This place is AWESOME !! Not only do they have a HUGE selection of beautiful hardwoods, they also have a great selection of 4/4 & 8/4 mesquite slabs. But that is NOT why I come here. This is the coolest store Ive been to. Not a professional, I just like wood and doing projects. Im currently on my third. Mark is really helpful, theyre all super cool and will provide knowledge if asked for tips. I love this place, awesome selection, great prices.

My husband and I are in here probably every other week and we always have an AMAZING experience!! Every person we talk to is incredibly knowledgeable (especially Brett and Greg!!), and they always have useful tips for whatever project were working on. Their selection is always phenomenal (their variety of exotic woods is always a delight to look through!), the quality of their products is always on point, and the pricing is very fair - especially if youre part of the Rosewood club - $20 and worth every penny! Between the friendly and amazing service, the quality products, and the welcoming vibe we knew we found our favorite store from day one. We have shopped at pretty much all of the wood shops through the valley, and I know it sounds super cheesy, but this is the only store that you feel like family and know that you can rely on these gents to steer you in the right direction. You guys rock!!!! :-)

I will never buy any lumber from another big box store again. This place beyond blows their lumber prices out of the water, with quality too. I will be making the trip to here anytime since I am from out of town and my options are the big orange store and after the realization of what the unbelievable markup is. Hobbyists, d.i.yers buy your hardwood lumber from here. You will save so much and have a real selection to choose from and types of wood you will certainly not find at the orange, blue, red stores. Cool place that smells great if you like wood. All the varieties that you never knew existed...and some that you did.

They have all kinds of wood. I got Alder and had them cut the board in three pieces. Theyll sell you a piece of a board as long as you leave them 6 feet.

Shoutout to Greg R. and the rest of the team at the Tempe location. I dropped by yesterday to pick up the Baltic birch plywood thats on sale this month.

I’ve been a customer for many years. Service is great. Brett, Rich, Doug, Miguel and their others colleagues are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They give great advice and have saved me many hours of trouble and money by doing so. The wood variety selection is vast. Prices are competitive and being a Rosewood member gives a nice extra rebate. In addition, their wood cutting services have made my life easier on countless occasions. I don’t go anywhere else unless I have to. They have a good selection of quality power tools as well.

Mustache guy at the counter was short and kinda had an attitude except with every women that walked in. Customer service fail, though redemption came with the guy working in the warehouse cutting the wood. He was informative, broke pricing down did great cuts and went the extra mile top notch service from him.

Friendly staff, great lumber selection and prices! Know your board feet though. All lumber is priced in board feet. If you dont know board feet dont worry the helpfull folks there will help you. Definitely recommend!

Phenomenal lumber selection. Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Dont come here expecting two-by-fours and cheap plywood like you find at a big-box store. This is lumber for Craftsman and artisans.

Kind of like a wildlife exhibit but with exotic wood from across the globe. Staff lets you browse as long as you want and are not pushy. Also a good place for high end saws/ tools, hard-to-find stains and finishes, unique jigs from Kreg etc. But primarily this is the best place in town to buy high-end lumber.

Awesome selection of wood. Guy behind the counter was very knowledgeable and shared his own experience and advice for my project and really went into detail and provided excellent customer service even though I was just shopping for samples. Store was clean and easy to navigate. Happy to pay a little more than can be sourced online to hand pick my own lumber and pick the brains of knowledgeable staff.

They has a wide variety of wood species! Sizes go up to 12/4! Not even Lowes nor Home Depot has it that big. I got Ash wood in 8/4 cut to 3×34 as stock blanks for my medieval crossbow tiller. The guys there were plenty helpful with what they could do for my project.

I have a pub dining table with wooden legs that I wanted cut down to standard size. Im not a handy person so I googled Woodworkers and called to see if they could cut the legs down for me. I was told to show up early on Saturday and Id get helped right away. At 8am I walked in with 4 legs and asked for help. Brett was skeptical since the legs had to be cut at a slant, but he said hed try. Aaaand they turned out great! Not only was Brett able to cut them at an angle, he also reinstalled the rubber floor protectors. I did have to go back the next week to get them cut shorter, but Brett immediately took care of it. Great customer service! Do you install doors too?!

Helpful staff, but only 4 stars because they didnt have what I was looking for. The widest 1/2 thick hardwood boards they have in store are only 7.

To those who felt they were rudely treated, what sort of an attitude came into the store with you? I drive approximately 90 miles from Payson to shop here. You that complain of poor service should have not left the store without contacting Doug or another supervisor. Most businesses would not tolerate repeat episodes..... Little to no help - its a beautiful store no doubt and tons of toys but incredibly unfriendly staff.Seemed like they had no interest in anyone else joining their club. My request seemed simple enough, as I own a large format printing company and we dont currently offer our own framing it was something that we were looking into getting tooled up for.My request - if we wanted to start building our own frames relatively basic what would we need? My budget $3-5K ideally. This company would rather see us work with a local framer than become a new customer with our initial purchased being $3-5K or perhaps more and become a repeat customer.Now in fairness I did also inquire about our plan B which was to get in touch with a local framer to see about a relationship where the frames are built for us, which they did provide and were grateful. I did however find it an odd business model to not want to help us in our initial request to get tooled to build basic frames. When I followed up my initial request with yet a separate more insistent version of what would it cost? I got an estimate of about $10-12K to start. Now Im far from a woodworker or carpenter but am no complete stranger to tools and labor. I would be shocked if I this isnt more of a price just to get me to shut-up and leave. Im quite certain I can use hand tools and start building frames probably for about $1000 tops. And would expect I should be able to pick up a router, table saw, joiner, supplies and basics for $5k, even if its the lower end equipment which perhaps they simply dont carry. Regardless, with service like this I dont see a need to explore a relationship further.
