Organized, Professional, knowledgeable. I would prefer someone who knows what they are doing rather than someone who wants to ‘BS”. The employees were great and I got quality merchandise with all questions answered appropriately. Nothing else I would rather have….came here after negative experience in another chain store. I am a Veteran and highly recommend the Armory to my fellow Veterans.

I buy all my guns here and it’s Always been a smooth experience. They are very accommodating and the customer service is wonderful. Really great selection and good stock even during the shortages.

Couldnt get anyone to help me. They went out of the way to help others that came in after me. Ended up buying the Magpul Zhukov folding stock from Oregon Rifleworks. They made me feel welcomed, and was super helpful.

First off Ill say Im a regular at the Milwaukee location and they have been amazing. But every time Ive gone in here the service is horrible. I just stood in there for 15 just to buy a magazine. It wasnt busy. Just poor service.

Worst gun store experience ever. Constant attitude, pretending you don’t exist in the store, kept my firearm for over 30 days because “Tigard PD made them do it”. Called Tigard PD to confirm if this was right and I found out that’s their own policy and there’s no such thing. Every other place takes 2 minutes to run my background check but Northwest Armory took an hour. I have my conceal carry and I buy guns almost every month and a background check has never taken that long at any other gun store. Spare your time and money and go somewhere else. The old hag behind the counter was the worst.

No customer service. I felt like I was an inconvenience being in the store and trying to give them my money. Hours are very limited. Many and better options in the area. Oregon rifle works less than a quarter mile away. Will not return.

One of, if not THE, best gun shops in the area. Have purchased 3 firearms through them, 2 online, 1 in store. All 3 experiences have been great. The past 2 have been since COVID restrictions and each time I have visited, theyve been very busy but very well organized. Pleasure to deal with, no pressure, no hassle, no jerks. Im a California resident that came to the Tigard area to visit a college friend we were planning on heading out to the range so me and my friend stopped by to pick up a box of ammo. Once I went to pay for my ammunition I was met with attitude that seemed to subside with conversation until I mentioned I was from California, I was then told that the purchase I was making was illegal because I have to get a background check for ammo in my home state. I tried to explain that the only illegal thing would be me taking the ammo home but was told I was incorrect and that they were making an exception because it was only one box. It would really benefit this company to apprise themselves of the actual law instead of making people who are simply attempting to exercise there second ammendment rights while traveling feel as though they are breaking the law.

I didnt realize the this when i bought the gun (Ruger 8539 ar-556 mpr) but this was a used gun. This model is an exclusive to Sports South Distributor Exclusive. I did not know this while buying as no where on nwarmory site stated used. it was very evident that the gun was used as there was a bunch of sand in the buttstock which made it very hard to adjust which took a lot of wd40 to clean it out the fine sand particles. other parts of it look in working order but havent checked out the accuracy of it or if the barrel has been to used or not. slightly feel ripped off by this order.

I use to love it here in Tigard. Maybe replace your staff. Once your friendly, knowledgable gun shop, has turned out to be a needy, price gauging, arrogant service establishment. Buy online, not from nw. Youll save a lot and probably get treated better. Ammo marked up by 100%. Not even Cabelas nor Sportsman does that. Ill wait a couple of weeks for a box of 9mm for 17 bucks rather than buying the same thing on the spot for 37. Never desperate. Shame on you nw. Not only did you lose my consistent business, but also my recommendation.

One of the two S&W handguns I purchased online was out of stock prior to shipping. They promised a credit, then nothing showed up. After two weeks I contacted them via email and Samantha apologized and promised it again. After 30 days, and multiple emails, I filed to reverse the charges via AmEx and voila, 3 days later the credit showed up. Tigard folks are great... not sure what the issue in Arizona is? Be aware.

They had come highly recommended & they were the only shop in town that had the item I was seeking 👍 they remain open right now during the virus pandemic, and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. There was a wait time, as they are limiting the amount of customers allowed in, and they are staying real busy. I got a good price. Family run, local business that Im glad to support. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Even though the store was busy over the lunch hour, I was quickly attended to and allowed to look at a number of handguns. The staff patiently answered all of my questions without making me feel ignorant or pressuring me to buy. Their prices are competitive and there is a wide selection of used guns as well. I dont really see the need to go anywhere else.

40$ for 1 box of 50ct ammo and only 1 per household a week... thats crazy. plus the attitude from everyone inside was not needed. Lost me as a customer.

This place rocks. Felt so welcomed in this shop. I arrived in the earlier afternoon and there was no line. You can check their online inventory to get an idea of what is likely in stock. I was able to get an idea of what I wanted before I arrived. I live in the Roseburg area, I saved hundreds of dollars by going to NW Armory. Luckily I was in Portland for work! Attempted to sell a NEW 12 Ga. shotgun. While standing and waiting, one of the personnel bumped into me, and said you are in my way. When it was my turn, I was asked . . what do you want.Ignorant, arrogant, confrontational . . . . . ..There are many gun shops in the area, I found another that had all the qualities that these clowns lack. And a much better price as well..

25 years ago, I bought my first carry weapon and many subsequent handguns and rifles as well as reems of reloading supplies from the NWA on Mclaughlin Blvd.. every time I went there, the staff was friendly, the prices were extremely competitive, and they had great selection.When the one in Tigard opened (as NWA), I was optimistic that the Gunbroker (previous business in that spot) with its snotty and arrogant staff and obnoxiously inflated prices; would finally be a business Id be happy to patronize (since I only live 2 miles away). Alas, despite the change in ownership, they still have some of the same arrogant employees who make you feel there is someplace else theyd rather be, and the prices are ridiculous. Just the other day, while I was there, they told the 6 or so people behind me that their 9mm ammo was $17/box (Bi-Mart sold the same for $11 couple days ago). While I was still in the store, they bumped it up to $21/box. By the time I left, they told 3 more people $21/box. Thats price gouging during a shortage.I get half a dozen requests a week for advice on where to buy firearms goods and services. Its quite unfortunate that my old go-to doesnt make the list anymore. I wont be stepping foot back in that store.

These guys (and a gal) arent messing around! I went in during the Pandemic of 2020, and even with the difficulties presented during that time, they had a pretty efficient operation going. One customer in the store at a time, so you want to order online only (no casual shopping at the time). Very organized and thorough.

Do not buy from these people they make you pay for the item before your ran and its a big hassle if Something happens to get your money refunded. all they care about is making a commission. I did a pistol trade at the tigard location, there was some unknown problems with the new gun, I took it back the next morning and they sent it in to the manufacturer. That was in January. I have been without my daily carry for 3 months and Im still waiting. They havent even apologized for trading a broken gun. This has been a nightmare, and I have no idea when itll be over.

As a virgin gun owner I took a long time before I made a decision as to what to purchase. I visited the store numerous times, always greeted by friendly staff. On the day I chose my first purchase I brought a more knowledgable friend, who helped me narrow my choices down, but I was still uncertain. Another customer, overhearing my dilemma suggested an entirely different gun, which upon further examination checked off my boxes better than either of the first two. I am grateful for the patience of the staff as I asked for grip and magazine changes - to which they happily obliged. My friend assisted with ammo purchase and enjoyed the outing as well, as he could play with some vast variety of choices offered. My background check went quickly and easily with no hassle. Thank you to the staff for your patience with me, and for making my first purchase enjoyable and fun!

Like someone said in the comments. Horrible personalities. As soon as you walk in you don’t get greeted. We seemed interested in a certain gun and they did not try to sell us on it or answer any questions we had about it. They were so blunt about everything. They just want you out ASAP.

I just purchased my first firearm at Northwest Armory in Tigard and I couldnt be happier work my experience. Justin was absolutely amazing. He answered all my questions happily even though my knowledge of guns is incredible limited, and never made me feel stupid. I will definitely be making any further purchases here.

This is my go to gun store, I have been to every gun store within a 25 miles radius of Beaverton and this one is the best Ive found. The people are friendly, customer service is excellent. Those who complained about not being greeted at the door are people who will find anything to complain about pay them no mind.I have been a customer for quite a while now over a year as both a buyer and also trading a few guns in to them to upgrade my arsenal or try something new/different. They have always given me fair trade in value often more than I was expecting. Cant recommend them enough. Beyond that they have at any given time some of the best selection in both new guns as well as used guns, not to mention a large selection. Each time I go there I buy something, they always have something to catch your eye.

The staff here are great! Always patient and happy to help. My son recently became interested in shooting and has bought all his firearms here. Great prices and friendly service. They will take the time to help you get what you need. Ive always seen the staff be patient and friendly, never rude or arrogant. But thats just my experience.

Why does this store always charge for the firearm before running the background check? Seems illegal to purchase before the background check clears. If you get delayed or denied youre money is tied up until the charge clears. I have had good experiences here and bad ones, it depends on who you deal with because some of the employees are unpleasant. That being said they have the best prices around so i just deal with the nonsense.

NW Armory is a great local company. They are family run and typically have the best local prices, rivaling online prices in many cases. The staff is helpful and friendly and are always happy to let you check out gear, and will answer questions readily with no silly know-it-all shenanigans, like other similar businesses. Ive been going here since i bought my first winchester shotgun when i was 18 and my first repeating .22 when i was 19 at that time it was the tigard gun broker. Since then ive always stopped in every few months just to check in and see what was there. But when they changed to northwest armory to my surprise it was the same staff which made me really happy. As all the folks i dealt with years prior were still there. For my experience here on visits there for the past 10 years, the staff has been really knowledgeable and helpful, and is always willing to help to find a particular firearm you are trying to find even though they might not have it, they often times can order it through one of their distributors. But overall a really great shop and worth a visit, with nice employees.

I just dont understand some of the negative reviews. I have purchased several firearms from this location. They have always been knowledgeable, and courteous. I usually know what Im interested in before I even walk in, or sometimes I just browse and kill time during lunch. In all cases, Im always asked if they could help me with anything. My most recent purchase, they were more than happy to bring out and discuss several options I was considering for a pistol. They let me test the triggers, and I even dis-assembled the one pistol I ended up buying to check for internal wear (it was a used H&K VP9 LE). I guess if you act like an idiot, maybe youll be treated like one. I have never had any issues with this store, and I return often to browse if Im in the area.

My hubs ordered 3 guns from this store, trying to support local business...guns were 2 weeks late, had to continue to call the store to figure out receipt of weapons..and then there was the arguing from the woman at the store that she had called and had a conversation with my husband. He was stunned. Three weapons, asignificantexpenditure and very poor customer service. Poor form from the staff and I think there are other businesses to support. Disappointing.

Painful, dont greet or try to help whatsoever. This is about the 3rd or 4th gunshop in this location, some of the same faces. Take your business to JB firearms in Beaverton. Had two bad experiences with them. Treat you like they wish youd leave as other reviews have stated.

Absolutely amazing place! I drove from Beaverton to them at 5PM in the worst traffic and barely made it in time before closing. They stayed open and held the item I wanted and waited for me. They worked very fast and they were very friendly since I kept the there after hours. I hate being that guy as I know how it feels to deal with last minute customers. But thank you again Northwest Armory! This was my 4th gun purchase from them and will definitely not be my last. Each experience has been better than the last.

I have purchased several firearms from the Tigard location and they always go above and beyond. The prices can be amazing at times. To the cat complaining about them selling assault firearms, you may as well complain that they have a unicorn roaming the store freely because there is no such beast as an assault firearm. Thats a term made-up by the MSM. Do they sell 5.56 semi-automatic rifles? Yes, they re a firearms store. Thats like going to a strip club and being offended there are naked women dancing. Your best bet would be to turn off your TV then go back to California. Either that or pull your blankie over your head and close your eyes. Welcome to reality.

Better knowledge about holsters otherwise both stores are great for whatever you are looking for. My critique is for my sig saurer carry nightmare 45 acp. Basically I was tryingto get a CC holster for it GALCO was what was purchased as a gift. But there is no Galco holster to fit for such a gun (too big). I called Galco holsters, but Galco has a nice website to help match your gun to the holster. In my case the shoulder holster is not viable. Otherwise great store, helpfull staff.

Great selection of pistols at fare market price

I made a pretty negative rating because of my previous experiance with this location but felt the need to revise it after my last experiance. Their selection for parts is pretty small but they seemed to have A LOT more fire arms this last time I went in. Possibly because its tax season. But the main reason I felt like I needed to delete my old rating was because of the customer service. Although I wasnt able to find what I was looking for, the customer service was MUCH better. I walked in finding all the employees busy with other customers but they still didnt ignore me. Even as i left pretty much every emplyee said goodbye. This was a big change compared to getting blown off for a phone call when I was the only customer in the store and they had 2 employees (that I could see) working. Id give that last star if they had more parts.

What a great experience! I was going to purchase a pistol online but decided to email NW Armory since I like to support local business when possible. I was being that guy by asking if they would match the price I found on the internet. I was contacted by Darian by phone within one hour, he thanked me for reaching out to them, directed me where to find the pistol on their website. I made the purchase and had the pistol four days later.The best part is that it was $50 less than what I found online!They shipped it to their Tigard location for my convenience. The staff at the Tigard store was professional, knowledgeable and just plain nice. I am not the typical gun guy and this was my first pistol purchase. The staff at NW Armory made the whole experience welcoming and pleasant. I will recommend NW Armory anyone.

Not a veteran friendly, at all. Hostile and errogent people, interested in gathering personal information for advertizing. I got an 22 LR and they were not happy to hear me asking if they have Veterans Discount. Prices higher than Big Stores. I left the store very disapointed with attitude of employees. I went to Fishermans Wearhouse and bought my gun from there, found discounted Ruger... treatment is much better there with respect to veterans...

Not the true NW armory experience, the staff are more interested in their phones or the computer in the corner than answering questions or selling pistols. I live in Sherwood but will make the trip to Milwaukie to spend my gift cards. NW in Milwaukie is an outstanding operation and well known, but the Tigard location is a departure from what I have learned to expect.
