 5s return policy. I had my receipt and I ask him what if I didnt have my I.D. I didnt need I.D. to make a purchase, so if I have my receipt why do I need to show my I.D.

I purchased some water pistols, the package says they go 30 feet; in reality they hardly went 5 feet and my kids were very disappointed. I tried to return, but I was told they could not accept the return as they are not resellable; which makes no sense why Big-5 would want to resell a defective product?? Buyer be careful what you purchase and good luck returning it.

These guys are great! They dont always have the best prices on ammo, at times a dollar or more high per box. But their selection on guns and camping equipment is very good. More than once when I go in to shop, if their price is just a bit high . . . . the manager will give me his employee discount to save me from going to the other store. . . . . Again these guys deserve more than 5 stars. We LOVE Big 5 Sporting Goods.

Very stuffed with displays. Went to buy a top-notch sand volleyball. All they had was low-end volleyballs. Bought a small pump for $10. Saw it at Walmart for $5 the next day.

Great place for shoes

This is conveniently located across from the best location of Frys Grocery Stores. There is a lot of good deals but the staff was not at all helpful to me during my visit. Employees dont seem to understand that it is their job to kindly help people with their shopping experience at their store. Not to look annoyed when someone has a question, and only provide some blow off answer. Customers are supposed to leave feeling like stopping there was a good idea . Not wishing we hadnt.

Went in looking for 22lr manager said he none when it said they did online. His friends literally walks in after that. And pulls out the ammo he didn’t have and sold it to his buddy

Yeah Ive been having a shopping spree here lately, great sales weekly for quality products, got a tactical bag that normally would be 3x more off amazon. And everything I need to go fishing. Customer service is top notch and I enjoy going there.

Just look at this place. This place has been around here for ages. This place has been here for a long while. Big 5 Sporting Goods is a one stop shop for all sorts of sports related hobbies you may have gotten yourself in to. This location has such a cool old building feel to it.

This place has a wide range of merchandise for every product.Rifles not so much but they mightve just been sold out.the prices were about the same as anywhere else.

Ive been going to this Big 5 for about a decade. Ive never had a bad experience. Their prices are fair if not better than other sporting goods stores. The employees have always been friendly and extremely helpful- never pushy.

The location is great, the store was well organized, but a couple of the employees could use some additional customer service training. The manager and one associate by the name of Brianna turned my customer service experience back around. Overall, the store is a good place to shop.

There sales are great. I got there Smith at Wesson tactical boots for half price. The staff are always very helpful.

The place seems a bit drab from the outside and in the inside, it felt a bit messy. However, the messy factor has to be due to all the people that browse their items and things could get knocked out of place....I didnt care too much for their clothing, but I was able to get some other workout items here at a decent price. The associates working here were very helpful in finding what I needed as well. Rather than just pointing, they walked me to the right aisle and even made sure I found what I needed before walking away. Great job guys! :D

Toward a brand new pair of lugs for $27.85 after tax and everything

I like Big 5 Sport goods. They have pretty much everything the big sports stores have without it being overwhelming and over priced!! The people working there are knowledgeable and friendly. Chances are that theres a Big 5 store somewhere fairly close to you. Try it youll like it!!

I had bought 2 life jackets for my daughters because we where going to a swimming party and they can’t swim. Who knew this would be monsoon weekend and my girls were not able to use them so I decided to take them back. I went to the store last night to return them and sent my daughter in first, she 15 so I figured she wouldn’t have any issues. She went into the store and came back out after 2 to 3 mind and told me the mgr said “if the life jackets aren’t defective, he can’t give me my money back only store credit. I went in the store and advised him I wanted a refund since my daughters didn’t use them and we didn’t need them anymore, in which he told me the same. I advised him it doesn’t say anything on their website that an item has to be defective for me to get my money back. I asked to speak to someone above him and he advised he was the only store mgr. He gave me customer service number to call, to bad they were closed. I called customer service today and they did apologize for his behavior and advised he should have taken the items back. I honestly believe my daughter and I were treated this way because we are black. It’s really sad the way some people act. Because of his childish, racist ways I will never shop at Big 5 sports

The people here are always friendly and helpful. And they carry the products you need. They dont have every option available on the market, but they have high quality products. I have never been disappointed when I go there looking for something specific. I always find it.

I brought my dad here and he had a great time. They had some great deals on ammo and the staff is super friendly. Also, my dad was able to pick up some camping gear to go on our monthly camping trip.

The rep who helped me was excellent! I found everything on my list and spent less than I expected.

I found the store cluttered and hard to navigate. But an awesome employee really stuck to it until I found what I needed. I wasnt feeling well and my daughter needed an item I wasnt familiar with. I really would have walked out if it hadnt of been for one very friendly, very dedicated, person working there. Really made my day.

Great Place For Work Boots

I was in a hurry to catch a flight back to Utah where I live but wanted to buy roller skates. Its hard to find roller skates in Utah. There were several workers there but although they saw me struggling with various sizes and styles of skates, lacing them up, trying them on, no one helped me do anything. I tried on and laced up 5 pairs myself before finding a pair that fit. Also, all the skates were zip tied together so every time I got out a new box to try on, we had to go find someone to cut the zip ties. You cant try on skates if you cant stand up in them because theyre tied together. They knew I was doing it but they didnt help at all. It was annoying to have to chase them down for a pair of scissors every time.

Every worker was polite and courteous.

Big 5 has always been one our go-to favas. We have not had one close to us for a long time. Its nice to reconnect, because we know we will find what we need.

Merchandise is good quality. They were out of stock of the few items I went there to buy. It was Black Friday so you have to figure that into the stores appearance with the unkept shelves and out of stock merchandise. Otherwise, employees were very helpful and available in a timely matter.
