I brought in my husbands old violin,which he played back in the 80s, that needed a complete repair. Not knowing much about string instrument myself, Mr.Park was extremely courteous and explained thoroughly what needed to be done at a reasonable price within the time frame that needed to be repaired(this was going to be Fathers day surprise gift). When I went to pick up on the promised day, the violin looked brand new! Mr.Park did such a beautiful work. He even followed up days after to make sure my husband was satisfied with his violin(and he was beyond surprised and satisfied). I highly recommend W Violin Shop!

I had a GREAT experience with fixing my old cello at W.Violin two years ago. The owner was very thorough and helpful, and fixed my cello as nicely as he said he would. I was on the fence about making the drive from Ridgewood when there are stores near by. After calling the two stores that are nearby they said they do everything online, and that left me to do a lot of guess work. Gene is AMAZING. Very good quality of rental instrument. My son rented a viola for two years. I had a great experience at W. Violin! Mr. Park helped me select a new bow and gave me his honest opinion about whether or not I should upgrade my violin at this time. I have been playing for only 6 months, so he suggested for me to wait a little longer, maybe another 6 months, before buying a new violin. I brought my cello in because I didnt like how it sounded after the previous luthier did work on it. After taking a look at my cello, Gene recommended some adjustments. After the work was completed, my cello sounded like a completely different instrument. It projected better, had a fuller sound, and was easier to play/better response. W.Violin is a shop that every violinist should visit once in their lifetime. Not only does this shop have reasonable pricing, but also this shop provides violinists with great service. To be in depth, I had paid a visit to this shop for a bow re-hair. They have done an excellent job doing this task. I have also asked them to take a look at my violin. They have successfully examined the problems on the violin that have been affecting my position. I found all the problems to be trustworthy since the explanations he had given seemed to match my problems. Henceforth, I could let Mr. Park inspect my violin furthermore without any concerns. When I retrieved my violin, the sound of the violin had improved dramatically, that it motivated me to practice even more. My violin was able to project more sound and it sounded much brighter, louder, and cleaner. The process of fixing my violin seemed to be a very challenging task, craving the neck of the violin, however, he had done this task professionally. In my opinion, only person who could have done this job in New Jersey would be only the W. Violin.On top of all this, the pricing was very reasonable. Not only was the pricing reasonable, but also there were further services the shop had offered. Sorry this violin shop is a rip off. I dont know how he get this review. I think he gives a rebate from the violin tutors. The tutor who recommended him said the violin he sold is good. I find another tutor and as my daughter gets better at violin, I could hear that the violin he sold me was not good, horrible. We told him that and he refused to change the violin. Our current violin teacher said it would cost half the price we paid. Please do not go there.
