The food is Southern, scratch baked, home style meals. The waitress described the dishes with pin point accuracy and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we asked for and then some. The gift shop is my favorite place to browse and I end up spending more time than I planned because they have so many wonderful things. Prices are way better than expected compared to any other gift shop like this. They also stock all of the now, old fashioned candy favorites from my childhood. Items that you cant find anywhere else and even bottles of the pop I loved so much back then.
We had the maple bacon grilled chicken and the catfish and both were pretty good. Always love the sides, their potato casserole was really good as well as the fried apples. We got hush puppies instead of biscuits or bread and they gave us an extra box! Super nice staff and nice selection of items in their general store
Oh no run like crazy away from this place!!The chicken tenders were god awful so dry and hard and cold they were inedible. My husband’s shrimp same thing. My goodness how hard are those to make ?!! Our waitress ughhhh had to beg for a drink refill every time. Told the cashier on the way out her reply “ok ok sorry “ ya ok thank you! Stay clear don’t waste your money!
I havent been to one of these since leaving NC. The food was delicious, but I could tell it wasnt cooked by folks from the south. Bland flavors. Collard greens had bacon in them, but no vinegar (in the south, they use vinigar) Meatloaf had green peppers in it and was way too moist for my taste. Peach tea, tasted like yall just put in a peach syrup in some tea. I have always loved their corn bread. Now, you get little muffins. Still delicious and moist, but bringing out frozen butter. Couldnt spread the dang butter. This location has WAY too many tables besides each other. The guest behind me kept bumping into me. Also the set up is HORRIBLE for Covid protocol. They need to get rid of some tables, it was TOO tight. Service was great.
Stopped in tonight for dinner with a friend and had the most amazing server. Deanne was so friendly and super attentive. Probably the best restaurant experience I’ve had in years! Thanks Deanne for the awesome service and for taking such great care of us. We will definitely be back. :)
The food is delicious. If your looking for a setting that makes you feel like your at grandmas or grandpas house again this is it.They serve you so fast even when there busy. And so much great food for the price! I can not get over how amazing this place was. Im highly satisfied
This visit did not start off the greatest, we were told a 30min wait for a table for two. This wait ended up being an hour and 15min. Long wait times are totally understandable but accurate times would have really made this experience better. While we waited we were able to check out their cute giftshop! They had a ton to look at and their prices were really reasonable! I ended up getting some cute salt and pepper shakers. After finally being seated we were greeted right away by our server and given menus. I loved that they offered breakfast all day. They also had a ton of selection on their lunch and dinner menu. The prices and options were both great and I had a tough time decided what to get. I ended up ordering the Haddock fish and my mom got the maple bacon grilled chicken. Both dishes had a ton of flavor!! The Haddock was cooked just perfectly and the breading was nice and light. The chicken was a very unique glaze and the bacon on top was perfectly crisp. The server came over to check in multiple times and was on top of filling our waters and bringing us boxes. I will for be coming back to try some of their other dishes.
Our waiter was great. Knowledgeable and funny. Prices were very reasonable for a party of 4 and the food was delicious. We will be going back to try other things. Do yourself a favor and get the chocolate cake.
So many good choices. We loved our food! And great service! Also loved the crackling fire!
My in-laws wanted to go there so bad. They had a really nice selection of meals on the menu. And everyone found something they liked. This is an older American style of restaurant. Kind of a Dennys ish vibe. They were glad they went once.
The place always looks super clean. Food it is yummy and staff always so friendly. Plus remember. Kids will want to buy something from the small gift shop they set up before you walk in into the restaurant.
This was the most disgusting breakfast we’ve had in a long time. my bf was hyping it up cuz it apparently was good when he was a kid but we were extremely let down, to put it lightly. overall quality of food was comparable to a previously frozen microwave meal, and definitely not something you would expect from a dine-in restaurant. we’re disappointed beyond belief; this was my first, and definitely last, visit to this restaurant.
Awesome place, the store is packed with great merchandise and the restaurant area is cozy, good is excellent
I went in for food and the manager Steve was yelling at all the employees and made several cry. I have never seen such a disgraceful set of managers in my life. Managers are suppose to be leaders and they are power hungry with no real management skills. I will never be going back to Cracker Barrel and will advise all my friends and family from ever returning.
Tonight was my wife and I first time trying Crocker Barrel our waitress was Jenny she did a great job!! She was super helpful and funny! We enjoyed her personality!
Service was fast and friendly. Food was hot and delicious even though we ordered until a half an hour before closing! We’re able to get leftover boxes for later. Only our second visit to a Cracker Barrel, first one being last week in Texas. Felt at home both times. Biscuits were a little flat, but I blame that on arriving later. Will come back!
Carrie was our server, she made my sons and I feel welcome. She loves her job and it showed. She made our experience top notch. Thank you.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was great, and the food was great with good sized portions. Much better than the one in Portland.
Last week was my first time trying Cracker Barrel & oh man! Our waitress was Samantha, she did an awesome job!! Made my family feel welcome & was so helpful! Going back again.
Good food and prices. Service a bit sporadic.
Great service. Good home style food.Love the gift store!
I love cracker barrel. Its only my third visit but everything is always great. The food is wonderful and they have a good selection. We recommend the meatloaf and the loaded hash browns casserole. They servers are great too.
Yum yum yum yummy food. Lovely and kind staff. Love the homey feeling of everything there and a cool gift shop 😍😎
Overall Ive had a pretty decent experience at this restaurant. But, just a couple days ago when I returned for a visit to eat here, the waitress brought us menus, and then patted me on the shoulder which I found very uncomfortable. And a couple of weeks earlier I had ordered the chicken fried steak with three sides. And the waitress brought our food out, my three sides consisted of, corn, broccoli, and carrots. I had to send it back multiple times before they finally got it right. And I have also had to wait over an hour for them to take our order. Will not be returning to this restaurant for a while.
Excellent food keep you full and happy love the little store inside and staff always friendly 😀
Catfish is fantastic. Good service. Lovely people. A must go.
This the second and last time Ill go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. First time 5 years ago had pancakes that were like rubber. How do you screw up pancakes. This time the sausage biscuits were the size of half dollars and were not fresh and the sausage was not ground sausage, but something cut off a roll of something. They should just give up on breakfast because I have had good dinners there.
Great service and perfect eggs. My wife even had perfect eggs.
Had an amazing breakfast 😋 and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend this place 👌
Went there mainly for the food with my family. Just a forewarning to be careful about what youre ordering off the menu, a lot of these are really not full meals. I would suggest getting a meal coming with three sides, this is most worth your money. The food is also... okay. Of course, I have only been here once, but as an initial reaction, you could probably find better food for much cheaper. On the side, the store is small, and has some decent doodads, and a rather large choice of uncommon sweets. Its a small store, themed like something local through and through.Overall, this place is okay, could be better. You can go and find better places to eat.
What can I say, wonderful as always. Great food great service
Very reasonable prices, great food, wonderful service, easy access on and off I-5 and clean restrooms! Of course you can’t miss their gift shop and the restrooms are always clean.
After eating here for so many years, the time has come to say goodbye. Our last visit was the worst! We ordered the Sunday homestyle chicken meals. One plate had fries and the other plate had mashed potatoes. Well, the mashed potatoes had an awful taste of old bacon. The chicken which in the past, was tasty and an ample amount. Not this time. The size was almost half and the taste of the chicken tasted pretty much like the mashed potatoes, bacon grease. The color of the chicken breading was off. They tasted like they had been fried in old bacon grease and were dark in color. The biscuits were not any better. Price went up so we are out. Too many other places to spend my hard earned money.I did reach out to customer service. I gave all the information that was asked and did not hear a word. they really do not care.
The staff was friendly and kind and took the time to listen and be helpful 😌
Beautiful atmosphere! This place takes you back in time. This is pretty popular restaurant for the SE of the US but its pretty rear thing on the west coast. I am glad I have experienced the feeling of the Old Country. I was happy they had low calorie menu. Pretty reasonable price, my meal there was $8.99 😏. Great customer service. And cozy! Definitely going back.
Professional Review: (okay, not professional, just a regular review)Pros: Excellent, delicious food as usual, manager (Steve) went above and beyond to help us get tables together since were a big family, server was super friendly and was patient and kind with our children.Cons: As of 5/9/21 cant sit more than 6 people at a table, even if youre from the same family. I have more than 4 kids, so Oregon is discriminating against me. Thanks so much for that, Governor Brown, youre so smart and kind. Not.
Super cute with fun things! Their sell prices are amazing! Got a pair of baby shoes for like $5.
Good customer service, good prices and food.
We arrived during the busy Saturday dinner rush. It was hot out, 90deg. but under Cracker Barrels front porch with ceiling fans moving the air and their famous rockers to sit while you wait, time just flew by. The gift shop is filed with things you didnt know you needed and now wonder how you can live without. It will be the spot for holiday gifts! The food was excellent, prices were very good and this is one place that if you leave hungry its not for lack of portion size. They are very generous! * Staff were friendly and well organized, place was spotless including the bathroom. * Its about time Oregon got a breakfast lunch & dinner restaurant that families can go without breaking the budget. Open late and early. Word has it 2 more restaurants are opening within the year!!
Im not a give everything four star or five star default person. Really good restaurant when you need a southern food fix. Pot roast great, fish anything is great, and for the rare folks who like meat loaf thats great too. The sides though need to be more consistent with their main dishes. Sometimes broccoli is not cooked enough. Sometimes carrots not as tasty. Otherwise good service.
Always good food, service, atmosphere, variety, and reasonably priced.
Absolutely the worst portion size of any restaurant! the country fried steak was decent sized though, no flavor, the gravy had a weird smokey flavor that lingers in your mouth afterwards and was congealed, the biscuits were hard as a rock and the eggs look tasted and felt like they were dehydrated at one point, also Ive never seen 2 eggs look so measly the hashbrowns were about a half a cups worth I got more satisfaction from this review than I did my meal
We received a gift card about six months ago and finally drove to the other side of town to try Cracker Barrel. It was worth the drive. The food was good and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was great and there was more food than I could eat in one setting! You have to go through the gift shop to pay and it was very crowded which was one of the only cons...
Second time at a Cracker Barrel. Both times, food was pretty good. Both times, service was horrid. Food comes out staggered.... Some cold, some hot. Some not until you ask where it is. Oh and watch their pricing structure. A combo with french toast, eggs, and bacon is $5 less than the exact same amount of french toast with a side of bacon. Or if you want to add an extra *tiny* piece of catfish, you will pay more for that extra piece than an entire second meal. Its very bizarre.
Food was ok some was cold and they comped those for us very good service.
The store was super cute. They had a good selection of knick knacks and candy. Unfortunately, the rest of this restaurant was subpar. The food tasted like it came from a can and the portions were small. The steamed broccoli was very hard to chew and the roast was small and bland. If I do come back, itll be for the store and the store alone.
Looking forward to fried chicken dinner. It was not cooked fresh it had been sitting in warming bin way to long and was only Luke warm.
The service was amazing, the cashier, however...must have been having a bad day. I asked for a bag for my Togo food, and she told me she had to charge me for it. She was asking me if I was with my girlfriend, and not in a small talk sort of way. It was as if she couldnt believe me that we came in together. The food was great, and came out fast.
Their gluten-free, vegetarian options arent bad. I ordered a baked sweet potato and it was yummy (came with butter and brown sugar). Others at my table without diet restrictions received free buttermilk biscuits, and cornbread (which they heartily agreed was delicious) as well as honey and butter to go along it.The full meal prices are around $10 (+ drink), and my side-dish-sweet-potato was under $3. Their menu has a camping theme. They have a small, and adorable, little store as you walk in the restaurant which includes unique clothing, books, toys, a couple varied copies of the US Constitution (book and poster format) ... I started calling the whole place a Ferralls for adults 😀Please go if you can ~ I think it is worth it, especially if youre able to bring some friends!
A bit understaffed, and they wouldnt make me a poached egg. This northern location seems to lose a little bit of the southern charm the chain is known for, but what are you going to do?
Meatloaf tasted like Soylant Green. Dont2 eat here unless you want bland old people food.
Grrrrreat food. Maple bacon chicken was fab!
We were greeted promptly by the hostess and there were places to sit and things to do during our 40 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon. Much of the wait was spent playing checkers. The gift shop is quaint. The waiter (Tim) was very polite and checked on us frequently and provided our requests quickly. Four out of five stars for this visit. Only two drawbacks. One of the staff interrupted our meal to put more sugar packs in the container, but this could be done when the table is cleared. The other item: I thought the cheese grits were a little runny/liquidy.
Just plain ole country food. Easy to love hard to hate.
The server had only been there for a day or two but he was excellent.I ordered one egg, one sausage patty and a biscuit. The egg was small, the sausage patty was about 2 wide and 1/4 thick and tough. The biscuit was great. The server did get me my food and out in time to continue on with my activities / schedule for the day.I may go back.
Always great food. Cool old time store.
Ordered take out fried chicken. My meal was hot and delicious!! Easy in and out pick up. Employees all had masks and gloves. Well be back many more times.
Love the country store. The food is a disappointment. Expecting home style food, but it seems to be microwave and fast food style
Had a very good dining experience. Currently are following all COVID guidelines. Very friendly wait staff. Manager on duty was on top of everything. Recommend this location. Suggest arrive early so dont have a long wait time.
The food here is great, the atmosphere is nice and homey. The service was fantastic and friendly.
I love Cracker Barrel. I have ordered take out twice and dined in once at this location. Delicious food and wonderful experiences every time!
Abraham de Jonge, the Host, got me a chair to sit on while we waited to be sat in the restaurant. Thank you Abraham!! :)Also, we had an excellent Waiter, Daniel L.
Dealing with the new normal is working out ok at Cracker Barrel.Good foodGreat people
Great food and great atmosphere. Great service.
Great food and very nice location. Friendly service and fast.
Good food, portions are smaller than they used to be. But still good. Miss the games on the tables
The People are all very friendly, the service is great. Our Waitress was Stacey and she was very pleasant and sincere. My only complaint was how cruel it was to have the door person standing the entire time, & how a stool is totally appropriate for that position. The Manager Steve Beairsto addressed my concern immediately after I explained in detail for the persons back and knees, and brought a chair up for them.
Fantastic service and food! True Cracker Barrel quality! I tried the fried chicken strips, delicious! And I have to get those fried apples!
Waited for over an hour to order we did not get water even for the longest time food was manageable but cold when it finally got to us several people were having to get there own napkins and things from the waitress cart also having to get condiments from other tables that had yet to be cleaned I wasnt impressed with the food mostly because of its temp we ate it but only because we had been at a dental appointment all morning an had yet to have a meal we got the sampler and what was enough food to split (18$) had me leaving the leftovers. I had really worked up an appetite but between the overall atmosphere and waitress forgetting things it was rather negative and sour. Everyones attitude was down and I understand times being stressful and hard with covid and everything but it really isnt a good way to do any type of business sorry probably not going to go back
This place has good food. Also this here place has a gift shop. That way an individual is able to purchase gifts. Be it for themselves. Or for other individuals. Also, the restrooms are available currently for use here.
My friend bought us breakfast to go from there yesterday. It was THE WORST FOOD I have had in a restaurant. Biscuits and gravy were absolutely tasteless. The biscuits were not homemade, they had a little flavor of plastic. The gravy, they either put that smoke flavoring in or actually smoked it with the wrong tasting pellets. It was so bad my dogs wouldnt even eat it. And it was expensive to boot. The ONLY thing that was good was the bacon. Do not expect home style anything when you eat here. I still might call the manager. It was that horrible.
Pretty blah! Not horrible, not great.
We hadnt been here in over a year, but we were rather disappointed. The food was not as good as before. We had hamburger steak, which was overcooked, mashed potatoes, which did not taste real like before and fried chicken, also that was overcooked. However, the service was very good and friendly as before.
Great food and service with a smile from a very cheerful waitress made it a very pleasant dining experience
This was wonderful. Before the Covid shutdown we went many times to the Beaverton location and loved it. Today was our first time at Tualatin location and it is also terrific. Wait employees so nice and the food was flavorful and cooked just right. We will be back again soon Im sure.♥️
Did a great job social distancing tables and people. Excellent food! Great service! And got some old country candy to boot!
Always a great place for down home cooked meals. Tops my list. Ashley was a fabulous server, and made the experience one of the best.
Dont listen to the nay sayers who have not one ounce of southern blood obviously. I have been eating at Cracker Barrel since 1997 all over the United States including the south. Taste just the same as all the other restaurants with a very nice wait staff. We waited maybe 10 minutes for a table and about the same for our food. Very surprising for only being open less than a week on a Monday morning around 10am. For the amount of food you are getting it still shocks me Cracker barrel charges less than $10 for a filling meal. Had to teach my husband the proper way to eat grits (with butter and sugar). Always love the store especially around Christmas time. Excited to get ours to open in southern oregon where you will be welcomed. Not shunned and given bad reviews by the yuppie hipsters who live in Portland. They can have their purple rainbow kale vegan smoothies. Ill take my food fried the same way theyve been serving it everywhere else
Great food and exceptional service. Samuel was a great server, really enjoyed my birthday lunch. Thanks
I wish theyd open locations in WA. It would literally be the only restaraunt chain in WA that serves grits.
It was just ok. I was so happy to be hungry and there so I finally got to try them! :( IT wasnt all that! My waitress could have been new (doubt it she seemed very familiar) but she wasnt very in top of her game and I waited until close to my last bit before I got my glass of water. Ill add that she told me 3 times during 3 different trips to my table that shed bring it right back! I had nothing to drink! Not too excited anymore about crackle barrel!
Good wasnt warm. It was OK but nothing special
First, the food came out cold, the food was bland and tasted like who ever made It didnt understand the concept of cooking at all, plus there was hair in the pancakes. Second, we didnt get silverware untill we asked for it when the server left from dropping off our food. The silverware we were provided was in a pile and was STILL EXTREMELY DIRTY. Third, drink service was slow to not existent. At the end of our lunch all 7 of us felt sick from the food.Severe was polite and tryed her best.
Amazing food! Great service
Cracker Barrel is our breakfast place on Sundays! This time we took my mother in-law for Mothers Day. Thank you again for making our experience an EXCELLENT one!
The breakfast food was delicious, the steak was not too good though.
Definitely need to stop if you are passing by! My kids loved it and so did I. Friendly staff, very clean and great environment.
