After a 30 year stint as a federal agent I swithced from a Glock to a wheel gun but soon thereafter decided upon purchasing a Kimber 45. I fell in love with the 45 frame after vacationing in VietNam in the mid 60s. After purchase I took it apart for cleaning and ATTEMPTED to reassemble. I spent hours trying to do this simple task; with a humble heart I went to VR Defense on TO Blvd. and asked help. Well these guys could not have been nicer...they showed me what I was doing wrong, and patiently showed me how to put the firearm together. For my buck this place rocks and worth considering for your next purchase, repair or resupply. BTW I did not purchase the gun there. It was closer.John Everett

They are very knowledgeable about gunsmithing. Reasonable prices, good quality work, and quick turnaround time.

This store has to be the worst store as far as customer service is concerned. I wood stay away from this place, You can get every thing they have online for much better prices.

Ive purchased stuff here over the last few years, and the experience is just OK. For me, living in Newbury Park, this store is one of the closest to me, so the convenience is there. However, since Covid-19 and the 2020 election cycle, inventory has been a tough situation -- this is the case everywhere, so not a knock on this store.

Went to purchase a gun light today. TLR8 lis advertised on their website for $199 as available only for an n-store purchase. I found the light at the store but it was priced way over $200. A salesman refused to honor the advertised price. Same thing happened to me last month when I tried to buy backup sights for my AR. On the stores website the sights were listed for $79, but at the store the price was $98.

Great store, these guys know their stuff! Quoted me a great price on some hard to get ammo for one of my C and R rifles. Good people, excellent customer service to boot.

Have to say went to this store the staff is great and the gun store is alright. No ammo but thats not their fault. But the fact that not a single staff member was wearing a mask in covid tells me two things. 1 gun rights are a right true. 2. When you run a business politics should be put aside for the safety of all customers. The 2nd amendment doesnt just apply to covid denialism and there are alot of people who are immuno compromised individuals. Come on guys do your part. Your store is open to the public so serve the public.

Wonderful staff that helped me with my rifle and answered everybody question i had. This is now my go to shop and i try to purchase everything from here. The prices on firearms are great and the staff is very knowledgeable.

REALLY SPENT SOME TIME WITH ME I DEALT WITH 3 GUYS OVER A COUPLE VISITS, & BOOM FOUND A GREAT FITTING HG, AFTER SHOWING ME 6 OR 7 & A GOOD PRICE ON A SECOND, fun small rev. SMALL BUT IMPORTANT THING> I DID WANT TO CHANGE ORDER same day BUT THEY SAID ORDER HAS GONE OUT, SO THAT MAY STICK WITH ME FOR A WHILE AS I REALLY LIKED A GUN ALMOST EXACT BUT A BIT BETTER FOR ME & I THINK WE ALL WANT WHAT WE WANT! ALSO NO specific AMMO FOR GUN, BUT I DO FEEL ANY QUESTIONS I HAVE WILL BE ANSWERED & WE CAN ALL LEARN SO HOPEFULLY WHEN I RETURN NONE OF MY QUESTIONS WILL BE STUPID & I WILL GET WHAT I NEED the 1st time GREAT GUYS TO TALK TO. Pleasant, knowledgeable team working at VC Defense. Went there to purchase a couple items, and the guys in there spent an hour with me wilfully imparting their knowledge and experienced opinions on what the best products are. Walked out confident I made the right decisions. Prices are very reasonable (Ive seen higher locally), especially when you consider its important to support your local shop so well have them in the area. Its my new go-to shop.

I heard about VC Defense from youtube of all places. I live in the South Bay, but I travel a lot for work. As a hobby I like to stop in and check out stores outside of my area. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have never actually made a purchase outside of my area, but I found myself buying much more than I could imagine.It all started with a simple question from me to the manager. I was desperate to find a part for one of my builds, and it seemed to be back ordered everywhere online. He took the time to call a few suppliers, and bam, said he would have it in less than a week. Keep in mind, I already had scoured all the usual online retailers for two days to no avail.A week later I was thrilled to get my final piece to complete my build, went in, got it, no hassle, no issue. Ended up shooting the sh*t with him, and got me buying two new prebuilt’s. Can’t wait to return to pick them up this weekend.If you are looking for a more personalized experience, this is the store for you. Only wish I lived closer to them, but then again I probably save money having distance between us. Lol

Been in there twice and had a great experience both times. Ended up buying a gun and put another money down on another.Generally the small stores like this one are where you find the highest prices - in several cases more than MSRP. I was pleasantly surprised to find the prices at VC are actually reasonable. In some cases lower than Turners.Sometimes I dont mind bargain hunting and will travel for the right deal. But if I can get a close enough deal AND save all the road time and battling traffic on two separate round trips, then its totally worth it. That was the case here.Price is important to me but the other big where to shop deciding factor is the staff and general environment. I found VCs staff to be friendly and the environment to be pleasant (compared to the cattle-call at any Turners or the rather foul attitudes of a couple other gun stores in the SFV for example).All in all, the prices and experience were right and VC earned my business on two purchases. I will be back for more.

Worst Customer Service Ever! They dont even deserve 1 star. Do not shop here for anything you might need. You can find it cheaper online yourself. Do Not order anything special order from VC Defense. All I needed was magazines for my sig sauer mpx. These are not cheap parts. $60+ a mag. I ordered two. I needed Gen 1. Gen 2 was the only one listed from the supplier. It was ordered. The employee never even asked me which Gen I needed. The employee who I delt with knows very little about anything and was always having to ask his manager what to do. Very annoying to say the least. They would not exhange the parts. Refused to refund since its a special order. These guys have a Sig Sauer logo on the store front. But they refused to even return the items that are basically useless for me. VC DEFENSE IS USELESS! I wasted $120 plus tax. Never again. DO NOT SHOP HERE.update 5/11/18 from YELPsorry to hear of your disappointment.- you came in and had us special order mpx mags for you.true!~ so much for that. even when i tried to email and cancel the same day. again no response from email.- gen 1 mags are no longer produced because they are known for causing persistent failures. so much so that a very well know local competition shooter that keeps everything and uses the mpx... throws them away, considers them trash.gen 1 mags are the only mags that function in a a gen 1 gun period.gen 1 mags arent produced anymore since they discontinued gen 1 mpx .... duh!!!!!- the gen 2 mags are an upgrade to correct the known issues and are compatible with the gen 1 mpx firearms. this despite any information or claim you have to the contrary.this is not true ... i called and verified with sig customer service.- you called us after the magazines were on the way asking if you can cancel because you found some magazines way cheaper, complained about our pricing... gen 1 magazines apparently from an online reseller known for dumping products on the market.not only did i send an email to whatever person card i had the same day i made purchased. i called the very next day to see if you could cancel since no response from the email. also the ones i ordered for 30 bucks. were gen 1. so i got them anyways.- it is recommended you only use gen 2 magazines, not the gen 1 mags. if the gen 1s function regularly without issues, youre lucky.again sig sauer customer service stated do not use gen2 mags in a gen 1 mpx. why? because of documented failures. pretty simple to understand how it works. gen 1 goes to gen 1 gun. gen 2 goes to gen 2 gun. cannot be interchanged. why? known failures.!special orders placed correctly by us are not refundable. nice policy why no one should order anything from you.you didnt seem to have such a negative reaction while in the store.cuz you already put me throught hell from the beginning.its unfortunate you would write such a review.its unfortunate your store policy is garbage for a storefront int he year 2018we would appreciate it if you would upgrade or remove the poor review to be accurate.not happening. if you would like further proof of emails sent the same day of purchase please let me know i have them.obvious you did not contact sig sauer. if you want me to call up and make a youtube video of customer service telling me and explaining this ill gladly do so.again here we go with more bad customer service trying defend themselves when they know deep down they have bad business practices!
